A good book for beginners.......2002-01-22

This was my first "real" book on photography, and I must say it helped me a lot.
I changed my point of view when I was behind my own camera,
because of the stories Joe and Barry described.

It is easy and fun to read.

I expected a lesson in advanced photography. The text was informative, the photographs were not. Many example photographs that were supposed to instruct me in the use of colored gels on flashes or lights were printed in black and white! What a disappointment!

i would have appreciated more than what basically amounts to a beautifully written and presented Nikon sales pitch.

This book seems geared more toward people with extradisposable incomes or professionally funded camera setups, not an avid amateur enthusiasts.

The book does an excellent job of taking the photographer behind the camera. It does this by explaining how the photographs are made.

It is a defenite buy for anyone wanting to improve their skills in low light photography.

This is a love story, despite the title of the book. It is a story of a worn out rocker, an underage girl, mad rock magicians, mad fecal-magicians and a deadly Mexican biker gang. In a quick sum up, this book is the closest you can get to taking drugs and having a bad trip.

Billed as a Pulp Novel, which has always had the connotation of being the lowest of novels, yes even below those books that are notorious among housewives, this one like it's predecessors serves no real purpose beyond entertainment. It has a basic set-up, with enough in-between to keep you going. The only unforeseen plot twist are those that are done by the addled warped mind of Manning. The old posters that were sent along with the books had warned people that these books aren't for the sane.

The story follows two people. Star stuck lovers. One that resembles Iggy Pop and the other that is a young girl who has fallen in love with him. Girl ends up in some strange convent, then kidnapped by a magician. Iggy, with the aide of a Rock/Sex God, his Sodomizing Mexican Biker gang and a fecal magician. They go to find the girl and save here.

Simple story, but extremely demented. Not for the weak of stomach, please consult a psychiatrist before reading.

WHAT IS LATENT DEMAND AND THE P.I.E.?

The concept of latent demand is rather subtle. The term latent typically refers to something that is dormant, not observable, or not yet realized. Demand is the notion of an economic quantity that a target population or market requires under different assumptions of price, quality, and distribution, among other factors. Latent demand, therefore, is commonly defined by economists as the industry earnings of a market when that market becomes accessible and attractive to serve by competing firms. It is a measure, therefore, of potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) or total revenues (not profit) if a market is served in an efficient manner. It is typically expressed as the total revenues potentially extracted by firms. The “market” is defined at a given level in the value chain. There can be latent demand at the retail level, at the wholesale level, the manufacturing level, and the raw materials level (the P.I.E. of higher levels of the value chain being always smaller than the P.I.E. of levels at lower levels of the same value chain, assuming all levels maintain minimum profitability).

The latent demand for lavatory and sink basin cocks with only one supply line is not actual or historic sales. Nor is latent demand future sales. There is some good books and not so good books. This book is neighter. The intention of author a great innovative but the cases, application and examples are very limited. Additionally, the author always uses the application for explanation. The limited reference is only in educational areas, while I prefer to read a general idea or more in scientific research (see "A Ph.D. Is Not Enough : A Guide to Survival in Science" by Feibelman or "Tomorrow's Professor : Preparing for Academic Careers in Science and Engineering" by Reis). Therefore, this book is categorized as "not-so-good-book" for me. In contrast, my girlfriend in education school quite like this book. This book shows many reference to the referee journals including the statistics, e.g., acceptance rate, turn-over time, # article per year., etc. Therefore, this book is a "good-book" for education student, at least my friend. Well, since it's neighter one, I will give this book 3 stars then.
