A Book To Pass To Your Children.......2000-11-15

Never have I found a more informative book on "the People" as this one. Being Native American myself, and wanting to learn more about my heritage, this book answered questions I've had for years. The pictures are amazingly vibrant. This book makes me proud to be a part of the Native American family.

I have had the pleasure of meeting over half of the people featured in this book. For those wishing to know more about Native American culture and pow wows, one would be hard pressed to find a better book. A beautiful illustration of a magnificent culture.

Wondeful photographs and well written text........1999-04-04

For anyone interested in Powwow and the American Indians, this book is a treat! It is loaded with beautiful photos of the dancers and their regalia as well as a wonderfully readable text. Each dancer profiled shares his or her own thoughts on being Indian in America today as well as what Powwow means to them. I found it hard to put down and I learned so much from these wonderful people who were willing to share their experiences.

I found this book to be entertaining and infomative. It moves the reader to a better understanding of the Native American Indian, their customs and their celebration of life.

What a great little book!.......2006-01-13

I wish I'd had something like this when I was working in the food service industry. This book, with brief bullet points that still manage to spell out the practical details as necessary, gives the seasoned restaurateur hundreds of tips on how to cut costs--everything from trimming energy expenses (run the water supply for your ice machine through the refrigerator or freezer to pre-cool it) [...] It seems like it would be very practical to copy pages out of the book and include them in your employee training packets or post them in the kitchen. I've found that the more employees understand the reasons behind your policies--and the big differences they make on profit margins and customer satisfaction--the more likely they are to follow them. The book has tips for all parts of the food service industry, from fast food to fine dining, and states the reasoning behind each tip in a way that would be easy to explain to others. The book is well written, clearly organized, and includes a helpful index. If you're looking for something specific, you should be able to find it in moments. I would recommend this to any food-service business looking to increase its profit margins and willing to do the planning and work necessary to make it happen. This is not a quick fix book (although quite a few of the tips would take little time or money to implement), but a thorough and honest guide on how to cut costs over the long run.

Great Book! I Found These step-by-step guides easy-to-read, and easy to understand! The books are packed with information. They reminded me of "cliff Notes" from my college days.The information is comprehensive without the fluff you find in so many of the more expensive books out there on the subject. The books are also packed with resources such as phone numbers and the web sites of the companies they are discussing - there is no "theory" just great information.

From the supplier: The success of efforts to control cleaning costs lies in the understanding of where and how labor hours are being spent. Building managers need to develop thorough knowledge of these variables before they can proceed with cleaning programs. Such initiatives involve three steps. The first of these is the definition of the program. This requires management to address such issues as current cleaning quality, surface types, square footage, traffic patterns or building density, current cleaning tasks and frequency of tasks. After these information have been gathered, measurement of the required time to be spent on cleaning is next. The total time is computed by simply multiplying the standard time for the task (time per unit) by the area (number of units). Lastly, management should make decisions based on this computation and schedule work assignments.
