Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description

"Alexander's behavior was conditioned along certain lines -- heroism, courage, strength, superstition, bisexuality, intoxication, cruelty. He bestrode Europe and Asia like a supernatural figure."

In this succinct portrait of Alexander the Great, distinguished scholar and historian Norman Cantor illuminates the personal life and military conquests of this most legendary of men. Cantor draws from the major writings of Alexander's contemporaries combined with the most recent psychological and cultural studies to show Alexander as he was -- a great figure in the ancient world whose puzzling personality greatly fueled his military accomplishments.

He describes Alexander's ambiguous relationship with his father, Philip II of Macedon; his oedipal involvement with his mother, the Albanian princess Olympias; and his bisexuality. He traces Alexander's attempts to bridge the East and West, the Greek and Persian worlds, using Achilles, hero of the Trojan War, as his model. Finally, Cantor explores Alexander's view of himself in relation to the pagan gods of Greece and Egypt.

More than a biography, Norman Cantor's Alexander the Great is a psychological rendering of a man of his time.

This is the worst book ever written on Alexander. There are historical inaccuracies on nearly every page. Heresay and universally discounted legend are presented uncritically alongside historically accepted fact.

1 out of 5 stars Shoddy, dull biography.......2006-12-09

Is it possible to make the life one of the most compelling men who ever lived into an incredibly boring biography? Cantor does it somehow. I barely made it through half the book, it was so tediously written. Worse, much of the facts were oversimplified to the point of being wrong. It's not even smart enough to be a children's book, although it's written at that level of diction. Please don't make it your choice.

5 out of 5 stars Read 'Alexander' and weep for the "leaders" of today's world.......2006-09-30

This book is a gem, in large because the analysis of the "greatness" of Alexander in the fifth and closing chapter is designed to generate thought, debate and ideas for every student of history.

"The impact of Alexander on the Mediterranean world has always been a subject for debate," Cantor notes, and proceeds to add provocatively to that debate. Alexander, like Achilles, Caesar, King Arthur, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, embodies the spirit of the times and the people of their eras. Alexander and Achilles were heroic; Caesar and Arthur were innovators; Lincoln and Churchill gave words to enhance the decency of great nations.

Lincoln, to cite an example, did not invent democracy in America. However, when he defined democracy as government "of the people, by the people, for the people", he greatly sharpened and enhanced already existing attitudes. Alexander did the same in his time; he did not invent war, but he set an ideal seldom matched and thus established the warrior ideal for much of the Mediterannean. King Arthur does the same with his round table; Churchill gives credit to the British people for stopping Hitler.

Now, consider George Bush with his Texas swagger and flight suit while strutting across the deck of an aircraft carrier to announce "Mission Accomplished" as if he were a warrior. Alexander, in contrast to the coddled and well-protected life of Bush, survived numerous serious wounds acquired while leading his troops from the front. Whether it's Bush or Clinton or Reagan, there's a vast difference between Alexander and the perspiration and spin of today's leaders. As Canton aptly shows, it's why "the Great" title is retired.

Intended or not, there are numerous subtle parallels between ancient and modern events in the Near and Middle Easts. Alexander was successful because he responded immediately and brilliantly to local events rather than try to rule from afar; instead of being an ideologue, he worshipped every God he met along the route of his conquests.

Because he was handicapped by "faulty intelligence," when he reached Afghanistan and India he realized it was time to listen to his troops, then "cut and run". Why? To quote Cantor, "One of the old soldiers, a man named Coenis . . . . gave the speech of his life, ending with these words: 'Sir, if there is one thing above all others a successful man should know, it is when to stop'. Instead of trying to stay the course, Cantor says "Alexander sulked for two days but then tried to find a way to make this defeat appear to be a victory."

Cantor offers an intriguing psychological assessment of Alexander; not only was he "the supreme exemplar of that old pagan world" but he also knew how to sulk and then accept the will of his troops. Perhaps that is why there are no modern Alexanders; today we tend to look at his heroism, courage, strength and vision but overlook his ability to sulk.

It's a masterful biography, not merely because of what it says about Alexander but also for what it teaches us about ourselves.

5 out of 5 stars Short and Readable.......2006-04-02

This is a great little history, and I hope the publishing industry gives us more of them.

It's amazing how much of history was created by teens and twentysomethings. Alexander and his army were like a punk rock band gone wild. He drinks and debauches his way through half a continent. He must have had extraordinary health given the punishing environment and the many battle wounds. He is a master builder and does have a command of battle strategy (if not his army).

I found the comparisons to Ceasar and the speculation of how Alexander would have done against the Roman army thought provoking. Not mentioned is that Ceasar earned the support of his army, Alexander just expected it and was unable to keep it.

There is an interesting the analysis of his "greatness" at the end and a description of the other major biographical works.

4 out of 5 stars Easy-to-read summary.......2006-03-17

This book should be evaluated for what it was intended to be by the author, and not for what it was not!

This is a very broad summary intended for laypeople, not a detailed book for professional historians (nor even, really, for students studying the period). If you want to go much deeper, do read Robin Lane Fox's biography, which is scholarly. As such, I think it did a good job. It is written with a lightness of style - almost journalistic - and can be read in its entirety easily in a day. Initially, I found the anachronistic comparisons to modern events (e.g., Iraq War) a little intrusive and grating, but later I thought: why not? After all, if it helps to make ancient history have some relevance for the reader and encourages the lay-reader to learn more about the past then, so be it, the end justifies the means.

I have now enjoyed several of Norman Cantor's history books, partly for their light, summary nature, and partly for his easy and engaging writing style. They well suit non-fictional reading at the end of a hard day's work, when concentaration levels are, inevitably, not at their peak. I encourage the reader to try more of Norman Cantor's books if you liked this one, or to try this one if you liked other books of his.

For what it was intended to be, an interesting and engaging book.

This book is the autobiography of a golf hustler. Crump criss-crossed the country for decades bilking all sorts of people out of money with wacky bets and crazy schemes. At the end of the book is a guide to many different gambling games to play on the course. You won't find any tips to improve your game, but you will be entertained!

Leon Crump's Drive for Show Putt for Dough was a truly enjoyable read. This book lets every golfer see what it is like to be the best golf hustler ever born. As with most memoirs the writing style wouldn't knock the socks off your high school english teacher, but, unlike most memoirs, they isn't a boring page in the whole book. Definately a recommended book to buy.

          Book Description

Released in 2002 to critical acclaim, GODLIKE is a superhero roleplaying game like no other. There is no bright spandex, no pulp machismo. In the face of the greatest conflict in history, ordinary men and women emerge with the Talents their times demand, but who are still as vulnerable -- and eventually as expendable -- as the ordinary troops in the foxholes.

GODLIKE features an intensively researched alternate history of World War II, the depth of setting and character for which award-winning author Dennis Detwiller (Delta Green) is famous, an innovative rules set by Greg Stolze (Unknown Armies), and a complete "D20" rules conversion by Mike Mearls. GODLIKE: You are larger than life... but the War is larger than you.

5 out of 5 stars Played this at Gencon, and loved it........2006-08-30

We went to Gencon this year, and one of the games we played was this one. We had always wanted to see what it was like, and were pleasantly surprised. The book is so well researched that the feel of the era and the war is brilliantly executed. It's also not 4 colour superheroes, it is a 'grittier' sort. You play ordinary people who have developed one power, often a very limited power with drawbacks. This makes you better than the average soldier, however, so Uncle Sam wants YOU! The first person to develop these powers was a German, and so it gives more fuel to the Nazi fire.

The writing is good, the lay out is great, and the mechanics are interesting and well thought out so as to make the game go fast. Brilliant!

2 out of 5 stars You'd have to be Godlike to understand this game.......2005-04-18

It is WW2. Nazi Germany has expanded its reign of terror throughout Europe with the help of individuals with paranormal powers that defy the laws of man and God. But these individuals do not go unchecked, for on the side of freedom are those with amazing talents of their own. Individuals willing to fight and die for their families, beliefs, and their country. Welcome to the roleplaying game GODLIKE.

I wanted to like this game. I really did. Unfortunately, you have to be Godlike to fully understand the game system. First, the primary system is not D20, its d10. Gamers familiar with the White Wolf games such as Vampire: The Masquerade (or most recently Demon: The Fallen) understand the dice pool system. Characters have X number of dice to roll depending on their attributes and skills. The storyteller sets a difficulty for success from 1 to 10. The more successes you roll, the more complete your success is.

But then the creators felt the need to present D20 rules, in of all places the appendix, for those looking for rules more compatible with The Game (the book's not-so-veiled reference to the traditional Wizards of the Coast system). And this is where Godlike is anything but. In its attempt to embrace the best of the d10, d20, and the tri-stat system, Godlike becomes messy and convoluted.

Characters have six base stat scores: Body, Coordination, Sense, Brains, Command, and Cool. A rank of 1 is below average, a 2 is average, and 5 is the highest. Players automatically start with one point in each stat. Then you get six additional points to spend between the stats. That's not much. You either end up with a dead-average character or an individual with one or two really good stats and several below average ones.

You get 20 points to spend on skills, but no skill can be higher than its related Stat. So if you want a swim skill of 2, you need a body stat of 2. Designing a sniper with a rifle of 4? You need a Coordination of 4 as well (which means at least two other stats are a 1).

The stats, skills, and combat rules are explained in part two. Part three explains character creation. Yes, we learn how to run combat before we design our character. Part four explains the special talents that set the Godlike apart from mortal men and women. At least, it appears to be an explanation, but I got lost when they started talking about hard dice and wiggle dice and how to purchase them (apparently they provide automatic successes somehow). Talents and the special dice are purchases out of a point pool assigned by the storyteller based on the level of game he wants to run, much like the tri-stat system used by Guardians of Order.

Parts five and six are actually the best parts of the book, as they provide the details of the Godlike setting from 1938 to 1945. The timeline is nicely done to include important figures among those who possess Talents and their place in the world. If it wasn't for the price tag, I might suggest getting the book just for the information in these two chapters and then using D20 Modern to create a similar game.

Godlike's cause is not helped by its bland design. It is poorly illustrated with what looks like generic clip art and black and white war photos. I fear the binding would not hold up to frequent use. My reviewer's copy is already showing signs of wear.

Hardcore gamers with experience in different game systems may find Godlike entertaining once they wade through the rules. The game does nothing, however, for new gamers or gamers who only play the d20 system. While the story has the potential for an exciting and dynamic game, its designers were so intent on not being like The Game that they destroyed the system entirely. I would be very interested in seeing this storyline redone under traditional d20 system rules. Both the game and the gaming community would be well served if this happened.

3 out of 5 stars Interesting, but it needed to bake longer.......2003-10-18

There is a bunch of things to like about both the game system and the world offered by this RPG. While not unique, the dice-pooling system allows combat to proceed at a decent enough pace to keep the main meat of the story from being bogged down. The background is well thought out and the writers did a good job weaving their differences into the real WW2 history, but they wasted far too many pages going over the small non-changed details when a simple timeline would have presented the material just as well while taking up far less space.

On the down side, the list of skills is not anywhere near where the skills are bought - and the master list itself contains a great number of inconsistencies. Both the Editor and Binder should be taken outside for a good thrashing. There are so many grammatical errors throughout the book that you don't even attempt to understand anymore. However, it is those cases where entire paragraphs end up contradicting previous paragraphs that will have you really scratching your head. The binding is just so bad its not worth re-hashing the issue - think the original Champions BBB binding.

In conclusion, this is a solid effort and welcome addition to the superhero RPG arena. It still needs a great number of rough edges knocked off, but by its 2nd or 3rd edition I believe it could stand as an equal with any other the top-tier RPG.

          Greatest Strength: World feeling
          Greatest Weakness: Will system

          5 out of 5 stars A Solid Game.......2003-05-05

One of the best superhero games on the market. Uniquely simple, the Godlike system allows for fast and easy play. There are some flaws in the system, namely hard dice, but no system is perfect. The setting is great and the book does a good job of developing the World War II era. My biggest problem with the book is that many original copies had poor binding. Luckily, the producers of the book will allow you to send it back and get a new book with good binding.
If you are a fan of superhero gaming, this is the game for you.

          4 out of 5 stars Excellent concept.......2002-12-15

This is a very impressive game, and even if you don't role-play, the background info is worth reading for the pure enjoyment. Two things stop me from giving it the 5 stars it would otherwise deserve: A weak binding (at least on my copy), which makes me scared to reread it for fear it'll start falling apart; and all the typos. It's hard to believe that with all the care, the skill, and the sheer LOVE that was obviously put into this book, it was sent to the printers with multiple, really distracting typos on every page. I hope there will be a second edition soon to fix those problems, because otherwise, it's 5 stars all the way.

4 out of 5 stars Comprehensive Guidebook for Newbies.......2007-01-24

This book is quite comprehensive for those exploring working at home, or those looking to add to their offerings. There are 101 different business profiles, plus an extensive "how-to" on basic business, as well as a computer section.

While this book could be updated to be on top of current technology (social networking was not even around when this book was written), the basics are still the same. Good business practices remain essentially the same even though tools and methods may evolve.

The Edwards are self-employment gurus and have been for a long time. Their books helped inspire me to start my own successful business, and this one is likely doing the same for readers worldwide. I don't see everyone working from home because some people are not able to handle the isolation and/or are not able to work unsupervised. But, for those of us for whom this is an ideal lifestyle, this book can help. Many of us supplement our main business, and for that, these ideas are very beneficial.

For those wondering how to start from scratch, this book is a great place to start. I doubt if this book would be all anyone would need, but if you are exploring ideas and wondering how to make it happen, get this book.

          5 out of 5 stars Visionary authors.......2006-09-17

First of all, if the negative reviewers were such experts in the field, they probably wouldn't be looking for opportunities, so they wouldn't really need this book! I love it when I hear reviewers call something "dated" or "for beginners"...Well if they don't deserve a big pat on the back.

For those who are looking for a little more than something to criticize, this book is ABSOLUTELY LOADED with REAL, LEGITIMATE, BONE FIDE home based business opportunities. If you are still relatively new to the world of working from home, then these opportunities could not possibly be "dated" (that's just ridiculous).

I have spent thousands of dollars on the internet with so called "gurus" and "mentors" whose only real purpose is to keep you ignorant while they empty your wallet... and I am convinced that almost all of them are really clueless about professional entrepreneurship.

The Authors have dealt with computer businesses (from home) in a very refreshing way. No hype, no bull, no gimmicks, no come ons, no fog, no smoke screens, just 101 opportunities to make working from home a reality for you.

If you can't get your seventeen bucks out of this book, then you don't need to be wasting your time trying to act like an entreprneur... cause you won't make it.

Here's some advice. Go through the 101 businesses in the book, pick the ones you are interested in, and then sit at your computer and bookmark all the web sites they mention after each entry, including all the books (look them up on Amazon and then bookmark the pages for later).

By this time you will have yourself a nice little rolodex of tools to begin putting to use in your new profession. I guarantee you that this alone will have paid for the price of the book. And no, the businesses aren't dated. They are actually only the tip of the ice berg.

One more thing. Just a few years ago, two of the biggest names in Direct Marketing were saying the internet was just a fad that would pass. Kind of shocking to think that such "gurus" are so ignorant. No surprise to me, as I know the truth about these fellas. Anyway those with that limited sight are going to say a book like this is dated, because they can't see what's going on in the world around them.

But you are different. You are going to strike gold, by listening to these trustworthy authors and taking their advice. Because friend, there just aren't too many authorities in the world of business and marketing who you can really trust at all. Everything that they say or do has a hidden motive behind it, and it sure isn't your best interests either.

Paul and Sarah Edwards have given some really powerful guidance. What you do with it is up to you. Sure there will be alot of education required, but not nearly as much as would be required by going it alone. I hope you buy this book and I wish you well.

          5 out of 5 stars I Have a Home Computer Business.......2005-09-07

As one who makes his living at home using a computer I feel very qualified to make some comments about this book.

          1. Become computer literate at a level where you can swap out a failed hard disk or powersupply or upgrade your memory. Your local community college probably has courses on doing this if you need help. Then keep spares of parts that are likely to fail around: power supply, hard drive, monitor, motherboard, CPU, etc. I usually buy these things on eBay before I need them - I just ordered a motherboard for $20 and an 866 MHz Pentium III for $9.

          2. Research your business carefully. Some of the ideas in this book aren't very applicable. For instance #46 Internet Service Provider has been pretty well taken over by the big guys and you probably can't compete. And a lot of the things like medical transcription has been taken over by companies in India.

They comment that you should buy the fastest computer you can afford. Unless you really need the power, to do something like high end graphics or computer aided design, you don't need that much power. My fastest machine is a 1 GHz AMD Athlon that I bought with a 17" monitor at a thrift store for $75. I did upgrade the memory.

Further, you need more than one machine. I use four networked together: web server, database & mail server (the Athlon), and two slower machines for serfing the web, word processing, etc. Why two machines, often one gets busy for a minute or two (downloading something for instance) and then I can work using the other one. I also have a spare machine sitting on the floor if one of these should fail. Computers do fail, and Murphy says that will happen at the worst possible time, i.e. Sunday afternoon when you need to deliver your work on Monday morning.

3 out of 5 stars Not current, although helpful.......2004-08-02

This is another of Paul and Sarah Edwards'home business books, originally published in 1997. Much of the information here is similar to the computer-related material in their "The Best Home Businesses" book. Unlike the other book, this one has an Index.

While my comments about their other book obviously hold for this version of that information, the rapid changes in the computer industry make this a trickier buy unless you are already fairly computer savy, in which case you probably wouldn't need it anyway. The tremendous upsurge in outsourcing computer jobs to other countries, as well as sheer technological progress, has changed the face of some of these job categories considerably. You will need to research much more current information before committing to a business mentioned here.

That said, they do provide a good basic overview of what each business might entail. If you do not know much about computer-based business, this would be a good primer to see if something along that line interests you. I would recommend, however, that you do much more research with current information sources before you make a decision.

1 out of 5 stars The title of this book should be: How NOT to make money........2004-03-10

Warning!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BOOK!!!

It is a complete wast of money.
Even though this book was written a few years ago, there is absolutely nothing in it that could even possibly be helpful. Basically, they just give you a little synopsis of 100 different potential business, from catering, daycare, tutoring, etc ; Businesses that are going to cost you a lot more than you could ever make in profits. And most of the websites they give you(few and far between) and just about all of the newsgroups they give you are gone.

There are many books out there about how to make money at home with your computer, and just save yourself the time and most importantly, the money, and look somewhere else...
