Book Description

THE FIRST A DELUXE EDITION AND THE SECOND AN EDITION ACCESSIBLE TO STUDENTS AND PEOPLE WHO DO NOT WANT EITHER CANNOT BUY EXPENSIVE EDITIONS, IN BOTH QUALITY IS A MUST. THERE MIGHT BE A THIRD CHOICE FOR THOSE WILLING TO HAVE A MASTERWORK BY MEANS OF A LIMITED EDITION NOT ONLY IN ITS PRESENTATION BUT ALSO WHITH A PARTICULAR OR BETTER STILL A FOREWORD OR AN INTRODUCTION EXCLUSIVELY FOR THIS ISSUE BY A REPUTED SCHOLAR ON THE SUBJECT.

If you are a lover of movies & cinema,(in general), then this book is a wonderful addition to your library. This book is, as the title says, an encyclopedic book regarding the silent movie actresses from 1895-1930.
I bought this book because I just love the history of cinema. I was looking for a book that would give me a background on the very first actresses (ie:females) that started it all ....(ie: the silent movie actresses). Well, I sure found it in this book!
I only wish the author would write a similar encyclopedia regarding the MALE silent film stars (ie: the actors) , because I'd buy that too!

This is an excellent miniature edition of Bach's Brandenburg Concerti. It has an interesting and informative preface, including a small list of variants from the MS. Moreover, the price is right, and while the print is extremely small, the engraving is very clear, making the edition easily readable. This is a very good deal.

Very nice..........2004-07-14
I, being a Bach fanatic, enjoy following along while listening to them on my stereo. Quite obviously, this book would be utterly useless to someone who cannot read music, but it is quite insightful for those who can. Although it is inadequate for performance (due to page turns, no separate parts, doesn't lie flat easily), it is very useful for just simply following along.
A Valuable Resource.......2001-12-30
I recall reading that when Messaien was captured by the Germans during World War II, one of the few musical references he had in the POW camp was a score to Bach's BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS. The POW camp, of course, was where Messaien wrote his masterpiece QUARTET FOR THE END OF TIME. Owning this score won't guarantee the production of further masterpieces, but it is a valuable source of information. This edition also includes the ORCHESTRAL SUITES, as well as a preface that details the discrepancies between various editions of these works.
Excellent to study or follow with; difficult to play from.......1998-05-12
As stated in the title, this book contains the complete score for all 6 Brandenburg Concerti and all 4 Orchestral Suites by Bach. Parts are not included nor are they available separately from Dover.
It is in modern notation with very clear, dark printing. It is a large-format (approx. 8 1/2 x 11) paperback book and is bound like most paperbacks.
As with all Dover Editions, it is very easy to read and follow the music, but it was not designed as a performing score. Because of the binding (it won't lie flat) and because no attention was given to page turns, it is very difficult to play from. But if you wish to study the music or follow the score while listening to your favorite recording, you can't beat this edition for the money.

This book is a MUST for your D&D collection. This book allows you to play druids that are specialized for swamps, jungles, deserts, polar, and forest climes; no single catch-all druid abilities. The kits are also wonderful and will be excellent sources for new 3e prestige classes. Want ideas for your druids in your campaign? This book gives it to you in spades. DEFINITELY go find this book.
A Worthwhile Purchase.......2001-05-15
Even if you've moved on to 3rd Edition D&D, this is an excellent purchase for those needing more info/ideas about druids. The book has several useful sections.
One is on branch portraits, so you can play a mountain, desert, arctic, underground, swamp, or jungle druid instead of a forest one. Then there is a section on 'kits,' specializations for druid characters.
A chapter on druidic society, organization, and philosophy can be useful in defining druid characters. What is especially nice is a collection of new spells and magic items which are appropriate for druid use. What is especially nice and an interesting twist is a section on herbal magic, if your character is interested in harvesting herbs and brewing potions.
The handbook also provides information about sacred groves and gives some plot outlines for druid-centered campaigns. This book increases the possibilities of playing druid characters tenfold.
If you play a druid character and would like some great supplementary information, try to get your hands on one of these.
Good for druid campains.... but only druid campains.......2000-08-27
This Book contains good information on playing druids, the single hardest class to roleplay(including paladins). It also has info on druid organization that the "Players Handbook" didn't have space for.
so why only 1 star? because it's so impossible to play a charactor with a true neutral alignment right if your fellow players aren't true neutral as well. Sooner or later your druids' allies will(inadvertantly)force you to change alignment, ending your charactors' career.
If you're a DM who wants to run an all-druid campain, get this book. otherwise, forget its existance.

This is definitely one of TSR's best works. The role of the Druid is broadened with this book. Very useful for those who like to play Druid's but get tired of the saem character over and over again.

A great book for the novice project manager.......2003-09-20
A great book for the novice project manager and a good refresher course for those of us who are already doing it. There's more to project management than just drawing Gantt charts. This book touches all aspects of project management, shows you how to deal with the people, politics and risks of the job. This book is probably the best of the lower priced project management books. My only complaint is that this book has 3 inches of margins, but I still think this book would be a bargain at twice the cost.
