Lots of good little treats for dad.......2004-01-04
This would be a very nice gift to receive from your children on father's day, especially if the statements on the coupons are executed. For example, one has the text, "This coupon entitles Dad to control of the TV remote for an evening." Proving once again that it is more than the thought that counts when you receive gifts on father's day. On the last page, there is a solicitation for ideas for coupons in future issues, so all you children need to think of other good things you can do for dad.
Very cute, You will love it.......2001-02-13
These coupons will make any dad happy. It is very cute and if you like jokes these coupons are for you.
Book Description
The World's Greatest Teacher is a true story about my dad. He was a very simple man. However, he taught me a lot about life by the way he lived daily. Over the years as he cared for his very ill wife and my mom, he chose to always put God first. Through his daily walks with God, he generated a sense of peace, love, and joy to anyone he came in contact with. I tapped into his teachings of life during his death and over the years after he left this earth. Today at forty-seven years of age, I continue to think about if a decision I am making would follow what he taught me."always treat others as you would like to be treated."
Customer Reviews:
almost a great tool.......2007-08-01
The text, as the previous reviewer writes, is excellent. I love the preliminary chapters for content and ability to communicate various concepts of fashion thinking. However, in the tutorials there are enough missing or unclear steps to frustrate someone attempting to learn new software. It would be helpful if the reader/user has previous familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop in order to work past these issues. Needless to say, the text components that integrate Illustrator and Photoshop tools are quite helpful and promote realistic ways to use the software applications together. I am pleased with the text, but do look forward to a second edition.
Fab!!! Worth the money.......2006-08-11
Very insightful, very useful, easy to understand. Totally worth the money.

A Work of Art.......1999-01-05
"For Better Or For Worse" is one of the greatest portraits of a family to ever grace the English language. This book is a wonderful look back at fifteen years of wit, warmth, sadness, and joy. In her work, Johnston doesn't flinch at telling us honestly how she views the world and her readers are all much the better for it. To read about the Pattersons is to read about life.
I love it more than any comic strip!.......1998-05-01
I love Lynn's work, because I, as a mother of three, can easily relate to it, and pretend that Ellie is me. My kids love it to, and often borrow it from me. For Better Or For Worse it a great strip for all ages.
See the best of 15 years of For Better or For Worse.......1997-05-02
For Better or For Worse is one of my favourite comic strips. I can't wait to read it every day on the World Wide Web when I get up in the morning.
This collection takes a look back at 15 years of one of the most-loved comic strips of all time, with commentary from Johnston herself. And some of her insights are very interesting.
If you're looking to laugh, cry and take a stroll down memory lane, take a copy of this book.

Great gift for cat "women".......2004-01-18
I don't think there was one lie in the book. While boyfriends may come and go, your kitty will be right beside you. It's not a long book but it's cute and good for a laugh. Your cat would never tell you that you look better in high heels, they love to hear you sing, don't tell you what to do and they would never, ever leave the toilet seat up. Now, which would you rather face - life without cats or life without men.
cuddle up with your cat!.......2001-01-21
This is a great book to cuddle up with your cat and enjoy. It's great for those people who don't always have a man by your side and need to be reminded that your cat loves you unconditionally. Don't think that this is putting down men, it's glorifying cats! This book has beautiful illustrations and is written very well. You'll laugh and cry. ENJOY!

Cats rule !.......2003-06-14
Men are ok but cats rule! Even male cats. This is a funny look at how and why cats have come to rule the hearts and minds of so many women. Very lighthearted and rather short but very entertaining. A nice little gift for the female cat lover.
Don't make me wear a collar - my cat's view!.......2000-04-08
My cats appreciate the fact that we don't make them wear collars. Come to think of it, I don't make my husband wear a wedding ring either. We all mutually trust eachother and live in harmony just happy to be on the planet together.
If you want your cats to look at you like you have gone mad as you laugh out loud at these funny feline ways - buy this book.
A world without cats is not one where I want to be!

In his poem "Ozymandias," Percy Bysshe Shelley imagined discovering a stone torso from millennia past and reading the (ironic) inscription, "Look on me, ye mighty, and dread." According to most of the writers in this probing collection of essays, each generation gets hooked on the utopian and dystopian visions of the future for the same reason--because they offer the chilling insight that our world is the fragments of futures to come. Since Georges Melies's Voyage to the Moon (1902), science fiction movies have speculated about what life in other places and times would be like. Under editor Annette Kuhn's direction, the contributors to Alien Zone 2 have taken it upon themselves to think out loud about how "space" works in sci-fi movies like Brazil, Blade Runner, Total Recall, Metropolis, and the Alien series. The way these films structure cities, conceptualize culture, and imagine psyches generally falls, it turns out, into a category that UCLA professor Vivian Sobchak calls "future noir," featuring terrifying visions of cities in which a faceless multinational power sits atop thrillingly disenfranchised lumps of humanity. Distressing as this scenario sounds, most of the writers take it as an opportunity to reinvigorate our sense of the possibilities of the present, whether political, aesthetic, or otherwise. Writing about race, women, cyborgs, or consumer-culture, they key in on the genius in these movies that has at once invented a three-dimensional world and performed a kind of radical keratotomy on our own vision of things. Some academic jargon in the collection may be off-putting, but razor-sharp insights are here in abundance. --Lyall Bush
Book Description
Science fiction cinema is too often left at the margins of serious critical film study. While a handful of films are the subject of general theoretical works, the genre as a whole, and especially its cinematic aspects, are neglected in favor of straightforward considerations of character and narrative. Alien Zone 2 redresses this imbalance by looking at the ways in which contemporary science fiction cinema transforms the themes and conventions of the genre itself. In many ways a companion volume to Alien Zone, it pursues theoretical issues opened up in the earlier book but also explores fresh territory with an eye that is both reflective and interventionist. Visionary cities, psycho-cybernetics, internet fandom, the convergence of science fiction literature and science fiction film, and bodybuilder stardom are all brought under its gaze.
Contributors: Will Brooker, Scott Bukatman, Catherine Constable, David Desser, Barry Keith Grant, Brooks Landon, Linda Mizejewski, Vivian Sobchack, Claudia Springer, Janet Staiger, Garrett Stewart.

Customer Reviews:
It was great.......1999-07-09
The book was great. There were a lot of beautiful pictures to look at. I love it. The only thing is that the author made quite few mistakes. In the Mexican soap one of the groups members was Sasha not Sacha. In the Mexican play he worked with Angelica Maria and her daughter Angelica Vale not the other way around.
A "NEED TO KNOW" book for TRUE Ricky Martin fans !.......1999-06-07
I bought the book as a birthday gift for my 11 year old daughter and I proofread it first to see what kind of celebrity she is looking up to. This book reveals that Ricky Martin is not a 'flash in the pan' star. He has an impressive history in the arts and seems to be ultra- talented as well as one nice guy. Our kids could use more idols like Ricky Martin these days.
IT WAS GREAT!!! I LOVED IT!!!.......1999-05-24
The book was sooo good!! I love Ricky Martin. He is so sexy and good looking! I loved the book because it tells all about Ricky and a LOT of great photos and things like that!
Customer Reviews:
This is a great book.......2005-04-28
This book although from second edition works nearly perfectly with third. This book goes over metahuman subtypes, shapeshifters, enemies, edges and flaws, and evan alternate campaighnes like Lone Star Doc Wagon and evan the military. This book is a must have but if you play the third edition make shure you get the third edition companion if it's available.
ehhhhhh.......1999-07-09
ever wondered just how to 'entice' your players to do away with roleplaying? here it is. inside this book, you too can learn how to no longer have a 'runner who pays moms bills' but, instead have a 'dependendant' as a 2 point flaw, which allows you to purchase the aptitude edge for your Light Machine Gun, 2 point edge. also included is a revision of the old 'sum to ten' character generation, a bunch of world of darkness ripoffs, and yet more alternate camapign ideas, for those of you who skipped 'missions'. While some of the sections on, 'personality' and 'friend of a friend' contacts seem custom made ofr shadowrun, the vast majority of the book feels like an excuse to allow for deadlier characters at generation with the illusion of personality tacked over them. I would have much rather seen information from the old OOP Shadowbeat revised and included in this book instead.
Not for 3rd Edition.......1999-04-14
Beware: If you're looking for the 3rd Edition version of the Shadowrun Companion, this is not it!
A must for every campaign.......1999-04-13
The Companion is the most useful sourcebook I own. It's full of new ideas and rules and a great point based character creation system. I felt that it clarified several things that SR2 left out. A must for the serious GM.
(Sigh) yet another sourcebook...But desparately needed........1998-10-14
As with any game, you need details. this book in my opinion is a vital part of the shadowrun universe. While one could incorporate "Uncouth" or "College Education" into a charicter background, this provides yet another way for starting chars to beef themselves up. The descriptions are funny, and the artwork is good. If you buy this book, get the Riggers 2.0 ...I just love the Gremlins Flaw.
Book Description
With unprecedented accessincluding personal interviews with Donald Trump himselfone of the nations leading business journalists reveals the good, the bad, and most of all, the ridiculous truth behind the public image of The Donald. Whatever anyone thinks of Donald Trump, the truth is far more complexand fascinating. Instead of society nightlife, most evenings hes at home watching TV and munching Oreos. He has a line of clothing and bottled water emblazoned with his image, yet he needed a loan from his siblings to stay afloat. His name is featured on some of the worlds most magnificent buildings and casinos, while a $1.8 billion debt hangs over his company. Hell use a friends cell phone to save money on a call. Hell call a journalist a total whack job on television, then turn around and invite him to fly down to Palm Beach on his private jet. These are the contradictions of Trumps world, and beneath the public faade, theres a man few people ever see. Now, New York Times business reporter Timothy L. OBrien pulls back the velvet curtain surrounding The Donaldwith access rarely granted to a reporter beforeand takes the polish off the image of Americas so called most popular billionaire.
Customer Reviews:
The essential reading companion to _The Art of the Deal_.......2007-09-14
I rate this book as 3½ stars.
After I heard Donald Trump was suing the publisher of this book for 5 BILLION dollars, I knew I just had to read it. Perhaps that was all part of Donald's plan, but I fell for it, and I'm glad I did.
I've been a big fan of Donald Trump ever since I just happened to stumble upon one of his books (I got it for free in a real estate seminar). I had a great appreciation of his business talents and, after reading what Donald had to say about himself instead of what the press had to say about him, I appreciated his attitude. This book changed that.
This book changed my opinion of Trump, but neither in a positive nor negative way. Surely, this book lays out a very convincing case for Donald's net worth or business prowess to be nothing near as much as he claims. But it also gives a dimension of personality which never really came through in his own works.
The stories covered and quotes are excellent - especially from Donald himself. He is TRULY a character. The author takes a balanced look at nearly all the major projects Donald mentioned in _The Art of the Deal_, and many of the details (and some not so detailed facts) are pertinent; the book also cites sources meticulously. Did you know Donald went over budget $50 million on The Plaza Hotel and had to be bailed out by his dad - what ever happened to television city - was it really smart to take on the city officials and say "this city is a cesspool of corruption and incompetence" while Donald was asking them for a ¾ billion dollar tax break?
Not that the look at Trump is really "bad". His personality really shines in this book. For a rich guy, he is really anti-establishment, a cheapskate, and is very personable. You get a real feel for what he's really like. After reading this book, maybe I wouldn't want to follow his business advice blindly, but I'm more likely to want to sit down and have a beer with the guy - he sounds fun. To say Trump is a BS artist is like declaring the sky is blue - I always knew his projects were spun with his own opinions, so it's good to see a different viewpoint on his familiar projects.
So why only 3½ stars? Because, despite the fact that the content of the story is great, the book is terribly written. For the author's sake, I hope there was a rush to publish because of the aforementioned lawsuit, because this has all of the organizational and journalistic talent of a high-school cheerleader writing a business memo. There's no organization, no structure, and bad jokes all over - luckily, the content of the book outweighs this otherwise unreadable mess.
Bottom line is that if you've enjoyed Trump's past books, reading this book will give you a non-spin version of his business deals - and really introduce you to the man himself.
Interesting perspective on Donald Trump.......2007-06-02
After listening to this audiobook, I have to say it's definitely an interesting perspective on Donald Trump. Timothy O'Brien is definitely what you would call a "Negative Nancy"...he focuses on the failures of more than the accomplishments of Donald Trump. But hey, the evening news in every major city does too, as they love covering the latest murders, rapes & child kidnappings - as that negative stuff gets press & makes money. That in turn creates a distortion of reality...or a negative warped view on reality...which is what this book is. As I said, I think Timothy O'Brien is doing the same thing here...he wants to just talk primarily about the negative aspects of Donald's career. If he was more of an objective reporter, he would focus on the good and bad things. No, I'm not a die hard Trump fan, before you ask. But I have researched him quite indepthly & read many books on him, and this one is definitely one of the worst. But I'm sure some people will love it because the 'average joe' enjoys hearing negative things about successful people. So have fun reading the book or listening to the audiobook if you like such garbage.
[Two and-a-half stars out of Four] Mr. O'Brien fails USFL, AFL & NFL 101(s)!.......2006-10-12
The book isn't bad but is mainly a rewrite
of the better (***.5 out of 5 star) "The
Art of the Deal", from 1987. O'Brien lauds
crimnals like the Rockefellers and mentions
AIDS infested ex-Commie-Hunter / Lawyer Roy
Cohn as being pals with The Donald. But he
really gets himself in a mess with his Non-
Pro Football (non)knowledge! Here are some
of his errors: (1) He claims the late Pete
Rozelle (nee Alvin H. Rosencranz) came into
the NFL right out of the (then) L.A. Rams
front office, which isn't true. He was a
Lawyer, like Cohn, who came to the NFL's
Commissioner's Office after a year as the
NFL's Legal Counsil (previous to that he
WAS the Rams G.M., et, al...). (2) He
claims that the old American Football Lea-
gue "played independently from the NFL
for six season". Actually, Timmy, it was
10 seasons (1960-69). When the AFL-NFL ag-
reed to merge in June 1966, they agreed to
start playing in Jan. '67 a post AFL & NFL
Pro Football Championship game called the
Super Bowl [this WAS after six years of
AFL play].(3) O'Brien says Doug Flutie
wasn't as dynamic as Joe Namath. That's
like comparing Coconuts to Pineapples;
what O'Brien could have said is that the
'85 USFL Generals weren't as good as the
1968-69 Jets, and ended it at that. Be-
sides, Flutie just retired as the last
ex-USFL player (unless Sean Landeta makes
another comeback!),after a 21-year Pro ca-
reer and Namath bearly lasted 13 season...
(4) O'Brien claims that even though the USFL
kicked the overrated NFL's keester in court,
the jury agreed that it was the USFL's poor
Management, et, al, and moving to the fall
that did the upstart United States Football
League in. Bull(bleep)! O'Brien has probably
never read the transcript of the court case
USFL V. NFL, which I have a copy of. The jury
found the NFL guilty ON ALL COUNTS of conspir-
ing to Monopolize ALL of Pro Football in North
America, not just the US. In fact, Pres. Ken-
nedy hauled Rozelle, a slimey crook in front
of Congress in 1962 and the arrogant khazar
even ADMITTED he was trying to MONOPOLIZE Pro
Football in the US THEN! (Of course it should
be noted that AFL Boston [now N.E.] Patriots
Owner Billy Sullivan was a close friend of
Joe Kennedy's family. Certainly JFK favored the
(then) upstart AFL...))And lastly, O'Brien says
that nobody wanted to give the USFL any TV cov-
erage if it moved to the Fall schedule. Once
again Bull(bleep)! The USFL had a contract in
perpetuity with the (then still new) ESPN! Tim-
othy O'Brien further lies when he says that
the USFL's talent level was far inferior to
the overrated, monied NFL. Let's see; the
USFL played a manly 18 game schedule (like the
better CFL does) compared to the NFL's wimpy
16 game schedule; The USFL drafted and signed
(and played!) three straight Heisman trophy
winning players. Compare the best NFL QBs of
the day; Dan Marino, Phil Simms, John Elway,
Joe Montana, Dave Krieg to the USFL starters
of Flutie [played 21 Pro seasons, 6 CFL MVPs,
five Grey Cups], Bobby Hebert, Jim Kelly [H-o-F],
Steve Young [H-o-F], Cliff Stoudt [played 15 Pro
seasons]and they are absolutely equal. In fact
Kelly is the only QB in NFL history to take his
team to four straight Super Bowls! Marino(1)
didn't do it, Elway (though 5 Super Bowls) didn't
do it, Simms (2 S.Bs) didn't do that, etc., etc.
Mr. O'Brien, you get a C++ on the trump stuff
which wasn't bad but you get an F+ on your Foot-
ball Non-Knowledge! Overall, C.
A Novel of Negativity.......2006-07-04
After reading (and thoroughly enjoying) Trump's own The Art of the Deal I went in search for more on the captivating man known as "The Donald." I leafed through the pages of TrumpNation and was excited to see a bit about Trump's personal life, so I bought it. Although the book was written by a professional writer, it was not as easy a read (i.e. entertaining) as The Art of the Deal. The author came across as full of himself as his claims of Trump being. I found it rather juvenile and boring that O'Brien often repeated phrases he obviously felt were clever throughout his book. On the whole, here was an author writing a book on a magical personality but completely failed to capture any of it. Instead, he overanalyzed the person behind the aura and seemed surprised to find, in fact, an actual person. Person or persona, O'Brien came off as envious of both. In my opinion, TrumpNation was a disservice to anyone that is a fan of Trump and therefore, the author should not be capitalizing off those who are. I will be returning my book for "spite."
Untold Trump.......2006-06-15
Those fans of Donald Trump's TV show The Apprentice might be
FIRED UP when you listen to author Timothy L. O'Brien's Trump
Nation: The Art of Being the Donald (three cds, three hours,
abridgement, Time Warner Audio books). O'Brien shows the under
belly of the real Donald, the Trump that is hidden for public
view or buried on page 57. It is stark and revealing, but its
all true. It is investigative journalism on audio at its best
