Superbly illustrated catalog of ancient Roman glass.......2007-02-23
Volumes I and II of this three-catalog series are absolutely superb references for Roman glass. All three catalogs are very well-illustrated, and each item is described in more detail than is typically seen in collection catalogs. Volume II has some of the more superior examples from the Corning Museum, whereas Volume I has some of the more basic forms that are cheap and readily available on the market. Volume III has some small-scale objects, like intaglios and gems, and random late acquisitions that didn't make the first two volumes; of the three, the last is arguably the least useful, albeit still a great reference to have. My only complaint would be that these books represent a sizable investment for a collector -- these are not starter references, but rather books to acquire for someone who already has an invested, developed interest in Roman glass.

Book Description
MERIDIAN is the story of Sephie, a sheltered young girl whose life resembles nothing so much as a fairy tale. The beloved only child of the Minister of Meridian, she grows up with an entire floating city as her playground. Then her father dies, and she inherits a sigil imbued with the power to create. So does her wicked Uncle Ilahn, except that his powers are bent on destruction and domination. Suddenly Sephie finds herself at the center of a power struggle, and quickly she learns that there is more than love in the world. Kidnapped to the world of Calador, Sephie's journey home to Meridian puts her in the path of many people good and bad that help her grow up and counter Ilahn's plans to take over her world.

For younger readers, slow-paceed but very good.......2005-08-13
This is CrossGen's girl comic (comic intended for girls), and it is closest to non violent comic for young readers.
You got intro in other reviews, and , although I am Sandman and Maxx fan, I must admit this is my fave CrossGen after Mystic. It is pity if nobody publishes Meridian comics which followed four published trades as trades five six and so...
Adventure.......2004-03-02
My friend has read it and she said it was really good. I have skimmed through it and look forward to reading it.When I first looked at the book I thought it was amazing. The illustrations are wonderful with their vibrant colors and their sharp details. It is really interesting because it is part comic book and part chapter book. I was excited because here you can get all four of them and in other places you can't. The cahracters are really cool because they each have their own style and personality. I like the names too like Sephie. The names of the places in the book are really cool too like Meridian and Carador. This book is enjoyed by a lot of people.
Great little read.......2003-07-25
This book is a great little read! Crossgen is doing wonders trying to bring new and old readers back to comics. The artwork and storytelling are both done fabulously. I've been looking for a comic that doesn't fit the traditional superhero mould but also has great artwork and story, it's arrived with Meridian.
CrossGen genius........2003-05-16
I know this can only be considered a book by very thin circumstances (ie it has a front and back cover and several pages in between) but it had to get some mention. I myself am not really a comicbook kind of guy. Yeah, I do have ambitions to someday have my own online comic but that's more to fuel my lust for being able to draw. I love to draw and someday I hope to draw well.
Anyway, I found this book while stocking the anime shelves up at Waldenbooks. I opened it up and was instantly impressed with the quality of the artwork. I took a look at it and said "Someday I want to draw like this!" So I bought it. What I found after I bought the book was an original setting fired up by quite a compelling story.
Now what really appealed to me is this isn't an action comic like we associate comics with. Yes, there are a few scenes with fighting in them but in general it's a very politico book which is right up my alley. I'm a sucker for politics. Not our politics but I love to read books in which the characters are driven by politics. I hate black and white circumstances and politics are never as such. They're always grey and that's what appeals to me.
All and all I give then book 4 out of 5 stars. Fantastic artwork, intriguing story, likeable characters. I could've gotten a 5 except I think the rushed the beginning too much. I would've liked to have gotten a little more background on some of the main characters and their ties to the other characters.
Worth a Read and not THAT cliched.......2003-03-25
This is the most hyped story of the entire CrossGen Universe.
I'll get the bad news out of the way first. At times, the pacing is a little slow, and the story is somewhat predictable. And there are other CrossGen titles that are a more enjoyable read than Meridian (Sojourn, Route 666, and Negation come to mind).
That being said, it's still a CrossGen book, and right now, very few companies are turning out such consistently great material. The artwork (which does have the feel of an animated Disney feature) is beautiful, and really brings the characters to life. And this story, like most all of the CrossGen stories, is character-driven, which is really what makes a story great. If you enjoy comics and you enjoy Disneyana, or if you just like plain old tales of Good Versus Evil, you will enjoy this series. The first volume is (obviously) a great jumping on point, so give it a read and see what you think.
And just to clarify the previous reviewer's point, there are definitely elements of this series that would remind one of the Disney movie Treasure Planet. However, we must keep in mind that this volume collects issues of a monthly comic that was realeased in 2000, well before Treasure Planet was released in theatres. So if anything, you could say Disney was "borrowing" from CrossGen in this case.

An Interview Of Definitley.......1998-08-24
I am a Big Oasis(There Best Band In The world!!!) anyways I have a lots of books.this Book is good for its pictures. It has Pictures from here famous gigs such as Main Road,Manchester and Knebowrth. Also Funny ones of the Band. One I love is Of a girl Selling Gallagher Eyebrows and Then Liam and Noel wearing them as mastshoues. another picture Has A big picture of all the alteritve shoots for there single cover "Cigrattes and Alchohl" but if you Lookin for info I'd say go get Getting High and Take me there. CHEERS
Poor photographs, poor writing, great design & layout.......1998-07-04
There have been times when I have wanted to find out more about a pop star. This is certainly not true of Oasis, but I wanted to know a bit, so I picked this up from a dollar store. It is not only boring and poorly written, it makes me hate the band even more. They are so morally reprehensible, with all this "look how working class we are" and "we're tough" crap, I think people in the UK have forgotten that the strength of British music is in innovation. This band, this book is crap. Hopefully with the death of the music industry, this band will die too. Nice layout though.
THEY ARE THE BEST BAND EVER! EXCELLENT PICTURES.......1998-03-19
THE BOOK WAS REALLY GOOD AND SHOWS THAT OASIS ARE REAL PEOLPLE AND THEY ARE GREAT HUMAN BEINGS. OASIS IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED AND THE REST OF THE WORLD SHOULD BE THANKING THEM INSTED OF PUTTING THEM DOWN CAUSE OF A FEW MISTAKES.ROCK ON!!!!!
The pictures of the worlds biggest band!.......1998-01-11
This book goes through tours of the worlds biggest band and shows how and what they have to endure while touring. The pictures are excellent and very funny, it shows a side of Oasis you would rarely see. Chris Welch Vancouver BC Canada
Best Oasis book ever published! A great photo documentary..........1997-12-27
This book is an excellent collection of photos, quotes, and a short Bio on the biggest band in Britain- Oasis. The photos are all excelent, most candid, and truly capture the essance of Oasis' music and members on film. Liam (singer) and Noel (guitarist) Gallagher, the brothers who lead the band to stardom, are portrayed as their true selves, not like other books and photos who glamorize the band and its elements. This is a wonderful book for Oasis fans everywhere to enjoy and keep in their hearts.

Simple, informative, and useful.......2000-05-24
Being a neophyte to the train world, I picked up this book to learn the different models of locomotives I would hear rumbling through my town.
Not only does the book teach you the tricks of the trade for recognizing different manufacturers and their models, it presents line drawings to highlight the distinguishing features of each type of locomotive.
execellent!.......1999-10-11
A fine companion to the volume on the older Diesels. Lots of pictures, good information. Comprehensive and easy to read.
Book Description
From the bestselling author of Financial Peace, this companion volume to More Than Enough is a step-by-step guide to building wealth while strengthening your marriage and family.
In Financial Peace, Dave Ramsey showed readers how to get out of debt. Now he uses the same blend of down-home wisdom and straight talk to take readers to the next step: building wealth. But success means more than money--it means having a happy marriage and family. In How to Have More Than Enough, Dave Ramsey guides readers down the path to true success.
Rather than gimmicks or quick fixes, Ramsey's method for achieving financial and familial stability focuses on ten traits essential to creating prosperity, teaching children about money, living debt-free, and achieving marital bliss when it comes to finances. His easy-to-follow workbook illustrates each of these traits and allows readers to frequently assess their progress and honestly evaluate their situation. How to Have More Than Enough offers readers and their spouses the chance to work toward building wealth and strengthening their families.
Customer Reviews:
exceptional book.......2006-11-03
Consumer debt has long been a problem of most americans. The writer is very explicit about those things which cause us to go into consumer debt.
One of the things he addresses is greed, not having the patience to wait
for the money in our hand to purchase items. I am a baby boomer and our generation has been known to want things microwave quick. This book addresses the dangers and pitfallsof that thinking. It will set you free from stinking thinking!
How to Have More than Enough : A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Abundance .......2006-02-25
********wonderful*******
Especially appropriate for Christian families.......2004-11-10
I very much appreciate Dave Ramsey's putting financial matters in the context of virtuous behavior. This is not just a "get out of debt" book or a "make real money" book. It is a book that reminds its readers how many of us stray from fiscal health, suckered in by the 'race to get ahead and then fall behind' values common to the vast majority of Americans - materialism, status, name brands, immediate gratification, antagonism, impermanence, gluttony, lack of responsibility, even lack of contentment. Ramsey knows all too well that when it comes to fiscal restraint and good money habits, this is not a virtuous society. He recommends solid values to counteract the mainstream of American life - patience, delayed gratification, humility, cooperation, peace, communication, contentment and, of course, paying CASH. I wholly applaud this philosophy.
But, merely as a qualifier, I do want to let the prospective reader know that Mr. Ramsey's work is not secular. Bible passages, a Christian perspective and religious messages (such as suggesting prayer and counsel with clergy) set the tone much of the way, and the book is geared (not entirely but mostly) toward traditional and fairly conventional nuclear families.
As a more daring and thorough departure from those seemingly ubiquitous American go-getter values that lure so many into dire straits (such as 'the more you buy the more you save'), I can heartily recommend the popular classic "Your Money or Your Life."
ABSOLUTE MUST READ!.......2000-10-05
This book is extremely benefial to read. Its easy reading joyfully guides you how to build a good foundation for success, personal wealth, and good family relationships. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
