Excellent book for someone who is starting out.......2003-04-16

In this book, the subject of flower photograpny is taken apart and analyzed, subject by subject. The intended audience is, I believe, the fairly new amateur, because the authors do not assume any familiarity with types of cameras, lenses or film. The text is accompanied on every page by photos (often quite striking) by the authors illustrating the subjects discussed.

Having no background in photographing flowers but having embarked on a project to take pictures of a good many, I found this book quite helpful. I can't say that I have taken pictures as fresh as stunning as those the authors provide, but I believe have come up a notch or two. Well worth the price and time to read.

One of the Best.......2002-04-18

I have many photography books, but there are only a few I actually use. The Field Guide to Photographing FLOWERS, by Allen Rokach and Anne Millman will be one of them. All the essential information is here including how to use natural light and shaping an aesthetic design. Comments on previsualization and how to think visually were very insightful. As a professional nature photographer who also teaches, I am excited to find a new resource to recommend to students. I figure if it's helpful to me, the students will love it, too. Kudos to Allen and Anne. I love your book!

Outstanding examples of flower photography.......1998-04-28

Both domestic and nature flowers are covered. The flower photos are totally outstanding and worth the price alone. It should inspire anyone to shoot great flower photos.

I love Madam and Eve.......2002-06-02

I first learned about Madam & Eve when taking the African Politics class at my school. When it came time to do term papers, I ended up exploring the issues in Madam & Eve (which meant I read all the books my prof had - and scared my roommates because I kept breaking into laughter). Madam & Eve is a wonderful comic, very smart and VERY funny. I recommend it to anyone who likes political commentary, as well as a good laugh.

The best of the first five years of South Africa's (and a few other places) favourite couple, Madam & Eve. This book provides a history, a deeper look into and of course, their greatest hits. I've got em all, mostly all signed by the authors and i'm told my collection is getting worth a few hundred dollars now! New edition out every year, get em while you can, you won't be disappointed.

All Madam and Eve comic books are great. They are full of comics about things happening in South Africa, toyi toyi, government, hijacking and problems between white and black people. These books are really funny, but you have to know certain things aboutt the country to understand some of the comics.

If you are a South African, former South African, or anyone, this book is a MUST HAVE! These are some of the best comics on Earth. This is the type of book that you pick up and read in one sitting, even though it is a comic book. This book is actually a wonderful collection of most of the comics past, and includes commentary of how the comic has changed and just tid bits of knowledge from the author. This is a must have for any Madam and Eve fans and for anyone who has never heard of Madam and Eve. You will love this book. I gaurantee it.

This work provides a comprehensive look at the latest developments in lease financing. Rather than offering an exposition of leasing theory, Nunnally, Plath, and Johns present the application of this theory to actual business situations. The various types of leases are clearly delineated, including their advantages, disadvantages, and appropriate use. In emphasizing decision-making techniques, the authors incorporate into the volume the tax implications of leasing, the lease versus buy material, and the major contributions of academic research in leasing, with an explanation of how the research both increases the use value of leasing and applies to actual financing problems. The volume is written in a clear, readable style and is divided into five subject areas: leasing concepts, analytical foundations of leasing, reporting for leases, evaluating lease transactions, and the role of leasing in modern financial management. The authors begin the book with a description of the types of leases and their tax, cash flow, and profit implications. A full chapter focuses on the fundamental techniques of time value of money and capital budgeting, which underlie lease analysis; these techniques are subsequently used to illustrate basic principles of lease valuation. Simple numerical examples introduce different lease valuation methods, and explain how to calculate rate of return and identify the appropriate rate of discount. Several contract provisions that complicate lease valuation problems are discussed, including variable rate lease payments, leveraged lease arrangements, and sale-and-leaseback transactions. The work concludes with a survey of contemporary leasing practices and costs. This study will be an important asset for all types of financial managers, as well as for students in finance and accounting courses and for both public and academic libraries.
