If you are just starting your library - this book is a must have!
This is a very good book for anyone with good basic sewing skills who is just getting into home docorating. It has good ideas that can be worked into any budget and with a wide range of fabrics. The presentation is clear and the instructions are easy to follow.
However, if you are an intermediate or more home decorator, you won't likely find any new techniques or information in this book if you already have others at your level.

This is a beautifully done book with great photos if you are into design, particularly traditional styles. I bought it for much more than the Amazon price and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish I didn't already have it so I could take advantage of this great deal.

Ms. Donna Kooler is my favorite cross-stitch designer. Her books are all full of beautiful, elegant and exquisite designs. This book is also so fantastic. Even though this wonderful book has no cover picture showing on Amazon, do not loss the opportunity to own it that can really help you to decorate your sweet home to be much much sweeter. We can easily find unique designs for our front door ,living room, dining room, bathroom,and family room, etc. It is my dream to fill my home with cross stitches like those in the book.

Lots of great tips.......2001-09-27
Have you ever struggled with combing fabrics or patterned wallpaper in your home? If you have, then this is the book for you. Learn to use classic stripes to create an elegant look or a bright simple floral print to create a lively retreat.
The book starts out focusing on contemporary and classic fabric patterns. I love the decorating tips scattered through the book like using tiny prints and in a small room and larger ones in a big room or garden. It then discusses combining patterns. Again there are lots of great tips here like using several floral prints to create a rich looking collage or using patterns that include the same colors.
The next section on quick-change fabrics is great. It shows you how easy it to change a room by adding, subtracting or changing the fabrics in it. You can transform from season to season just by changing the curtains, slipcover, bedding or pillow shams. This is great when you want something different, but don't want to spend a fortune.
A chapter on creating pattern with your collections follows. Here you learn how to use pictures, knick-knacks and art to personalize and add the final dimension to your home. I love the many display ideas here. The book wraps up with a glossary, resource directory that includes websites and information on contacting the designers. This is a great book of tips and ideas with something here for every style.

A resource for producers new and old.......2000-06-09
How helpful this book is depends on how "green" you are about the film industry. Those with little to no knowledge about film production will find the book resourceful, informative and very "to-the-point" about the different types of financing available. The advantage/disadvantage sections are especially concise--it's always good to see both sides when it comes to deals potentially worth millions. The "further reading" sections at the end of chapter are also handy, if you want to do extra research on your own.
For those who are experienced film producers (or even those who have finished rigorous film producing and/or entertainment business academic programs, such as myself), the information may repeat many things you already know. Many of the strategies in this book I've learned about in producing classes and film financing seminars--and I'm just starting my career. So I'm sure that some seasoned producers may think this book is reinventing the wheel. However, I did think that the sections dealing with the different securities and corporation options were very informative as far as how they impact your tax status, the difference between active and passive investors, how your autonomy as a filmmaker/producer may be affected, etc. It breaks down a lot of tax legalese into layman's terms.
Overall, I recommend the book--as a primer for new producers and students, and as a great reference guide to those with experience.
