It's a good book but you'll need other books to round it out!.......2007-02-15
I've found this book to be very helpful as a reference but I recommend other books to round this book out such as Preston Blair's Cartoon Animation, Timing for Animation, and Osamu Tezuka's Animation Books(mainly if you're interested in doing anime style animation) This books does as one reviewer put it touches subjects briefly. Even so I found the tips on simplifying muscle groups and facial animation to be helpful. The artwork is more sophisticated than the dated Preston Blair book. This book even shows techniques such as the double take and character speed blurs. Overall this book is still useful but not without the other books I recommended.
A Fun Book for Anyone.......2000-09-01
I really enjoyed How to Draw Animation. It covered a wide range of topics from the basics, to creating your own characters, to making your characters walk and run, to the animation process. I think this book is a good guide to animation for anyone; whether it's just a hobby or a possible career interest. The book is brimming with beautiful illustrations and clear instructions. Anyone who loves animation should go out and buy this book.
WARNING: This Book is For The Little Kiddies.......2000-04-30
This book is not for people who are interested in becomingserious animators. The book seems to be geared towards children whoare interested in how animation works. So if you are a seriousanimation student I would have to warn you to stay clear of this book. However, this is a good book to give the little kiddies on how animation works. On the bases of it being a Childrens book about animation I would have to give it 5 stars. Since I am sort of an animator in training I would have to give it 2 stars for content. Why? You ask because the content is very brief and does not go into much detail. ...

I was extremely disappointed in this book. It has very little real content and the book only touches very briefly on many topics. The concepts contained in the book could have been written on 3 sheets of paper. My guess it is written for children to see some of the animation concepts
A great book that explains all areas of animation........1999-07-04
Christopher Hart greatly portrays the art of animation in this wonderful book. It helps begginers understand how to design your characters and what their standouts should be. He explains in great detail how to express your characters emotions through looks and actions. An interview with Roger Allers is included which gives young begginers great advice and encourangement on achieving their goals. This book is great for peoples who are looking to start a career in animation.

John Drury, of the long defunct Chicago Daily News, published Old Illinois Houses in 1941.The sixty to seventy five houses included, from all over the state, represent not just architectural styles but all imaginable aspects of Illinois' rich history. The author brings this history entertainingly to the fore. The book will interest even those who are completely blind to the beauty of domestic architecture. Each portrait of three or four pages includes a black and white photo.

The best book in my collection!.......2007-01-13
I would definately recommend this book to EVERYONE! It is so in-depth about every aspect of digital filmmaking. It has projects and things to think about on every single page. I would have paid $50 bucks for it! In my opinion, it is very cheap for its quality. Also, there are pictures on every page that deponstrate every topic. The pictures really help to open up new ideas in your head. I know they have for me!

Wealth of Information - Could Break it Down More.......2006-08-03
It seemed like there was double the actual pages there was in the book. Everypage has tons of information about everything there is in making short films. I wish the book went into each aspect with more depth because reading this book seemed like a club of information just kept pounding me over the head. It jumps from each technique and tip so fast that it made me want either more examples or more explanation.
With that said, this is definitely for anyone who is interested in making films, even for those who think they know it all. I thought I knew a lot about making films until I read this.
Perfect for teenagers.......2006-08-01
If you know any teenagers who are dying to learn how to make films, get them this book. While it is pretty scant on information (most of it being recycled from giants like Murch and McKee), it is motivational and has lots of fun exercises...and the graphic design is first rate.
Recommended for beginners only.
Great Development Tool -- Shorts and Features.......2006-03-11
Purchased this book to polish a 24-minute short screenplay. The story structure and content are solid now, and the characters believable. The lists are an AWESOME source of inspiration. Ready to shoot this Spring. Look forward to the DVD series. BTW, haven't made it through the second half of the book yet, but it looks great.

Okay, I'm hooked! This is the latest puzzle book I picked up. I love doing Sudoku puzzles, and this ones pretty decent.

I agree it's a bit big, but on the other hand you get all the puzzles you'll ever need - maybe even a bit more than you need, but then you can do what we did and rip the puzzles out and split them between family members. I know, it's an awful thing to do to a book, but still... In summary, high quality puzzles, just like we've come to expect.
