Como puede haber alguien tan imbecil de comparar este material basura con una novela de Garcia Marquez ????? No recuerdo cuando fue la ultima vez que lei algo peor que (Yo Soy el Diego). Es la historia de la vida de un GORDO DROGADICTO TRAMPOSO, contada en desorden y con excesos de prepotencia y despotismo. Es claro que este libro no fue escrito con "La Mano de Dios".
Espero encontrarme algun dia a Bragagnini "El chepo" y romperle la cara, antes de que inmigracion vaya al restaurante donde trabaja y lo deporte de vuelta a su porqueria de pais.

I saw this in the library one day and took it out. All I knew about Maradona was the "Hand Of God" and solo goal in the same match. I decided to try this book."

It's a bit hard to digest this book as it's translation means it may not have the same feel asin it's original language. I had Maradona slang and words, which gave it a great personal feel and made it seem better. Maradona just tells it as he experienced it, which does make it better than I expected. I do see his point in some bits, especially when he mentioned how cocaine DOESN'T help your energy like steroids does, if my memory remembers my science right, because if that's true, he shouldn't have gooten banned.

It's not too long, not too short and has some humourous situations in it, which lightened the subject matter. I would like to see him bring out a new version with new chapters of whats happened since. This book is good as it does give you food for thought, which Maradona probably enjoyed.

Truth about Diego's life from Diego's mouth.......2003-08-04

Don't expect to find in this book Diego's advice about not making the same mistakes he made, or Diego explicitly expressing his point of view about a specific topic/event in his life.
This book is the life of Maradona told By Maradona, it is simply the truth told with emotions and feelings about his life since he was little until he retired. You will find a detailed compendium/compilation of facts about Maradona's life/career, told the way Diego remembers and feels these happened.
You can feel his love and devotion for football when you read this book, because throughout his life all that surrounded Diego was football.

Black women filmmakers not only deserve an audience, Gwendolyn Audrey Foster asserts, but it is also imperative that their voices be heard as they struggle against Hollywood’s constructions of spectatorship, ownership, and the creative and distribution aspects of filmmaking.

Foster provides a voice for Black and Asian women in the first detailed examination of the works of six contemporary Black and Asian women filmmakers. She also includes a detailed introduction and a chapter entitled "Other Voices," documenting the work of other Black and Asian filmmakers.

Foster analyzes the key films of Zeinabu irene Davis, "one of a growing number of independent Black women filmmakers who are actively constructing [in the words of bell hooks] ‘an oppositional gaze’"; British filmmaker Ngozi Onwurah and Julie Dash, two filmmakers working with time and space; Pratibha Parmar, a Kenyan/Indian-born British Black filmmaker concerned with issues of representation, identity; cultural displacement, lesbianism, and racial identity; Trinh T. Minh-ha, a Vietnamese-born artist who revolutionized documentary filmmaking by displacing the "voyeuristic gaze of the ethnographic documentary filmmaker"; and Mira Nair, a Black Indian woman who concentrates on interracial identity.

She sees Davis as "one of the growing number of independent Black women filmmakers who are actively constructing 'an oppositional gaze,' a term bell hooks uses to describe films that look through/at African-American female experiences through a Black les. " her films "Seek to reclaim female subjectivity through (re)construction of time, the body, and an exploration of spacial configurations."

Like Davis, British filmmaker Onwarah deals with time and space, embracing "Heterogeneity and multiple sites of subjectivity." Challenging the limits of narrative and ethnographic cinema, she insists that the "body is the central landscape of an anti-imperialist cinematic discourse."

Dash, too, reconsiders time and space as she celebrates the Black body and African-American cultural diversity. Her Daughters of the Dust "challenges Hollyood's narrative techniques that typically ignore African-American history, particularly Black women's history.

Palmar, a Kenyan/Indian-born British Black filmmaker, is concerned with issues of representation, identity, cultural displacement, lesbianism, and racial identity. She demands that women no longer be invisible, silent ad supressed.

Vietnamese born Minh-ha revolutioized documentary filmmaking by displacing the "voyeuristic gaze of the ethnographic documentary filmmaker." Ethnographic filmmaking, she argues, does not "objectively represent the Third World subject."

Nair, a Black Indian woman filmmaker, concentrates of racial identity. A pioneer in both narrative and documentary films, her challenging, celebratory work includes the recent productions Mississippi Masala and The Perez Family.

Very complex.......2006-06-27

And by complex I don't mean a deep thinking, analytical book. There are alot of pictures, drawings, charts, graphs, etc in here and if you don't know much about finance, you will be lost on occasion. It's a pretty decent read if you can find one for a good price.

In regards to the person from April 28, 1999, if you can seriously and honestly say that PricewaterhouseCoopers "...Obviously, the authors' have no background in corporate finance..." then you need to keep away from any business books.

I found this book particular important as it provides a comprehensive view for those Financial Managers try to shifts from score keepers to decision makers.

Decent overview of changing the role of a CFO, nothing more.......2001-08-15

CFOs should become more involved in choosing projects and start to help their co-workers in product development, etc. use financial tools to make decisions. There, I just told you the guts of the book. The rest of it lacks detail for something written by an accounting firm.

This book might be useful to a young person who is trying to decide whether they want a career in finance or not. Because it is trying to discuss how good companies will use their CFOs in the future. Or for that matter, someone just starting out in finance to see what types of jobs are out there.

Excellent !!.......2001-07-07

I really think it is an excellent book that provides you with an overview of the new strategic role of the CFO. Its clarity of ideas and use of illustrations are key to obtaining a concise understanding of value based management and performance measurement theory. If you want to initiate exploring the world of finance's changing profile from transaction-based to value-added service function, this book will definitely give you a complete understanding of it. Once you read this book, I highly recommend PWC's "In Search of Shareholder Value" as well as Harvard's "Value Based Management".

A book that should deserve more attention.......1999-10-21

This is not a textbook on financial strategy and corporate finance. What it tells us is that CFO must tranform themselves into business partner and stop being bean-counters. If you do not want to be out-sourced to a shared service company, you;d better read this book. Of course, this book have shortcomings like most of the concepts like VBM, ABM & balanced scorecard are only briefly touched and because of this, the authors should have included further reference. Furthermore, some minor mistakes like getting the name of the CFO of Ericsson wrong (p13) caused me to doubt the credibility of the case studies. It's a pitty that this was not discovered during the re-printing of the book and such mistake came from an international accountancy firm like PWC.
