A Fleet of Boatnecks.......2007-08-20
If you like high necklines on your sweaters then this is the book for you. 7 of the 13 patterns have high boatnecks, 2 patterns are turtlenecks and 2 cardigan patterns have high necklines. There is a nice V-neck twin set pattern, however, the largest size for the shell is a FINISHED 37"!!! The final pattern is a beautifully cabled V-neck pullover. Be aware that the largest FINISHED size in 4 of these patterns is 37, 37, 38 and 39".
Beautiful classic sweaters.......2007-05-10
Unusual stitch combinations, lovely lightweight and labor intensive sweaters. I have not dared to start a single one for the amount of time I need to finish my favorites, but I love this book.
Definitely worth owning for me for the inspiration.
Feminine designs.......2006-08-15
The value of this book is the beautiful stitches Ms. Mccauley has selected for her designs. Many readers will need to utilize the design 'sloppers' included to alter the insructions for a wider size range.
OK, but not outstanding.......2006-08-02
The patterns in this book are nice, but not very original. Some are pretty, some are ugly. I'd recommend passing on this one.
Very impressive........2006-06-10
Very impressive work. I was especially enchanted by the fact that most of the designs were ones I could wear. Being more than a little on the large size, I find the line and bulk of sweaters an important factor in whether or not I can wear them. Almost all of these designs are ones I can wear and actually look well. Most of the sweaters feature vertical bands even in the cables. The back of the sweater featured on the cover of the book has a superbly slimming line. I am inspired; I might actually be able to knit this pattern and not look like a bus wearing it when it's finished!!! The poor boy sweater on p.27 is especially nice. Again the lines are vertical. The one piece construction means the sweater is easier to make. In my case, I would probably lengthen (rather than shorten as suggested) the sweater. I hate having my hips exposed; there's too much of them! The sweater illustrated on p. 42 shares the vertical format with the other patterns, but has a yoke and sleeve pattern that focuses the eye at the shoulders and bust rather than the waist, creating an illusion of height and length. A very attractive design for a larger woman. I am very pleased with this book.

Book Description
High-school mystery fan Shin'ichi Kudo is actually one of his high school's best minds, but he gets his reality checks from his childhood friend and almost-girlfriend Ran Mori. Nothing can keep Shin'ichi from a case, until he follows a suspicious man into a park, is accosted from behind and fed a strange chemical which renders him unconscious. When he awakens, he has been transformed into a puny grade schooler! The hapless boy finds a home with eccentric inventor Professor Agasa, who searches for a cure for his condition. While he's waiting to be restored to his adolescence, Shin'ichi takes on the name Conan Edogawa (borrowed from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the last name of the famous Japanese mystery writer Edogawa Ranpo). As Conan, he plays the part of the little brother that Ran never had, and helps her incompetent private-detective father solve all of the gruesome murder mysteries that come their way.

good book, iffy subject.......2003-04-29
This is a well written book that is far above the typical quickie celebrity bios that you buy in the grocery store. The only qualm I have, is the subject. George Clooney is still rather early in his career. He's handsome and has made good decisions in picking movie parts but this isn't Clark Gable or Gary Cooper. He still has a long way to go before deserving the legend treatment that he gets from this book. Still, if you love George buy this book as a treat to yourself.
Customer Reviews:
George Clooney: An Illustrated Story.......2000-06-27
If you are a George Clooney fan... George Clooney: An Illustrated Story is definitely the book for you! This contains many pictures of George, from the time he was just starting his career to the present with pictures from all of his movies. I was surprised to see photos of George that I had never seen before! You can read about George's early career, from his films and television pilots that flopped...to his successful and most well known character Dr. Douglas Ross on ER. This book is divided into chapters so you can easily find out specific George information. There are 9 chapters starting with "Child's Play." In this chapter you can learn all the basics about George and his family. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it!
Book Description
Bedside Manners is required reading for ER devotees, who will find a wealth of information here-from an inside look at ER and its creator, Michael Crichton, to a viewer's companion featuring detailed reviews of each and every episode of the show and a guide to its cast and characters. There's also a complete Internet guide to Clooney and ER, the "authoritative" ER Drinking Game, and a section of "Clooneyisms"-unusual quotes and bizarre anecdotes from Clooney and the characters he's portrayed. Keenleyside includes something for everyone in this funny, fact-filled, and indispensable book.
Customer Reviews:
Horrible.......2001-11-08
This book is very bad! I don't like to normally be so grim, but I will make an exception for this book.
Oh boy!.......2000-01-25
This book is a true ER and George Clooney masterpiece. The book ties in a biography of ER's greatest star and the show its self. I enjoyed this book from the begining to the end. This book is equiped with every thing a true ER fan could ask for. This is a no brainer. If you don't like this book, you don't like ER.
A GREAT book about Mr. Clooney!.......1999-11-16
This is a great book that should be owned by anybody who is a fan of George, Nick, or Rosemary Clooney. There are some great pictures in it, and a Commic-strip about ER.
This was a great book!.......1999-06-26
This book was great. George Clooney is absolutly great in every way. Read this book if you like George. Its worth the money.
This book is a waste of time........1999-02-12
This is a terrible book. The writter fills up space with drivel gained through People magazine articles and Hard Copy television shows. The book breathlessly meanders through George Clooneys life leaving the reader to think; "so what". The book is further padded with listings of web sites that have at least some connection with Clooney and synopisis' of "ER" shows. Not only did I waste my money buying this book, I wonder if I can sue the writter for the time I wasted reading this poor effort of a book.

For the first time Clooney fan........2000-01-25
Just in the past year I have become very interested in George Clooney and his life. This book is good for the first time Clooney fan. I went into this book knowing little about George. This book gives mostly facts, but they are great. In general I really loved the book, but it's major flaw is that the readers don't get to go under the skin of Mr. Clooney, to see what makes him tick. This is a good book if you are not a veteran George Clooney fan.
Best book ever printed......ever!.......2000-01-21
What an enjoyable read, I never put this book down, even when I went to work. More pictures would be the only thing I asked for. And any chance Georgey himself can deliver the next book in person. Cant wait, George is maturing very well, I think I'm in love, again.
I THINK GEORGE CLOONEY IS A DOLL........1999-03-08
I THINK THAT GEORGE CLOONEY SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT, ER
This book is good but could have more pictures.......1998-10-11
If you need more info on George read this book but if all you want to do is browse through some gorge piccies of him then don't by this book. There are only 6 pictures but they are nice.
THIS BOOK IS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......1998-08-12
This book give you basic facts, good if you're not familiar with HIM. There's a REALLY NICE color picture section!! Overall, this is a great book to pick up !!!

Book Description
He's famous for being named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, his penchant for practical jokes, and his vow never to remarry, as well as his Oscar-winning and Emmy-nominated acting career. But George Clooney's reputation as "the mayor of every movie set he's on" belies his essential seriousness, as a businessman and in his ascendancy to the Hollywood A-list. In George Clooney: The Last Great Movie Star, Kimberly Potts traces the star's life from the small-town boy to big-screen star. After spending a decade languishing in failed TV series, he slowly and deliberately built a resume that took him from TV stardom on ER to a winning film career as a serious actor, writer, producer and director. Along the way are his early attempts to break out into film (including his Batman movie flop),his many well-publicized romances, his political and humanitarian efforts, and his shrewdly developed formula for choosing smart blockbuster movie projects that he uses to finance his more personal passion projects, such as Syriana and good night, and good luck., finding success with both.

Book Description
Superb facsimile of priceless handwritten score in Pierpont Morgan Library in New York. Study Mozart’s original intentions, revisions, etc.—just as they flowed from his pen. An informative introduction by Alan Tyson, noted British musicologist, offers perceptive analysis of the manuscript and its distinguishing features. 121 black-and-white illus.
Customer Reviews:
Just a fetish for Mozart fans.......2004-11-12
The most important merit of this facsimile edition consists in supplying thousands of fans with a sample of Mozart handwriting at a low price. Why cannot musicologists benefit from this paperback? You are probably wondering whether scholars do not like cheap editions. Well, they do not when it is a matter of facsimiles, because no good facsimile is ever three-quarter-size nor is it black-and-white.
First of all Mozart, as many other composers, used to write down the principal parts, i.e. the solo part, the violins accompaniment, the bass line and occasional winds passages. Then, when the framework of the concerto was completed, he usually wrote the orchestration with a somewhat different, lighter or darker ink. Such a significant detail disappears in this black-and-white reproduction, although the aim of the publisher was to "study Mozart's original intentions, revisions, etc. - just as they flowed from his pen".
So, if you are looking for something more than Mozart mere handwriting, this book does not suit you. The introduction by Alan Tyson provides whoever has never seen before a Mozart autograph with helpful comments. Initiated readers may read his "Mozart: Studies of the Autograph Scores", Cambridge, Mass., Harvard University Press, 1987.
An excellent facsimile of a Mozart autograph.......1997-04-16
For those of us unable to view priceless Mozart autographs firsthand, Dover Publications presents a valuable facsimile of the autograph of the Piano Concerto in D, K. 537, preserved at the Pierpont-Morgan Library in New York. Special interest attaches to this work because of the large number of passages Mozart never filled in (perhaps because he improvised them?) in the piano part. An informative introduction by noted musicologist Alan Tyson enhances the value of this volume even further

All you need to know about Mozart works!.......1999-11-29
Alan Tyson is an author who contributed the major part after L.Koechel in understanding of Mozart's way of work and chronology. If you know at least 5 Mozart's works and you like Mozartkugeln then this book is a right choice for you. You won't regret!
A sheet of paper tells 1,000 stories in the hands of Tyson.......1997-02-17
One might assume that the study of watermarks on 18th century music paper and how its staves were ruled would be technical and boring. They aren't boring at all in the hands of Prof. Alan Tyson. Through painstaking analysis of the kinds of paper Mozart used, Tyson is able to do some fascinating detective work--including the redating of several works, and the finding that Mozart's Horn Concerto in D (K. 412) was not even completed by him, but was finished after his death by his pupil Suessmayr! Tyson also recovers some "lost" music from Mozart's opera "Cosi fan tutte" and the ending of the Rondo for Piano and Orchestra, K. 386.
These wonders are presented in writing that is sober enough to be credible, but is never dull. Anyone who loves Mozart's music will find a treasury of fascinating new finds and information in this book.

You can't find anything better if you're looking for information on the great Mr. Bojangles.
An American Original.......2000-06-01
"Mr. Bojangles: The Biography of Bill Robinson" not only serves as a crucial historical document, but also as a vivid portrait of a truly special man. An original in every sense of the word, Bill Robinson created a unique style of tap dancing, along with breaking the racist barriers of his time. This book superbly chronicles (with the help of first-hand source materials and interviews with people who knew him) the life of this incredible artist, entertainer, and humanitarian. You will not only learn what the world was like when Mr. Robinson struggled in his craft, but you will discover the values and convictions that drove him forward. You will be moved by the benevolence of this man's spirit--a spirit that could coin a phrase such as "Everything's Copasetic!" This is a touching and informative biography that informs the evolution of tap AND the human experience.

What do women want?" While Sigmund Freud may have most famously asked this question, it is a safe bet that he wasn't the first (or last) to puzzle over it. Surely the truth of a woman's life can best be found in its details. What keeps her up at night? What makes her laugh out loud? What frustrates her? Intrigues her? Inspires her? Fulfills her? To uncover these details and find out what makes woman tick, She Means Business draws in groundbreaking, never before published research conducted by the Time Inc. Womens Group of magazines. The thirteen diverse publications that make up the group, including best-selling titles like People, Parenting, Cooking Light, Essence, In Style, Teen People, Health, BabyTalk, Real Simple, People en Espanol, All You, Cottage Living, and Suede, reach over 45 million women a year. Customer Reviews:
Have to Read This Book If You Are Marketing to Women!.......2006-04-19
I love this book! I have yet to read a book that has connected so well with the reality of what is going on with women today. I love how it is organized around 7 trends in combination with statistics, quotes, graphics, and storytelling. The behavioral insights and even the biological references are great. It was really an easy book to read with fun graphics, deep insights, and a concise writing style. My copy is heavily highlighted throughout - tips, points of interest, and great quotes. Anyone in the business of marketing to women will benefit from reading this book. Or...anyone in the business of trying to understand women. I am actually going to give copies to my clients as giveaways.
