Customer Reviews:
If you are an aspiring designer, it doesn't matter if you want it... you NEED it........2007-08-05
I was actually looking for a book to help me with my portfolio development... though it doesn't cover rendering techniques (it doesn't claim to) this book actually gives you such a clear idea of the entire design process, there are hardly any doubts left in your head after that. and it's so well written... oh and the pictures! they are just fantastic. This book is the second in the design secrets - products series... so it is very up to date and covers very recent products. I recommend this to anyone, not just aspiring designers, if products in general interest you. you'll never look at anything you buy the same way! it's just a brilliant book. and as for anyone looking to pursue design, you NEED it. if its too expensive for you, at least get a used copy!
Great resource!.......2005-09-10
I recently purchased this book for one of my design drawing classes. The teacher had specifically asked us to find examples of product design sketches. After looking everywhere for books on the subject this one turned out to be the most up-to-date in terms of techniques and the most complete. I also think it's a great reference book and gives a good overview of the product design process. I recently purchased this book for one of my design drawing classes. Customer Reviews:
Very misleading!.......1999-08-07
I was really excited when I bought this book, thinking I wasactually going to learn some cool stuff. As it turned out mostexamples didn't work and you had to run your computer in 256 colors. I contacted the author for a refund but he never responded - I would have returned it to the book store, but I opened that useless CD. Don't waste your money!
Worst ever book.......1999-07-20
This is the MOST terrible book I've ever bought in my life. I don't have many VB books, but I have a total of 8 VB books.
I bought this book thinking I could learn something with it, but nooooooooo... it just contain a stupid sprite.dll that does all the work. So what are we suppose to learn?
This guy is just showing off what he can do with VB and makes you pay for it. He's nothing but a LOUSY teacher, he definitely sucks, I'll never ever buy any books from this author anymore.
I STRONGLY oppose to this book, don't even think of buy it, if not you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
Horrible..........1999-04-21
Half a year ago, I thought this was a good book. Today, I believe it is a really, really, bad, waste-of-money, pathetic un-useful book. I mean, even those free web sites written by nobody are better than it. If you want to learn VB animation, go to Yahoo and search for it. You will find something you like. Trust me.
It will give you some interesting ideas, but nothing more........1999-04-10
This book tries to be everything to everybody and ends up being nothing to anybody. Despite its claim, you can not learn to program from this book. If you have very little programming experience, you will find this book very confusing. If you know a lot of progeamming then you will probably be annoyed by the lack of details and the time spent on easy topics. The only redeeming value of this book is that it may give you a few creative ideas that you can develop on your own or with better books.
Thrown together and it shows. . ........1999-03-16
This is the book they were talking about when they said "You can't judge a book by it's cover"! I was surprised that a book of such poor quality would be published by such a well known publisher. This book was a rough draft of something that could have ended up being helpful, but must have been rushed to print.

Young readers meet a Charmander with more than a hot tail - it's got a hot temper, too! When Arbok falls in love, can Hazel figure out which Pokemon it has a crush on so she can help the affair along?
Customer Reviews:
It is cool!.......2004-01-01
this is more for girls. first hazel(maron) has to help a arbok who is in love with a wigglytuff? (i read this looong ago.) then the pokemon meet a hot tempered charmander. can they get along? it is a must have for girls who like pokemon and hate the ash kethcum storyline. plus, it does not cost much.
Book Description
Storytelling at its best, this compelling memoir graphically portrays the scarred emotional landscape of young men who seek a place in the world by way of a military career. Exhausted shadows of the past are brought alive with uncommon eloquence as the author looks back on his youth brimming with innocence, idealism and patriotism. A page turner, the book explores the complex nature of a man whose brave, daring and sometimes foolhardy exploits led to the essential task; building a scaffold of choices and attitudes by rendering meaning from the intractable depths of experience. What in other hands might be a dreary tale of adolescent angst, betrayal and disillusion, takes on truly pyrotechnic energy, lifting his coming of age from the mundane to the profound.
Book Description
"A Life Story for my Grandchildren" tells of growing up in America as a child of immigrant background, of jobs, friends and falling in love, of starting a business on a shoe string, of involvement in Democratic politics and support of non-profit causes. Stuart Moldaw's family story ranges from Bolshevik Russia to Depression-era Massachusetts to serving in the Pacific during World War II to the apparel markets of New York City and the grand department stores of the past, ultimately moving to California where he takes part in the mall-driven revolution that changed the face of retailing.

Book Description
Ever since Ponce de Leon landed in Florida, Americans have searched for the fountain of youth. What if it was as easy as changing your mind?
I changed my mind and had a happier childhood by concentrating on the good events I remembered. Juvenescence is a combination collection of short, short stories from my childhood plus journal space to re-create your own true stories from childhood.
My two oldest grandchildren literally pried these stories out of me during sleepovers. The re-creation of events helped this baby-boomer grandmother relive the good old days and apply these lessons to my life today.
With the popularity of journaling currently at an all-time high, I created the first combination journal/autobiography. In addition the book features my own 35 mm photographs of my own eight grandchildren. Juvenescence is a tribute to these eight grandchildren and to my own two children who created these special gifts from God. It is also a tribute to the 1950s Minnesota family farm.
Produced in rich sepia-toned photography on cream-colored paper stock, the book will recapture the mellowness of the 1950s we babyboomers love to fondly recall. And it will also capture the unconditional love gained when grandchildren enter you life.
Truly the best comes last.

Life of a warrior........2007-07-23
This book is a great look at what life was like as a career military pilot from the beginning of WWII to the end of the Vietnaum conflict. Lots of good insights into what it was like to live in post-war Germany.

Makes for a Great Presentation!.......2001-04-26
I recently purchased this book for a jackdaws presentation in my Children's Literature course at TAMIU. I gathered all the items mentioned in My Backpack, and everyone loved it (especially the part about the baseball glove)! Not only did I enjoy reading the book, but I practically memorized it by the second reading! I definitely recommend this book for all parents/teachers who handle elementary-aged children.

Book Description
Sexing the Groove
is a stellar ensemble of leading international music and cultural theorists who explore the ways gender and sexuality make popular music. Combining various methodologies with a wide range of case studies, from Mick Jagger to Riot Grrrls, the essays examine the many ways that performers, subcultures, fans and the music itself construct and deconstruct gender.
Sexing the Groove
is structured into sections focusing on rock music culture, masculinities and popular music, women and popular music, and music, image and identity. Each section begins with an introductory essay which contextualizes the individual essays and places them within the overall argument of the collection: that there is nothing "natural", permanent or immovable about sexual difference.
An insightful collection, this book will be music to the ears for anyone interested in the interplay between popular music, gender and sexuality.

Customer Reviews:
With all respect you have gotten misinformation on Easttom.......2000-04-04
Sherman E. Easttom, the camp committee chairman at the Weedpatch Camp in the era around the first half of 1936, was introduced to John Steinbeck at The Arvin Sanitary Camp by Tom Collins.Numerous biographers have said Steinbeck used the family of Sherman E. Easttom as the model for the Joad Family as portrayed in the Steinbeck Novel THE GRAPES OF WRATH, 1939. What Ms.Loftis misrepresented in her book was that Sherman E. Easttom wrote a letter to Paul Taylor, in regards to the democratic camper goverment which was set up by either the Farm Security Administration or its predecessor agency which planned and built the first two Sanitary Units in 1935 the first in Marysville, CA and the second in Arvin, CA. Ms. Loftis, erroneously claims to have referenced a source she found somewhere in the National Archives, to the effect that Sherman E. Easttom wrote a letter to Paul Taylor, a higher up at the Farm Security Administration headquarters in San Fancisco,CA. Being the grandson of Sherman E. Easttom, it is common knowledge in the Easttom Family that Sherman E. Easttom could not read or write and was color blind.I do not slight Anne Loftis for using my grandfather's name, however I do mind the misinformation that is being disseminated by writers who have the occasion to run across Sherman E. Easttom's role in the writing by Steinbeck of THE GRAPES OF WRATH,1939. Ms. Loftis corroborated with the well known Steinbeck biographer, Jackson J. Benson in 1980 on a piece JOHN STEINBECK AND FARM LABOR UNIONIZATION; THE BACKGROUND OF IN DUIOUS BATTLE, by Benson and Anne Loftis, American Literature, 52 (May 1980): 194-223. Mr Benson also published his well reviewed book, THE TRUE ADVENTURES OF JOHN STEINBECK, WRITER (New York: Viking, 1984; London: Heinemann, 1984).In this book which which has been heralded as the definitive "authorized biography" of John Steinbeck as it was indeed cleared by the Steinbeck Family and thus offered Benson an entree into the secretive life of Steinbeck and his friends. Benson disseminated misinformation about Sherman E. Easttom and went further to name Easttom's son, namely, Sammie F. Eastton, (note there was variation in the family as to the exact spelling of the surname) as a "...fugitve from the law and hiding out in Lamont." Benson and Anne Loftis engaged in the same type of name dropping in the writing of ,THE BACKGROUND OF "IN DUBIOUS BATTLE". I would remind one that the use of the word "fugitive" connotes a fleeing from or flight from justice. My Uncle whom Benson claimed was the model for Tom Joad was only 17 years old in the summer of 1936 when the talks between Sherman E. Easttom and John Steinbeck took place. My Uncle could not have been a "fugitive" in any common understanding of the use of the word , because he was a juvenile at the time Benson claims he was a "...fugitive from the law". Again I bear no ill will to any of the Steinbeck researchers, but only wish to bring forward the factual account according to the Easttom Family.
