Book Description

For almost two thousand years devoted believers, mystics, innocents, and even non-believers have reported to have near-to-life, fully perceptual, visitations with Jesus Christ. In 1992 He appeared to Glenda Green and spoke with her daily for almost four months. The expressed purpose of their visit was to paint His portrait, but nothing in the history of her career as an artist or university professor had prepared her for the life transformation that was about to take place. During this time, they spoke…as friends do, of many wonderful things—both miraculous and practical. Nothing would ever be the same. Her penetrating report of this experience is sincere, unbiased, and free of religious contrivance. In many ways her perceptions provide a bridge to the new millennium.

Never before has language or a state of consciousness been present to examine the nature of such a miraculous occurrence as well as to develop the profound implications of it. Here is a brilliant glimpse of eternity, rich with practical applications to life. These messages are sparkling and direct with great contemporary relevance, Imparting in every way the impact of Divinity in communion with a thoughtful and well educated woman of our generation. Amazing answers are given to more than 300 penetrating questions.

5 out of 5 stars The VERY best Spiritual Book I have EVER read!.......2007-10-11

As one who has been committed to the Path for a LONG time, I feel confident in saying that the new version of Love Without End is the
most complete Spiritual Teaching you will ever find.

Each sentence is a Gem ... that you could mediate on for quite awhile.

I have read this book (and marked it up really good!) at least six times.

A Miracle of LOVE indeed...

Gratefully,

Dr. David Kamnitzer

5 out of 5 stars Profound guide.......2007-08-26

I find this book to be packed with information on the nature of reality. Unlike my experience with many books on spirituality, I find myself returning to this book again and again. The truths that Jesus reveals in modern American English hit home whether he is explaining the nature of the heart, the physics of the universe or the ten commandments. Here is revealed both the deep love of Jesus for all people and an unflinching guide to all of life. All of this is presented free from dogma, free from religiosity, and free from condemnation.

5 out of 5 stars Just beautiful.......2007-06-13

The warmth, love, compassion, wisdom and joy that radiate from this book is, at times, overwhelming! For me, this is a book that one must keep so that it can be referred to time and again, as I simply am not spiritually advanced enough to get most of the information on a first, second and maybe even third pass. I hope to hear Glenda speak some day and I'd love to see her painting up close and personal. Buy the book and cherish it!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent transaction!.......2007-05-12

Thank you for the excellent sale - - I received the book in a timely manner and in excellent condition. Thanks!

5 out of 5 stars All You Need Is Love!.......2007-04-12

The fact that--at the core of your being--you are love incarnate is the main point of this wonderful book by Glenda Green. And even more important from a practical standpoint, is the fact that love is your point of power. In fact, love is the only true power in this world. And when you connect with your loving essence and allow it to guide your actions, you will be in full command of your life--creating whatever it is you desire with effortless ease. Now there's a down-to-earth promise from a very lofty, spiritual work! Thank you, Glenda, for sharing this wisdom that was miraculously shared with you.

      Book Description

Now I find myself in late August, with the nights cool and the crickets thick in the fields. Already the first blighted leaves glow scarlet on the red maples. It’s a season of fullness and sweet longings made sweeter now by the fact that I can’t be sure I’ll see this time of the year again....
      — from Learning to Fall

Philip Simmons was just thirty-five years old in 1993 when he learned that he had ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, and was told he had less than five years to live. As a young husband and father, and at the start of a promising literary career, he suddenly had to learn the art of dying. Nine years later, he has succeeded, against the odds, in learning the art of living.

Now, in this surprisingly joyous and spirit-renewing book, he chronicles his search for peace and his deepening relationship with the mystery of everyday life.

Set amid the rugged New Hampshire mountains he once climbed, and filled with the bustle of family life against the quiet progression of illness, Learning to Fall illuminates the journey we all must take — “the work of learning to live richly in the face of loss.”

From our first faltering steps, Simmons says, we may fall into disappointment or grief, fall into or out of love, fall from youth or health. And though we have little choice as to the timing or means of our descent, we may, as he affirms, “fall with grace, to grace.”

With humor, hard-earned wisdom and a keen eye for life’s lessons — whether drawn from great poetry or visits to the town dump — Simmons shares his discovery that even at times of great sorrow we may find profound freedom. And by sharing the wonder of his daily life, he offers us the gift of connecting more deeply and joyously with our own.

      5 out of 5 stars A Blessing In A Book.......2007-06-24

I was in a book store last evening and this book lay on a display table surrounded by fifty other books. What attracted me to to it? The simple yet beautiful cover art? The title? I'm not sure- but for some reason I picked it up and opened it to a random page, and read, "But maybe we're asking the wrong thing of God. Rhyme and reason, after all, are human values, not divine ones. Wanting human suffering to fit some divine plan is like wanting to fly an airplane over tornado wreckage and see that it spells out song lyrics or a cure for acne." (p.29)

In the words of Jerry McGuire, the author had me at hello. I read no further and bought the book.

I had a million other things on my to-do list today, and taking half the day to read a book wasn't on the list. But I read. And I couldn't put it down. And it's ironic, since the end of the book focuses on our need to practice the art of doing nothing--and in doing what we do with an aware mind. I suspect that if the author were still alive, he would be pleased to know that I stopped my endless tasks and simply read.

It is truly a book borne of human spirit and all that is good- love, compassion, understanding, faith. It is about looking at the "bad" and seeing it for what it is-- just part of life. It is funny-- I couldn't stop laughing at some of his jokes and observations. I won't spoil them for you but I hope you enjoy his joke about the turtle and the snail as much as I did. This book will make you laugh and make you cry-- that's a trite comment I know, but it's true. And, to continue my trite comments, I couldn't put it down. I hope you won't be able to either-- because that means it touched you like it did me. I know I will re-read it soon and I hope I remember to re-read it often. As the author would say (but not out loud for fear you might question his sanity) "Namaste."

5 out of 5 stars Recommended suffering the loss of a loved one or going through an emotional trauma.......2007-06-12

This book is one of compassion and caring, without being leaden or self-serving. It is a learned book of considerations of life as a transient condition of being. I have given it to many people who have suffered the loss of a loved one or who themselves are facing great trauma. It is a salve on the wound of self-doubt and loss. I recommend it highly.

5 out of 5 stars Learning to Fall: The Blessings of an Imperfect Life.......2007-05-19

Philip Simmons has a very good ability with words and his discriptions of the seasons and his own experience of losing physical abilities. He covers the various religions and the experience of living and dying.

This is for all individuals, those with chronic illnesses as well as for those who live with individuals who have chronic illness.

      Beautiful writing.

5 out of 5 stars Good and simple reading.......2007-02-15

I found this book at a mens retreat this past fall. I found his stories very easy to follow and helpful. His new found outlook to life under difficult times is inspiring.
I find myself trying to practice, and using simple actions and opening myself to new ideas very rewarding. Though I am no way going through his personal ordeal, I to am "falling" and hope to fall with grace.
A book for anyone, no denomination required. Enjoy life...look at the alternative!
A good book changes each time read. This is a good book.

      5 out of 5 stars Faling with--and not from--grace.......2006-12-31

Learning to Fall is a wonderfully enlightening and amazingly well-written book describing how suffering need not be a fall from grace if it is approached as a means of mindfully falling with grace. Although Phillip is dying from Lou Gehrig's disease, he models for the rest of us how to live more fully. In the spirit of Irvin Yalom's existential approach, by accepting his existential realities, Phillip is able to more fully engage in making his remaining days as rich as possible. May we all seek ways to find perfection in the imperfections of life!

        Book Description

        A. B. Marx was one of the most important German music theorists of his time. This volume offers a generous selection of the most salient of his writings, the majority presented in English for the first time. It features the oft-cited but little understood material on sonata form, his progressive program for compositional pedagogy and his detailed critical analysis of Beethoven's Eroica Symphony. These writings thus deal with issues that fall directly among the concerns of mainstream theory and analysis in the past two centuries.

          Product Description

For centuries, the merchant-princes of the Lyran Commonwealth survived as much through economic might as by the cloak and dagger, steadily growing in strength until their influence could be felt across the Inner Sphere. Now emerging from the ruins of a short-lived alliance and a bloody civil war, a bold new identity has taken hold of the people united under the mighty fist of House Steiner.

Kicking off a new series, Handbook: House Steiner? brings the essential history, politics and culture of one of the Inner Sphere's most powerful nations to life for a new generation of Classic Battletech? players. More than a mere sourcebook, Handbook: House Steiner provides rules for both Classic BattleTech and Classic BattleTech RPG? campaigns, including new personal equipment, creatures, life paths, and more -- all tailored for players and campaigns based on the Lyran state!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent resource for BattleTech Universe fans..........2005-08-04

This is an excellent resource for both Classic BattleTech Roleplaying Game and Classic BattleTech combat game. If you like the BT Universe this Handbook makes it even better. For example, in the history section there are maps showing the size of Lyran Commonwealth throught centuries. After every major section (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Succession War) there is a detailed map of before and after the event... As always in BT handbooks there is a political system description, legal, military, but also a detailed economic system (average income per province, almost every major industry, etc). But one of the great surprises is the color section. Great pics of various individuals, locations, symbols and money(!). In the end, there are some new rules for CBT:RPG and CBT (extra paths, new environments, new creatures, a bit of new equipment). All in all, a great resource for players interested in gaining a greater understanding of the Lyran Commonwealth/Alliance and it's role in BattleTech Universe.

                5 out of 5 stars This one's a keeper.......2006-03-21

I ordered this book for my sister who has just started to invest. I gave her my old "You have more than you think" by David and Tom Gardner, (1990's) and thought this would be a nice accompaniment. I skimmed through it after receiving it, and upon closer examination, got hooked! The Gardner brothers have done it again. This book goes from the beginner (my sister) to the experienced novice (myself) clear up to the expert (where I want to be).

This book has helped me see that, although I thought I was doing all the right things, there are changes I need to make (in the way that I think, as well as my record keeping) in order to make the next step of my financial goal obtainable.

Be prepared to work, as a couple of the projects are tedious as well as challenging (one chapter I had to re-read), but with the ever-present Gardner humor you are encouraged every step of the way.

I have since ordered another copy for my sister.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent workbook for new investors.......2005-08-06

Half the battle of investing is actually **writing** down your personal finances. It's **much** too easy to pick up an investing book, read the material, understand it -- and do nothing. The TMF workbook succeeds in both providing easy to understand personal finance and financial advice to the new investor, and a workbook, so that the reader can actually apply what he learned. The book ends with two solid investing strategies: fundamental investing, which looks at the company and its balance sheet; and mechanical investing, through a variant of the Dow Dogs. One of the secrets to investing is to find a strategy that you feel most comfortable with, and the TMF Workbook will provide a number of options for **you** to find which is the best for **your** personal finances.

5 out of 5 stars Learn real analysis..........2005-07-29

I bought this book after reading several other financial books by Peter Lynch, Roger Lowenstein, Arthur Levitt and John Murphy. I thought I'd add the Gardners to my variety of authors. While the concept that these other authors teach is great, the Gardners actually put the concept into action. They take you step by step through financial statements and number crunching. It is an excellent learning tool.

4 out of 5 stars Good study guide, but answers shouldn't be on the same page........2004-03-07

This is the investment workbook which goes along with The Motley Fool Investment Guide. However you do not need the Motley Fool Investment Guide to use this book.

I like that this book gets you down in dirty into the actual analysis of companies, they have you analyse P/E ratios, P/S ratios, growth rates etc... Howver I don't like that the answers are written write next to the question. (Kind of defeats the whole purpose.) I also think its ok to have some humor in a book but this one is overloaded with silly questions from the Fools.

Unless you want to have a book to just for filling in the blanks I recommend not buying this book. I think one of the other Motley Fool books such as their "Investment Guide" or "You have more than you think" would be worth it instead.

5 out of 5 stars Great book ..........2003-07-18

This book is great, really ... how many investment books (especially for us novices) actually impart useful knowledge to the reader while also making him/her laugh? That's what keeps the reader reading, rather than drowning in a sea of completely dry text (pretty much any other book) they are instead led to the next page out of enjoyment.
