Book Description
Rabbits. We'll never quite know why, but sometimes they decide they've just had enough of this world- and that's when they start getting inventive. The Book of Bunny Suicides follows over one hundred bunnies as they find ever more outlandish ways to do themselves in. From an encounter with the business end of Darth Vader's lightsaber, to supergluing themselves to a diving submarine, to hanging around underneath a loose stalactite, these bunnies are serious about suicide.
Illustrated in a stark and simple style, The Book of Bunny Suicides is a collection of hilarious and outrageous cartoons that will appeal to anyone in touch with their evil side.
Customer Reviews:
It's cute but..........2007-09-25
Very cute humor but...
Unless your getting this as a gift for someone or it's an inside joke you've been looking for your whole life, I don't recommend buying this book simply because it is too short. Cute though... Not for animal rights advocates.
my cheeks hurt!!.......2007-09-09
If you are in anyway feeling a bit blue, take a look at this book!
Great!!!.......2007-08-23
I love this book, if you like the bunny suicides this is a great book for the collections.
I have to meet this guy!.......2007-08-10
The first thing I'd ask him is when the
image of fluffy little bunnies doing themselves
in came to his mind. Oh yeah, and what was he
doing at the time. In church? Changing his
oil? Filling out a tax form?
Then the next thing I'd want to know is whether
it was difficult to come up with all these
mostrous ways to say goodbye. I mean-did the bunny
in the lobster tank with the scuba gear just come
to him?
And then finally I'd tell him about standing in a
bookstore in Rome with the Italian version of his
book and gagging with laughter. (Romans rarely laugh
in public) and having everybody stare at me. I'd tell
him about giving a copy to my 20-year old daughter who
speaks no italian and having her get it.
And then I'd take him out for a drink.

the perfect gift.......2007-01-24
I really loved this book, I brought this as a present for someone who was leaving work, we share the same sense of humour. I think this book is really funny, a little sick perhaps but great. It is really simple, yet a creation of pure genius, it is enough to bring you out of the worst mood with a smile.

Everyone I send them to loves them, though I send the ones I like LEAST of all
first, and now I'm down to my most favorite. Do I actually know anyone who
will appreciate them enough? I guess I need to just order the book.

On the John, making a bond........2006-02-28
Picture this- your on the john, workin' hard. Many days and nights go by when each time you have to go to the bathroom, like my brother, you are holding your legs tight and squirming to find something to read before you . . . do your buisness. Look no further. Behold, it's the legendary lost bathroom reader. It is packed full with all the things that a bathroom reader needs: Facts, quizzes, interesting trivia, history, word games, word puzzles, mysterious articles and more. It will keep you busy for hours. You may even find it necessary to take it out of the bathroom and into your reading room. It's a good compliation that makes for a funny, if not a little crude, birthday gift. (P.S. Got it for my brother and he just loves it.)
Take it from me folks, this is one book that delivers on the goods while you're delivering . . . uh . . .something else. Enjoy!
Hey, are you OKAY in there?.......2005-12-17
Hubby is a movie man. I asked him what good books he's read in his life, and then I proceeded to read both of them.
Enter The Bathroom Reader. This edition was his first, and after an hour in said room, I sheepishly knocked to ask if he was "Okay in there".
Four editions later and I asked him to make a bookshelf.
Guests emerge amused and comforted, wondering where they can get these great books. Full of history, trivia, lists, mental puzzles, quotations, helpful facts and MUCH more, there is literally something for everyone. Open it to any random page and you'll find something worth knowing during your privy time.
Lots of fun to be had in what has become one of the more interesting rooms in the house.
This book and others in the series make wonderful gifts for ANYONE on your list for whom you can find NOTHING they would want. They want this. Trust me.
fun book!.......2004-11-30
Great fun and it gets lots of use. It does include some more "adult" facts, so parents should be aware of that.
Do you mind? I'm in here reading, thank you!.......2004-10-10
What on earth did people do in the bathroom before the "Uncle John Bathroom Readers" came into existence? Honestly, I can't remember.
This combination 5th, 6th, & 7th editions book of the venerable "Bathroom Reader" series is not much different than the editions that came before it.
Well, there is one difference. The Bathroom Readers' Institute took over the publishing duties of their books beginning with the 5th edition. For reasons known only to them, the BRI only did one printing each of the 5th, 6th, and 7th editions. Even as they continued to print new editions, and even reprint those later editions, they never did anything about these three editions.
Finally, the BRI decided to reprint the "lost" editions as one giant book. According to the preface, they even updated some of the "stories" in the book. Unfortunately, they should have also updated some of the many misspellings and other grammatical errors that plagued these editions.
Personally, I would have prefered for the BRI to re-issue each of these editions individually. But something is better than nothing, which makes this combined book one serious bathroom reader.
Get your kids to read!.......2003-12-08
Great book for parents who are always trying to get their kids to read. Leave it in the bathroom and kids of all ages - elementary, middle and high school- will all be able to find something interesting to read in it. It's definitely worthwhile enjoyable reading for adults, too. You can put it down and pick it up weeks later, and not have to worry about where you left off. You can just read on any topic that interests you.

Great quick reference guide.......2005-06-02
You know the face but don't know the name - memorable "character" actors who have appeared over and over again in films but don't have that stellar name recognition like the major stars do. This A-Z encyclopedia includes over 1100 names from today and yester-year. Each entry includes a head shot and a brief career analysis followed by a list of film credits. Since there is no index of any kind to look up actors by type or film title, you mainly have to browse the photos if you are searching for a particular individual whose name you don't know. Also if you are looking for detailed biographical information about the actor, you might be disappointed. However, since any biographical information is often hard to find about these actors, this is a book worth having in your film library.

Book Description
This landmark historical text delivers the goods promised in its title. It does not address flamenco dance whatsoever, focusing instead on flamenco song forms with a special chapter devoted to the role of the guitar. Includes Spanish lyrics for dozens of flamenco songs along with English translations and interpretive notes, a glossary of flamenco terminology, plus a recommended bibliography and discography are also provided. Informal in its demeanor, this carefully researched, insightful book will help you develop a deeper appreciation for the flamboyant art of flamenco.
Customer Reviews:
A good and up-to-date introduction.......2006-12-05
Emma Martínez is a professional classical guitarist. She is also half Spanish by birth, bilingual, and has an extensive knowledge of Flamenco such as few anglophones can achieve. Since her other virtues include the ability to write clearly and interestingly, the result is a very worthwhile book. Although one might imagine it to cover the same ground as Donn Pohren's seminal The Art of Flamenco, in fact there is very little overlap; although the underlying facts are obviously the same, the approach is quite different (Donn's being much more personal). In addition, Ms. Martínez deals far more extensively with modern Flamenco than does Pohren. So none who buy both books will feel they have needless duplication.
Consonant with the title, the chapter headings take the form of Frequently Asked Questions: "What is Flamenco?", "Who invented Flamenco?", and so forth. The depth of knowledge displayed is very considerable, but the book is never dry or pedantic; one always gets the sense of the writer as someone involved in Flamenco, rather than an academic researcher. I certainly learned quite a lot, and I've been following Flamenco for over forty years.
For back matter, there is a Glossary, a Bibliography and a list of Recommended Listening (but no index).
On the debit side, there are some rather curious (although mostly trivial) errors: for instance, the legendary singer Manuel Torre is usually (but not consistently) referred to as Manuel Torres. This is a common mistake even in Spain, for in Andalusian Spanish the two names are homophones; but his legal name was Manuel de Soto Loreto, and he was given the nickname Torre (tower) because of his height. Even stranger is the information that the Beatle who introduced the sitar to the West was John Lennon (!).
And although the cover features a first-rate photograph of Paco de Lucía, it is the only photograph in the book, which contributes to a rather drab layout.
By and large, though, this is an excellent introduction to Flamenco for anyone interested, and a fine contribution to the literature in general.
I wanted to learn more about flamenco.......2005-02-25
I have recently began teaching myself flamenco guitar and I wanted to become familiar with its history, development and the people involved. This book was really good at answering a lot of questions I had about flamenco. It caused me to purchase a lot of CDs, DVDs, and other books to become even more aquainted with this art form. I don't have any reservations about suggesting this book to anyone seeking to enhance their knowledge of flamenco. It had good quotes from lots of flamencos past and present. My only criticism is that is did not contain any photographs of the people it mentioned. But this is fine because I looked them up online. The writer seems to have a disdain of those flamencos who are making this style into cash-cow. But what true fan wouldn't?
Great book.
An excellent flamenco introduction and history, but ..............2004-06-09
While this book cuts to the heart of what flamenco is, and is an excellent history of flamenco, there is this recurring undertone of her "love" for Paco de Lucia, as the best flamenco player ever. There really shouldn't be such obvious bias in a book of this quality, but there is. Her recommendations section lists all of his works, while very obviously omitting so many other great artists. Too bad. It is a real disservice to the reader. In the guitar section she blatantly doesn't list any recordings of Sabicas, Nino Ricardo, Joaquin Rodrigo, and some the other truly great names of flamenco guitar. Some of these names are mentioned only in the text, as they pertain to her view of Paco's work and influences. Otherwise, this is still a very informative and nice historical reference book about flamenco, if you can get past her obvious biases. It would have been a much better book without it. Personally, I would search through Flamenco-world.com to find the truly great artists of flamenco. Finefretted.com has some very rare recordings too.

Eating Frogs!.......2007-09-15
I learned of this book from a friend who has the older version of it. I glanced through her copy and noticed her notes. She said you have got to get this, it will organize your life. I purchased the 2nd edition version, read the book through, then reread it marking the tasks that I feel will help me find the missing hours in a day, so things get accomplished, instead of brushed under the rug. Sometimes it just seems to be amazing that it is end of the day, the week or even the month and it seems that nothing or not a whole lot seemed to be accomplished. I work in Direct Sales so it helps there also. It help me find the time to take care of the household, spend time with each family member and take care of their needs, and still be able to spend time with clients to be able to service them better allowing them to pass recommendations of me around. I also picked up his book Goals!, keeping them both close at hand so I can glance through and get that boost of energy again, with the "Yes I Can" attitude. "Eat That Frog", will get you out of procrastinating and working with goals, while "Goals!", will get you into setting goals, keeping them and accomplishing them, it is such a win-win!

"Last Friday...Was I Scared!--My Boss Almost Fired Me!".......2007-08-26
Do you procrastinate on important tasks? Do you wait until the last minute to do the most important of things both personally and on your job? If you are like 90% of all people, you have become prey to the monster of procrastination. Procrastination has nothing to do with laziness or lack of ambition, but has everything to do with the "fear of overwhelm". As humans, we can all become victims of overwhelm, but at last there is a solution. The absolute best book on "procrastination busting" I have ever read is Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time by Brian Tracy. After reading and following the advice Mr. Tracy lays out in this remarkable book, you will have conquered procrastination forever! Yes, I said--forever!! Remember, unless you conquer procrastination you CANNOT succeed at anything. Buy this book, and say goodbye to procrastination for good.
Other great titles by Brian Tracy are:

Thank you, Mr. Tracy for helping us to rid ourselves of the demon of procrastination for good!
This book will change you! .......2007-08-22
I think of all of Brian Tracy's books-- this is my favorite.
I teach "day management" over time management. So our opinions differ a bit on this. Brian has you prioritize the things you must do each day-- eating the biggest ugliest frog first. This is two fold. It eliminates procrastination and dread. I tell clients to do the thing they dread the most first. Why spend the day dreading that awful phone call? Anxiety builds and so does the discomfort. We are saying the same thing different ways.
Where we differ is that because I teach sales and self promotion-- you can find any frog uglier than your marketing responsibilities. My clients create their marketing plan, with daily action items they commit to doing-- no matter the number of frogs out there.
The energy over the visual of eating a frog is so emotional, it sticks. That is what makes this such a great book. I use the language with my clients, and I'll often hail an accomplishment accredited to "I just sat down and ate the frog".
This book will change your attitude on procrastination. I didn't believe it, because although most people tell me I do more than anyone they know-- I can dig my heels in as stubbornly as another. But when I feel that wave coming on-- I just "eat the frog".
