Not what I expected........1999-09-10
Provides pricing guidelines on specific items, but not very applicable to other metalware. I collect pewter mugs and steins, and found the publication of no help in this area.
A terrific reference for my metalware collectibles........1998-08-06
I found everything I needed in the 19 categories included -- iron, zinc, aluminum, all with prices and helpful collecting tips. Not many of these books around. This is a good one!

Book Description
Everyone can relate to having a family member with an unusual hobby or habit. The Fox clan is no different. The youngest Fox is Jason, whose best friend is an iguana named Quincy. His sister, Paige, is a shopaholic. The oldest Fox sibling is Peter, whose stomach is a bottomless pit. But perhaps the most unusual of all is level-headed mom and official family mediator, Andy, who is working through her obsession with the movie Titanic. A slave to her emotions, she is brought to tears at a mere hint of the soundtrack and attends multiple movie screenings each day. This leaves well-meaning husband, Roger, struggling to live up to her new romantic expectations. All of this is par for the course in the hilarious but hectic Fox household. What makes the Fox clan so entertaining? They're just like us-only funnier-with no sappy sentimentality. Readers can't help but recognize a little bit of themselves in this family strip with its good-hearted, if not eccentric, characters. The Foxes deal with everything from sibling rivalry to marital disagreements over golfing habits to sharing time on the computer, always making us laugh in the process. FoxTrot has amassed a colossal audience of fans of all ages who eagerly turn to this hilarious strip each day, whether in newspapers or on the Web. New fans and loyal readers alike will enjoy "I'm Flying, Jack . . . I Mean, Roger", the latest FoxTrot collection. Wanna Laugh Like a Hyena? Pick Up a FoxTrot Book!.......2007-02-17
I have been a faithful FoxTrot reader for years. Roger, Andy and their kids Peter, Paige and Jason are always good for a reality check with a large dose of laughter. I've got two girls and let me tell you, I see a lot of my kids in Paige with, I believe, even a healthy dose of Jason thrown in. And they have Peter's bottomless stomach. Of course, they're faithful FoxTrot readers too. I used to read the strip to them, explain what was going on, but now they get it just fine and we three all laugh together. Then my girls try and explain the strip to their dad, who pretends he doesn't get it.
The FoxTrot folks are a great family, one we sort of got used to checking up on every day, so we took the news that Mr. Amend was going to cease daily distribution of his wonderfully funny people and turn his strip to Sunday only, with a bit of sadness. Still, we have these terrific FoxTrot books to keep us going with our FoxTrot fix. Mr. Amend is to be commended for his great gift to our culture and his great gift to so many lives. I truly believe a laugh a day, helps keep the blues away and the FoxTrot gang are always good for a laugh. Heck there are a lot of laughs in the FoxTrot books. I know, I have them all and I am, along with my girls and my hubby dear, eagerly awaiting the next one.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention, we don't have an iguana, but my girls do have a pet gecko and, you guessed it, his name is Quincy.
I'M Flying, Jack...I Mean, Roger. Foxtrot, All Great!.......2007-01-20
I've been a Foxtrot reader for a long time and personally I think there is something suspiciously wrong with people who don't find Bill Amend's characters funny as all get out. If you want a good laugh, check out Bill in your local newspaper, or better yet, get one of the Foxtrot books. They are all great, really, they are.
Like many of Mr. Amend's fans I'm a bit disappointed he's switching his strip to Sunday-only, but fortunately I can still read him daily in the Foxtrot books. Get them one and all and you can keep right on a laughing.
LOOK AT MY LIST, OF COURSE ITS GOOD!!.......2002-10-26
Needless to say, this FoxTrot comic book is very funny. Needless to say, if you are a fan of comic strips of any kind, I would quickly usher a large amount of FoxTrot books your way.
The outrageous series in this book include:
-Sportschatter vs. Duke Nukem
-Titanic Craze
-Valentine's Day
-Power shut-out
-gotee magic
-finals week (always a FoxTrot staple)
-BittyBaby Craze
-X-Men the movie
-Jasondows98
-Football training
-mutant zucchini
-Tomb Raider 2
-Babysitting (for Mrs. O'Dell)
-Airguana
-First day of school clothes
-The 97-panel comic
-How to promote your comic
-Wind essay
-POST-Halloween craze
Now, you SHOULD just be imagining in your head right now the funny twist that Bill Amend puts on these. If not, well, you should!!!
Great job Bill Amend, you rock!!!!
If you don't think that getting 369 good laughs for 10 bucks is a good deal, don't buy this.
Fox Trot on....Again!.......2002-04-04
Great book! One of the best, actually. As I said in my other Fox Trot review, I just can't get enough! I dread the day Bill Amend decides to retire. May that day never, ever come!
This book is must for your collection!
Very timely, but very funny.......2001-06-25
I have always enjoyed the Foxtrot series, and this collection is a wonderful addition. The strips are very timely, so the pure bite might have faded a bit -- for example, references to Tomb Raider and Titanic seem a little outdated now -- but they still have the power to make me laugh out loud. Seeing Andy surrounded by Kleenex and sobbing because "My Heart Will Go On" is on the radio still makes me crack up!
Another winner from Bill Amend. Enjoy!
Book Description
Until recently, it was impossible to find anyone who would take the disease of assholism seriously. Author X. Crement, M.D. corrects this omission with this encyclopedic introduction to the problems of assholism. Written primarily to help recovering assholes become decent human beings once again, A**holes No More has become an underground bestseller. It has been used in police training schools, alcholic recovery programs, and much more.
Customer Reviews:
Food for thought about excrement incarnate.......2006-11-13
Author X. Crement gives the real poop on assholism using tongue-in-cheek observations, book references, & recommendations to provide the reader with good belly laughs yet food for thought as well. He extrapolates his theory (a parody of numerous other books & schemes) to point out the perils of assholism (applied narcissism IMHO) to both the sufferers, their co-dependents, & others who have the misfortune of meeting them. The book has some fine lines--p. 64: "They are as full of contradictions as a porcupine selling balloons," "quotes"--p. 138: Oliver South--"The most entertaining fiction I read is in the newspaper every morning," psychological observations-- p. 66: "Many neurotics & depressed people are nothing more than the victims of assholes," conclusions--p. 4: "People become assholes because asshole behavior seems to work," & statistical challenges--p. 80: "The majority of people are assholes." But he also provides a humorous 12-step program to address these problems. It's one of the funniest books I've read, up there with Grant Naylor's "Red Dwarf: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers." Enjoy, & share with your many suffering friends (sufferers & victims alike).
one trick pony.......2003-01-12
The chapters on religion and litigation
are right on the money. Unfortunately
the book is a one joke affair which eventually
becomes too repetitive.
For all naive trusting types, this book is educational.......2002-09-01
It's not you! It's them! I was given one copy, read it, then bought 3 to pass along to friends in need of education. Enlighting book.
Well worth buying!.......2001-03-10
This parody on self-help books is well written and very funny. It's observations are frighteningly accurate and the author's advice is useful. Considering how common Assholism is in America I'm surprised this book is not a National Bestseller.
Direct, crass, funny, and hits the nail on the head.......2001-02-08
At first I was shocked, then I found myself laughing. So funny, and hits the nail on the head. You'll recognize every obnoxious person you ever dealt with, even (uncomfortably) yourself. I highly recommend it - and if you buy one copy, you'll buy ten to give away.

A Mixed Bag but still a Fun Read.......2005-03-22
The title is a misnomer - Movie Game Book: A Serious Book of Film Trivia. Yes there is a single trivia question listed every other page in the border and yes every 10 pages or so there are two pages which test your film knowledge via question and answer. But the other 8 page of each 10 are two page outlines of various film related subjects and themes - everything from important directors, to influential ideas (e.g. McCarthyism) to specific film studios.
So, as the bulk of the film is a film studies outline - if you have an interest in short but interesting capsules - I would recommend it. Particularly if you don't have a Hollywood-centric view of films. World films, directors and studios are significantly covered and one of the more enjoyable aspect of the book.
Some of the language is less than polished as it was obviously transcribed from a French edition. They could also do with a bit of proof checking. For example, on the subject of film blockbusters they list Gone with the Wind with 11 Oscars when it won 8 Oscars and another two wins were plaques - the math still falling short of 11. Yet on the next page they mention that Titanic with 11 Oscars beat Gone With The Wind's total. The writers/editors also do too much editorializing. It's fine to have a home country bent but when you are on the topic of film "Blockbusters" and you write "From The Bridge on the River Kwai (David Lean, 1957) to The Day After Tomorrow (Roland Emmerich, 2004), great spectacles have been Hollywood's pride and glory. A Frenchman, nevertheless, has managed to match them: Jean-Jacques-Annaud. Always energetic and spectacular, whether in an anthropomorphic saga (The Bear), a thriller set in the Middle Ages adapted from Umberto Eco (The Name of the Rose), or in joyful pursuit of the tribe of the Ulams in Quest for Fire." Point being that if you are writing about true blockbusters in film history when you start discussing The Name of the Rose (and spend one quarter of the two pages allotted to do it) you truly have lost perspective.
Ending on a positive note, the book is absolutely loaded with beautiful black & white and color prints of film scenes along with film posters, star photos and the like. The shots are quite beautiful and well presented on good quality paper. One only wishes the footprint of the book were slightly larger to show these terrific shots off even more.

GRE Music review - old and inaccurate.......2007-09-07
While I haven't actually taken the GRE Music Examination (I used this review guide to prepare for another graduate level diagnostic exam), I was not impressed with this guide. It contained a number of mistakes, wrong answers. And, it appears to have been typed on a 1960's era manual typewriter which causes me to wonder if it is current with the GRE music exam being given today, 2007. The types of questions covered in the review did give me general ideas on topics to study and helped me to identify general, not specific, areas to strengthen.

Great concept...light on material.......2004-09-01
Those familiar with the Munchkin line will recognize the sarcasm and style right off the bat. Geared toward the group of gamers who are only concerned with killing the bad guys (usually Orcs), taking their riches, and then leveling up. These players don't Role Play and are only interested in wealth and power. These are the Munchkins of the gaming world. This book is for them and approaches this style of gaming with a great sense of humor. Be aware that this book and the others in this series are for use with the d20 games initially produced by the WOTC company for the Dungeons and Dragons game. There are a series of card games in the Munchkin line that are great in their own right but make sure you know what you are buying. While this is a hardback book and has a great sense of humor, it is only 48 pages long and can be read cover to cover in one sitting. The fact that the price is relatively low doesn't mean that you necessarily get your money's worth. Given that this game is totally based on a previously published work (which the authors do acknowledge)the cost for 48 pages of product is extremely high. I think they should have combined this product with the other books in the series and put out a decent sized tome that gamers could purchase at one time. Instead, the books (each only about 48 pages) are released piecemeal and the gamer gets gouged, as usual. Steve Jackson Games are the kings of endless supplements so be aware of what you are getting into. If this book were of a decent length it would have easily garnered 5 full stars. The lack of depth and material knocks it down.

Great read, and very informative. This is a must-have for the wanna-be or "thinkin' about it" Day Trader or any kind of trader. The principles covered span all types of trading. The author is clear, concise and to-the-point. Loved it! Will keep it to re-read and reference.
A Beginner's Guide to Day Trading Online.......2007-09-03
I am very pleased with the ammount of informatioon of on candlestix charts. I was going to order the candlestix course later. This book has much information on chart technical analysis that I need.
I want to thank you for adding this title to my cart because I previously had not heard of this book.
Thank you.
this is a good straight forward beginner's guide to trading online..........2007-08-09

Great primer for novices and beginners.......2007-05-30
Although there are plenty of reviews on Amazon to help you decide whether or not to buy the book, I wanted to offer my two cents.
As for the positive points of the book, the title is dead on: "A BEGINNERS Guide to Day Trading Online". The book is a great primer that introduces you to the world of day trading, trading jargon and terminology and, although briefly, charting and technical analysis. The book is well written and Toni Turner does a great job of explaining things in layman's terms. I personally thought the book excelled in two areas. First, the book does a good job of introducing the readers to the styles of day trading. Toni explains the time frame and investment goals of classic day trading, swing trading, and scalping. Whenever she introduces a new theory or strategy, she takes the time to show the reader how the newly introduced topic relates to the day trader, the swing trader, and the scalper. Secondly, I appreciate the fact that Toni puts together a point-by-point checklist to help the beginning trader choose a stock. The checklist is by no means perfect and you will definitely want to include/exclude certain criteria when you begin to trade, but instead of aimlessly looking through thousands as stocks after you finish the book, she gives you a good starting point.
Another positive point of the book is the fact that the author includes short quizzes at the end of each chapter to help you absorb the information just presented and a "Center Point" that features a motivational quote and couple of paragraphs of reflection. The "Center Point" motivational speech compliments the authors "Rah-Rah" Cheerleading-type tone and constant overuse of the exclamation point that other reviewers complained about. I really didn't mind the authors cheerleading and enthusiasm, but I can understand how some people were annoyed by it. I would definitely prefer a lively author who is excited about the world of trading than a dry, cold author with no personality.
As for negative factors, I think Toni Turner tends to oversimplify things a bit. You come away feeling as though you're ready to place your first trade after reading the book when you are really only beginning to scratch the surface. The book offers VERY LITTLE technical analysis. Toni never mentions key indicators such as MACD, RSI, ROC, or PSAR. I understand the book is just a primer for beginners and that the aforementioned technical indicators are not necessary for someone who is trying to decide whether or not he/she wants to trade for a living. However, if Ms. Turner is going to suggest you can begin trading after finishing the book, she should at least suggest to the reader that there are other technical indicators to be considered before entering a stock position.
Here is how you should decide if this book is for you or not:
If you are novice who is considering trading part-time or would like a solid introduction to day trading as a full-time profession, this book is for you. WORD OF CAUTION: Do not open up a brokerage account armed solely with the knowledge in this book. You will go broke quickly. I suggest you follow up this book with other books on the subject of trading (Toni gives you a listing at the end) and paper trade for a couple months before you even begin to think about trading with real money.
If you are an advanced-beginner or intermediate trader, this book is not for you. You probably already have a working knowledge of every concept Ms. Turner presents.
Nice format.......2007-04-18
Toni Turner tells us a simplified version of (probably) everything that she knows about the art of trading on line. The book is basicaly a text book that explains all the do's, dont's, how to's and how not to's that a begining investor must know. Everything she says makes perfect scence and is so clear and easy to understand... as well as darned interesting. My favorite quote from the book is ' When Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!'. ( Mama refering to Mother Market ) buy it!
