Next, Erika sends Red out to find Eevee. Red's got some new high-tech devices thanks to Bill, Professor Oak's rival, but will they protect him from the angry Nidoking he encounters in the Safari Zone?
Customer Reviews:
Totally Awesome!.......2006-07-01
This is a reeeeeeeeeeeeely neat book. DEFINITLY better than the tv show, little more violent and serious and goofyish and cute all at the same time. It introduces another character who is the water starter trainer (though admittedly, she stole it) and Bill, a hillbillyish researcher (ironicly, both are scared of birds). It ends a little open ended but it's good nonetheless. In case you want to know what pokemon's artwork are in it they are: Bulbasaur, ivysaur,Poliwhirl, pikachu, pinsir, charmeleon, charmander, squirtle, wartortle, snorlax, half of mewtwo, rhydon, hitmonlee, gravelar, machamp, tauros, ditto, jigglypuff, mew, jynx, porygon, marowak, golduck, machoke, pidgeot, scyther, diglett, krabby, ninetales, tangela, eevee, vileplume, drowzee, jolteon, vaporeon, flareon, bellsprout, kadabra, nidoking, nidoqueen, victreebell, weepinbell, parasect, eggsecute, sandshrew, magmar, cloyster, dragonite, gyarados, starmie, articuno, muk, gengar, arcanine, rapidash, moltres, areodactyl, zapdos, charizard.
Pokemon does it again!.......2005-12-19
Pokemon always amazes me, and it always will. This manga amazed me in ways beyond belief. Unlike the anime, this manga is based off the video games. To be specific, it is based off of Pokemon Red, Pokemon Green (a.k.a. Pokemon Blue in America), and Pokemon Blue (Japan-only). The main character is Red, based off the main character of the game. His rival is Green (a.k.a. Blue in America). He was based off the rival in the game. Then, we meet a cute, yet cunning, girl name Blue (a.k.a. Green in America), who was an original character. She was used as the female character years later in Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Leaf Green.
This manga is not something you'd expect little kids to read. It goes beyond the "kiddy" image, targeting towards young teens. The blend of the storyline from the game, plus original ideas, make this a great novel. That, and I can't get enough of Bill's accent.
If you like Pokemon, this is the manga for you!
Pokemon Adventures Volume 2.......2005-11-04
This comic book is really good. However, the comic book world of Pokemon is a bit more grim than the television show or game, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it for younger or more sensitive children. The comic book series centers around Red, a trainer from Pallet Town, who looks rather like Ash from the TV show, but he's a bit different. And, of course, he has a Pikachu.
There is also his rival, Blue, who is more or less a duplicate of Gary, only perhaps a bit more unpleasant; in other words, Blue is a complete jerk. Obviously, he does not get along with Red.
Also, introduced in Volume 2 is Green, a character who doesn't seem to be based on anyone from the game or TV show. She's a female Pokemon trainer who is described in the book as "a liar and a thief, but not a bad person". Initially, she doesn't seem to be trustworthy, but she turns out to be an ally to Red eventually.
Another difference between the books and the TV show is that many of the gym leaders are bad guys. Sabrina, Koga and Lieutenant Surge, for instance, are Team Rocket executives. So there's a great deal more at risk in the comics than there is on the TV show.
In conclusion, this book is quite good, but maybe not the best thing for a younger or more sensitive Pokéfan.
Really good!.......2002-07-17
Unlike the corny tv show, this comic is not only awesome, but more realistic.(In some ways.) I reccomend it to all who enjoy the pokemon franchise.
POKEMON POKEMON POKEMON.......2002-01-19
In vol.2 of Pokemon Adventures the first thing that happens is red meats a girl named Green who is a tricky thief. She might be a liar and a thief but she is not a bad person. Then red hears Team Rocket talking about her so he spies on them. After that his and Blues pokeballs got mixed up. If this sounds exciting to you I sugest you get this book to find out more.

Book Description
This second edition of Music Therapy expands the information in the previous edition by updating the reviews of the medical literature and discussing recent developments in this growing field. This book provides an overview of basic information regarding the practice of music therapy-including historical development, principles and procedures, and areas of clinical practice. It also encompasses specific arenas where music therapy is successfully applied, such as for persons who have mental retardation, learning disabilities, hearing and/or visual impairments, autism, mental or behavioral disorders, and severe, multiple disabilities. Populations include individuals suffering with depression or anxiety disorders, psychiatric patients, alcoholics and substance abusers, persons with traumatic brain damage, and individuals with AIDS. It describes how music therapy can be used in the treatment of children and adolescents as well as the elderly and terminally ill. There is also a chapter on using this approach to therapy to promote wellness and well-being, providing examples of music experiences that can facilitate relaxation and stress reduction, improve coping and problem-solving abilities, and promote healthy habits.
Book Description
Few players have any idea how to make use of the odds to solve problems at the bridge table. Here, keeping theory to a minimum, the authors clearly show, through many practical examples, how to calculate the odds for improved play.
Customer Reviews:
Not just odd calculations but how to combine chances.......2006-10-20
While the calculation of the odds is interesting this is a practical book as well as a methematical one. Theer are numerous problems where teh reader needs to improve their chances by combining plays. Such as playing AK of a long suit to see if the Q drops before taking a finesse.
Not only is the information useful, its well presented adn enjoyable to read.
The math is not especially dificult and if you want to become a good player you should be aware of this. I put it under "knowing your fundamentals"
I liked this a lot more than the Vivaldi book. The Terence Reese book "Master the Odds" was ok, this was better.
An excellent book about bridge odds.......2005-07-17
I've read several of Kelsey's books, and the problems he gives are often rather difficult. Those in this book are usually easy, however. And that is how it should be. Most decisions at the bridge table are pretty easy. You just need to make the right ones consistently.
After a brief introduction to basic probability theory, Kelsey tells us about the odds for distributions of missing cards. The next chapter is on how to play various card combinations in a suit.
After that, we practice combining chances as a declarer. We learn to play for a drop in one suit before taking a risky finesse in another, and so on.
Next is a chapter on care of options. Sometimes, the opponents will remove one of your options. Sometimes, you will remove one of theirs. We learn to make some straightforward plays that take all this into account.
Of course, one elementary aspect of bridge is that the odds change as the hand is played. If an opponent shows out of a suit, or gives you other information about the distribution of cards, the odds can change. And Kelsey expresses the change in odds by the number of "vacant places" that remain undetermined.
The final elementary concept in bridge odds is generally referred to as "restricted choice." Kelsey finds this term confusing, so he calls it "freedom of choice." A simple example is when you have nine trumps, missing the Queen, Jack, five, and four. With the Ace and King in your hand, you try the Ace. Your left-hand opponent drops an honor! Before that happened, you would have played for the suit to split 2-2. But you now realize that there are only two kinds of hands your opponent could have started with: a singleton honor or both honors. There are two hands where your opponent has a singleton (singleton Queen and singleton Jack). And only one hand where your opponent has both honors. So the odds are nearly 2 to 1 in favor of finessing on the next round of trumps. That's a basic concept one has to know in bridge, and Kelsey gives some more examples of it.
This book is easy to read but teaches some valuable lessons. There is only one statement I seriously disagree with in it, and naturally, it is not about bridge. Near the start of the book, Kelsey asks about the probability of a "tossed coin" to come down tails if it has come down heads nine times running.
Kelsey is trying to explain that the chance of tails is not greater than 50%. After all, the coin has no memory. It is not going to come down tails just to even the odds! Kelsey says that each toss of the coin is a separate 50% chance.
Well, that's not quite true. The chance of it coming down tails is not 50%. After all, there is only one chance in 512 of a fair coin coming down heads nine times running. The chance may be considerably greater if the coin (or the toss) is not fair. If the coin is two-headed, the chance of nine straight heads is 100%.
Clearly, the chance of tails on the tenth throw is less than 50%.
I recommend this book.
Book Description
Successful project management is increasingly vital to all organizations, driven by the demands of global competition, rapid technological growth, and faster time to market (just to name a few). For those in technology fields, project management skills are fast becoming a required core competency. And those who have mastered these skills continue to be in high demand worldwide, commanding higher salaries than those around them. But how does one extend those skills or acquire them in the first place? Fundamentals of Technology Project Management is a great place to start.
Of the hundreds of project management books on the market, precious few address the unique needs of the IT project manager. Unlike most other project management books, Fundamentals of Technology Project Management tackles the specific issues that technology professionals must face, such as understanding technology resources, managing project scope and feature creep, and meeting client expectations, among many others.
Whether you're a college student, a software engineer, or an IT professional, Fundamentals of Technology Project Management will help you gain a comprehensive understanding of the project management life cycle and learn how to manage it – from first steps on through to intermediate topics (as well as some advanced ones). Author Colleen Garton explains — in easy-to-understand language— not only the what but the how of IT projects. What's more, unlike general project management books, the examples and case studies in this book are all based on technology projects, making them far more relevant to the learner.
Also included is a content-rich CD-ROM loaded with features to make the life of any IT project manager (or the IT professional with project management responsibilities) far easier. There are document templates you can use for all phases of the project — from the initial RFP to closing reports. Plus, the author steps you through meeting agendas, status reports, cost analysis, technical specifications, and more. In addition to the document templates, you're provided with PowerPoint slides that can be modified and used for reporting progress to users and management.
The continuing rise in importance of project management cannot be denied. Let this book be your guide to becoming a more effective, more efficient IT project manager.

Customer Reviews:
It is a very good buy!.......2007-06-27
It is a great project management book with lot of free templetes. Writers explained everything very easily. Every project manager should have a copy of this book.
Not as good as expected.......2007-05-13
The condition of the book was new when I saw it on the item list, but acctually, it was not. There are many pages in this book have been marked and noted abviously. I'm so said that the seller was cheating me.
Good book on PM in Technology.......2007-04-30
If you work on technology projects, you will pick up some good tips from this book. You will also learn a few general pronciples of project management. However, do not expect it to be compatible with the PMI Standard for project management.
Great book for Beginners.......2007-03-01
I have taken on a new task as a Program Manager so this book was excellent. It really laid out the processes and what you need to be an effective Project Manager. If you're new to technical PM, this is great. If you've got the experience, this book may not be for you. The CD that came with the book is full of great templates! The author made some very interesting points and is just a good book all around.
Fundamentals of Technology Project Management.......2007-01-04
It's a great book for a project manager. It both helpful for a beginners in the project handling and management, and for the experienced project leaders. For beginners - it is the guidelines how to organize and coordinate the project 'right the first time'. For experienced leaders it's a chance to review your organizational skills and practice and have more 'scientific' approach to projects currently running.

Book Description
How to reap the enormous benefits of this dynamic new practice
SUCCESSFUL PARTNERING
Fundamentals for Project Owners and Contractors
In the tightly budgeted and competitive business environment of the 1990s, firms involved in construction projects can no longer (if they ever could) afford the suspicions, squabbles, and even litigation that have afflicted far too many projects. This enlightening book shows project owners, construction professionals, and others how to implement the recently developed practice of partnering as a more efficient, cost-effective, and far less stressful way of planning, organizing, and completing construction projects. Adopted by such organizations as the Army Corps of Engineers, its growing number of converts have reported fewer delays and lawsuits and other benefits, including a more cooperative and focused work atmosphere. With this new book—the only one of its kind currently available—practicing professionals will gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of partnering and how to apply them to their construction projects.
Successful Partnering
It is a sad fact that as many as 700f all construction projects will result in some kind of litigious action and this, in turn, will result in enormous losses of money, time, and energy for all parties involved. In the hope of avoiding this debilitating drain on resources, many construction-related firms have adopted the recently developed practice of partnering. In partnering, all participants work together and accept joint responsibility for the completion of a project. Successful Partnering shows you how to initiate and build partnering relationships in your projects, and how, with a united management agenda, a construction team can focus on problem solving instead of fault finding.
Written by two recognized authorities on partnering, this unique guide takes you through the process of partnering, giving you invaluable insights from the perspectives of principal participants. By examining the case studies and numerous examples that illuminate the text, you will learn from the inside what works and what doesn't, and how to maximize your chances of establishing a successful partnering relationship. Specifically, this book provides insights on such important issues as:
- Why partnering is becoming a rapidly growing practice in the construction industry and what the benefits are for owners, construction contractors, architects, engineers, and others
- How to lay the foundation for partnering: testing for good contracts, good teaming, and good partnering
- The fundamental principles and mechanics of partnering, including the roles of the facilitator and the trainer
- Legal aspects of partnering
- The personal and group dynamics of partnering and how they affect creative problem solving and efficiency
Successful Partnering is an indispensable guide to a practice that is revolutionizing the way construction projects are being organized and completed. Written for all those involved in the complex work of construction—engineering, design, and construction managers; as well as lawyers, accountants, and suppliers, Successful Partnering is a lucid introduction to an important new development in construction management.
Customer Reviews:
The best book on the subject.......2003-08-16
After searching for a reference that had practical and useful applications "Successful Partnering is it. While concise, it is packed with useful tools that make partnering work and not just another theory.
Book Description
This first edition of Construction Management Fundamentals is general in terms of individual construction process activities and comprehensive in terms of construction fundamentals (get work, do work, keep score). This is a comprehensive new text for the emerging Construction Fundamentals course taught to non-construction engineering and architecture majors taking only one or two construction courses. These students are not majoring in construction and have very little knowledge of the construction industry, construction processes, or how projects are executed.
