Reading Moshe Safdie's book The City After the Automobile feels at times like dipping into science fiction, particularly when considering his call for publicly owned electric cars kept in storage depots and rented to the masses. Most of the book, however, is a discussion of how to revolutionize city planning in order to reduce the necessity for cars. Safdie, an architect, uses his own plans for rebuilding portions of cities around the world as the basis for his argument supporting strong land-control laws and restriction of urban sprawl. Instead of suburban shopping malls, Safdie proposes a "linear center," a central area of concentrated development that would serve as a public arena.
By restricting land use and concentrating development in city centers instead of on the fringes, Safdie argues that reliance on gas-guzzling automobiles would become a nonissue. His truly is a revolutionary idea, especially for a culture that idealizes suburbia. Although some of the suggestions in The City After the Automobile might seem fanciful, any argument in favor of better planning, less pollution, and less waste of time, money, and resources makes a lot of sense.
Customer Reviews:
It might be flawed, but it doesn't shy away from the ideal........2000-03-18
Flaws there might be. Logistical errors there might be. Totally impractical aspects there might be. But none of it detracts from what this book is. Some architects build to the practical present, and some build to the ideal future. Safdie does the latter. Genius does not require anything more than vision, and this book glows with that. A new way to live; a better way to exist. Humankind has never, in all the spans of history, moved forward. It has always been dragged by a few farsighted and great individuals. Buy this book. Read this book. And see an apsect of our future that will one day be a reality. It won't be Safdie's vision through and through. But it will be Safdie's vision. Leap in on the ground floor now, as humanity prepares to embark on its next stage of growth - without even realizing it.
An Architect's Inaccurate View of Urban Mobility.......1997-09-02
THE CITY AFTER THE AUTOMOBILE by Moshe Safdie.
I found it an interesting review of urban architecture and what many might find as more desirable high density living, assuming your dream is high density living. However, in my opinion, this book offers little in the way of mobility solutions.
One idea Safdie presents is the availability of U cars, presumably government provided, at airports, office buildings, park & ride lots, etc.
His system would save time parking but that is so little to be gained in return for such massive trade-offs. He maintains that aspect alone would allow rail to displace airline usage in the northeast corridor, make urban rail greatly used, etc., failing to recognize the inherent weaknesses in the "transfer" system he would make worse.
I could not determine how this improves on the present rental car or taxi system or why we would want to replace the existing system with a national system of providing cars for everyone everywhere.
I found the logistical questions unanswered; the assignment of personal responsibility for bad driving unaddressed; as well the notion that
every possible origin and destination would have to be provided with the maximum number of cars that would ever be needed at any one time at all
times and in all places.
The notion of all of our mobility provided by and maintained by the government is something that our society would not accept and could not afford.
Mr. Safdie's demonstrated knowledge of transportation history, transportation, in general, and transit, in particular, leave much to be desired.
He perpetuates that myth that streetcars were put out of business by car, oil and tire manufacturers.
He believes that intercity high speed mag lev systems running at 300 miles per hour are applicable within urban areas. How many stations could you have in an urban area and allow for trains to get to and slow down from 300 MPH speeds.
He talks about economies of scale disregarding the
higher costs of living in dense "downtown" areas.
Safdie's contention that communication and culture can exist only in high density appalls me.

Interesting but nothing new in this book.......1997-07-19
Persons interested in finding ways to get cities out of the auto and rail transit mess will be disappointed - because Safdie doesn't know anything about urban transportation. He does know about humane architecture and his thoughts on this subject are very good. He suggests two new urban transportation modes. One is the Utility-car, a small rentable probably electric car that is sitting around everywhere ready for you to use - if you have the right smart card to make it go. This is not a new idea as it is already being done widely in Europe and even in the U.S. The other is the Conveyor which is highly similar to Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) which has been worked on by many people around the world since the early 1970's. The Raytheon Company is building a U.S. version right now called PRT 2000. Beyond transportation, Safdie suggests we need the New Cardo, a linear downtown that has lots of street life. This idea appears in a plan for the Urban Detroit Area prepared in the 1960's by Doxiadis and Associates for the Detroit Edison Company. The book highlights the fact that architects and urban transportation planners never talk to each other. Apparently, architect's don't read the literature either. Persons interested in a advanced transportation technologies can see what is available and learn the history of this field at a website called Innovative Transportation Technologies: http://weber.u.washington.edu/~jbs/itran

Transform ordinary black-and-white photos into beautifully painted display art. This step-by-step workbook guides you through the process, assists with material selection and provides different approaches to different originals and other useful handcoloring tips. These techniques can be useful not only to the photographer, but artists and creative hobbyists as well.

The tradition of coloring photographs is almost as old as the medium itself, arising from the desire to soften the starkness of early photos. Handcoloring is very popular again, and this lovely book makes it easy to see why. Art photographer Dorskind clearly explains how she achieves her evocative and atmospheric "photopaintings," from materials and color basics, to composing a photo, to presenting and storing your work. Though the finished product may look like something only a professional photographer could produce, the technique is actually quite straightforward. And though the supplies are specialized, they are found at many art- and photo-supply stores, or can be ordered from a supplier in the book's resource guide. --Amy Handy

Handcoloring with Photo Oils. Emphasis on Portraiture........2004-10-26
"The Art of Handpainting Photographs" provides detailed instructions for handcoloring black-and-white photographs with Marshall's Photo Oils, which generally impart somewhat muted colors. Colored pencils are often used in conjunction with the oils. Author Cheryl Machat Dorskind briefly mentions other media that can be used in handcoloring photographs, but she does not discuss them. Although there is a chapter on landscapes, Dorskind is primarily a portrait artist, so this book's emphasis is portraiture.
Chapter 1, "Selecting a Good Photographic Print" makes suggestions in how to best photograph for handpainting, including choosing appropriate film and photographic paper. This is the book's weakest chapter. The advice could be confusing to beginning or intermediate photographers. For example, it recommends bracketing exposures, but does not explain that, unless you tell the lab, they will try to print them all the same. And there is not much point in bracketing old chemistry black-and-white film by just one EV anyway. It's better to vary the exposure in printing. The author doesn't mention chromogenic black-and-white film at all, which is less expensive, easier for amateurs to obtain, and would be fine if printed on a fiber-based paper. Dorskind doesn't recommend T-grain films or high speed films, but doesn't explain why. Her suggestion of infrared film is interesting, however, as its characteristic white foliage (when used with a dark red filter) is well-suited to handpainting. A handy chart lists texture, tone and contrast for recommended fiber-based and resin-coated papers. The option of toning prints prior to handcoloring is mentioned, but no instructions are provided. Oddly, I have never seen a book on handcoloring photographs mention digital prints. Most ink jet prints are unsuitable as the ink will run, but I am curious as to how permanent inks and dye-sublimation prints fare. No answer is forthcoming. The information about papers for conventional printing is very good, though.
Chapter 2, "Materials and the Work Station", explains supplies you will need and what conditions provide the best working environment for coloring photographs. Chapter 3 is dedicated to "Basic Color Theory". There are explanations of the color wheel, complementary colors, hue, value, intensity, color temperature and advice on how best to choose the most appropriate color to convey your intentions.
Chapter 4 discusses the five steps involved in "Preparing Your Photograph for Color Application": Spotting the photograph (retouching spots and scratches), masking the border, making wood/cotton skewers, arranging your color palette, and priming your photograph with Marshall's P.M. Solution.
Chapter 5 provides a step-by-step explanation of "The Basic Painting Process". The example the author uses is a portrait. She explains how to mix colors, paint the photo, and use pencils on top of oil paints. These instructions are very good and would be invaluable if you are handcoloring a portrait, as there are specific suggestions for how to achieve the correct skin tone. Chapter 6, "More About Portraiture", provides further valuable advice to portraitists by explaining how to best paint red, blond, brown and gray hair. There is also some discussion of painting portrait backgrounds for various effects.
Chapter 7, "Focusing on the Environment" is about handpainting landscapes. The author discusses color, tone, and composition in rural and urban landscapes, but there are no detailed instructions. Chapter 8, "Presenting Your Artwork" gives advice for how to store, mat, and frame your painted photographs. Chapter 9, "Special Assignments" mentions some specialized uses of handpainting, such as vintage photographs. There is a list of Resources in the back of the book.
excellent work.......2002-03-20
I have researched and bought everything I can find on this subject and this book is by far the most helpful that I have found. It is easy reading. The photographs are inspiring. Even people who aren't interested in the technique love looking at the beauty of this book. I am a professional hand colorist and I use this book almost every day as a reference tool and also as inspiration. Anyone who wants to learn this technique should own their own copy of this book.
A True Photobuff's Delight.......2001-10-10
This wildly popular and highly comprehensive treatise on Handpainted Photography has become the bible for its genre. (A big seller in Michigan art stores) I noticed that competing publishers (see the phony review by Photobuff) have tried everything to stop this giant, but quality always succeeds. I learned the art of handpainting from Cheryl Dorskind. Great work! Can't wait for your next book.
Good Technical Information.......2001-05-17
While the subjects of the photographs in this book may be a little too saccharin for everyone, the author makes up for this in content. There is much useful information on techniques, supplies, and use of color. Of the three books I have read on the subject, this is the one I would recommend -- regardless of whether the subject matter appeals to you or not. The information provided can readily be transferred to the subject matter of your choice. If you can only buy one book, buy this one!
Smart, beautiful, helpful.......2001-02-24
Highly sophisticated images grace the pages of this unique guide to an otherwise complicated craft. Professor Dorskind's compassion for the beginner and respect for the expert shine in this brilliant work. In addition to step by step instruction, she generously shares her personal photopainting struggles. Her college teaching experience and fine arts background help define "The Art of Handpainting Photography" as the outstanding work (and probably the best) in the field.
A must buy for the true "photo buff."
Book Description
Restorative justice pioneer Howard Zehr is also an accomplished photographer. He begins his latest book with a confession-"I have written this book in part to encourage myself to slow down, to heighten my imagination, to renew myself while I gain a new view of the creation and the creator." With this book, Zehr makes a gift to anyone who would like to couple photography with seeing and thinking more deeply. In each chapter he offers a Purpose, a Problem, and an Activity with a camera in order to "practice mindfulness." You'll not need a fancy camera, but if you have one it won't hurt. Zehr's chapter-by-chapter exercises are aimed at heightening visual awareness and imagination-all while doing good and working for justice. Zehr knows the risks of spending oneself: "This book is part of The Little Books of Justice and Peacebuilding series because seekers of justice and peace are often so committed to their cause that they take too little time to reflect and to appreciate the world around them. These ideas and exercises have given me a framework and encouraged my own ongoing spiritual discipline through the medium of photography." The author gratefully acknowledges the numerous authors and publishers who granted permission to reprint excerpts in this book.

Aqua Knight Ruliya, who wants to save young Ashika from enslavement, is under the spell of the master of a giant submerged castle. Will her one friend in the castle save her from the claws of giant crabs?
Customer Reviews:
Seems unfocused.......2006-09-23
In volume 1 of Aqua Knight we met Ashika, the young island boy, and Ruliya, an Aqua Knight. Ashika and the the mysterious sphere that powered the lighthouse were kidnapped by the insane Alcantara and his minions. Ruliya set out after them and encountered Tagmec, the knight of Parca (which seems to be a mythical land of the dead) who gave Ruliya the sword of Parca.
The first third of volume 2 focuses on Ashika and his captors. It explains a little of their history, but mostly it just reinforces that Alcantara is a loon. The bulk of this volume focuses on Ruliya who is brought to Castle Zondac, which floats on the ocean in the middle of nowhere. Something about the castle puts Ruliya's mind in a haze and she can't remember her quest. We learn a bit about her history and her parents. Eventually she breaks the spell and must fight the demon knight Lord Basso, using the Sword of Parca in battle for the first time.
The artwork is amazing. Yukito Kishiro's figures in motion are the best in the industry. The grayscale zipotone is used masterfully, better than any other black-and-white book out there, manga or otherwise.
But the weak point is the pacing. Ashika, who I assumed was the main character, only gets half the space of Ruliya. This wouln't bother me so much if it were broken up, focussing on Ashika then Ruliya then Ashika again then Ruliya again, etc. But the bulk of the story is just one solid lump of Ruliya in the castle.
I think that Kishiro sacrificed pacing for art. He focuses more on the pictures, using a lot of double page spreads and careful staging, and he lets the story get away from him. I felt this way when reading his seminal piece Battle Angel Alita, but it's more noticeable here where he follows multiple characters. I feel like the story could have been told just as effectively in less pages.
But I could be wrong. Maybe everthing that Ruliya went through becomes important in volume 3.

Book Description
Since his death in 1994, the understanding of Jacques Ellul's significance appears to have deepened considerably. A colloquium devoted to his work in
Technique, held six months before his death, drew scholars from all over the world to Bordeaux, France. Four years later, in September 1997, the Penn State University conference on Education and Technology attracted over two hundred participants, most of whom gave evidence of interaction with Ellul's thought. His contribution to the study of the sociology and theology of technology has now been universally acknowledged and built upon. Few scholars seem to appreciate, however, the full scope of his work, especially in areas outside their expertise. One of the goals of this volume is to present the totality of his work, as thoroughly as it can now be established, so that interested persons can explore what he wrote in detail.

Think Big, Act Small : How America's Best Performing Companies Keep the Start-up Spirit Alive
ASIN: 0471322857 |
Book Description
Most workers are conditioned to view themselves as one-dimensional in relation to their companyâas a salesperson, or an engineer, or a manager. But imagine the possibilities if everyone in your organization started thinking and acting like entrepreneursâlike owners of the business. Imagine if your employees shared the same beliefs, both in their abilities and in the purpose of your business, and focused all their energies on making that business successfulâknowing that they, in turn, would become successful as well. That is the power of an ownership culture, and this book will show you how to mobilize human intellect and ingenuity for competitive advantage.
Act Like an Owner is an action guide to building a culture of employee ownership within an organization. Authors Blonchek and O'Neill present their business model, "Act Like an Owner," which grew out of their experience building information technology service businesses. This model is a roadmap for applying today's most important management practices in a competitive, rapidly changing environment. The authors use this approach as part of their consulting practice, and are the first to detail how to implement such a program company-wide.
Act Like an Owner introduces the internal franchise framework that can be used for unlocking the entrepreneurial spirit in your organization. From this book, you'll learn how to define your company's operating modelâthe way you choose to do businessâand then extend the model to your employees. The authors then explain how to link employee behaviors to each element of business performance. They demonstrate how to focus your entire organization on a business goal while addressing employees' individual needs for opportunity and growth. You'll learn how to attract and hire people with a positive, entrepreneurial attitude who can create an environment that establishes the values and behaviors you need.
At the heart of the internal franchise is the ownership culture, a corporate culture built on principles and values that compel everyone in your organization to think and act like an owner of the business. The authors describe the impact of an ownership culture on an organization, illustrating how you can build equity in that culture and make it part of your company's brand identity. They explore the power of such a culture to create an environment of shared values and goals. You'll learn the formula for creating an ownership culture and putting it to work in your organization, and you'll hear the perspectives of senior executives at companies currently adopting the "Act Like an Owner" program, including those at Aspen Systems, CACI, STAC, PSINet, and ConSonics. In addition, the authors apply the ownership culture model to one of the most pressing problems facing business today: attracting and retaining skilled workers.
Filled with examples, anecdotes, and techniques, Act Like an Owner will motivate anyone trying to build a successful business that starts with people. "What a wonderful book. The only way organizations will be able to compete in the future is if their people act like owners and they create an ownership culture. A must read for the 21st century." âKen Blanchard, coauthor, The One Minute Manager.
"A terrific addition to any library. Marty O'Neill and Robert Blonchek have crafted an elegantly simple and uniquely powerful approach to enhancing the performance of any organizationâlarge or small. I wholeheartedly recommend it." âDouglas R. Conant, President, U.S. Foods Group, Nabisco.
"The new workplace demands that businesses find effective ways to release the power of people. Blonchek and O'Neill's 'Internal Franchise' idea turns the franchise concept inside out and provides a roadmap for ownership and empowerment in any organization." âAlan Randolph, coauthor, Empowerment Takes More Than a Minute.
"Act Like an Owner gives you a treasure map to unlocking the fortunes that lie throughout an organization." âBill Toler, President, Campbell Sales Company.
"An insightful look at the elements of an ownership culture and how to put them to work in your company in order to attract, retain and motivate talented people." âJ. Robert Beyster, Founder, Chairman and CEO, SAIC.
"Act Like an Owner gives you the tools you need to develop and empower your employees to think and act like entrepreneurs." âAndrew C. Taylor, President and CEO, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and 1997 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Winner.
Customer Reviews:
Ownership Culture.......2001-01-19
"Early on, as a company of just six people, we wrote a corporate creed that documented our principles and values-our culture. This creed simply stated that we would build a successful business by focusing on the customer, encouraging entrepreneurial spirit, empowering everyone, and sharing both success and failure. We call this culture an ownership culture. We discovered that this environment was enjoyable to work in and was a powerfull strategy...To this day, when we ask people associated with the company why it was successful, and why they were committed, the answer is always the same. It was empowerment; it was team-spirit; it was vision. It was mutual respect and trust. Most important, it was the culture...This book is a distillation of our experience in creating, nurturing, and maintaining an ownership culture...The ALO model is a synthesis and practical application of leading business concepts along with our own personal experiences...The ALO model is not academic theory, it's a roadmap for applying today's most important management practices to the real-world problem of building an information-era business...In this book, we present the internal franchise, the foundation of ALO and a framework for unlocking entrepreneurial spirit in your organization...The heart of the internal franchise is the ownership culture, a corporate culture built on the principles and values of the entrepreneur. An ownership culture compels everyone in your organization to think and act like an owner of the business" (from the Preface).
In this context, Robert Blonchek and Martin O'Neill divide their book into three parts:
I. In this part, they present the internal franchise as a framework for putting ownership culture to work as a competitive weapon. According to them an internal franchise consists of three components: an operating model, entrepreneurial employees, and an ownership culture. They argue that "An internal franchise is similar to a traditional franchise operation. In an internal franchise the company makes its operating model explicit and then 'franchises' the operating model to its employees. The employees are then coached, mentored, and trained to operate the business at the highest level of proficiency. In an internal franchise, the franchise agreement is not a legal binding contract, it is the company's culture-an ownership culture."
II. In this part, they present a formula for creating an ownership culture. They argue that an ownership culture is a corporate culture based on TRUST:
* Teach your employees your operating model.
* Reward them based on the performance of the business and their contribution to that performance.
* Unconditionally support their actions in order to develop a truly empowering environment.
* Share information so that everyone can make effective business decisions.
* Be Trustworthy by making and keeping commitments.
III. In this part, they apply an ownership culture to one of the most pressing problems facing business today: attracting and retaining skilled workers. They argue that "Without a doubt, attracting to talent is a key business challenge for most organizations. But that's only half the problem-changing employee attitudes and expectations make it difficult to hold on to talented workers as well. In fact, the loss of talented workers forces many companies to reduce their growth projections and negatively affects their ability to compete."
Finally, they write, "It's time for the grand finale in the drama of twentieth-century business. It's financial capital versus human capital, and we'll soon know who wins. But all indications are that the winning businesses in the next century will be those that understand how to mobilize human intellect and ingenuity for competitive advantage. Adopting the principle presented in Act Like an Owner is the best way to ensure that you end up on the side of the winners."
Highly recommended.
Everything Old Is New Again.......2000-01-27
What do you know about a book's authors if they ...
* Begin by congratulating themselves for their company's success?
* Quote favorable reviews on the first page, particularly from executives whose success stories are cited in the text?
* Claim to synthesize "the leading management approaches and business strategies," and then provide virtually no footnotes (15 notes for a 222-page volume)?
Robert Blonchek and Martin O'Neill are consultants. Like many consultants not overburdened by humility, they are proud to preach their doctrine and win new converts to their views - and their services. And as experienced public speakers, Blonchek and O'Neill have accustomed themselves to condensing their notions into a few words in large type. When your creed boils down to "run your business like my business", you want to keep your language as simple and transparent as possible.
Unfortunately, in the case of Act Like an Owner, simple language has produced simple thinking. The book supports all the right things - empowerment, entrepreneurial spirit, open information, Mom and apple pie - but they don't offer any striking insights or tools to get you there. Their central (tautological) concept, that "the ownership culture is the franchise agreement" within the organization, is like a tenor singing bass: less deep than it sounds. And the book's air of breathless naivete is both endearing and baffling; readers are given standard questions to identify customer needs, for example, and then advised to match the needs to their products' benefits. Elementary, my dear Watson.
"Elementary" is in fact the key to this book. Despite its claims to be applicable to large organizations, Act Like an Owner reads like Entrepreneurship 101. It's designed to answer such questions as:
* What is an operating model?
* Why is empowerment important?
* What is a corporate culture?
* Why is communication valuable?
If you find such questions startling and galvanizing, snap up your copy now. If you answered such questions long ago, or if you find them distractingly rudimentary, move on, perhaps to a book that recognizes the value of the compound-complex sentence. There's nothing new under the sun in Act Like an Owner; whether you enjoy the book will depend on how long you've spent in the shade.
A truly inspirational book!.......1999-09-14
If only more companies would realize the power that lies in creating an ownership culture in their organizations! This book presents a truly common sense approach to empowering employees to think and act like owners of a company. I have never been more motivated and have never enjoyed reading a business book as much as this one! I believe this business philosophy would help make a valuable difference in every organization!
Good counsel for building an 'ownership culture.'.......1999-06-28
"This is an important book--regardless if your organization is for-profit or >like mine--a not-for profit healthcare provider. In fact, industry segments >experiencing tremendous growth and change pressures such as healthcare, >financial services, technology goods and services should take this book to >heart. The premise is sound and it's written from a practical, down to earth >standpoint by authors who have successfully 'been there--done that.' > >
Great book with "down to earth" advice that works - no B.S.!.......1999-05-04
You are either going to adopt the advice and strategy that O'Neill and Blonchek propose.......or else wish you had! Do your employees a favor and buy & read this book.

Book Description
Once again, in this second volume of the Patrons and Protectors series, Michael O'Neill McGrath's images of saints as patrons of occupations remind us that we are called to build God's reign through our labor. From the first-century Martha, who served meals to Jesus in her home, to the recently canonized Katharine Drexel, who built schools and colleges to improve the lives of Native Americans and African Americans, work and labor have been essential to Christian life.
As in the first volume of this series, McGrath's art delights and instructs. Who is that road construction worker? Which saint is patron of cabdrivers? Why is there an ostrich in a scientist's lab? Alongside McGrath's commentary about why a saint is associated with a particular occupation are essays by men and women engaged in that work. As we see the variety of ways human beings contribute their talents and skills, we may be inspired to view our jobs with fresh eyes.
Hardback, 10 × 10, 64 pages.

He's done it again! More, more!!.......2002-05-29
...
It's true, a picture is worth a thousand words... but in the case of Brother Mickey's work, the words make the pictures even more alive. He takes the time to visit actual workplacs to capture details before beginning each "portrait." The attention to (and inclusion of)detail is magnificent and adds authenticity to an already marvelous work.
This book -- and its predecessor -- is a must for the bookshelves of religious eduators in all settings, and makes a great gift!
Can't wait for next year!

Book Description
"...the book is excellent and should do really well. It is well written and comprehensive, and it meets the needs of sociologists." John Scott, University of Essex
* What have been the major innovations in contemporary social and political thought in the twentieth century?
* How have these ideas challenged the canon?
* What are the implications of these new ideas for our understanding of the key theoretical concepts?
This new and accessible introduction to contemporary social and political theory examines the impact of new ideas such as feminist theory, poststructuralism, hermeneutics and critical theory. The innovations brought by these currents to the intellectual traditions of Europe and America are outlined and assessed. Designed for the newcomer to theory, no previous knowledge is assumed and a student-friendly approach is adopted throughout.
Rather than focus on individual thinkers, the authors take a 'conceptual' approach by examining contemporary theories through themes such as 'critique', 'rationality', 'power', 'the subject', 'the body' and 'culture'. Each chapter considers the evolution of a concept and examines the major debates and transformations that have taken place in that area. The needs of the undergraduate are kept in mind at all times and, in addition to an extensive bibliography, the book contains a useful glossary of key terms and concepts.
Customer Reviews:
an excellent and accessible text book........1999-02-17
The book introduces the student to the sometimes difficult ideas of contemporary thinkers such as Foucault, Derrida, Habermas and so forth. Organised thematically and covering topics such as 'power', 'language', 'culture', 'the body' and 'the subject' the book is comprehensive yet always readable and informative. It is certainly essential reading for students looking to orient themselves in the study of contemporary social and political theory. I found it a very helpful introduction to the area and have used it a lot for essays I have had to write. Although I have only had the book for a few weeks it is already almost falling apart due to over-use. It made the things my professors have been teaching me much more clear than I ever thought they would be. I highly recommend it to students everywhere.
