Book Description
Recording Conceptual Art features a highly provocative series of previously unpublished interviews conducted in early 1969 with some of the most dynamic, daring, and innovative artists of the tumultuous 1960s. The nine individuals--eight artists and one art dealer--are now known as major contributors to Conceptual art. These fascinating dialogues, conducted by Patricia Norvell, provide tantalizing moments of spontaneous philosophizing and brilliant insights, as well as moments of unabashed self-importance, with highly imaginative and colorful individuals.

Book Description
Parasitic consultants, weaselly stockbrokers, masochistic coworkers and the ever-present, evil-plotting pointy-haired boss? Welcome to the seventh circle of hell, er, the 22nd collection of Scott Adams¿ stupendously popular comic strip, Dilbert! Words You Don¿t Want to Hear During Your Annual Performance Review updates loyal readers on the mind-numbing careers of Dilbert, Wally, Alice, the PHB himself, and an ever-expanding cast of walk-on ¿guest stars.¿ In this installment, a cash-sucking ¿consultick¿ burrows under the boss¿s skin, a not-so-grim reaper pops anti-depressants, and a lab accident turns Dilbert into a sheep¿a transformation which goes barely noticed by his beleaguered coworkers. All the while, Adams takes his patented over-the-top but right-on-the-money jabs at the inanity of the corporate world. Dilbert¿s fans are legion and loyal. They have purchased seven million cartoon collection books and counting. The Dilbert comic strip appears in 2,000 newspapers and in 65 countries in 19 languages.

The best get better.......2005-04-19
It was beginning to look like Scott Adams would run out of material for Dilbert, but the corporate world just keeps spinning. Words.. is a new high level in corporate mayhem. From Dogbert the headhunter to the genius garbage man and of course Catbert the evil HR manager they are all here. We learn that "plundered" is now called "enhanced stock holder values." The pointy hair boss gets a body double for safety, and Dilbert invents a robot clone to double his visibility. It's another swipe at office management and the minions who toil our lives away in cubicles. Buy a 2nd copy and mail it to your pointy hair boss. Better yet, buy a 3rd copy and mail that one to your HR Catbert.
STILL THE MOST CONSISTENTLT FUNNY STRIP.......2004-12-28
It's been 15 years and Scott Adams shows now signs of slowing down or the ckind of burnout that caused Bill Watterson to retire from Calvin and Hobbes. Thank God! Because Dilbert remains the most consistently funny comic strip in the papers. A daily dose of wry, sarcastic wit that is daily bread to those of us toiling away in an office environment.
The title of this book says it all...who hasn't wanted to smack the person reviewing us upside the head and ask them what the hell were they thinking when they wrote it. Reviews, marketing, computers, stupid bosses...it's all to be read and mocked in Scott's latest collection.
Another funny Dilbert book.......2004-03-05
This is another very funny and spot-on book from Adams. Some of the characters like Ratbert and Dogbert don't appear as much, but Wally comes on strong and new characters are introduced like ConsulTick.
What's funny is the resonant note that Dilbert has struck with so much of corporate America. Having been an employee at a major Fortune 500 company for many years myself, I was convinced that Adams was talking about my company, and so did everyone else, although the resemblances at times could be almost eerie.
Adams's cartoons of the more absurd and ridiculous aspects of corporate culture (which at times seems to be about 99% of it) continue to provide much needed comic relief for hapless cubicle dwellers everywhere, and this is another funny book from Adams that shouldn't disappoint his fans.
All quiet in Wallyville..........2004-03-05
It's more Dilbertine for the addicted like myself and allthough there are a couple of minuses to mention the level of hilarity stays high as always. And how could it not? The inspiration from the corporate world keeps coming through in tsunami waves.
While one of the most cult characters in the Dilbert series (Wally) gains even more of the spotlight other equally legendary characters like Ratbert but above all Dogbert himself keep getting lesser and lesser appearances. That's a pity actually as especially these two have offered unforgettable moments in the past. Another thing connected with these two fading somewhat is that we get fewer moments of Dilbert at home and more in the office. Tha creates somewhat of an imbalance which was not present in the initial installments of the series.
All in all though, this gets adequately compensated by Adam's invincible humor and the introduction of new characters who might have less of a lifespan in comparison to Ratbert and Dogbert but who provide for some freshness nevertheless.
Other than that it's Wally galore to the max. Wally has been the secret ace of this comic all along. This is cynicism at its very best and its most hardcore. The lines coming out of Wally's mouth are surreal.
The Dilbert series continues to be a classic.
One of the funniest Dilbert books.......2004-02-29
One of the reasons I like this one so much is because it contains the comic strips that I always read in the paper last year. These are a few of the reasons why you should buy this book.
Toxic Tom
Dilbert as a sheep
Wally being lasy a usual
Dogbert's Tech Support
The Consultick
Dilbert's mood altering drugs
The furniture psychic
The new dress code which is barrels
My favorite comic which is the one where Wally researches Greek names for a new product
This are a bunch of really great comics and they are a must buy for all Dilbert fans.

Great for a game night!.......2007-03-19
I bought this for a game night I was having for a bunch of single friends. It was a great way to keep people entertained and have fun in the process. It was tons of fun reading what was written the next day. They sound even more ridiculous and funnier than they did the night before.

Ava Gardner - Venus, Barefoot Contessa & Kitty Collins in one........2006-06-05
This is a marvelous book and tribute to a very talented and beautiful woman. It is sad that she is not here with us today. She still had so much to share with us. It would have been so fulfilling to have her read, treasure and enjoy this work of love, admiration and respect. I have read and reread it numerous times, while also enjoying the vast amount of photos. Her presence on the screen was breathtaking and awesome. A little while ago, it was my privilege to see her on the big screen in the movie "Show Boat" -it may not have been her voice on screen but it was for sure her fabulous face, warmth and presence. After her "singing" the two songs, we in the audience were silent. It was as if should any one dared to applaud, the spell would be broken. The other stars got their well earned applause. However there was something in Ms. Gardner's performance that we just couldn't and wouldn't make a sound for fear it would break the spell she cast over us. How often does that happen in the movies!
I wanted to write to the author, expressing my joy in reading this work of art. I hope he will see this review so that he will know how much it means to me (if I may be so bold to say). He was absolutely thorough in writing this magnificent volume, although there were some very minor and unimportant errors. If he writes another book about Ms. G., I would order two or three copies for my friends and myself or maybe just for myself. Thank you, Mr. Dagneau, for giving us a fabulous work of a star who was underrated very unfairly because of some scripts and lack luster direction in some of the films. Although she still came through it all with glamour and just being herself.
She remained true to her family and friends even though she traveled all over the world, meeting royalty, celebrities, poets, and, yes, bull fighters, as well as everyday people. It mattered not who they were; if she knew and trusted you, that's all she needed to know and cling to. She must also have had an intriguing mind to have had so many friends in all walks of life; yet she was still basically Ava, with a thirst for knowledge, excitement and adventure. She knew that at the end of her journey, she would return her to home....to be at rest with her family with no fanfare or statues. I still feel very badly that she and Frank Sinatra could not have remained together. When I hear his songs, in my heart I believe he is still singing to only her and that we're invited along to share the moment.
Thank you, Ms. Gardner, for giving us such beauty, joy and simplicity;for leaving us movies and books (your own and some you never knew that had been written about you because we wanted to keep reading about you) and for sharing those moments with us. Thank you, Ms. Gardner.
Ava Gardner: Beautiful, Wild, Innocent.......2004-02-27
Hollywood both discovered and suffocated Ava Gardner. Despite many memorable portrayals, Gardner had never dreamed nor sought to be re-made by the moviemaking factory. Gilles Dagneau has assembled a fascinating and revealing account of the career and life of one of Hollywood's most beautiful, talented and elusive stars. Dagneau's research provides an engrossing read accompanied by a wealth of movie stills, publicity shots and candids through the years. His chronological review of her career and the filmmakers and actors with whom she worked is interwoven with the events in her turbulent off-screen life. Never comfortable with the trappings of stardom and the media curiosity that dogged her through 75 films, three husbands and three continents, she continually professed disinterest in acting but left a wonderful cinematic heritage which Dagneau has detailed in a devoted homage. The in-depth filmography (1941-1986) is especially helpful, along with an index of names and suggested reading. This is a book for film lovers and those who appreciate a revealing look behind the scenes at the real people who inhabit the images created by Hollywood.
Finally, a book befitting the bedazzling star!.......2004-01-29
The sub-title, "Beautiful, Wild, Innocent," only scratches the surface of Ava Gardner's many charms. Fortunately -- no, incredibly! -- Gilles Dagneau manages to capture the complex essence of the comely actress in this tribute's well-chosen words and pictures. Sharp, succinct analysis links Ms. Gardner's star turns to her own dramatic life-changes. Thus, Dagneau provides invaluable critical and psychological context to bolster previous examinations of her on-screen bravado and off-screen tabloid fodder. Wisely, while convincingly countering Ms. Gardner's self-proclaimed "averageness," the author accompanies his case with a stunning selection of photographs reminding readers of why they fell for Ava in the first place. Love at first sight? Most likely. A lasting love? Undeniably. Those who concur would be well-advised to purchase Gilles Dagneau's critical, yet kind Valentine. Fall in love, all over again.
Gorgeous book about a gorgeous and amazing woman.......2003-12-27
For anyone who has ever longed to know more about this glamorous and enigmatic movie queen, this book has it all. From Ava's discovery and rise to fame, to the height of her success as one of the world's best-loved and most talked about actresses, to the demise of her star from the skies, this oversize, full-color book examines the personal and professional lives of a woman who came to be worshipped, adored and desired by millions.
From her many love affairs and marriages to such stars as Mickey Rooney and Frank Sinatra, to her ever-evolving physical beauty, to the many aspects of her true personality that often caused her to rebel against the norm and behave in ways that caught the eyes of the camera, and public, off guard, this is a complete chronology of her life, accompanied by dozens of photographs both candid and posed that reveal a star of mythological proportions. We follow her meteoric career from its dawn to its zenith of success, and then to its decline as an aging Ava struggled to maintain her career, and her dignity.
Film director Gilles Dagneau (with editing and translation by Sandra Eiko Tokunaga) pays homage to Ms. Gardner with honesty, respect and a bit of wild rebelliousness, showing all sides of a woman many viewed as just a beautiful sex object, or a glamorous movie queen. We get so many insights and glimpses into the world of movie-making, and all that it entails, and we really get an understanding of Ava's often quirky behavior as she deals with the differing worlds on and off the movie set. We also see Ava through the eyes of the many famous directors, producers and stars she worked with, and how her charismatic presence effected them. We learn what she was paid for many of her films, about her wardrobes, the history behind the roles she played and the directors she was molded by, her many tumultuous love affairs and the hearts she left shattered in her wake, and her strong views on life that often colored her on-set and off-set actions in ways that made her both wild yet innocent, vulnerable yet tough as nails.
The book is divided into sections of Ava's life, from her early days as a movie-set novice, to the dawn of her true career rise in the late 1940's, to the height of her radiance in the fifties, and through the waning and sunset of her career, and life, through the sixties and into the 1980's. There is also a detailed filmography of Ava's great body of film work, and suggested reading list.
Readers who thought they knew "the Barefoot Contessa" will no doubt learn so much more about the woman and her work, and those who never knew her will be entranced and highly entertained. The stunning photos include set shots, posed movie stills, personal snapshots, and tons of behind the scenes pictures most folks have never seen before. In fact, the photos tell just as thrilling a story as the rich and detailed text does.
"AVA GARDNER: Beautiful, Wild, Innocent," is such a glorious celebration of the life of one of our greatest movie stars, but also of an era of entertainment that has long since died - a time when the stars on the movie set not only rivaled those in the sky, but often outshined them.

almost.......2002-11-24
the transcriptions are very accurate, however, crucial string arrangements are left out of the songs. for example, the strings section in the song 'needs,' though not that hard to figure out given the tonalities, are not tabbed out like they were in the tablature book for collective soul's self-titled album. aside from this lack, though, this is a good place to start for the beginning to intermediate guitarist since the songs here require many basic rock techniques that are easily built upon and will certainly show up in one's later rock repetoire.

Good information with a weird layout........2007-01-05
This book is full of good information but the layout of the text is kinda strange. some of the information is repeated under several different topics throughout the book. The book reminds me more of a collection of notes, tips and observations made by the author over a period of many years and just kinda grouped together in no particular order. I plan to use this more as a reference guide in the future, I'm not sure if this was the authors intent but the way the book is indexed and all the topics numbered...It is simple to find just the topic your currently interested in.
Overall, the information is helpful and easy to find but I view it more as a troubleshooting reference guide than a typical sit down and read cover to cover type of publication.

Interesting reading.......2000-06-29
This is an odd jumble of of "articles" as Buddy calls them (80+ page/ page and a half pieces) on all aspects of the game. Most might make interesting magazine pieces, but there is very little new, tactical/strategic or game-specific information here. Again, entertaining, but the book has no guiding principle other than love of the game; it needs an organization and suffers from too many errors in grammar and spelling. I found it interesting, although repetitive (and with no illustrations), and it does have some wise words for the intermediate player who wants to improve his/her game.
Book Description
There are scores of books on real estate investing on the market today, and most give sound information and helpful advice. Yet few people have become wealthy. In The Millionaire Real Estate Mindset, Russ Whitney asks, “Why isn’t everyone rich?” and perhaps more important, “Why aren’t you rich?” What is missing in most people’s real estate strategy, Whitney says, is the millionaire real estate mindset. And, in this book, he tells readers exactly how to develop one.
Whitney explains how you can break free of the fears that hold so many people back. A key part of succeeding in real estate, Whitney claims, is a willingness to spend time educating yourself about the various techniques, options, insights, and possibilities it entails. Other professions and trades require years of education and practice before you can hope to generate significant income. Building wealth in real estate requires similar focus and dedication. He provides specific investing strategies that can work in virtually any market, whether you have cash to start, or not.
Once you have a few successes under your belt, he encourages investors to move up to larger deals. He explains the complexities of raw land investing and development as well as international real estate investing. He examines a variety of funding techniques, from no-money-down to syndications to make the wisest use of your cash. Whitney candidly discusses what can go wrong and how to anticipate and address unpleasant surprises.
From invaluable insights into personal motivation, to advice on improving one’s communication skills, strengthening relationships, and building personal financial strategies, Whitney helps readers overcome feelings of insecurity about investing and move into the market with certainty and self-assurance. With its unique focus on the psychological aspects of investing—an ingredient missing from other how-to real-estate investment guides—The Millionaire Real Estate Mindset will enable readers to break through the “poverty” mentality, take advantage of the booming real estate market, and join the ranks of the rich and superrich.

Can't use it........2007-02-13
I bought this from Canada. I was naive enough to think the contents applied here. But it deals with US laws and real estate only. Therefore it should not have been made available to non US citizens, OR should have been labelled as "For US market only" or words to that effect. Very likely to be fine if you are a US citizen though. But if you're not American, beware! With transportation, that's over $40 wasted.
Great Real Estate book!.......2006-08-30
This is one of the most realistic and fascinating books I've ever read. Russ Whitney is presenting the millionaire mindset and how to accomplish wealth in Real Estate based on his personal life experience in a straight forward manner and very easy to understand. Great starter for beginners and intermediate in Real Estate investing in which they will like to go to the next level.
This stuff really works!! If you do what it says........2006-08-18
This book is excellent. Russ Whitney has PROVED himself. In this book he describes how you need to care about others, not just yourself when investing. You can sense his heart as he teaches you step by step to success. Follow in his footsteps and you WILL be wealthy. I have done it, and IT WORKS! Buy his book, read it, do what it says, and don't let the fears and negative people stop you, or you will regret it. I am also attending Russ's seminars, and the cost of the seminars are well worth it! One deal will pay for all of the seminars combined. It only takes 2 years to be wealthy if you follow his steps. I recommend this book, as well as all his previous books, I have read many. Don't listen to all the negative people, they only want to stop you to your success.
The Millionaire Real Estate Mindset: Mastering the Mental Skills to Build Your Fortune in Real Estate.......2006-07-21
Another masterpiece from Russ Whitney. This book not only touches the basics for the beginning real estate investor, but also offers a great deal to the experienced investor.
Explores what makes some investments rich choices while others strategies are stumbling blocks.......2006-05-26
Whether the real estate bubble bursts or not, many investors still believe it can make money during any market. If that's true, why isn't every real estate owner rich? Russ Whitney's THE MILLIONAIRE REAL ESTATE MINDSET: MASTERING THE MENTAL SKILLS TO BUILD YOUR FORTUNE IN REAL ESTATE explores what makes some investments rich choices while others strategies are stumbling blocks. With its focus on real estate, chapters cover all the basics of what builds wealth, from the myth that raw land is worthless to the reality of investing in properties which can be easily sold, developed, or turned into profitable ventures. Whitney comes with credentials: he's developed his own company and education group to become a recognized leader in real estate investing, holding seminars around the world attended by some 22,000 people. His previous MILLIONAIRE REAL ESTATE MENTOR was a best-seller: don't miss this one.
