Book Description
The Welsh princes were one of the most important ruling elite in medieval Western Europe and this text examines their behavior, influence and power. From the mid-eleventh century to the end of the thirteenth, conquest and foreign 'colonial' settlement profoundly transformed Wales. Massive changes took place in the political, economic, social and religious spheres, and Welsh culture was significantly affected. Roger Turvey looks at this transformation, its impact on the Welsh princes and the part they themselves played in it. Drawing out the human qualities of flesh and blood characters, Turvey paints a vivid and compelling picture of a fascinating elite. For those interested in Medieval or British history.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent for the casual reader........2004-08-24
This book is a pleasant survey of the activities of the native Welsh Princes who
ruled much of what is still considered Wales. It covers a little
more than two centuries of history whilst remaining concise account. Political and military events are the focus of this history text. Some social and personal information is included when primary sources are available, but overall this is a narrative account of the period with the main focus being on the princely rulers.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject
who does not want in-depth analyses. This is a great book for a
casual interest in Welsh history, particularly with reference to
Welsh rulers and their interactions with English dominance to the east of Britain. It outlines the significant events rather well without getting deep into the 'why' or 'how' of any particular event.

THE BEST STORY EVER TOLD.......2002-01-07
This book will leave you in tears, laughter and every other emotion. I bought this when it first came out and read it. I wasn't very emotional then, cause Dale was still with us. But now the he's left for a better place with God, this book makes me cry when reading it. It is great book all about his life on and off track. A book that I will cherish forever. ...
THE INTIMIDATOR.......2001-09-16
THE BOOK WAS GREAT, IT COVERED ALOT OF AREAS IN HIS LIFE THAT I LEARNED ABOUT, A GOOD BOOK TO READ. A GREAT KEEP SAKE. I'M GLAD I BOUGHT IT. HE WAS A GREAT PERSON AND IS TRULY MISSED.
Informative but lame.......2001-02-26
This book is informative enough about Earnhardt but is written on a third grade reading level. I'm an Earnhardt fan but found the readability of the book to be pathetic. Of course, I guess the author was writing to his audience.

This is a great book for any NASCAR fan. It will make you laugh and cry. You will have mixed emotions from cover to cover. It talks about his family and friends and the real Dale. Kathy Persinger, the writer did a great job summing the career of Dale Earnhardt. The pictures in the book are great. I plan on ordering the other three books in the series.

only found one item that needs corrected.......2001-04-17
On page 24 the book indicates that Baseketball was Dale's silver screen debut however it was in Stroker Ace in 1983 that Dale did his first cameo. Just a small oversight I am shure but I found the book to be a must to complete my collection

DIDN'T REQUIRE THE SKILL OF READING.......1999-06-13
Compared to ERnie's book, I have it two stars. ERnie's book was very informative and had just the right amount of pictures. Earnhardt's book was nothing but pictures. Too bad it had no words in it. I didn't have to buy it; looked at the pictures in the store and put it back on the shelf. I became an Ernie fan after reading his; I'm still not an Earnhardt fan. His fans can't read anyway, though. I guess pictures were enough.
Wonderful starter book!.......1998-11-21
This book is great for the typical Earnhardt fan. It seems a little small though. Basically it just got my juices flowing for more information. It has some wonderful pictures of Dale in his younger years. Overall it is a great asset to my Earnhardt collection. Lots of good information that I was not aware of before.

Book Description
The late Dale Earnhardt was unarguably one of the greatest drivers stock-car racing ever saw. As friendly off the track as he was tough on it, "The Intimidator" was and continues to be a hero for many. A moving tribute to a brilliant career and a life well lived.

One of 1998's most eagerly anticipated games and sequel to 1997's role-playing game (RPG) of the year, Fallout 2 is a postapocalyptic adventure set in the radiation-ravaged northern wastes of California. As the Chosen One of your village, you must find and retrieve the holy GECK (Garden of Eden Construction Kit) so that you can save your people from suffering. This Sybex guide, written by one of the game's lead designers, is an exhaustive resource that will help prospective Chosen Ones as they journey through the wastelands. The book begins with a section on survival strategies, covering such topics as player character creation, basic combat skills and tactics, and the fluctuating values of town reputation and karma. Other sections of the book include a complete listing of the game's many monsters and nonplayer characters. Weapons and armor are described in detail, as are the many other useful objects you may encounter on your journey.
As with any good RPG strategy guide, this one includes complete walk-throughs for each stage of the game. One of the book's most appealing qualities, however, is that you can glean a ton of useful information without ever resorting to these--and without spoiling key elements of the game's plot. Simply put, this is an excellent, well-written guide that should appeal to all Fallout fans, even those who prefer to make their way through the game without a lot of outside help. Besides, it's worth reading just to pick up on the game's numerous comedic references (Young Frankenstein, South Park, and Monty Python are among the most notable influences). --Michael Ryan
Book Description
The sequel of the "Roleplaying Game of the Year" features the same great gameplay as the original game coupled with an exciting new storyline. This is the only official strategy guide for Fallout 2, written with the close involvement of the development team at Interplay. Readers will find a complete walkthrough, maps of crucial areas, lists of items and characters, and detailed strategies for getting the most out of the game. Required reading in a post-nuclear world!
Customer Reviews:
Please don't waste your money!.......2004-03-23
You can use one of the many walk-throughs available online. Just do a search. They work just fine. You really shouldn't pay so much for a guide - they are never worth more that $14.95!
Maps R us.......2000-05-18
If you have never played the game, then play it before you buy the book. You will be disappointed if you try to follow the hints in here. For the rest of us who are die-hard fans, this makes for some good reading, but because it came out before the numerous updates, the info in here is not the most accurate. The maps, however, are the biggest thing in its favor, you get to see the entire cities in one view. buy the book only if you are a hard-core fan, otherwise you won't enjoy it quite as much, there are better walkthroughs on the web.
The layout was a scattered disaster of information!.......1999-08-11
Although I found that many facts were explained along with some great support I thought that the general layout was awful. I also believe that like some others it was missing some vital information that would have brought more life to the game for those that are incapable of finding things on there own (that inclueds me so dont take offence :) ) My suggestions are not to waist your money and look up the stuff on the web. There are a few great walkthroughs out there!
It's Not Very Good...........1999-07-11
The first fallout strategy was better. The walktrhough is especially weak and it misses a lot of the fun parts of the game. If you want a good strategy guide on this 5 star game, just search the web for the no mutants allowed web site. To the book's credit though, it does have a nice listing of the items and weapons, although some of the items and weapons are missing.
A great guide to Fallout 2! A real must-have........1999-05-23
This strategy guide is perfect. It has everything a Fallout player needs. It has descriptions of weapons, armour, non-player characters (NPC's) and more! And the maps are extermly helpful. Some may say it will spoil the game but that's not true, the guide offers you help if your stuck or want a piece of info. You don't have to read the whole guide if you think that will spoil everything. I myself read the whole guide and I think it didn't spoil the game at all. Actually, I think it made the game even more interesting! So for all the Fallout players this is recommended but of course many will want to try beating the game without help but that is nearly impossible because every Fallout player needs help every once in a while.
- Vitali Gusatinsky

Customer Reviews:
An entrepreneur's condensed reference book.......2006-04-22
Two thumbs up! I am a SCORE counselor who advises wanta-be business owners on what they have to do to get off on the right foot in starting their new business. Just about everything on which I advise my "clients" is covered in checklist format in the instant book. It is a wonderful resource. Although I can recommend this book to people starting a business, I think it would be a "great read" for someone in a management or executive position at a company that already exists. Other people who should read this book are high school kids who want to be successful in the future. This book will give young people information from which they can better plan their futures.
The topics in this 240-page book include:
1. Strategic Leadership
2. Performance Leadership
3. Coaching/Mentoring
4. Fundamentals of Leading
5. Traits of a Leader
The topics were not presented in the above order, and I think the book would have been better if they had. I say this because the title says the book is a leader's tool kit, and I think the first three topics above cover what I think should be in a leader's tool kit. The last two topics relate more to the leader herself, and thus are not properly termed as part of a tool kit. A better title would have been: "A Leader's Condensed Reference Book."
When I finished reading this book I felt as though I had spent an hour or two at a large bookstore skimming through the various leadership and management books in the business aisle. However, instead of having to read passage after passage of authors' prose, I simply read a number of checklists that allow me to better remember the material.
Maybe the author spent some time reading all of those books, and then spent more time condensing them into his checklists? It would not surprise me if that is what he did. But the result of his efforts is great!
