Art does heal, but that art needs touch, feel, look, so on and so forth.

Donot buy this book by its cover. Cover page gives you a colourful and an impressive hyperlink.

Contentwise, it hardly gives an idea of what is that art that can move, inspire and initiate the process of mindfulness, spiritual healing and therapeutic fulfillment.

Academic and arm chair healing narratives apart, the book could have added real pictures of what art makes this healing.

A few black and white images DONOT satisfy any healer, let alone the end-user.

Book Description

After working with American photographer and filmmaker William Klein, Bustamante held his first exhibition in 1982 and met the sculptor Bazile. They collaborated for three years, which lead Bustamante to experiment with other media. He advocates a reciprocal relationship between artist and spectator, in which both parties engage in the aesthetic definition of a piece. He rejects notions of documentary and fixed aesthetics, relying instead on the fluid and meditative nature of art. Bustamante is internationally acclaimed; his work has been exhibited at the Tate Gallery, the Jeu de Paume, and the Documenta. In 2003, Bustamante represented France at the 50th Venice Biennial.

Jean-Marc Bustamante, born in Toulouse, France, in 1952, was known as a photographer before he became a sculptor: he exhibited his photographs at the Tate in 1998-99, and works in both media at Matthew Marks Gallery, New York, in preparation for his 2003 representation of France at the Venice Biennale. Bustamante continues to exhibit both objects and images, and says of this portfolio of sculptural work, which seems at first to make his biggest break yet with photography, "All of the works here have something to do with photographics." Indeed, the bright swaths of color on transparent material share some properties with glass-plate negatives, filtering light, registering shapes and shadows on the wall behind them. A solid album of recent work, this volume includes exhibition photographs as well as notes and sketches, and documents work both interior and exterior, including a light installation that put Bustamante's mark all over Austria's Kunsthaus Bregenz. "Given the fact that [they] had committed the entire building to me, it seemed obvious that I should display my presence from the outside. The display is a signal. It reveals itself progressively as the 200 lights come on, until all of them are ablaze."

This book is a must have for all you newer Days fans who want to know what happened up to 1995. Also it has family trees and history of the making of the show. It helps explain Patch"s history in the story line and so much more on dozens of other people. Makes you feel like an expert on the whole show.It starts at the very beginning and had to end at 1995, but maybe some one will write part 2 for the years 1996 to 2007, I hope.

A truly in-depth look at NBC's long running show........1999-03-16

A must for any fan who longs for a return to the enticing storytelling that was once the hallmark of daytime drama. Amazing photos, unbelievable detail... well worth every penny.

It's an interesting, informative, trivial book........1999-02-19

I liked how this book was divided into about 6 chapters. The book explanins about how the show was first started, how the fans have always supported it, and the whole storyline. I have only been watching Days for about 2 years, so when I read the storyline, it was really confusing, but I am trying to follow it. It doesn't have any color pictures, and the pictures it does have are mostly of the older families on Days. This book does, however, give you a good background, and it doesn't really leave anything out dealing with information. It also has family trees in the back so you can be sure about the Days generations. You can learn some real trivia from this book. If you want history, and trivia, get this book. It will soon become one of your most treasured posesions.

This book should be well worth your money when you begin reading it.

A treasure worth having for any lover of classical music. I have Vol. 2 on order, will arrive in a couple of days. Not only is the overall physical health, final illness analyzed and diagnosed from a wide variety of sources for each composer, but much new repeat new information is provided on the composers pertaining to their day to day lives, public and private musical activities, etc. A fascinating read and a very worthwhile addition to your library !

A thought-provoking look at the composers' lives and health........1999-04-07

Anyone with an interest in classical music will find this book fascinating, especially if you've heard stories about Beethoven's deafness, and Schubert's syphilis, stories that have been repeated so often they are taken for fact. Dr. Neumayr read copious letters and notes about the 4 composers, and came to his own conclusions about their medical histories, giving us background as to what medical practices were at the time, and what would have been standard treatments and understandings of health. Even if you're horrified by what you read (Beethoven being punctured to relieve his abdominal swelling due to fluid retention) you'll come away with renewed compassion for not just the composers, but all people who lived and died in the 18-19th centuries. You'll love the music of these masters even more when you find out what their lives were really like!

This is a great book to look at. It scream's GIFT ME! But if you look inside this book, you will find that you could do better with any number of game and craft resources. It is not useful if you have any other busy books.

I like this book for the simple fact that once you've tried everything you can think of to entertain your toddler, ALAS, comes this book through the mail. There's really neat activities, recipes , and crafts. It goes from infant to preschooler..so you'll get good use out of it. I would recommend this book to any mother.

a little disappointing.......2007-01-12

i really decided to buy this book because i wanted to find some activities i could do with my child that would help his development. but i was disappointed to find out that there was like 3 pages of stuff for children ages 0 to 6 months. this book was advertised as having stuff from birth to toddler, it shouldn't have misled people about what was in the book. i mean all there is for under 6 months is some rhymes and a couple of activities. i thought there was going to be some stuff about activities to help them reach their developmental milestones. i mean their are probably not many people that don't know the few rhymes and games that are in the book.

Engaging activities--simple and creative. Years of fun, playing, exploring, and learning. Easy to understand and do. We have loved it and given it as a gift to new parents, too. Wonderful!

I get a TON of ideas from Wonderplay by Fretta Reitzes. I'm a home daycare provider and I'm always looking for ideas to do with my daycare kids. I don't know what I would do with out this book. It'a MUST have for home daycare providers and parents of small kids

Liest sich gut haeppchenweise, da abgeschlossene Themen.
