Will Be Reprinted.......2007-06-13
I wrote Simon & Shuster, yes this is going to be reprinted. Here is what I received June 12, 2007 "Yes, there will be reprint coming out 10-1-09, ISBN# 1416535179 for $45.00 in hard cover.....Alishia Nix,Customer Service
Simon & Schuster ,Domestic / Canada".........so save some money! It's well worth the $45, I wouldn't pay $200+ though....
It's being reprinted in 2008.......2007-03-08
Check the knittersreview forum before you plunk down an absurd amount of money for this book. The book is on the reprint list for 2008.
If you can't wait that long, take a look at the Mary Thomas knitting books. Those are in print and are better in my opinion.
Let's get this book republished.......2006-10-12
This is by far the best and most comprehensive knitting reference book I have ever seen. I checked it out from the library and instantly succumbed to book envy. Unfortunately, reference books need to be on hand so you can....refer to them. If I had an extra $200+ I would buy it in a minute. Alas, I am not burdened with surplus dollars at the moment. If we all call Simon & Schuster and request that they republish it..... Maybe they will..... They can be reached at www.simonsays.com or 1-800-223-2336. Ask all your knitting friends to call too. Thanks and Happy Knitting!
Petition the Publishers.......2006-10-02
Does anyone know whether this book will really and truly be re-issued?
I would dearly love to have a copy but cannot purchase it at the going auction prices. Maybe we could petition the publishers to reprint it.
This is my knitting bible.......2006-09-27
I'm an on again-off again knitter. I haven't been really into knitting for about 10 years but last year I really got into it again. Well somewhere along the line I bought this book, and boy am I glad I did. This book is my knitting "bible". I KNOW I can master anything about knitting if this book is resting on my knees. You knitters know what I mean. It would be nice for a reissue. Some of the terminology is dated. For instance, if you would be looking for a provisional cast on it wouldn't be in this book. Maybe by another name or something you would be able to find it. You have to look at the diagrams..
I didn't know this book is going for such a high price. I thought I'd look it up and boy was I surprised. But sorry boys and girls I'm holding on to my copy because it is truly a treasure

Book Description
Girls, here it is—everything you need to know about boys: 1. Boys come from the Stupid Factory. 2. Boys are pretty much smelly and useless. 3. It is possible to have fun with boys, however..... 4. If you decide to keep a boyfriend, he will need to be housebroken.
With a South Park-for-girls edgy freshness, artist and entrepreneur (David & Goliath clothing) Todd Harris Goldman updates the eternal battle of the sexes. And this time the girls win. Packaged in soft, puffy cover (so if you do keep a boyfriend around the house, he won't hurt himself too much when he tries to figure out what it is by putting it in his mouth), this bright, irreverent book is the perfect girlfriend gift .
No boys were hurt during the making of this book.

Steals artwork from other artists and passes it off as his own. Check out the wikipdedia article for many examples.
Todd Goldman Steals art and content from other artists.......2007-04-12
Goldman has been accused of stealing dozens of ideas for his shirts and art from other artists. The accusations are that many of these images are copied almost directly from the originating piece, sometimes even traced, and in some cases, taken directly from Google Image Search and Microsoft Clip Art. Goldman has profited upwards of 100 million dollars from selling these images. Anyone thinking of buying this book and giving him more money should do a search for "Todd Goldman plagiarism" to decide for yourself if it's worth it to give your money to this guy.
This was hilarious!.......2007-01-26
I first heard about this boys are stupid throw rocks at them from a girl who had a crush on me. She kept hitting on me even though I never showed any interest in her and I didn't understand why she was so obsessed with me since I didn't do anything to lead her on. She was getting pretty annoying to say the least. Then I found this book in her room and it all started making sense to me. The book was hilarious! Just thinking about all of the losers who are into this stuff makes me glad i'm no longer around her. There are plenty of good women out there. I don't need one that will throw rocks at me simply because I don't want to be her boyfriend.
Very funny, I feel sorry for people who give it one star.......2006-12-19
Speaking as a Todd (and that is how I came to hear about this, my sisters gave me the little Todd doll from the book) I will say this book is great and would make a great gift. Anyone who has a memory will remember what it was like when you were of the age when the opposite sex had kooties.
After all the years of Girl Haters Clubs from the Lil Rascals to Calvin and Hobbs to Bart Simpson, one little book letting the girls have their turn and people are whining like babies. Get a life. Better yet, get this book and give it a friend.
Not for those lacking a sense of humor.......2006-12-09
I found this book hilarious, but then again, I actually have a sense of humor and find political correct types to be over sensitive. I'm totally up for penning a book entitled "Girls are Evil, That's Why I'm not a Lesbian." It's satire, people.
You have to read this book with a grain of salt, or four or five thousand. It's perfect for those girls (or guys depending on what you like) who are going through a break-up, have been cheated on, are being jerked around by someone deserving of a rock.
Book Description
Great writers capture their holiday horror stories in this collection that will thrill and delight all.
It's that time of year again – the holiday season. Between checkout lines that stretch on forever, the
office party hangover, battles with traffic, and delayed flights, what better could you do than curl up with The Worst Noel and laugh your holiday aggravation away?
This collection features an eclectic mix of writers with playful, often dark, humour as the common thread. There's Marian Keyes on preparing dinner for her Irish family of 13, when she's never cooked a day in her life and only owns four chairs; and Mike Albo and his romantic Christmas–in–Paris dream, which turns into
a nightmare after an accident leaves him with a bloodied cross on his forehead. There's Neal Pollack,
a Jew who cooks a holiday ham for his devout Catholic mother–in–law, only to have a drunken brawl ensue; and the festive car ride that Cynthia Kaplan takes, which goes astray when she hits a deer and 'Donner is Dead' becomes her family's holiday story.

Christmas!!?? Oy vey!!.......2006-12-16
Yes, as you might guess from the title, this book is mildly amusing in spots. But then a leopard is coal black in spots, too.
Most of the essays are written by Jewish females who tend to be too arch and clever by half for their own good, and who seem to think that cynicism and pseudo-sophistication are funny in and of themselves. Often, they're not.
Do the essays capture some of the frustrations and imperfections that accompan our biggest holiday? Yes, definitely. But do they, as a whole, also show the beauty and majesty of the Christmas season, of what The Day is really all about? I think not. All too often the writing sounds like the whining of spoiled suburban kids who have had far too much handed to them free gratis in their lives.
If many of the writers are from families who found themselves caught awkwardly between their Jewish heritage and the national peer pressure to participate in the Yuletide -- well, it's part of the fate of minorities to sometimes feel out of step. Get over it.
Jewish Christmas?.......2006-03-24
FIrst off, let me say that I am Jewish myself and grew up in a Catholic neighborhod, where my family was one of the only Jewish families around. So I know plenty about being the "odd girl out" during the holiday season, with many of my own humorous tales.
However, I think it is wildly misleading to label a story collection "The Worst Noel" and then have more than half the stories about Jews who either are celebrating a bogus Christmas they clearly don't believe in (for the parties and gifts) or angsting because they are stuck with the incredibly lame Festival of Hannukah, the poor stepchild of Christmas. There is certainly a place for the assimilated (or unassimilated) Jewish writers to pour forth their anguish or glee or awkwardness, but it is NOT in a book glaringly mislabeled "The Worst Noel". Maybe it's in a book that could be called "The Worst Hannukah" or "The Worst Chrismukkah".
Anyone even nominally Christian, or even non-sectarian, who picks up this book hoping to read actual funny stories about CHRISTIANS celebrating THE MOST IMPORTANT HOLIDAY OF THE YEAR is going to feel wildly cheated. After all, Jews make up roughly 1.5% of the US population (although disproportionately more of the book buying public). It would make more sense to write about a Muslim's outlook on Christmas or a Hindu's or even an atheist's.
Maybe the publisher thought a story collection called "Dysfunctional Jews At Christmastime" wouldn't sell. But this book is a cheat and misleading. While about 1/3 of the stories are genuinely funny (although collected here inappropriately), the rest are often whiny and betray an insulated sense of privilege, as they are entirely about wealthy, educated intellectuals whose idea of how to celebrate the holidays bumps up against Southerners, low-lifes, non-intellectuals and peope with -- GASP! -- bad taste.
I guess therefore that "bad taste" is the ultimate sin against Christmas. I don't read any ringing indictments of tasteful, Martha Stewart/Pottery Barn celebrations.
HINT: buying this for a Christian friend or family member as a holiday gift would be a huge mistake.
Ack. "The Worst Book" would be a better title!.......2006-03-20
I read a review of this book in a magazine, and thought it would be the perfect thing to help get me through hosting Christmas in my home for my dysfunctional family.
Because I don't normally purchase books except as gifts or reference items, or unless I KNOW I'll love it, I put a reserve on this book in late November at my local library.
Christmas came and went, and the book was still not available.
Wow! I thought. This book must be really great! I looked so forward to getting it and curling up with it on a cold day.
When I finally got notice from the library that the book was available, I rushed to get it, and started in on it during a long car trip. (You know a book is bad when it makes a long car trip seem longer.)
This book is full of such neurotic, pathetic whining and overblown, uninteresting angst, that I actually felt ripped off - and I got the book for FREE from the library.
If I had actually spent anything other than time and gas money to obtain this book, I would have done whatever necessary - including demanding my money back from whereever I had purchased it, AND asking for an apology from the editor who compiled this little compendium of holiday drivel - in order to feel remotely satisfied with the experience.
I have never done an online review of a book I have read. This book, however, is so horrifically-bad, that I feel compelled to save even ONE person from having to read this dreck.
Polar Express it isn't!.......2006-01-17
This is a book for the people who no longer hear the ring of the bell -- but if you're in that category (or are just generally fatigued by holiday cheer), then this is for you. The 18 short stories very in quality but, overall, they reflect bright writing about sometimes depressing holiday happenings. Leave it in your bathroom at your holiday party and group your guests by their reactions as they leave. Those with a sense of humor about the holidays will be amused. Those without (perhaps some of the reviewers here) could be upset.
Whining New Yorkers haven't a clue!.......2006-01-11
An abysmal collection of foul-mouthed Northeasterners who have no clue what Christmas is truly about think that it is hilarious to present absurd caricatures of families from the South as ignorant hicks who cling to stupid, outdated traditions which are skewered on each page. Does this sound really funny? Then this is the book for you.
There are some really funny elements of our modern-day Christmas celebrations which are ripe for humorous examination, but if your idea of cleverness and wit involves something more than cheap shots and four-letter obscenities you would do better to look elsewhere for a good read.

The Perfect Christ Centered Marriage Guide.......2007-06-03
No matter how long you have been married, you must always remember that God comes first. This book reminds us that a healthy, Godly marriage works in this order: 1)God, 2) Marriage 3) Self 4) Children 5) All Else. Without Him, a marriage is doomed. This book has allowed me and my Wife to address minor and major issues using God's direction. This is actually a second publishing, with the first being mostly secular. The authors have taken scripture and make it very clear that God wants marriage to be Spirirtually based. No matter what issue you may be having in your marriage, using God's directives can heal all wounds - past and present. As a Chaplain and a Counselor, I have found this to be the ultimate guide to healing a realtionship. I now recommend this book to all my clients, regardless of their religious beliefs. It provides scripture as an adjunct to the core message of each topic, and is very easy to follow. The authors have written it so that one may read a section regarding their specific problem, or it can be read in the order it was written. If you are yearning to have a Godly marriage - THIS IS THE MANUAL YOU NEED. Peace and God Be With You.
Great relationship/marriage tool, especially for those engaged........2007-02-27
Having had moved over 2k miles to be with my fiance (CA to OH), I was eagerly looking into jumping into a premarital counseling program. With all the adjustments (move, weather, searching for new home church, limited contact w/ accountability team, vulnerability, and coming from total independence to dependence), issues, both past and present, came up and were inevitable for both of us. Having seeked out counseling at a nearby church, a counselor and wonderful wise man of God, Dr. Fink, recommended we read this book together. With our conflicting schedules, we were not able to participate in the onsite program at the church that covers this book. But, our counselor gave us some good advice when reading through this book together.
The method that's worked for us is reading one (1) chapter per week in our "own" convenient time and answer the questions/exercises on an index card or two in our own time (between Monday thru Thursday), exchange answer cards that Friday morning/afternoon (and wish each other a good day at work, etc), and then go over the answer cards "together" on Sunday evening (he reads to me what I wrote, I read to him what he wrote) and we discuss it (what lead to that, give each other examples, ask if we want to add to it, etc). This way, we have 2 days to process & ponder each others answers, and not immediately react and try to convince each other that one or the other's answer(s) is(are) better and/or right.
So far, we're on our third week, and although it's still early on, I'm finding lots of growth and acceptance in this. The concepts and techniques are simple and applicable. I'm hopeful once again, and am excited about doing the rest of the chapters. Lots of positive changes in both of us toward oneness, although we are not perfect and still have fallen and may fall short, though I can see we're putting into practice what we've learned so far and that's what helps us not give up, but stay hopeful.
Although we are doing this in our time w/out a counselor daily/weekly, our counselor has left the door open to us (together or alone) to come meet with him to discuss any problems or issues we can't seem to work on.
God willing, our plan is to do the PREP after these 14 weeks, and move forward with the wedding plans.
If you're reading this, I recommend you get the book. I don't think this book will get much dust on the shelves as it will be referenced often. I will also recommend this to family and friends (engaged, married, and those in long-term relationships).
Blessings,
mb

This book, along with the non-Christian version, Fighting for your Marriage, is great! This is great marriage enrichment stuff and helps so much with communication, as well as increasing fun in your marriage. Great for small groups. [...].
