Note: For Mac users only. But then again, most of the people wanting to do things like edit movies are using a Mac already.
Final Cut Pro HD, is the latest version of the Final Cut program. HD stands for High Definition, and this version is indeed capable of editing HD video. But like with a lot of other software packages, the basic tools that you will use every day form the basics of the package, and they can be learned in a short time. Then as you reach points where you want to do more you can go back to the book to catch up on each point as you need it.
Final Cut is suitable for editing the movies showing you new baby, or if you really want to you can use it to get just about as sophisticated as you need for that feature length film you are making with your A-List actor friends. As with all the For Dummies books, this book isn't really for dumb people, it is for people that are just un trained on this particular package. It's a good book.

There had been continuity strips, and even strong elements of adventure, before Hal Foster started drawing comic strips, but approximately 35 years after the birth of the artform, it was Foster who introduced illustrative techniques—and the sensibilities and standards of such illustrative greats as Howard Pyle—to the comics page. Realistic depictions and sophisticated compositions had been curiously absent before him. He is still considered, 20 years after his death, to be comics' supreme classicist, and the strip continues to live on in over 100 newspapers across America.
Fantagraphics' deluxe, full-color editions of Prince Valiant run chronologically, and Volume 46 features the years 1976 and 1977, reprinting some of the last strips written and roughed-out by Foster (who passed away in 1982). The strips are finished by Foster's prodigious assistant, John Cullen Murphy, who had been quietly assisting Foster for several years and actively took over the bulk of the drawing chores in 1971, immediately developing a fan following himself—initial plans to end the series around 1971 were changed due to overwhelming fan demand, and there are no plans to end the series now. Each volume in the series presents close to a year's worth of strips per volume in an oversized format showcasing the strip's spectacular color pages.

I bought this book as a gift to impress the receiver. To my shock, the receiver told me the book was very nice indeed but it contained only the first half of the book. I did not see anywhere where we are told about this being only half of the book unless you include the Library Journal description.

I love to read and have begun reading many classics. My teacher recommended "Little Women" for me to read. So, I went off and bought it at the bookstore. In this edition you read an introductin first which I thought was a bit boring and long. It tells about the back round of the author and how this book was made. This story is broken up into two parts. The story starts out with four girls- Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. Their father is away at war. The first part of the story was too drawn out I thought. There is a description for everything. I did however enjoy reading it. The second part had a lot of action. There are weddings and births, and sadly even a death. It was more paced then the first part. I think Jo had the best character. She was so realistic. All in all, I thought this story was pretty good and I am not disappointed in it. I am very happy I read it. I know it is a classic and I do understand why.

Best Bible For Little Girls.......2004-11-13
This is a WONDERFUL bible for little girls! The reason some of the stories are "barely identifiable" as one reviewer said is because many of the stories the author uses are not the most well-known ones. I find this very helpful, as I can read stories to my daughters that they can understand but that aren't found in other bible storybooks. At the end of each story is a short devotional on "becoming a woman of God." These are wonderful! Easy for my little girls to understand, to help guide them in God's paths even while they're still very young. Afterwards is one scripture reference. I use that to lead the three of us in prayer. All in all, the book is a nice guide to lead you in daily devotions with your daughter(s). It is not at all watered down and is very accurate (I have compared many of the stories with the actual bible versions and these are as accurate as possible when written for children.) I plan to purchase all of the books in this series. I feel that God has used Carolyn Larsen to help get his message across to our children.

I do not care for this book. The stories are so heavily retold that they are almost unrecognizable. By always using the point of view of one of the female characters, the stories lose focus. The story of the crucifixion/resurrection is a particularly eggregious example of this. Choose another Bible storybook.

Best of an Indeterminate Breed.......2006-07-16
I have assigned this book to my graduate students in a Staffing class. I would not have assigned it if I did not think it was a good book.
However, I find myself telling them a few cautionary things:
1. Two weeks after the book came out, it was out of date. This field is moving very, very quickly and keeping up is a real chore...
2. The author is breathless and shameless in self-promotion. His writing style will remind you of why the dot-com bubble burst.
3. Many assertions are not backed up with organized study or proof.
4. It's still the best book I know of to cover this topic, unfortunately. If anybody out there knows of a better or more contemporary one, please post a review here...

"Recruiting on the Web" is a book that should be in all small and medium size businesses Human Resources or Recruiting departments. The book should be chained to the HRIS department network manager's desk. Also recruiter and HR staff will find the techniques and the mythology outlined within the book very value. Especially if their company is conducting talent acquisition the way it was done in the 20th Century. New technology in recruiting requires new methods of talent sourcing. The active and passives candidate can be found easy today if all of the old methods are improved with today's fast paced technology and updated searching techniques. Please follow as much of the Web recruiting techniques as possible.

This is a great, well organized book. It takes you through e-recruitment top to bottom, from setting up an online employee network, to building your Website, working with job boards, and then to Flipping and X-raying sites to find passiove candidates.
I've been a recruiter and manager since 1994 and have been through every Web-recruiting class and book ever offered. AIRS was the first (I went through AIRS I and II in 1998) and is still by far the best training in this field. I read this book when it was published last year and have just purchased a dozen more for new recruiters we plan to hire soon. It is the most systematic, comprehensive "how to" guide for e-recruiting I've found.

Sorry everyone but I have been recruiting for over 8 years and this book is literally NOTHING NEW!!!! Please save your money on the training and the book. SORRY! You would be better off investing in a years worth of service from a company that has a really good search engine that really does about the same thing. Plus, now adays you can't get into the sites like you used to anyway so 1/2 of this stuff is totally out dated! I feel totally ripped off. If you know just the basics of the web you can still figure the stuff out in this book on your own on some free recruiting sites.
