the book is not at all thorough, but is thumb nails of so called hybrid buildings. There is no distinction between mixed use projects and hybrid buildings. hybrid buildings is relatively a new concept but buildings from the sixties are cited as examples. A no no buy.

This book contains twenty chapters covering a wide range of research in the fields of scientific conservation of art and archaeometry. The common thread is the use of radiation in these analyses. The term "radiation" is used in the widest possible sense. The book encompasses the use of electromagnetic radiation in its microwave, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, x ray and &ggr; ray forms and the use of particulate forms such as electrons, neutrons and charged particles for which the Planck's Law relation applies. In many cases there is an interplay between the two forms: for example, proton induced x ray emission (PIXE), secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). As far as possible the chapters have been arranged in order of ascending particle energy. Thus it commences with the use of microwaves and finishes with the use of &ggr; rays. The authors were chosen on the basis of their expertise as practitioners of their particular field of study. This means that, for example, the mature fields of study such as the IR and UV study of paintings have been written by senior researchers, whereas for the emerging fields of synchrotron and neutron techniques the chapters have been written by talented researchers at the commencement of their careers.

This is a book very interesting because shows how radiations can be use in two particular fields of study: history and nuclear sciences. It is useful in order to motivate students for futur research in this field.

R&D alliances and outsourcing elements of the new product development process are now commonplace practices among many firms. However, little previous work has examined how these organizational choices influence project knowledge and learning. Based on a comparison of three new product development projects in the software industry, this paper examines how task partitioning in the project influences learning and knowledge development within the firm. The paper suggests that internal development projects encourage synthetic learning and development of architectural and tacit knowledge; in contrast, outsourcing and joint ventures encourage analytic learning and development of component and explicit knowledge.

I actually thought I was purchasing the software which would have typed up many of the sections for me - which would have been nice, but I was very impressed with how well organized and informative the book is.
Many items include the actual state laws regarding rental property which is very helpful because many of the websites are not easy to navigate.

This book gives you a good first overview, but you absolutely have to get a book on your state's regulations as well, especially if you live in a highly regulated state like Massachusetts. This book for example only gives you a vague idea on how to handle the security deposit, but Massachusetts state law is very specific and not following the rules precisely may cost you the deposit plus penalties.
