Sophie photos the most valuable part.......2000-11-19
Lots of historical background here for the royal couple. The wedding photos are interesting but I found the best part to be the photos of Sophie, many of these I hadn't seen before and some were very flattering to the lady.

Informative but not a WOW! book to me.......2000-11-19
I've got it, there's a lot of information (historical and biographical) here but I wasn't bowled over by it. The most valuable part may be the Sophie material that it contains, she hasn't been abused the way Diana was.
just get it!.......2000-05-26
I have checked this book out so many times at my local libary I just may have to get a copy of this book for my own personal collection! the author has done other books about the wedding of Charles and Diana and Andrew and Sarah . They were very good books, yet this one is the absolute best one of them all! the stories about the couple are terrific, the pictures are senstional! a grand book to read if you are a fan of the royal family! highly recommened!

Book Description
In 1970, Chris Bonington and his now-legendary team of mountaineers were the first climbers to tackle a big wall at extreme altitude. Their target was the south face of Nepal's Annapurna: 12,000 feet of steep rock and ice leading to a 26, 454-ft. summit. As serious armchair climbers will tell you, Annapurna South Face is better than all but a handful of equally gripping classics. One could also argue that all that has happened in the big mountains in the past 30 years has come out of this expedition and out of this book. Bonington and his teammost of whom subsequently died in the mountainsrepresented a kind of greatest generation of modern mountaineers. They pioneered a new, bolder approach to high altitude climbing, and this book is about how they hit the big time.
Customer Reviews:
Bonington at his best.......2000-06-28
The first ascent of the South Face of Annapurna is told in Bonington's characteristically engaging style. No detail of organization, logistics or communication is left out, with the result that we end up knowing quite a lot about what the climbers had for breakfast and what was said during their radio conversations; but I see this as a good thing. The book is slightly lacking in exciting scenes of actual climbing, as many expedition books unfortunately tend to be, but has plenty of gripping material nevertheless.

The computer-generated image (CGI) is one of the most astounding developments in the rapidly evolving field of digital technology. It allows for the creation of make-believe worlds and characters that are so realistic they fool the eye and the mind. Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, and feature-length 3D animations like Toy Story and Ice Age-films that have left audiences speechless, forever altering our expectations of what a movie can represent-owe their distinctive details, or even their entire creation, to computer-generated imaging. This spectacularly illustrated volume is the first book to consider CGI, from big-screen effects to full-length animated films, from games to fine art, as the art form of the 21st century.
Focusing on 3D art only, the most exciting area of the field, the book features CGI's leading creators in film, television, games, and fine art, showcasing approximately 250 examples of their astonishing work in glorious reproductions. Author Peter Weishar, a professor and computer artist who is at the forefront of the field, brings both technical and aesthetic viewpoints to bear in this groundbreaking celebration of a major new art form. AUTHOR BIO: Peter Weishar is professor and dean of the School of Film and Digital Media, Savannah College of Art and Design. He is also an accomplished computer artist and animator and author of Abrams' Blue Sky: The Art of Computer Animation. Phil Tippett is a movie director and a visual effects supervisor who specializes in creature design and character animation. He has earned two Oscars and two Emmys.
Customer Reviews:
Only pictures.......2007-08-18
I thought that I would find at least little texts about the work done in each film or picture, but the books only shows images and more images from famous animation films and other films that used CGI. If you'd like to see many photos then buy it, otherwise choose a book with more things to say.
CGI - The Future is Now.......2004-12-09
Peter Weishar's latest work is a masterful and comprehensive discourse on the current state of 3d animation. This revolutionary art form has already established itself as a fundamental tool of the film industry, and its potential is scarcely imaginable. Prof. Weishar's writing is accessible to the lay person with accompanying wonderful images. A great addition to the coffee table!

The only book you need!.......2007-09-10
This book teaches that even if you are not the next Amazon, ebay, or Google, you can still make a million on the internet. You just need to find a niche that is underserved.
I purchased "Starting an Online Business for Dummies" and the reviews were mixed. In someone's reviews, they mentioned this book and said it was much better. They suggested buying this book instead of the Dummies book. I took the advice, and am glad I did!
The book is great because it helps you understand that you don't need to be a billion dollar business to start with. Even small, underserved niche markets can earn a million.
I highly recommend this book if you are considering an ebusiness. It is well worth the money. I have been talking about this book to many people who have asked to borrow the book. I keep telling them to pick up their own copy because I am still using it as a reference! It is a great book!
Good Starter.......2007-09-10
This should be the first book you pick up on your way to an internet millionairehood.

Do no give your money to this Author.......2007-09-08
If you already know what a "blog" is and you're fully proficient in searching the internet with google or yahoo, you're probably too sophisticated for this book. Fox's target are people with very little education (He introduces us at one point to the fancy MBA word, "business plan"). Fox also uses the website he started for his wife and mother as case studies. I guess I should have known better. After all, it is called 'Internet Riches" and has a picture of some guy driving in a brand new convertible on the cover.

Customer Reviews:
Great addition, but take it with a grain of salt........2007-07-05
This is a great resource if you already sell on eBay, and are looking for a quick read. This book will NOT be helpful if you are just starting out on eBay, looking for product sources, or need a how-to manual of any sort. The author spoke with several Titanium Powersellers (the highest grossing sellers on eBay) about how they got started and what their business is like currently.
Personally, I thought the book was helpful for my own use. There were quite a few good ideas that helped us streamline our own business. We took an extra-hard look at sellers whose product line matched ours (small, light-weight commodity items) and tried to see if any of their ideas would benefit our business. There weren't any huge changes to our business, but the book helps us tweak our practice with small changes either taken directly from the stories, or inspired by the stores.
Here's the catch:
eBay is stagnating. Since the book was released, many of the Titanium Powersellers in the book have either closed down, moved off of eBay, or cut back drastically on their eBay listings. The successful sellers don't stay on just eBay, but diversify as much as possible, and the book doesn't mention cross-selling at all.
There isn't a whole lot of information in the book, but I do think it's worth the $15. But the true secret to becoming a top online seller? Start preparing to move away from eBay.
Another great book to add to collection.......2007-06-14
Another great book to add to collection of reference material.
Everything but the Sources..........2006-07-16
I purchased this book in hopes of understanding what I need to do in order to move from casual ebay seller to powerseller. I did find ways to increase efficiency and the names and websites for the companies that provide the software but I did not find how to join buying groups, which ones are best or anything else that gives me a "Turn Key" ebay business. I work on computers, build custom systems, and occasionally take a trade in. I found that there is a company that uses this as a business model and was able to get some limited ideas from this book. This is not the book that answers "Where do I get product at a price that will make a profit on ebay".
I am looking for the mother of all ebay books, something that gives me the sources to create a truly turn-key ebay store. I am buying all the ebay books I can find because I am dead set on becomming a power seller by September, 2006. This book has been a big help but it is not the holy grail.
Not a How to Manual but interesting.......2006-06-09
Not sure what I expected. Ive never read much about doing business on eBay but thought it was time. Interesting stories. The format is to give you pointers by telling the stories of successful folks using eBay and the Author does that. I didnt find it terribly helpful for someone starting out and that maybe wasnt the intent but it was informative. I found that you had to dig a little for the secrets, maybe as it should be who knows? But an okay read, worth the price.
Learn from some of eBay's Top Sellers.......2006-04-28
This is a fascinating "behind the scenes" look in to what makes some of eBay's top sellers who they are. And...they've each taken a different path to get there. I read this cover to cover, and have referred back to it several times. A great read.

Stories about the Big Guys on eBay.......2006-03-16
This book is really a series of success stories as told by members of the Professional eBay Sellers Alliance who are the big sellers on eBay. Each of these sellers started rather small, and has grown their business to rather large size.
Most of these sellers have eBay stores. They use the auctions, of course, but they seem to concentrate on their stores where they can sell many of the same items. For instance if you had one widget to sell, you're use the auction. But if you had been lucky enough to buy a couple of hundred of them at a really great price you wouldn't want to sell them one auction per week.
After saying that, much of the book then talks about the mechanics of running a businees. After all, this is a business you're in. It's a mail order business, and this means a few unique differences from a store front. For instance, you'll pay a lot of attention to shipping and receiving goods. Make friends with the shipping people, they can help you. For instance, shipping companies have rules about how fast a package must be delivered or they get returned. I was on vacation for a month. My delivery guy signed for packages I got and kept them in his truck until I returned rather than have them sent back.
Quick summary, this is what the big guys are doing. You can learn things from them, but above all else, get started.
I've got to quit writing now, Lisa, my UPS delivery person just drove up.
