I couldn't read this book. I skimmed it, but I couldn't read it. It was disjointed and disappointing. I don't think it adequately portrayed the situation. Also, I don't mind reading religious material, but I like to know it's religious material before I buy it.

So begins the story of the Lost Boys, children, some much younger than Abraham, who fled from the horror of those who butchered their families into the desert. They fled without adequate food, water and clothes. They fled, pursued by soldiers who found pleasure in torture. Yet, despite the hardships, many not only survive, but found their faith sustained them.

The Real Thing.......2005-02-02

It is one thing to read about the atrocities in the Sudan in the daily newspaper. It is quite another to hear first-hand the stories of real people who witnessed and experienced unspeakable crimes against humanity. I was shaken to the core by this book. It is one that everyone should read, especially those of us who will never travel to the Sudan in person. It challenges us to pray, to write to our government for assistance for these people, and to give from our own wealth to help in whatever way is possible.

This book draws attention to unimaginable atrocities in Sudan. Thirty-five thousand boys, caught in the crossfire of a religious and civil war, are stripped of their families, homes, and food sources. These orphaned boys join together to trek across Africa to refugee camps, and thousands die during their journey. However, by relying on each other and God, many boys rise above the violence they have witnessed. They vow to get an education and somehow make a difference in their native land.

This is a book that everyone should read. The Sudanese genocide represents an era in recent world history that the media has overlooked and under-reported. Kudos to DiAnn Mills for bringing these boys' true stories to life. This book will make your heart go out to the "lost boys" while you realize how much we take our religious freedom for granted.

The cup is half full........1999-12-16

I was telling my sister-in-law about a friend's child who just started a new school and is having a hard time. My sister-in-law knew about this book and suggested I get it for my friend. She loved it! After she read it to her son, it opened up a whole discussion on what would be the same and different at his new school, and how the differences don't have to be bad. He really responded well. I read it, too, and I have to say, after just starting a new job, I found myself laughing at how appropriate this children's book is to my life. You may miss friends and things from the past, but you can learn a lot from new experiences. Ms. Miller's students are lucky to have her as a teacher.

I just received an early edition of this wonderful children's book.

This eloquently written and beautifully illustrated children's book effectively describes what it is like for a child to move to a new place.

While this book is about a girl who moves to a new country, it can be used to help any child who is faced with moving to a new place and adapting to a different life.

The writing is fast-paced and kept my young child interested. And the pictures are colorful; they really help to tell this story.

Since the book is in Spanish and English, it is a great teaching tool for ESL classes and Spanish classes alike. And the well-thought-out glossary in the back of the book makes it an effective study book for an English class.

Beautiful photos and well organized book........1999-02-17

This is a book that Martha Stewart would be proud of. The photos are beautiful, and the book is well organized. It's great for beginners as well as those with higher skill levels, but, most importantly, it tells you HOW to make each project. You are given the needle size, color, and fabric and instructions on finishing. The projects are beautiful to make and doesn't give you the "granny" projects that some books have.

Opening with a tour-de-force of insightful simplicity, Beyond The Goal goes on to explore many aspects of business activity with Dr. Goldratt's custom disciplined thinking. Though I have not come through his excellent speaking with a clear understanding of the Theory Of Constraints, I heard many other ideas and had a pleasant time doing so. He covers a straight-forward process for implementing TOC within an hesitant organisation, as well as providing a brilliant technique for validating any effort to apply new technology in business.

This e-book reminds us Goldratt's literary style: clear, brief and precise.
After reading/listening to this lecture, I fell like I could run any facility in the world far better than the current management does.
This author delivers such a clear vision that by the moment we close the book we could train an audience on this subject.

This is my first, but won't be my last, experience with Coach in a Box. Dr. G. is in his usual form (obviously speaking to a live audience) but this material, in this form, is probably not for those uninitiated to TOC. An outstanding supplement to William Dettmer's Systems book on TOC.

A straight forward explination of this theory. This CD has really helped me to fully understand the power of his theories and has explained to me how this can be implemented into a business. If your interested in improving your business and your efficiencies this is a must hear.

Enlightment to TOC.......2006-03-11

In the goal we saw that there was a light at the end of the tunnel, or a bright blue sky above the "dark clouds of reality". Yet, I fully agree with those that have said that the explanations on TOC are clearer on the works of Dr. Goldratt's disciples.

But then you listen to this wonderful work and then you understand the philosophy behind TOC. He is inquisitive on the current reality to the point where you have to think hard, again and again to see the real constrains come about. No, its not phylosophy of science, because when you are just discerning through the clouds of reality, he hits you with the "show me the money!?!?", why are we even thinking this way if we are not going to get the benefits??!! and Im only in cd number 3 !!!

For those of you who have had some exposure to TOC and believe it can make a difference, I would recommended this cd book.
