This one is guaranteed to make you feel great about your chosen profession. As you laugh away the Purgatorial moments you realize how much you love your kids.

If it wasn't for someone raving about Erma's books ~~ and her insights, I would have never thought of picking her books up again. I remember very vividly reading her columns in my hometown newspaper every day till I moved to college. She is what I consider to be part of the American scene, Mom, Apple Pie and Erma Bombeck.
This book, which I read in one day over this past weekend, is just as wonderful as her other books. It made me laugh and roll my eyes (I don't have teenagers yet) and cry. The one chapter that made me cry the hardest is the letter from a mom whose son is a criminal. I had studied a little bit of criminals and their families in sociology in college, and that letter hit home. I love the letter from a teenager asking how did moms get their bionic and super powers. I love her insights on traveling and coming home. Let's face it, I just love Erma. She really is a woman who has her finger on the pulse of the nation's heart.
This is a wonderful must-read for all moms and their children. This is a book to read in different stages of your life too. I plan to read it again in several years when my two are tweens and again when they're teenagers. I am sure her insights will still help me grow through rocky patches. This is a timeless book. And one that I plan to share with the new moms in my life.

the wonderful, hilarious and insightful Erma Bombeck............2006-02-21
The title, alone, says it all about this book. As long as there has been creation, there have been mothers. The combination of rich humor and sensitive insight keep you entertained, all the while, shedding new light on the joy and rapture of motherhood.
Bombeck leaves a wonderful legacy behind, with this, one of her most well-loved books. Other Bombeck books I would definitely reccomend include: The Grass is Greener Over the Septic Tank, Just Wait Till You Have Children of Your Own!, When You Begin to Look Like Your Passport It's Time To Go Home, and Family: The Ties That Bind (And Gag).
Required reading for Mothers Day and everyday.......2003-02-26
Erma Bombeck was the best humorist of the domestic American scene. This book, focused on her best subject - mothers, is a gem. Both humorous and wise at the same time, it will give you valuable insights one minute and have you rolling with laughter the next. If you are a mother, planning to become one, or want to gain some insight into your own mother, this is the book for you.
While reading this book, I heard two people quote from it. One was a radio food guru and the other was one of those heart-warming emails that someone I know decided to forward to everybody in their online address book. Read this book and you may find yourself quoting from it someday.

Erma Bombeck is as far as I'm concerned the best writer of this century!! I love ALL her books, but I especially love, MOTHERHOOD: The Second Oldest Profession", the best!
It is in my opinion HER VERY BEST WORK!! And should be considered a classic!!
This book will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you think, and above all else it will make you take a second look at your life...and rejoice in it!

The best thing about Yvonne Tasker's newest book, "Working Girls" is the clarity with which she discusses her subject. Too many film theorists get bogged down in discussing "theory for theory's sake," but Tasker illustrates each of her theoretical points-- for instance, the idea of "transvestism of class"-- with concrete examples from a number of films (in this case 'Working Girl' and 'Up Close and Personal'). This makes her larger and more abstract points more accessible to people who are interested in the cultural phenomenon of film, but who are "self-taught." Every time I pick up one of Tasker's books (she also wrote a fascinating study of gender and the action film called "Spectacular Bodies") I come away from it feeling educated and a little more confident in my ability to understand film and the ways in which it moves me. I look forward to her next endeavor.

The guide is fairly good, giving info of characters, weapons, and many other things that are helpful when lost. You don't need to get this for the game, but I found it helpful for mine.

The poor quality of this guide does not exist within the spoilers the guide provides, but rather the content of the guide that is essentially not in-depth. The guide is full of lots of screenshots but they don't really depict anything, just what's going on in the story. The walkthrough doesn't help much. It's more of walkthrough designed for the one who wants to go through the game quickly without getting the secrets and such (which the guide doesn't exactly touch base with either). The walkthrough isn't too confusing but the information provided is just for those who only care about completeing the game. If you're one who actually needs help with the game then the guide can be a life-saver. But if you're looking to find all the secrets and such then look to GameFAQs or somewhere else on the net.

For those gamers who have become used to spoiler-free guides, avoid this one, because it makes playing the game redundant. The guide duplicates much of the dialogue (for what possible reason, I don't know) and is strangely organized.
Lots of pictures (to fill space) and doesn't deliver on "strategy" anyway. The game is enjoyable, linear, and not too difficult. The guide is essentially useless.

The book gives you exactly what it promises but not too much more. It doesn't really go above and beyond and that is why it gets three stars. I will be using it for performance evaluation ideas on reviewing terms. Anything else and the book would not be up to it.

This book would not be terribly helpful to someone who's had some experience in writing performance reviews. It's very basic, but may be a good starting point for a new manager or supervisor.

This book gets right to what you need, phrases for the performance review. This isn't a book you read but a book you use. Grab this book from the shelf, look up the skill or ability, match the performance and choose the phrase that fits best. This approach is straight forward and to the point. A must have for all managers. Then add the documented measurements of that performance like the number of days missed, etc...

Although this book is helpful in writing reviews, the lanugage in the book is very primary, and not useful for management type positions. I was disappointed in the book.
