Lessons from nature s way illuminate timeless principles in each of the following chapters: Teamwork, Patience, Unity through uniqueness, Curiosity, Attitude, Failure, Communication, Perseverance, Strategy, Play, Death and survival, Loyalty and Change. This book reveals fundamental truths through unique stories that are not only fun to read but also serve as powerful metaphors for the human spirit through wolf tales and metaphors. The strength of the wolf pack, like any working group, lies in each member's ability to play a special role in harmony with the rest of the organization. The Wisdom of Wolves: Nature's Way to Organizational Success explains some of the crucial elements of any successful business or organization, such as teamwork, communication, perseverance and attitude.Customer Reviews:
Management Ideas .......2007-01-21
if only we were like wolves..........2002-10-17
The Wisdom of Wolves, is Towery's theory of natures way to organizational success. He does it well. THe book is broken up into roughly 20 short chapters. Some chapters are Patience, Failure, Strategy, Play, Loyalty, and Communication. By using the wolf as a metaphor for our lives and organizational behaviour, you and I will not only learn valuable principles but also have a great time in the process. The lessons of the wolf pack visually demonstrate a management philosophy that every organization should want to foster among its members.
I was inspired and really did for the first time, look upon the wolf as more than just someone who red riding hood met. Enjoy the read - it really is a classic!
not just any old management book... a lot of uniqueness here.......2002-10-15
We are faced with some 20 chapters, but each chapter is about 2 pages each. But then again, that is all that is needed I think. Patience, Curiosty, Strategy, Loyalty, Teamwork and Attitude, are just some of the topics Towery is addressing. Nice general topics of management, and organizational success - that will help you out if you are looking for an introduction to it all.
By using the wolf as a metaphor for our lives, and organizational behaviour, people not only learn valuable principles, but also have a great time in the process. The lessons of the wolf pack visually demonstrate a management philosophy that an organization should want to foster among its members.
I loved it! Happy Reading!
Great team building insights.......2002-10-11
Better think again.
May be we are too intelligent, or may be we just think we do or we just think too much...
From the author Twyman L. Ph.D. Towery's years of study, there's a lot actually we can learn back from the wolves of how to live and work together more in harmony.
Especially when we apply the insights to the business world. The wisdom of wolves will definitely serve as an extremely useful guide.
The book is written in a very simple format and it's really interesting and easy to read. But the impression it leaves behind for sure will stay forever.
Outstanding guide for personal and professional growth.......1998-08-16

The Eustace Diamonds (Penguin Classics)

ASIN: 0141441208 |
Book Description
The third novel in Trollope's Palliser series, The Eustace Diamonds bears all the hallmarks of his later works, blending dark cynicism with humor and a keen perception of human nature. Following the death of her husband, Sir Florian, beautiful Lizzie Eustace mysteriously comes into possession of a hugely expensive diamond necklace. She maintains it was a gift from her husband, but the Eustace lawyers insist she give it up, and while her cousin Frank takes her side, her new lover, Lord Fawn, declares that he will only marry her if the necklace is surrendered. As gossip and scandal intensify, Lizzie's truthfulness is thrown into doubt, and, in her desire to keep the jewels, she is driven to increasingly desperate acts.Download Description
The Eustace Diamonds is a novel by Anthony Trollope, first published in 1871 as a serial in the Fortnightly Review. It is the third in The Pallisers series of novels. In this novel, the characters of Plantagenet Palliser and his wife, Lady Glencora, are in the background. The central plot concerns Lizzie Greystock, a fortune-hunter who marries Sir Florian Eustace and is soon left a wealthy widow. The diamonds of the book's title are a necklace, a Eustace family heirloom. Lizzie attempts to hold on to them, while searching for another suitable husband. After falling out with a potential suitor, Lord Fawn, over the diamonds, she marries the disreputable Mr Emilius, a foreign clergyman who is already married. Her hopes of retaining the Eustace diamonds are eventually dashed. Please Note: This book has been reformatted to be easy to read in true text, not scanned images that can sometimes be difficult to decipher. The Microsoft eBook has a contents page linked to the chapter headings for easy navigation. The Adobe eBook has bookmarks at chapter headings and is printable up to two full copies per year. Both versions are text searchable.Customer Reviews:
She Loves the Diamonds and Is Determined to Have Them: Still Amusing and Incisive.......2006-01-11
Everyone knows a Lady Eustace.......2004-05-11
This novel is a battle of wills...a woman and her enemies. You don't have to like her, but you must admit she's on a higher playing field than everyone else...and she should at least get credit for her effort and her cleverness! Everyone knows a woman like Lady Eustace and hopes she gets what she deserves. This book will show you if she does. It's very long, but the political plots that are a part of the other books in this series are left out and make for an entertaining, can't-put-it-down read.
Read it IF you want full coverage of the Palliser Novels.......2003-07-03
Enjoyable, attention-grabbing, BEST READ!!.......2002-07-31
Perfectly perfect and stunningly constructed.......2002-07-21
"It was admitted by all her friends, and also by her enemies--who were in truth the more numerous and active body of the two--that Lizzie Greystock had done very well with herself." The second sentence further clarifies Lizzie's character when it goes on with, "We will tell the story of Lizzie Greystock from the beginning, but we will not dwell over it at great length, as we might do if we loved her."
Lizzie Greystock--eventually to become Lady Eustace--is a fascinating combination of cunning and foolishness, of avarice and pitiable character, of steely backbone and whimpering fits. She reminds me so very much of both Emma Bovary and Scarlett O'Hara. Her determination to keep the Eustace family diamonds entirely for herself is what sets the novel in motion, and with this rather simple device, Trollope goes on to spin out a tale which encompasses morality, greed, Victorian social mores, the corrupting influence of money, and the blindness it can cause to everything else of value.
Lizzie is contrasted, with every shade under the sun, with the sweet and constant Lucy Morris. Picture the contrast as one very much like that of Scarlett O'Hara and Melanie Wilkes. "The Eustace Diamonds" is a deliciously satisfying book, and a classic for a very good reason: despite having been written in the 19th century, what it has to say reverberates as soundly now as when Trollope first published it. I can't recommend it highly enough.
