Disappointing.......2006-05-18
Yes the pictures are nice, but I was not impressed with the ideas or information. All the ideas are for modern homes. The summary said it provided ideas for the way we live today - I expected ideas for all styles.

Don't judge by the cover.......2007-04-08
The pictures inside kinda suck, some is okay. It is not worth explaining in detail. It's too basic and mostly outdated. Colored pencil has come a long way since this book. There are many more techniques to better achieve the likeness you are trying to achieve. There are better books sold by better artists too.
It's just unnecessary. Some books are good for life, this is not one of them.
Color for beginners.......2000-04-29
This book, which I bought in hard back, is somewhere to begin drawing with color, and allows you to grow without outgrowing the book. Very nice.

More thanJust Scrapbook Pages!.......2003-06-25
I was a complete novice at scrapbooking. I created a rather lame wedding album (IMHO), but I didn't have the money, old pictures, talent, etc to get into scrapbooking "for real". Also my first hubby had stolen a LOT of the early pics of our kids, so I had very little to work with.
I have a 1-year-old granddaughter, and she has inspired me to shoot entire rolls of film trying to capture her elusive little smile. Ah, the sweet agony! But what to do with all those pictures? Make a scrapbook! LOL So, now that I've started working on the little one's book, some of my now-grown children's missing pics suddenly re-appeared. It's a miracle!
I found this book at Michael's on the discount table, thought it looked interesting, & brought it home. More than Memories II, Beyond the Basics is rich in interesting projects. They give step-by-step, assuming no prior knowledge, recipe-like, easy to follow instructions. Stress-relieving reassurances are given throughout the review & techniques section, showing consideration for beginners. I like working in so many different mediums, sometimes all at the same time! I am happy to have found this book, and this new hobby, and I look forward to receiving the rest of the books by the same people (I ordered them yesterday!). I was also inspired to go online and look on PBS to see the TV show that the book is based on: "More Than Memories". I didn't find that show...maybe it's off the air...but I did find info for great family albums; complete with family history, her-story (oral stories women usually keep), and much, much more! And with the help of my books, I can put it all together into cool projects to keep and to give!
Beautiful PBS Book On Creatively Preserving Family History !.......2000-08-16
This new 128 page 8 1/2 x 11" fully color illustrated book takes you beyond the basics in how to save your family photos, memorabilia and histories. A very helpful book that guides you step-by-step on how to photo tinting, paper embossing, photo transferring, making greeting cards, puzzles and time capsules. Every topic is clearly described and every page contains very large, full color completed photos of each project. Each project provides the list of supplies needed and a simple step-by-step description of what to do. There are chapters on: home and family, heritage, travel and vacations, babies, holidays, sports, kids, weddings, nature and scenery, school, celebrations, memory gifts and more. Wow ! Just seeing the photos makes you want to act on the boxes of stuff you have sitting in the closet gathering dust. A truly great book that is part of the Public Television Series. Very useful.

It can give you a headace just figureing out all this.......1999-07-18
The further adventures of Nathan Summers as he grows up to become the man known as Cable. Scott Summers is his father and Jean Grey is his mother (sort of), all other details you can find out as you read this story. To say it gets a bit confussing would be an understatement.
Customer Reviews:
Sorting out the Summers family tree.......2006-07-19
The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix trade paperback collects the 1994 miniseries that attempted to sort out one of the most bizarre family trees in comics, even by X-Men standards.
In this series, newlyweds Scott Summers and Jean Grey, otherwise known as X-Men Cyclops and um, Jean Grey (the name Marvel Girl must be passé) are snatched from their island honeymoon and sent 2,000 years into the future by their elderly daughter Rachel (who arrived there from yet another future timeline) to watch over Scott's infant son Nathan, who had been sent to that very future in order to survive the techno-organic virus that was killing him in "our" time. Rachel, like her mom, is the sometime host of the powerful Phoenix force, and Nathan would grow up to become the mutant warrior known as Cable. Nathan has a cloned duplicate called Stryfe, who is being raised as the heir to Apocalypse. Oh yes, Nathan's mother was Madeline Pryor, a now deceased (sort of) clone of Jean Grey.
I told you it was complicated!
This series attempts to weave these very different threads into a somewhat cohesive pattern. Scott and Jean end up spending more than a decade in the future, which gives them the opportunity to actually raise young Nathan, who is unaware of exactly who his guardians really are. The "Dayspring Family" eventually joins the underground resistance movement and makes what appears to be a final confrontation with Apocalypse. I say "appears" because Apocalypse is killed about as often as Jean Grey, and with similar long term success.
Scott Lobdell does an admirable job with an obviously difficult group of characters, origins, and events. While the series is not as fun and exciting as other X-Men adventures, it is a necessary story to tell, if for no other reason than to clean up the storylines abandoned by so many other writers.
Gene Ha's artwork is absolutely incredible. Ha is one of the most underrated artists working today, with an attention to detail that has to be seen to be believed. His art totally sets the tone of the series, and makes the otherworldly setting and characters seem that much more believable.
Overall, the Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix is a key part of X-Men history. It may not be as fascinating as the Dark Phoenix Saga or the Age of Apocalypse, but it is an important part of the lives of several key X-Men characters.
I bought this TWICE..........2005-12-21
...because I was stupid enough to lend the miniseries to a friend. Anyway, I liked it so much I HAD to have it.
This is demi-science-fiction story about future ruled by Apocalypse and childhood of Nate Summers, known as Cable. It is EXTREMELY well written , and art is incredible, just like anything Gene Ha does. Reccomended for Marvel fans in general, other people would have too much trouble understanding who-is-who .
History of the Summers Family Tree.......1999-01-26
There are simply too many people in the X-universe that carry the name "Summers". Well, at least this book clears some questions about one of them (Now if it wouldn't raise so many more). The story starts just after X-Men 30, with Scott Summers and Jean Grey-Summers (newly wed), are pulled 2000 years into the future by Mother Askani (Who happens to be Rachel Summers, the alternate future daughter of the newlyweds, who is a major time traveler). Their mission. Raise baby Nathan (who is, if you want to get technical, Rachel's older baby brother [did that even make sense?]) So here are Scott (who goes by "Slym") and Jean (Who goes by "Redd") raising one of the most powerful mutants, who has to disguise himself as a human, in a world where it is "survival of the fittest." And in this world, humans are not counted amongst the fittest, and are trated as such (Very much like in modern day comics with mutants). The unfortunate thing is that the series covers a few days in each book, over a period of twelve years. It gives us only a glimps into Cable's life. Oh well, The Askani Son series picked up the pieces there!
An X-cellent work! Clears away lots of gray areas........1998-12-05
This graphic novel compiles the mini-series with the same title. It is very good reading and helps to clear away the grey (no pun intended) areas relating to cable's background in particular. All in all an X-cellent book. Excelcior!

Book Description
He dropped money bags from low-flying biplanes on remote rubber plantations and tin mines, spent nights in deep jungle longhouses, aboard fishing kelongs manned by aboriginals far out at sea, in mosquito-infested swamps collecting malarial parasites and on beaches where giant leatherback turtles came to lay their eggs. He accompanied commonwealth troops hunting for terrorists on the Thai-Malaysian border, flew reconnaissance patrols seeking guerilla camps and escorted Field Marshal Templer on his return visit to the country he had liberated from communist insurrection. He met Lady Edwina Mountbatten, wife of the architect of India's independence, interviewed actors Orson Welles and Sir Donald Wolfit, and was conversing with the French Ambassador when a ghost walked into the room. He worked with William Holden, Susannah York and Capucine on a film in which nearly everyone ended up miscast. He helped conceal an escaped prisoner in a hilarious fake jail-break, trailed the Sultan of Pahang on a regal progress through Malaysia's largest state and befriended one of President Soekarno's infamous red beret parachutists, sent on a sabotage mission during the height of Indonesian confrontation. Mostly he loved the land and its people, so much that he shunned the cocktail circuit and the city life for the simple pleasures of the kampong and the open road, learning the language and feeling his way towards what French author Henry Fauconnier had called "the Soul of Malaya". With Distant Archipelagos, Peter Moss follows up his account of an Anglo-Indian childhood, in Bye-Bye Blackbird, by painting a vivid portrait of another vanished world.

PSI .......2007-05-29
I got my PSI book in record time. I actually received the PSI book days before I expected to get it. The book was in excellent shape. I am very satisfied with the book and amazon.
A-1 Books.......2006-08-08
Great book, I had to use a friends book to prepare for my upcoming exam. I order this book via Amazon with sale via A-1 Books. Accordingly it was indicated as "in stock" and would be shipped within 2 days. I ordered the book on July 29th, received a e-mail from A-1 a week later telling me they are out-of-stock on this item and they expect it to be in stock in 3 days and I should expect delivery by the 17th, which is much too late. I considered what A-1 did to be false advertising, baiting and switching to steer me away from other vendors who had the book for sale and ready to ship. They knew they didn't have the book in stock, why didn't they update their Amazon inventory listing. It should be crossed referenced/verified before a customer's credit card is charged. Amazon is partially to blame for not monitoring the vendors they represent; and giving customer false expected ship dates. I will never order anything again from A-1 or Amazon. They didn't even have the common decency to offer me free overnight shipping for their mistake. That's not good customer service at all!!
Great Study Guide.......2006-03-10
I took the PSI Affiliate Broker exam for the first time and passed. This is a great book to review prior to taking the exam. I had a great teacher for pre-licensed 1 & 2 courses. However, I used the PSI book as a review. I took the exams in the PSI book which help me identify with my weak areas. I recommend this book for anyone who is about to take the PSI Affiliate Broker exam. Good Luck!!
EXCELLENT STUDY RESOURCE.......2005-12-28
This study guide was instrumental in my passing the National Real Estate Exam for the state of Tennessee. The study guide is a condensed version of the the information that you will need to pass the exam. Also, the guide prepares you for the different test strands on the exam and helpful study hints.
