This book is wonderful. It so beautifully written from the POV of little Robin giving an account to God of her brief life on earth. If there is a disabled child that has touched your life, you need to read this book. Dale Evans Rogers has written a masterpiece which will benefit the lives of many. Thank goodness God sent Robin into their lives!
Life Changing.......2007-07-13
My Aunt gave me this book to read when I was in grade school. I am now 42 years old and I still remember this book as being one of the most profound stories I have ever read. I have recommended this book often, I have never forgotten it.
Such a touching reminder for all of us that life is divine and should never be taken for granted.
Healing for Parents dealing with loss.......2006-07-18
Until I real Dale Evans' account of her daughter's life, I didn't realize anyone felt the way I do. We lost our 2 1/2 year old daughter this year. She had "special needs," some similar to those of Robin in the book. We always felt that God gave us our daughter and she was our own angel here on earth. This book is a wonderful story of the love between a family, their God, and their special angel. I highly recommend it to any parent or family who have lost a child with a disability.
I Want To Read It Again.......2006-04-15
I read this book when I was in 4th or 5th grade. The story of Robin Rogers has stuck with me for 35 years. While I have forgotten the details, I remember the essential message. All children are gifts from God, especially the ones that aren't everyone's idea of perfect.

This little book is a heartwarming love story and a heart wrenching tear jerker all rolled into one. Dale Evans Rogers shares the tale of little Robin, her Down Syndrome daughter who died at a very young age. The story is told from Robin's point of view, as if she is sitting on her heavenly father's knee relating what happened "down there." The heartache of a mother's loss, and the hope of a child's eternity are entwined in an unforgettable tale. I highly recommend this book to any one who has lost a young child, or has had to deal with special needs like Down Syndrome. Be sure to have a tissue box handy.

I first read this book shortly after I learned to read, at my grandparents house. The book was hardcover with a pink cover page.
Every time I went to my grandparents I would reread the book.
This book will bring tears to your eyes, and it shows that you are truly not alone.

Touched my life in a very special way...........2004-04-27
I received this book for my 10th birthday from my parents, many years ago. At the time, I was very impressionable and this book made a significant impact on my life. I learned then that what we as fallible humans consider to be "imperfect" according to our standards of ignorance and bias is usually the most precious of all things to God.
Now, I have a two-year-old son with Down Syndrome and I can relate in so many ways to this book. As I look back over my life and various correlating events that have taken place, I see that God was preparing me to be the mother of a special needs child all along. And it all started with this one little book.
Still touching lives.......2003-08-30
I doubt even Dale Evans knew how much this little book would touch lives. It was published in 1953 and my 6th grade teacher read the book to all of us in her class years later. Of course, we were all Dale and Roy's fans so we could not wait until the next day when she read another chapter. It is one book that I have read over and over again. It is amazing how Dale got Robin's message which was told from her point of view. If you want to read a book that is life touching, then read "Angel Unaware". The Bible verse from Hebrews is still my favorite verse.

41 women are featured in this thought-provoking book: some have names we recognize immediately from politics, medicine, spirituality & literature. Some for their derring-do & some for their expressions of inspiration. Some have made no headlines as they work with our homeless citizens or live with HIV, poverty or teach welfare mothers. One filmed documentaries in dangerous poltiical places. Another survived imprisonment at the hands of rebel bandits in a little known nation only to go to work, upon release, with refugees in ethnic-cleansing zones. Another stepped out of the shadow of a best-selling husband & learnt to speak her own piece while another is a pilgrim upon her walk toward spiritual knowledge.

In "Women of Courage", Katherine Martin has done a superb job of depicting forty courageous women who have followed their dreams, lived their commitments and made a difference in the world. These women are of all ages and are drawn from all professions: from art to politics; from explorers to activists. Some are famous and high-profile; some are relatively unknown. Each of these women has evinced a remarkable courage, openness and determination not to give up her dream - whether writing about the feminine identity of God, crossing the South Pole, or adopting a baby girl from China.
Too often, as Mary Pipher (the author of "Reviving Ophelia," and one of the women profiled is this book) says, courage has been defined as courage in the face of physical danger, the courage of a superhero or of Rambo. India produces more films than any other country in the world, and these works are avidly consumed by non-Western cultures in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and by the Indian communities in Australia, Britain, the Caribbean Islands, and North America. Jyotika Virdi focuses on how this dominant medium configures the "nation" in post-Independence Hindi cinema. She scrutinizes approximately thirty films that have appeared since 1950 and demonstrates how concepts of the nation form the center of this cinema's moral universe. As a kind of storytelling, Indian cinema provides a fascinating account of social history and cultural politics, with the family deployed as a symbol of the nation. Virdi demonstrates how the portrayal of the nation as a mythical community in Hindi films collapses under the weight of its own contradictions-irreconcilable differences that encompass gender, sexuality, family, class, and religious communities.

This book was purchased for me to help set up a business plan for self-serve dog wash with employees. I was not impressed with some of the ideas that were mentioned in the book regarding the design and style of cards to send to the customers to encourage continued business. Overall, this book was helpful and it sparked my own ideas.

Not exactly what I was looking for. Thought it would have more of example business plans in it. Good starter book for the Pet grooming.
From Problems to Profits Succeeds.......2004-08-10
This is the definitive book on the "business side" of grooming. Why another reviewer here would say to refer to Notes From The Grooming Table doesn't make sense. It's a great book on the "how to groom side" of grooming and is not a book on the business side of grooming at all. From Problems to Profits for the business side of grooming and Notes for the styling side of grooming and you have the best of the best today.
Useless for House Call or Mobile Grooming.......2004-07-18
I was recommended this book by grooming board but I found it totally useless for the mobile groomer or house call groomer. The book called "Notes from the Grooming Table" is a much better investment for the groomer in general.
The best of the best for grooming........2003-12-23
I visited the office of this author today and asked if I could write a review, and they put me online here so here I am. At first I thought this book was the biography of the author. It's not. It's her system she used to go from a tiny salon to a major pet salon. No matter how small or large a grooming shop you want, you can do it. I was so impressed look at me, I came to visit the author and what a warm welcome I was given. I bet her 5,000 pet owner clients loved her as much as me. This is a classic and many books on how to for any type of service business could take a lesson from the format of this book. If you are going to own a grooming small or large there are so many gems of info in this book. I am so impressed and feel so great about my future as a grooming business owner.
