This book contains no useful information that you do not already know at this point. However, if you would to know about what to do with your "bankable" star's acting, and you don't know, and they actually gave you a "bankable" star... just, don't buy this.

Not quite killer style but useful.......1999-12-01

I have read this book and the title is a little miss leading, however for basic info on directing it is a good book. This autor has given a lot of insight to many areas and has provided good examples to support it. However the title is a little bit exaggerated. But still a good book. TG

Does not live up to its billing!.......1999-05-22

I recently purchased this book, "Film Directing: Killer Style & Cutting Edge Technique", by Renee Harmon. I don't think the book is very good or particularly insightful. I have other books by this author which are good, but this book is made up of dry, cookie cutter listings of film terminology and (in my opinion) simplistic definitions of the same. The "exercises" at the end of certain sections appear to be last minute add-ons that don't offer much in terms of actual directing. It might have useful general information for the filmmaker wannabe, but there is nothing that lends credence to the cover's subtitle of "killer style and cutting edge technique'. There are certainly much better books out there that talk about directing that more intersting and a much better read. Like I said, I have other books by this author which are pretty good, but as someone who has actually started to direct I didn't find much of use in this book. I'm sorry I bought this one and certainly can't recommend it to others.

Excellent book! Very lucid, and very comprehensive!.......2001-07-23

This is a superb book, get it if you are interested in the world of derivatives. As the title suggests, however, this is a *managerial* intro to the world of the world's "most powerful financial intruments" and will be excellent introduction for MBA students. COntains some excellent examples from this world as well (great to know this if you are going to interview).

If you want something a lot more numerical and yet friendly, I'd suggest "The Complete Guide to Option Pricing Formulas by Espen Gaarder Haug" to go alongside this book - thats a classic as well. This book contains all the the neophite to e-commerce needs to build a strategy from inside the organization. The history and background of the Internet are captured in a very easy and friendly read. Cunningham takes the reader from the basics through to "how to make it happen" in a pleasing and fast moving format. Sprinkled liberally throughout the book are very useful hints, tips and actions for those trying to get their organziation to move forward with e-business technologies. An excellent and easy read. For a more detailed read, try his book on B2B.

Very basic.......2001-04-04

The Author goes straight forward and considers all relevent issues concerning the web. Its very easy to read and summaries occur twice on every single page. It hardly covers any topic in depth. His proposals concerning migration into the e-bizz are shallow and most of them are very general without authentic examples. This book is fast to read through, but the useful information start in the thrid chapter and sum up to a single line per chapter. I am also missing new and detailed proposals and inspirations, could be written some five years ago.

A Great book for the E-Commerce.......2000-05-04

This book has been written as a comprehensive, fast and entertaining read on a complex subject. The book provides an integrated tour of the major business, technology and dramatic work process changes required for successful E-commerce solutions. The text is full of examples, quotes, strategies (that have worked for many companies and organizations), that should make learning and applying what others have done relevant for the reader. Over all a good book .
