Understanding Equine Medications is the handbook I have been waiting a lifetime for!!! I have been breeding and handling horses for the past 30 years, have spent countless dollars and too many frustrating moments when faced with a crisis and needed help. Many times our moments of crisis can be avioded IF we have the information we need, in laymans terms. Dr. Forney has produced an outstanding publication in providing much needed information for all horse owners, in all areas of horsemanship.
I now have the inside story on medications that I need, which could prevent a very costly mistake clearly due to lack of knowledge of medications and usage. This publication should relieve many veterinarians of middle of the night phone calls, prevent hysterical horse owners unusual amounts of gray hair, and most importantly, provide the horse with the care and help they need. Thank you Dr. Barbara Forney, you are a goddess!!
Dr. Forney is that rare individual that not only understands medication doseage, the history of medication, yet is an avid horse person herself. It is evident that this book provides us with USEFUL knowledge written from the perspective of someone who 'has been there' which carries great credibility and usefulness. Bravo, it rates a 10!

Revolutionary ideology may have inspired some soldiers in the Continental Army, but as the case studies in this volume document, the men of New England also weighed family commitments, economic concerns, and local politics when deciding whether or not to enlist in the militia. Slaves joined the army believing the war would bring them personal freedom while women served as auxiliaries or as camp followers. Those left behind defended the home front--unless the war took their homes and made them refugees. On the frontier, politically astute Native Americans weighed the relative advantages to themselves before deciding to support the patriots or the Crown.
By bringing together the perspectives of soldiers, women, African Americans, and American Indians, War and Society in the American Revolution gives readers a fuller sense of the meaning of this historical moment. This book is collection of papers on the main topics of cardiovascular modelling and measurements. Some of the results show how to calculate many non-linear aspects of fluid flow and the turbulence in the arteries and the bifurcation junctions of the cardiovascular system. There are three themes to the papers: first, the fundamental concepts of fluid dynamics and turbulence in the system; the second theme is the flow modelling in arteries and bypass graft; the third section is about haemorheology and haemodynamics and explores the factors that play a role in coronary circulation using data from patients with ischaemic heart disease and acute myocardial infarction.

What happens when you get a lot of struggling writers to tell you of their life just after college? Drama, tears and lots of laughs.
The toughest challenge faced by most twentysomethings is that period just after college. The process of discovering you really are an adult even though you still feel like a teenager can be as awkward as puberty and even lonlier.
Add to this the fact that for some reason many college grads are absolutely convinced that they are the only ones going through this transition and that everyone else already has a great job, great prospects and a great spouse, or at least a solid relationship. Truth is, nearly everyone goes through at least some time in this purgatory - where this engaging book steps in.
Stories covering everything from first jobs from Hell to cubicle humor to apartment woes let you know that not only are you not alone but your problems may actually be a bit funnier than you thought.
