Always looking for new and exciting cocktails to try, I purchased this book. Each page became more interesting, not only for the drinks presented but for the knowledge that Mr. Bondurant shares about Tahiti, it's culture, local accomodations, etc.

I have always wanted to go to the Tahitian islands but have never had the opportunity. Now, after reading "Cocktails in Tahiti", I am planning a trip to Tahiti for next Summer. I originally thought "Cocktails in Tahiti" would give me some good ideas for entertaining, but soon found out it contained many intersting nuggets about the islands and their history. To sum it up, I am packed and ready to go to these beautiful islands.
If you've ever dreamed of a tropical vacation or just need to brighten up your winter, you should read this book.

I have never been to Tahiti, but after reading the fun, informative facts about Tahiti, seeing the beautiful pictures, and sampling some of the excellent cocktail recipes, I am ready to go!
Mr. Bondurant's love and knowledge of Tahiti come through clearly in the book, which is very well laid out. It provides enough information and explains things in such a way that an amateur can make delicious Tahitian cocktails as well as the most experienced bartender. The fun facts about Tahiti, along with summaries of the total hotels and the gorgeous pictures, makes this book a must have.
Until I can take my first trip to Tahiti, this book will help bring a little Tahiti to my home.

My son is 9 and absolutely loves this book. We've limited it to one activity a day so that he doesn't finish it too quickly (there are only about 35 or 40 in the book). I would recommend this book for any creative child - we will definately be buying more in this series.

As a parent and former early childhood educator, I am pleased to write this review. In a day and age when entertainment does not require much thought process from our young ones (i.e. video games, pointless television shows, computer software, etc.), it is very refreshing to stumble upon the Anti-Coloring Book. Our children are exposed to endless amounts of effort-free fun stuff; and ultimately, young minds become lazy, trained, and forgetful of the power of imagination. How can you say no to a product that fosters developmentally appropriate learning, and promotes self awareness, self confidence, self expression, and independent thinking?? Help your child to break free from the lines and boundaries that hold them back. Kudos to the creators... it's time to get real about our children's needs!

This book proves that you can't judge a book by its cover--open it up and find most photos are in black and white, and unbelievably almost none show enough depth of field to show the whole insect in focus. I was really stunned at the poor quality of photography here. The text does contain helpful information on general rules of photography, how to approach insects, etc. but the information on film and use of very old camera equipment is extremely outdated in this day of digital photogrpahy. I immediately packed this book up and sent it back for a refund.

I own two copies of this book. I share my extra copy with other photographers who are interested in photographing butterflies. It is an particularly good resource for any serious novice or intermediate photographer. The book reviews and reinforces basic photography concepts with a distinct emphasis on mastering depth of field. The book is well organized, well written and easy to understand. It is full of useful tips and much of the material is transferable to other photographic subjects. The tips on photographing butterflies, i.e., where to find them, insect behavior, equipment and technique is very solid information.

Mr. Folsom has done a splendid job with his beautiful book on butterfly photography. I have begun to experiment with insect photography and found his book chuck full of practical, useful tips and suggestions. So many photographic books have endless pages on technical details or expound upon the obvious. This beautiful book provides a wonderful blend of photographic pointers along with fascinating information on these marvelous little creatures. Mr. Folsom should be comended for producing such a helpful manual on the fine art of butterfly photography.

I really enjoyed this book. It was helpful in both the scientific aspects of how to predict butterfly behavior, and the photographic aspects of capturing them on film. I found it an excellent balance between, as the title implies, art and science. The butterfly is one of the most beautiful, but elusive, of nature subjects. I have been photographing nature for years, but the tips I found in the book immediately improved my photos. The photos were helpful, as were the references at the back, to books and online resources. I would strongly recommend this book for anyone even thinking of photographing butterflies. The advice is also widely applicable to capturing other wary nature subjects.

Jack Hamm is one of the best art instructors there is, period. His books are accessible and easy to use and learn from. He created a series of books that help the budding animator, painter, sketcher, or comic artist. If you have some art skills, this is a great book to buy to learn more about caricature, styles and technique, running figure, scene setup, It has great shortcuts and tips for artists of ALL skill levels. If you haven't read his "First Lessons for Painting and Drawing", it is an indispensible book you may want to read before this one.
For kids, the Jack Hamm books are the next logical step after the Ed Emberly Big Green Drawing Book and others in his series, and next the 2 main Mark Kistler books.

Mia Hamm
Mia Hamm was a talented soccer player. As a toddler she lived in Italy, that is how she discovered her love of soccer. Her dad was a marine and so she moved around frequently. During High School she decided to focus on soccer, and so all through High School and college she played on her schools' teams. Mia graduated college in 1994 and married her college boyfriend, Christian Corey. After that, Mia and her team went to Sweden to defend their world cup title. IN 1998, she was named America's best female athlete.
My book, On the Field With Mia Hamm, gave me lots of information about Mia. The cover page is green with a colored picture of her running down the field with the ball. This book is organized into chapters and that made it a lot easier to sort the information about Mia. In the middle of the book are nine colored pictures of Mia and her teammates. In would have made the book easier if there were more pictures, though. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves soccer!

On teh field with Mia Hamm by Matt Christopher was a very goodbook. I didn't have a very good idea who Mia Hamm really was though.The only thing I know is a professional soccer player. I aw the book and it looked pretty interesting. I'm about a quarter of the way through the book and I'm liking it so far. Usually I don't read books , let alone a whole book.

This book is by far the best i've ever read. It has great pictures and has lots of info on Mia. I think she is the best player i've ever seen. So this book was very interesting. If you love to play soccer, and enjoy watching and learning about Mia , this is THE perfect book! Once you start reading it, you won't stop reading until you've finished! SO GET OUT THERE,GET OFF YOUR BUTT, AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER, AND READ!

This was an awesome book! Mia is a really great player and this book told all about her life, family, and determination. I found out that even though she's had a lot of success, she's had difficulties too. I recommend it to anyone who likes Mia Hamm or soccer.
