Rumiko has certainly done it again with Vol. 3. I love every minute of this book. I was practically on the floor laughing. It is hilarious. Yet, it still has the action we all love. Believe me, this book is awesome. This is thee best book series I have EVER seen. You'll love this book. It's great!

5 out of 5 stars gotta love it.......2003-03-16

All I have to say is if you love Anime you will love this series. The graphics are wonderful. The stories are great. It has good humor with a touch of romance and horror. I could read these books over and over again for hours. I'm not just saying this about vol 3 either. All I have read so far are wonderful. But a slight warning, these things are so addictive.

5 out of 5 stars Inu-Yasha is the best series yet!.......2003-01-19

This is the best manga series Ive seen so far. It is an EXECELENT drama, comedy, and fantsy, all in one.
In the beginning Kagome is a normal Jr. High kid but when she accedentally falls into the sacred Bone-Eaters well she is tranported to the Fudal Age of Japan. When she finds herself there, she goes exploring for her family owned shrine. Except it's not there. instead she finds a demon boy named Inu-Yasha.
When she finds herself surrounded by the local villagers she is taken to the village where the preistes examines her to find a remakable resemblance to the high priestes and protecter of the sacred Shikon Jewel. This jewel can give the posesser vast powers wether good or evil. Kagome is in grave danger because many demons in the fuedal age seek the jewel. but when Kagome finds that the jewel is inside her body pretecting it, it gets blown apart by an enchated arrow that Kagome shot, it breaks and the shards cover the feudal japan. Now Kagome has to team up with Inu-Yasha to set out across the feudal Japan to find all the shards before the demons do.
THIS IS AN EXCELENT MANGA!! ...

        5 out of 5 stars wonderful series.......2002-06-28

I love each of the books in this series. I'm a fan of all of the other things I've seen by Rumiko Takahashi, and this series is definitely no exception. In each book there's a serious plot combined with just the right amount of humor. This series isn't quite as silly as Ranma 1/2 (I always get strange looks when I try to explain that one to anyone I know). In this book, Inu-yasha and Kagome meet Nobunaga, a young man who wishes to save a princess in trouble. The three of them end up having to battle the demon that has possessed the princess' husband and is devouring the souls of young women. In the second half of the book, Kagome has decided she needs to go back to her time in order to study for exams. However, demons exist even there, and this one has a shard of the Shikon Jewel. I think this is the first book that includes a little of the incredibly gullible Hojo, and there are hints of a possible romance between Kagome and Inu-yasha. Of course, knowing Rumiko Takahashi, that romance will be very very far in the future, but it's still fun to read about and very cute. I would recommend reading this series in order, or you might become very confused. This is definitely a worthwhile read.

        5 out of 5 stars Inu Yasha.......2001-09-04

This Manga brings us into the present and past at a cross roads. We learn a few things about the Half Demon and his disposition towards Kagome.Kagome's school and family make a few guest appearances.I'm really interested in getting Vol 4 and Vol 5 for my birthday and I recommend this as a birthday gift to a friend or a fan with the same enthusiasm towards this series!

          Book Description

The first and only guide for gay men on how to make sure that when they go out looking to hook up, they don't come home disappointed. Jonathan Bass breaks it all down so that any guy can be getting more than he's getting now. In this book, you'll find the pros and cons of where to hunt: bars, clubs, sex clubs, gay resorts, vacation spots. And because this is the online age, there's also a chat room guide: what certain phrases mean and what to look out for-because we all know men don't lie, right? You'll get tips on the importance of self-assuredness and knowing how to flirt; how to convince a guy to try something new (like you!); how to send the right signals; how to make the other guys he's checking out look bad; and how to use your friends to help you get laid. You will also learn how to navigate the gray area between one-night stands and dating, and finally you'll learn sleeping-around etiquette along the lines of how not to be rude when you're being a naughty boy.

I guess I could be described as a "newby" a relatively attractive guy who could use some helpful hints when it comes to hooking up. I got some useful tips regarding confidence, posture and pickup lines. I recommend this book for all gay men looking to score a little more than they are right now. In the advertisement , it said the book would give tips on how to make the other guys he's checking look bad. Unless I'm blind, there was nothing in the book about that. So for that reason I only gave it 4 stars

2 out of 5 stars Not helpful .......2006-09-18

I found most of the advice in this book to be overly obvious and not very useful. Like where to go to meet guys--bars, saunas, gyms, gourmet food stores--duh! Tell me something I haven't already thought of, and tell me some lines that are really funny and not over the top stuff like, "Where can I find the freshest meat?" Who in the world really says that? I felt like the author treated the whole business of cruising and meeting guys to be a big joke, not the fine art that it is, and something that we really need to work on. Also, some of the stuff in there was just wrong--like "foreplay is for girls!" What??? I don't know what planet this guy is from, but foreplay, anticipation, and attraction are the hottest parts of chemistry that two males can share. If you want real advice on this, I think you're better off looking in the straight aisle, i.e. Double Your Dating by David deAngelo (a downloadable e-book). I've picked up some great tips there and have used them on boys.

5 out of 5 stars Good advice indeed!.......2005-07-29

Where does a shy guy go to answer questions about how to meet other guys? I don't know about you but for this reader "How to get Laid" was just the answer. Thank you Mr. Bass for your useful hints and guidelines for those of us who aren't a Greek god amongst our homo brothers. Come to think of it, even you super hotties can probably learn a thing or two from this book. It's funny and frank and always informative. "How to get Laid" has helped me understand many things about confidence, personal grooming and even etiquette rules when cruising some where other than just your local gay bar. Love the illustrations too!

5 out of 5 stars To the point.......2005-07-29

I'm giving this to my gay friends who don't know the difference between a booty call and a boyfriend. They will learn!

          5 out of 5 stars Sexy Fun.......2005-07-29

While not everyone can use every tip, there are some great, universal hints in here about attracting guys to you. This is perfect for newbies, or guys (and we all know guys like this) who could get a lot of play if they were just a bit more conscious about their body language and more aware of how they appear to others. Plus there's a big section on threeways, non-monogamy, and how to get yourself out of bad hook-up situations. I'd have saved myself a lot of time if I'd been given this when I was 20. There are some really fun illustrations here too.

          Book Description

The incredibly popular, violent horror films of recent decades, such as "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Friday the 13th", and "Nightmare on Elm Street", owe much of their existence to the undisputed Godfather of Gore - Herschell Gordon Lewis. In 1963 Lewis, with his monumental splatter movie "Blood Feast", single-handedly changed the face of horror cinema forever.

As well as virtually inventing the gore genre, Lewis also produced a number of nudie and roughie movies, as well as sampling the full gamut of exploitation subjects ranging from wife-swapping and ESP to rock 'n' roll and LSD. A Taste of Blood details all these, plus gore classics such as "2,000 Maniacs", "Gore-Gore Girls" and "Color Me Blood Red", placing them in context amid the roots and developments of the exploitation films.

A Taste of Blood is a definitive study which not only chronicles Lewis' career as the master of exploitation but also contains interviews with him and many of his former collaborators, including David F Friedman, Bill Rogers, Daniel Krogh, Mal Arnold and Hedda Lubin. These are interwoven with commentary, extremely rare photographs, production stills, posters, and a thorough synopsis of each of Lewis' three dozen influential films. Also included is a stunning 8-page colour section of graphic screen gore.

5 out of 5 stars Analysis can be Fun.......2006-11-14

"A Taste of Blood" is a book I would never have gone out and purchased, but under some unusual circumstance I came to read this book.
Not having heard of H.G. Lewis or his films I never thought I could get into this book.
On reading I found "A Taste of Blood", to be very engaging and interesting. This book reads more like a novel than a review of H. G. Lewis' films. There is a sense of continuity that one does not expect to find in such a work. Christopher Curry has done what every good writer does, he keeps the reader spellbound throughout. One would think that such a work would be predictable, but it's not. The sense of humour which
pervades this book adds a positive punch.
Christopher Curry does not write with the blind devotion of a fan.
Where the work is good he lets us know and where it's bad he writes with equal candour. Well done!

          4 out of 5 stars A fun, informative read.......2005-08-01

This book is a great resource for anyone interested in Herschell Gordon Lewis, or exploitation films in general. Curry has done a remarkable job collecting information on Lewis's somewhat obscure oeuvre giving us a nice plot synopsis, stills or exploitation artwork, and some insightful and often humorous anecdotes. However, if you are hoping for scholarly material, this title is sadly lacking. Curry qualifies more as a "film buff," than a "writer". Much like a Herschell Gordon Lewis film, Curry's cumbersome prose is often unintentionally hilarious. He possesses the grammar and vocabulary of a high school student and one wonders how much of the material could slip by without notice from an editor. Nevertheless, it's difficult to be upset with Curry because his presentation is completely sincere. He's does not write the book just to become a published author. He simply loves these films and wants to share them with others. Overall, I highly recommend this book.

[Since writing this review a year ago, I've collected more of the Creation Cinema books (19 more to be exact). I can no longer completely fault Curry for his amateurish prose style. The Creation Cinema books as a series are quite frequently sloppy in much the same way. The value in the series is the examination of areas of film that previously went virtually unnoticed by mainstream film criticism. The difficulty is that I can't feel great about buying a book that I could have written better. Curry does a good job as far as research and content are concerned, but I'm sure there are many writers who could communicate with more grace and skill. It's unfortunate that these studies weren't conducted by more seasoned scholars, but since they are rather unique, they remain essential for anyone interested in the obscure, arcane, and just plain weird. I still recommend A Taste of Blood, but don't be disappointed by the style.]

5 out of 5 stars AN EXCELLENT GUIDE TO THE WIZARD OF GORE: H G LEWIS.......2000-03-14

Christopher Curry has done a remarkable job of gathering information and interviews and has made A TASTE OF BLOOD a must-have book for horror movie fans, independent film fans, and of course, gore-hounds! The reviews are informative and entertaining, and never talk down to the reader (a fault found in many film books). The big draw here for me is Curry's personal interviews; not only with Lewis and his longtime partner David Freidman, but also with some of his players, including Fuad Ramses himself, Mal Arnold! This book is a valuable addition to my collection... one I will turn to many times for reference.

5 out of 5 stars A Definitive Look at the Films of Herschell Gordon Lewis.......2000-03-07

A Taste of Blood will surely become a treasured part in the collection of every fan of the Godfather of Gore. The book is a comprehensive guide to the films of Herschell Gordon Lewis and an insightful and candid look into the world of exploitation films. It is one exceptional fan's tribute to H.G. Lewis and a fond look back at some of the defining films of the drive-in era. The author provides a detailed look at each and every one of H.G. Lewis' bloody and bizarre (but always entertaining) films. The book contains exclusive interviews, behind the scenes information, detailed plot summaries, and plenty of great insights provided by H.G. Lewis, David Friedman, and many others. Also, the book is overflowing with tons of rare pictures that you will probably never find anywhere else. A Taste of Blood is an entertaining, educational, and engrossing book for the veteran or novice horror/exploitation fan. If you're an H.G. Lewis fan, this book should already be on your shelf. As a long time fan of the Godfather of Gore myself, I'm in awe of the wealth of information included in this book. Give Christopher Curry some well-deserved credit by ordering his book. You will not be disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars An Excellent Addition to the Horror Film Fans Library........2000-02-25

A Taste of Blood belongs in the true horror fan's library sandwiched between David Friedman's A Youth in Babylon and The Amazing World of H.G. Lewis. Taste offers capsulated reviews of all of Mr. Lewis's films as well as interesting interviews with key players. This book is definetly a work written "by a fan, for the fans" and lacks the objective insights to make it a five star work. It is ,however, a compasionate and long overdue tribute to one facet of a multitalented gentleman who deserves the title "Wizard of Gore".

I used this book when replacing a roof and also when building a set of stairs in a barn...I am not a professional builder but the book is clear and easy to understand...my next project is a set of stairs for a basement and I know I will consult this book again.

              Book Description

This time-tested guide to stock trading, published every year since, 1968, is a practical investment tool with a wealth of information organized in a calendar format. You'll learn about little-known market patterns and tendencies that will help you forecast market trends with accuracy and confidence. The data in the Almanac is some of the cleanest in the business, and its analyses are relied upon by savvy professionals, from well-know money managers to journalists. As always, the Almanac encapsulates all the historical price information on the stock market, provides monthly and daily reminders, and alerts users to seasonal opportunities and dangers. In addition, this mid-term election edition focuses heavily on the presidential election cycle and tendencies often resulting in major market moves.

"Information is key to successful investing and investors will find the Almanac a chock-a-block source of need-to-know stuff." -- Steve Forbes, CEO and Editor in Chief, Forbes

5 out of 5 stars Beware of superbookdeals seller.......2006-06-19

If you want to buy the book, go ahead, just be careful of superbookdeals, they take your money but don't deliver and don't answer emails. Caveat Emptor.

3 out of 5 stars A Great Reference Book for Trading.......2006-03-16

As with all the previous editions of this book, it provides a great deal of reference material on the 'probabilities' that the stock market will go up or down during any given hour, day, week, month or year. While you might not want to base your primary investment strategy on this information, you would be a fool to intentionally trade against the odds on a continuing basis.

If you are more of an 'investor' (over months/years) than a trader (over hours, days and weeks) you may or may not need this book. For longer-term investors, the same author's book "The Almanac Investor" is probably a better choice. All in all, both are worth the price of admission.

5 out of 5 stars Got to get one every year..........2006-02-28

I really enjoy The Stock Trader's Almanac not just because it has some great market statistics but because it gives me ideas for new trading strategies and helps me refine some existing ones. My favorites strategies from the Almanac include the best 6 months strategy for the S&P 500 and the Best 8 days for each month. It is always handy to know when the next FOMC meeting is scheduled and the daily quotations are fun to read. If you are a savvy investor, it is another great tool for your arsenal.

              5 out of 5 stars Must Have.......2006-02-25

This book is great - I get the new one every year. It never disappoints.

5 out of 5 stars Stock Trader Organizers!!.......2006-02-23

Outstanding book for staying organized and focused. Great for staying on top of the market day to day. Lots of interesting data on trading patterns, records, trends. Also, it uncanning how many times the book accurately predict bull/bear days. I know its a 50-50 shot but it certainly beats my average.
