Customer Reviews:
One of the BEST!!.......2004-06-29
I don't think that I can say anymore than whats alreasy been said about how ABSOLUTELY GREAT this book is.
It really is a great resource to own. It has everything from layout (which one is the best and which ones aren't), to resume, to interview information. It also encourages you to think out of the box a bit by showing you what everyone wlse os doing.
Once agian excellent resource for up-an-coming fashion designers/students and even those who have left and are returning to the fashion industry.
Excellent.......2003-08-11
A great book for more advanced Designers, show you different presentations of portfolio...Great but I wish that the pictures were in colors not in B&W.
~Did What I Needed It To Do~.......2003-03-11
I purchased this book to help me with my portfolio layout for acceptance to the Fashion Institute of Technology. Although I needed to follow FITs guidelines, I feel that I gained a lot of great knowledge and excellent ideas and inspiration by referencing this book before submitting my portfolio to FIT. I am proud to say that I was accepted and will now be referencing the book to put together my portfolio for interviews in the industry.
Take your designs to the next level.......2001-08-23
For someone who loves to sew and is looking on how to bring their designs to the next level, then this is the book for you. It chocked full of great tidbits and even provides several portfolio options for the novice beginner. For great inspiration, it features sketches from up and coming designers and the established guard before they were on the map. Great reference book for hard core design fashionistas!!
Excellent resource for creating professional presentations.......2000-09-10
This is an excellent book for anyone in the field of fashion or textile design who needs to make presentations to clients. Plenty of information on how to organize your thought processes as well as give your presentations impact. I would most certainly recommend this book to someone just starting out in the fashion industry. Even seasoned professionals could gain some new information on becoming more creative in their presentation of their product lines.
Book Description
Every aspect of fashion illustration is covered in this essential reference for the fashion student. It addresses not only the clothes, but deals with essentials that make the total look: faces and hairstyles, heads and hats, fashion details and a wide variety of materials.
Customer Reviews:
No use of colors.......2004-03-05
The book does not demonstrate how to use colors.
Book Description
Fashion illustration is an essential tool every would-be designer must master, and in this practical and enlightening book for artists of any ability, instructor Bethan Morris covers all aspects of the art form.
Beginning with Inspiration, the chapters in Fashion Illustrator are chock-full of vibrant illustrations and professional advice on subjects like sketching figures, understanding body proportion, and the different range of media available (drawing, collage, digital), presented along with useful case studies, practical exercises, even tips for putting together a professional-looking portfolio. Morris also includes profiles of influential fashion illustrators, who offer valuable insight into the industry.
Customer Reviews:
won`t teach you anything.......2006-10-13
This book tries to be about everything but it`s about nothing. Each part of the book is 5 pages long and only the part about illustrators is 50% of the book. Each illustrator answers same 8 questions and there is 1 of his drawing attached. Boring. For me waste of money.
Customer Reviews:
Fashion Artist (Fashion Design Series).......2007-09-26
I just started learning drawing fashion by following books. Fashion Artist is one of the books I use. I really liked it. It gives detailed instruction and I can see that I will be able to draw cool fashion figures in a few months.
Fashion Artist.......2007-09-25
Given to my granddaughter...perhaps to spark an interest in fashion design. She was pleased...as was I. It seemed to be fairly comprehensive yet easy to understand as I skimmed it before giving it as a gift.
Amazing Bang for the Buck.......2007-07-05
For years, I've sketched fashion/outfits, automobiles, and architecture simply as a hobby. Because of schedule conflicts, proper classes to develop skills have never been possible. Naturally, I began looking for a "text book" that would help me to improve my proportion and shading skills as I've had the most difficulty with "human subjects".
After numerous purchases of everything from how-to books to actual text books, I can confidently say that Fashion Artist by Sandra Burke is exactly what I needed it to be. With clear examples, step by step instructions and lists of required materials, this book takes what can seem to be an overwhelming situation (figuring out proper limb placement and size plus contouring) and breaks it down into engaging, easy to retain information.
As someone who appreciates all styles of illustration, I also enjoyed the variety of artwork used to showcase the amazing potential offered to a budding artist.
Some of the "problem areas" that this book covers are hands and feet, facial features, and fabric rendering.
Whether you're a fashion illustrator looking for a refresher, an artist wanting to expand, or simply someone who enjoys all things fashion, this book fits the bill. I highly recommend this book.
Excellent book especially for fashion students!.......2007-05-04
The fashion drawing techniques and illustrations in this book are excellent, plus it gets you up to speed quickly by focusing on key points. It is well laid out and can be followed step by step or dipped into wherever you feel you need some help with particular aspects of your fashion drawing or designing. The illustration styles are varied and inspiring - it covers fashion templates, flats and presentations for womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and even costume design!
The chapters on figure drawing techniques have some excellent advice and examples of poses, and those tricky things like faces, hands and feet. The chapters on layouts, presentions, mood & design boards, and getting a design portfolio together concentrate on the main points with examples of artwork from designers and illustrators in the fashion industry.
It is an excellent resource for those studying fashion or want to enter the fashion industry.
Terrific book.......2007-03-26
I bought this book for a teenager intent on becoming a fashion designer when she finishes school. The content, drawings, etc. are perfect for her. They not only teach her about the fashion industry, but also teach her how to draw and how to design. A must have for the would be fashion designer whatever the age.

Book Description
"Little hamsters big adventures!" is the tagline for Japan's most popular children's series. The little hamsters are Hamtaro and his pals, the Ham-Ham Gang; and in this first of a four-book series, the full color adventures take the gang and their "adopted" owner Laura in and out of all kinds of scrapes. Hamtaro is all too happy to help Laura and her family solve their problems but sometimes gets off track when it comes to problems of his own!
Customer Reviews:
Delightful Stories With a Little Bit of Education.......2006-12-21
This book contains some of the adventures of Hamtaro, a pet hamster, told from the point of view of the hamster himself. Hamtaro has a childlike curiousity that allows him to learn about the world around him, even though it sometimes gets him in trouble. As a bonus, readers also get hamster care tips and/or facts at the end of most of the stories.
Hamtaro Fans --- Find Out How it Started!.......2006-01-18
So it's been a long time since there's been any new "Hamtaro" and you're thirsting for something new. Here's an idea --- find out how it all started with this great storybook of adventures by the show creator.
"The Adventures of Hamtaro: A Home for Hamtaro and Other Stories" contains eleven great Hamtaro stories. For those who have enjoyed the TV show watching from somewhere other than Japan, but haven't had a chance to dive deeper into the fandom, this is essential reading. Even if you're a pretty big fan, you'll likely learn some things from this you didn't know before.
Wanna see Hamtaro's family tree? It's here. Wanna learn Laura's name in the original stories? Find that out too. You'll even find out some neat tips about to handle and care for real hamsters.
Hamtaro!.......2003-05-10
This is a cute picture book about a hamster named Hamtaro. He is a birthday present for a girl named Yukari. He learns about humans and about being a pet in a series of short stories. The pictures are adorable and the stories are fun. Hamtaro narrates the stories himself. There is also a little bit of information about real hamsters after every story. This is a good book for little kids and anyone who likes the Hamtaro TV show.

La gran mentira/The great lie.......2007-01-04
This is one of the worse books I have ever read. It is hard to believe this woman (the author) received a degree is journalism. She has no writting skills at all. The whole book is suposed to be based on an interview Luis Miguel gave her, but the book is actually written based in speculations and subjective opinions. She makes assumptions and later on such assumptions become "facts". The book is incoherent and repetitive. This can hardly be called a book, it is more an entertainment magazine article. It is written in that style and there is not enough material to "write a book". The font it is printed on is very large and there are a lot of pages with nothing but pictures. Even with that, the book is very short and, like I said before it repeats the same information and speculations over and over.
It is very understandable that Luis Miguel sued this author. It is a big lie, the worse part is that it is because of unethical reporters like this lady that Luis Miguel doesn't give interviews any more, and I don't blame him.
Zero stars.......2004-05-05
I don't know why I bought this book! I should have listened to Luis Miguel when he said the book was full of BS in a press conference. Honestly the book is full of speculations and outrigh lies I wouldn't recomended to anybody. This man has led a very interesting life there was no need for such lies.
A Great Book.......2000-10-07
This book is a great way to learn about the hiden secrets of this singer. It was fully of details about his life. I really enjoy reading it.

Pure Puzzling Pleasure.......2000-07-09
Always a fan of the late lamented Games Magazine, I sharpened my pencil and sat down for a long afternoon of mental enjoyment with Games Best Pencil Puzzles Volume 2. I was not disappointed. This book will keep me busy on and off for weeks. I especially like the Paint By Numbers section, which is a mental logic problem of multiple simultaneous equations that really captivated my mathematical mind. I also enjoyed the crossword puzzles. My only complaint is that some of the clues are somewhat dated; they refer to people and events that were current years ago. Now that I think about it, I guess I have another complaint; my husband keeps picking this book up and writing in it, in pen!
For an excellent variety of puzzles, from easy to difficult, from crosswords to cryptics to logic to wacky wordies, this is a great choice. I recommend it to all, particularly those people who loved Games magazine, as did I.

The enclosed CD-ROM provides all the sample files you'll need to work through the hands-on lessons. You'll also find multimedia walk-through files that demonstrate some of the more complex procedures. Customer Reviews:
Excellent!!!!!.......2003-08-02
This book is one of the best books written on Excel. I recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn or brush up on their excel skills. A must have in your collection if only to go back to every once in a while.
Invaluable Resource for Beginner to Intermediate Users.......2002-11-25
I ordered Microsoft Excel 2000: Step by Step to aid myslef in becoming more acclimated in the Excel platform. I have made spreadsheets and charts before using Excel 95 & 97, but it had been some time since I last employed Excel. Also, I never claimed to be the Excel Master that others profess to be. That's why I purchased this book - to not only make me proficient with Excel, but to bolster my abilities so that I will pass the Microsoft User Specialist Excel Master exam and become a Certified Excel Master and receive my pretty little certificate in the mail.
The 18 easy to follow chapters range from setting up a simple worksheet, integrating Microsoft Office data, distributing data online, sorting, filtering, & subtotaling data, as well as making amazing charts, graphs, and flowcharts that will be attention-getters and jump out at their audience. The extensive hands-on exercises utilize the copious amounts of example spreadsheets contained on the CD-ROM that allow you to move at your own pace while concurrently mastering Excel 2000.
You will learn Excel with this book.......2002-09-28
This book will get you up and running with using Excel in no time. From the sizes of other books out there, this book does not cover everything, but it is excellent for beginners of Excel. The book covers macros and explains VBA, which would be the next thing for you to learn if you want to unleash the power of Excel to a higher level. Some other notable topics covered are pivot tables and charts, and the book has many useful tips for getting things done quickly such as generating lists, picking from lists, and covers many other tips for reducing typing in data entry. Enjoy!
This book helped me understand all of it!.......1999-05-12
Excel 2000 has a ton of features, none of which I thought I would ever find. This book let me dig in at any level. I am only partially through it and have already learned so much.

Whether you're upgrading to Office 2000 or using the application suite for the first time, odds are that you'll need some help getting up to speed. Microsoft Press covers all of the bases with Microsoft Office 2000 8-in-1 Step by Step.
In trying to keep the needs of every user in mind, this book might intimidate the novice and yet go too slowly for the power user. In comprehensively touring the eight main programs in the Office package, it may be best suited to intermediate users.
Anywhere from two to five lessons on each application explain usage, including tutorials that show you how to design business cards or schedule meetings. As part of a training program, this would make for a pretty good reference book since each lesson ends with a table of quick explanations for performing the tasks you've just learned.
Microsoft Office 2000 8-in-1 Step by Step comes with a CD-ROM containing examples and multimedia walkthroughs for many of the lessons valuable to "hands-on" learners. Between the lessons, the diagrams, and the information in the book, you should be able to master Office with some patience and diligence. Of course, this is a Microsoft book, so if you're looking for bug reports or unofficial tips and tricks, you'll have to try elsewhere. But if a no-questions-asked tutorial and reference is good enough for you, there's nothing better. --Rob Lightner

Customer Reviews:
Microsoft Office 2000 8 in 1 Step by Step.......2007-01-04
The book is great and was shipped on time.
Big Disappointment.......2005-09-06
This one should be left on the writing room floor. Has some information in it but not nearly enough for the price.
Step By Step.......2001-12-11
I ordered the book and it came propmptly. More promptly than getting Office 2000 loaded on my machine. It looks a bit more simplistic than what I was looking for but it looks like a great book for someone just getting started.
Great initial investment pursuant to MOUS certification.......2000-12-12
My goal for 2001 is to obtain the MOUS certificate at the Master level. I have used MS products with the concentration of my experience centering on Word and Excel. I have used Access sporadically and with intermediate level performance. My experience with PowerPoint leaves much to be desired since I mainly use the wizards. My funds are limited so I wanted an all-inclusive reference (with CD Rom for practice) which would provide a basis for my study. I bought the book from another source (please forgive me oh mighty Amazon) and in terms of area concentration I would say it is intense concentration on beginning information, greater than average concentration on intermediate knowledge and average concentration on advanced applications. This is not a problem - I plan to buy books which center completely on each package as I master the foundation of each package. I would disagree with anyone who states that this is not for the advanced user, with constant upgrades and education there is no way anyone can ever retain each ounce of minutiae that can be acquired; this book is an excellent refresher. For the beginning or intermediate it is an excellent basis for further study.
A Good Introduction to Microsoft Office 2000.......2000-04-04
This book does a great job of explaining the basic concepts of all of the Microsoft Office programs. It also has good practice excerises. It does not, however, touch on any of the advanced or complicated features.
