Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description
This richly illustrated work provides a new and deeper perspective on the interaction of visual representation and classical culture from the fifth century B.C. to the fourth century A.D. Drawing on a variety of source materials such as Graeco-Roman literature, historiography, and philosophy, in addition to artistic renderings, Paul Zanker forges the first comprehensive history of the visual representation of Greek and Roman intellectuals. He takes the reader from the earliest visual images of Socrates and Plato to the figures of Christ, the Apostles, and contemporaneous pagan and civic dignitaries.
Through his interpretations of postures, gestures, facial expressions, and stylistic changes of particular set pieces, we come to know these great poets and philosophers through all of their various personas--the prophetic wise man, the virtuous democratic citizen, or the self-absorbed bon vivant. Zanker's analysis of how the iconography of influential thinkers and writers changed demonstrates the rise and fall of trends and the movement of schools of thought and belief, each successively embodying the most valued characteristics of the period and culture.

Essential but not without faults.......2000-05-07
Scholarly books about Guatemalan textiles are scarce. Therefore, this is an important contribution; it is not without flaws. Maya Culture & Costume documents an important collection of Guatemalan textiles, the collection of the Taylor Museum, collected during the late 1920's and early 1930's by E.B. Ricketson, archaelogist and ethnographer. Photographs of the pieces from the Taylor collection are supplemented by and compared to pieces from other collections. Because the Ricketson pieces were collected during such a narrow range of time, the pieces can be dated accurately to stem from 1934 or earlier. Many pieces in other collections cannot be so accurately dated. This is clearly a strength of the the collection and the book. Anyone seriously interested in Guatemalan textiles should be familiar with this book. However, more color plates would have been helpful, and some pictures are too small to be useful.

Customer Reviews:
My kind of comic book.......2007-04-18
I've never been one for reading comic books. But when I saw this one I just had to buy it. I have personally met the man who wrote it. He is a very funny guy. I've seen him perform live twice and he will have your ribs aching by the end of the show. If you're still one of those people who believe that it's a sin to smile or laugh while you're at a Goth club, if Voltaire is there you just can't help it. This is one sin that you will be guilty of.
This is a very good graphic novel. He has a new Deady graphic novel coming out soon and I plan on getting that one too.
The grooviest teddy bear you'll ever find........2006-03-08
Voltaire isn't just creator of comic Oh My Goth!, author of books such as Paint it Black: A Guide to Gothic Homemaking, and a musician with black hair who happens to be the wet dream of goths all over the world.
He's also the creator of Deady the Evil Teddy; a cute little teddy bear that has become possessed by the greatest evil this galaxy of ours has to offer: Urkor Malravenus from planet Necronus, who stranded on Earth in the disguise of this cute little teddy decides to wreak havoc on mankind.
The Book of Deady consists of the three first Deady comics, and I guess the best way to describe it is to name it an orgy of laughter. But it's not just funny, it's satirical too, and things such as Hellraiser, Star Wars, The Crow, and more are all featured in one way or another in the adventures of Deady. The satire is uncompromising yet never disrespectful, and Voltaire sure knows how to twist and turn things.
For example, every fan of the Hellraiser mythology will laugh him or herself stupid at "Deady in Hellrazor", a story that itself justifies the purchase of this volume, about Deady and his meeting with the Stenobites, led by Paperclip Head and his colleagues Keyboard Mouth and Post-It Face, at a sci-fi convention. If you know your Hellraiser you'll probably pass out from laughter - as I almost did - when you discover Post-It Face trying to be menacing by saying: "We have such power-point presentations to show you..."
Clive Barker, the creator of the Hellraiser saga, obviously don't mind the whole thing, since he's one of the contributors to the volume. But Barker isn't the only contributor though, and the long list of other contributors will hopefully give The Book of Deady all the attention it deserves.
But as with most other comic anthologies, not every single part of it is equally good, but the great majority of the content turns out to be masterpieces of comedy and satire.
So what are you waiting for? Go get it immediately or Deady might show up in your home, barbequing your kitten and seducing your sister...
Book Description
In the last two years pop superstar Britney Spears has gone from America's Sweetheart to America's favorite train wreck. While she has sold over 70 million albums and has her own #1 selling perfume, her smoking, drinking, Cheeto-eating, barefoot-in-public-restrooms lifestyle that has been immortalized by the tabloids has far outshone her career. Shortly after her sudden marriage to Kevin Federline, a former pizza delivery boy and unemployed back-up dancer, she announced a reality series-consisting of the couples' embarrassingly personal home videos-and her pregnancy. There is only thing that fascinates Americans more than a former Mouseketeer's downward spiral and that is a pregnant former Mouseketeer's downward spiral.
Britney's Baby Book, a hilarious parody of what the baby book for Britney and Kevin's buddle of joy would look like, is created with this image in mind. Each page contains handwritten reminiscences on the couple's relationship, the pregnancy, special moments, and their hopes and dreams for their new addition. Complete with drawings, doodles, keepsakes, and photos, this book perfectly lampoons the image of the couple America can't get enough of.

Charming book, read by the author!.......1999-07-07
This is an utterly charming book on tape. It consists of a compilation of memories of Dirk Bogarde's childhood, which was spent with his younger sister and nanny in a lovely English village. The worries and concerns as well as the joys of this small boy are captured in this delightful memoir. Alas, I finished listening to the last tape on the day Dirk Bogarde died. What a lovely gift he has given us; his memories and his reading of this tape.

A 'realistic' style of Supers gaming - read, pretty deadly. Fits well with Wild Cards, wihch they did a supplement for.
Fine Superhero roleplaying. THIS BOOK CANNOT BE IGNORED!!!.......1999-07-22
If you're watching those "Superman" cartoons on a daily basis, you may enjoy this greatly. But if you're recording them, like me, this is a must have. "Supers" is an indespensible book to have at your side during any Gurps campaign, PERIOD. But if you're into superhero rpg's of any kind, i.e. "Champions" or anything based on an existing comic book company's universe, you may very well hear yourself let out a sigh of relief. This game allows thorough freedom/creativity/POWERS!!! you name it, it's got it. Including a great deal of oddly appealing pre-made super powered characters. Ever wish that "Captain Laser" could battle Cthulu in space? Me neither, but it certainly is something to think about. I give this book all the stars in the world. 5, I suppose. See also other GURPS titles.

A supplement for organised superheroing in the GURPS world, detailing the politics, setup and personnel of an international agency dealing with superhumans.
The Most Awesome GURPS book.......1999-07-16
GURPS International Super Teams is a superheroic roleplaying world that doesn't fail to take into account--unlike too many others--the fact that if metahumans existed, they'd be studied to improve the lot of all mankind. I like this book...so much, in fact, that if I could move to IST Earth, I would.
A "realistic" look at the super hero in the real world........1998-10-01
GURPS I.S.T does something few games have tried, put a realistic spin on what super powered beings would do to the world at large. Most games revolve around a "heros fight villians, villians lose, villians escape, villians fight again, nothing changes in the world at large" mileu. Not so GURPS I.S.T. The supers in this world cause lasting changes and have altered history, which is why I can't recommend this sourcebook enough. While I personally do not like GURPS at the Supers level (the system tends to go a little weird after a certain point) it makes a great source book for any Super Hero role playing campaign.
Customer Reviews:
Imaginative and fun but flawed.......2007-09-18
This is a well written book that covers super powers in great depth. It does have problems relating to other point based systems in GURPS such as racial abilities, normal advantages, and so forth. In addition, you can forget about creating characters like the Green Lantern or Quicksilver... those abilities just are not in the game.
The sample setting is a lot of fun, an alternate Earth where super-powers reign and super-teams support the benevolence of a powerful United Nations. Unfortunately, it is marred by characters that delve into thoughtless or even insulting stereotypes: Flamin' Jane (hot, lecherous lawyer with red hair), Black Pearl (Aquaman, only black and female), Pouka (Scottish), Argurous Astraph (Greek who throws thunderbolts), Mount Fuji (you get the idea), a Russian who is depressed and alcoholic, a dwarf with dwarf star powers, Rebel Yell (Southern bigot), and so forth. Whether a deliberate homage to tasteless 70s style exploitation and gag characters, or simply stereotyping gone awry, I just cannot fathom how these characters saw print in this form.
Supers.......2007-01-11
Of all the superhero RPG's on the market, this is one of the best. Thanks to the flexibility of the GURPS system, you have more options than you do with many of the other games. The only other super hero game that I have found which surpasses this one is HERO, but its complexity tends to steal from its playability, so I still prefer this one.
Also, because it is GURPS, you are free to put your heroes into other settings. Combining world settings is one of the most fun aspects of the game. Combine GURPS Supers with GURPS Space and now you can have your four-color costume heroes battling it out with enemy battle cruisers. Sounds fun, doesn't it?
Close to perfect!.......2001-04-25
As a long time RPG gamer and a long time comic book freak, this game really came as a life-saver to me. My GURPS group figured out how to work Supers into EVERYHING we did. The powers, modifiers, advantages, and disadvantages all work together to make nearly limitless possibilities. Do you want a telepathic, death-crazed, cybernetic monkey who can create clouds of foul smelling, poison gas? Or a night-stalking, brooding, anti-hero with blades a-plenty springing from every orifice? GURPS Supers will do it. Any hero you can imagine can be built with this system.
The only thing that kept me from giving it a five-star rating is that it is very rules-heavy. Normally, I like that... but it is hard to create the full, off-the-wall, goofy flavor of the Jack Kirby/ Stan Lee comic books when you're constantly trying to remember that you only do 38% damage in a full moon... say, how do we keep track of moon-phases anyway?
Other than that one complaint, GURPS Supers has been a terrific addition to our gaming group.

International Super Teams are us.
This gives you the basics for a setting for a super powered game in the GURPS system. Now, GURPS is a bit brutal for your four colour type superhero adventures, so keep that in mind when you use it. You are thinking Wildstorm or that sort of thing here, really.

Book.......2005-09-25
The book was in good condition but it was not a hard cover book as the ad said.
Principles of Marketing, 10th Edition.......2005-02-24
There is a lengthy discussion, over many chapters, of putting together a marketing strategy. Given space constraints, the issues are well treated. The treatment of pricing strategies may not be as in-depth as one in a text on finance or accounting. But there is enough detail here to be understandable and useful if your background is marketing.
Unsurprisingly, he gives a good discussion of marketing on a global scale.
Over all, Discussion is too lengthy but authors are good and their approach is reasonable as well. Authors approach situation to convince readers with appropriate theory and examples.
- Good book but it requires lot of patience to go through it.
Covers a lot of ground.......2004-08-04
A timely update of Kotler's long running and successful book.
There is a lengthy discussion, over many chapters, of putting together a marketing strategy. Given space constraints, the issues are well treated. The treatment of pricing strategies may not be as indepth as one in a text on finance or accounting. But there is enough detail here to be understandable and useful if your background is marketing.
Unsurprisingly, he gives a good discussion of marketing on a global scale. Increasingly cheaper communications costs, especially of course email and browsers, makes a global campaign affordable, even for mid range companies.
With the huge US corporate scandals of 2002 and ongoing (Adelphia, Enron, WorldCom...), Kotler provides topical advice on social responsibility of a corporation, and of the importance of marketing ethics.
