This book will not teach you how to sew curtains but it will give you loads of ideas for your window treatment.However, it is only ideal for those looking for classical designs since no modern styles are shown.

It also lacks new creative designs, I always felt that each design is familiar to me.

Great source of ideas for elaborate window treatments.......2003-04-20

The book contains line drawings of styles for all the various elements of a window treatment as well as ideas for dealing with different kinds of windows. The book decomposes window treatments into pelmets, valences, etc., etc., etc., with pages of line drawings of styles for each element. Then, it pulls the various elements together into a total look.

I was leant this book, but I found it so helpful I bought my own. It has drawbacks. If you want something simple and/or you plan to make them yourself, this probably isn't the book for you. There are no instructions or measurements of any kind, just the drawings. But if you're working with a decorator who knows a professional, or are a decorator yourself, then this book will help your imagination run wild.

This book is really great for any windows. Mostly if you are a interior designer. It gaves you lot of good examples which curtains will good in what rooms with different types of furnitures. This book gaves you something that no one esle has. You will be the first one to have that design in your room before someone esle does

Curtain Sketchbook 2.......2000-03-28

This is a great book if you're looking for unique window treatments. I wanted something everyone else didn't have. It is not a how-to book but the illustrations are very detailed.

The Sketchbook has page after page of ideas for easy reference and presentation during consultations. Cuts your workload with ready- made artwork. I want her latest edition printed in 1998 or 99.

I found this text very frustrating. There is no instruction in technique beyond some simple perspective lessons. If you want to know how to accurately render different materials you will have to find another book. You can tell there are many more steps he uses to achieve his renderings, possibly even the use of other materials or media with his markers, but there is no information about it in his book. It is the text our professor uses for our Intro to Color Rendering class and I think there has to be something better than this!

I really feel that the book was written in easy to use format. The instructions were very clear and concise.

I was disappointed with this book. I felt it needed more examples from different artists, rather than just the author's work. In addition, the book uses strange font and formatting which is sometimes difficult to read. In general, the information is easy to understand, but I have found other books present the same information in more concise terms. Okay to add to a collection, but not recommended to be the main source for any interior design project.

Great book.......2003-01-16

I am a Graphic Design student in Kansas City. Finding anyone to teach you marker rendering is impossible, yet the field demands you have this talent. This book is a great start. I've looked all over for good books on this subject and they are rare. The book is in FULL color, with plenty of exercises. He also tells you the exact marker he used in each drawing, to keep u on track. And works through all perspective problems. It's inspiring just flipping through the pages. However, it still demands practice and discipline, but with this book it will help. If you've been scared of marker rendering, start with this book, it will get u on your feet.

I bought this book for my 14 yr old son who LOVES architecture. He is taking an architecture class in eight grade and loves it. The book is probably meant to be for college students/adults, but it is clearly written so that a younger person with similar interests can understand it.

Home Means Nevada!.......2001-12-18

A wonderful book! I am far from my home in Nevada and swear I can smell the sagebrush, cattle and mountain streams as I turn the pages. This book brings the Silver State alive! I have had many comments from visitors who pick up the book and are amazed. Most are unaware of the beauty in this area generally thought of as a desolate "wasteland". Just like the State song, this book really showed that "Home Means Nevada" to me!

GOOD INITIAL TEXTBOOK ON BANK MANAGEMENT.......2006-02-06

This book is a good example of what a textbook should be like. It explains the topic of bank management with competence, pointing out all the major issues without going too deep (and boring the beginner). After reading the first few chapters, the interested reader feels knowledgeable enough to intelligently discuss the topic.

The book is well segmented, with an initial explanation of bank financial statements and the main risks and opportunities associated with bank management. These chapters empower the beginner with confidence of understanding exactly how a bank makes money. Bank management seems like a very complex topic, something outside the reach of normal people; it is not true, anyone with a decent volume of training could perform the basic management activities of a bank.

I highly recommend this book for anyone working at a bank in order to understand the business, its risks and the main drivers of performance. If you are considering bank entrepreneurship, this is a must. There is a chapter that demonstrates the initial processes of bank management in a very simple way, which is interesting and encouraging to someone following down that pathway.

It is a very useful book with a clear style and it presents an in-depth analysis of commercial banks. But it lacks one thing that could have made it much better: it doesnt have a solutions manual and a guide for the cases..It presents difficulties for the self learners like me...

Want to know about banking ?.......2001-04-22

The essentials of banking are clearly explained in this book.Topics such as the management of bank capital, asset/liability management,international banking and bank mergers and acquisitions are explained with detail and clarity. Though this book doesn't deal with internet banking it helps you understand the underlying nature of every bank. I specially like the chapter where the authors explain the profitability of banks and how the banking business measures it.

The authors seem to be out-of-touch with today's high-tech banking and trends. A new generation of bankers moving at the "speed of thought" has left the contents of this book in the dust. Not a good pick for educating students who will lead the pack in the new millennium.

This is an excellent book which has dealt with the subject of Banking in depth. It is scientific in its approach and made the subject understandable to even morons like me (as quoted by my wife).. Do not miss this..

In the context of the evolution of affirmative action at the national and state levels, this study offers an empirical account of the citizens' movement in California that successfully resulted in the passage of a constitutional amendment to abolish such preferences in public education, public employment, and public contracting. It describes how the concept of affirmative action was transmuted into quotas and set-asides even in those situations where there was no credible evidence of past discrimination. This process was aided by Presidential Executive Orders as well as by some Supreme Court decisions which, until the late 1980s, failed to provide clear parameters of compensatory versus preferential actions. The California movement arose to reassert the original vision of equality as contained in the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Raza, Anderson, and Custred, who have studied the historical development of the phenomenon and have witnessed its actual operation, lift the curtain of secrecy that surrounds such preferences. This book challenges the notion that affirmative action is a benign and "temporary" measure that simply provides a helping hand to those who are disadvantaged. There is ample evidence of the institutionalization of preferences that generally provide advantages to those who could otherwise compete on their own merits. Such unfair competitive advantages, provided by government agencies and public educational institutions have neither moral nor political majority support; however, they continue to exist through pressure of political interest groups, liberal political ideology, and entrenched bureaucrats who administer the system. Quite contrary to some people's thinking, the system of preferences may no longer be considered either permanent or necessary.
