A FUNNY LITTLE BOOK ON A TOUGH TOPIC.......2001-05-03

Laughter helps give you perspective and anyone going through a divorce can use all the perspective (and all the laughs) she can get. This book will make you laugh out loud. Often. Get it for yourself, or for anyone you care about who is floundering through one of life's worst experiences.

Eat Drink and Remarry is a hilarious little book of very amusing quotes and cartoons. A variety of female authors have contributed to the text. There is something for every woman no matter how unique the divorce situation. I found myself laughing outloud in an airport. This book is worth a chuckle every time you visit it. Not Worth Even One Star.......2000-06-07

The field of Television Studies has produced more than its fair share of scholarly rubbish, but this book is absolutely the worst book in the field that I've read--that's quite an achievement! It's rambling, badly written, and utterly mediocre. The author doesn't seem to have a clue what she wants to say. How this nonsense got published at all is mystifying. Boring, predictable, and best avoided.

Besides becoming immensely popular on the ICC and in the Moscow Blitz Championship, in a regular game such moves can be a tremendous psychological blow. Book Reviews Not quite mainstream either are the openings treated in Glenn Flear's Review section this time. After all, you don't encounter Christan Bauer's favourite 1...b6 every day. The French GM's monograph on this English Defence (!) gets many points for its thorough and original content, though it leaves something to be desired in the structure department. Next is James Rizzitano's 'Repertoire book' (we get many of those these days) against 1.d4. A robust tome, although doubts remain if Rizzitano can fulfill his promise of 'beating' White's solid first move. Maybe that's just to much to ask... or is it? The unlikely author couple Sverre Johnsen and Vlatko Kovacevic also want to 'Win' with the London System, but our reviewer found their book to be quite balanced and objective. It's ideal for the stronger club player who wants a solid system without studying day and night. Boris Schipkov's CD on the A80-A85 Dutch contains by nature much more material than a book, but also more mistakes. Several publishers are completing coverage of all French variations as we speak. Glenn Flear compares them in his Reviews. But first he takes a good look at Konstantin Sakaev's new book on the 7.Bc4 Grünfeld and Konikowski/Soszynski's monograph on the KI Four Pawns Attack.

Flear's amazement about Chess Stars's decision to come up with a revamped version of Sakaev's first Grünfeld tome of just 2 years ago, is replaced by admiration for the Russian GM's deep analysis in this new 426-page work: `It shows how much there is to chess theory these days if you want to get down to the nitty-gritty.'

The Four Pawns Attack is an occasional choice of Flear himself against the King's Indian. Konikowski/Soszynski's new book covers mainly 6…c5 lines. The authors' analysis level doesn't match that of a Sakaev, but as an insightful reference book this one will please not only club players.

The comparison of Sam Collins's `the French advance' with Steffen Pedersen's `French: Advance and Other Lines' reveals some interesting insights. Pedersen's `Tarrasch Variation' also gets a look-over and is laid side-by-side with Psakhis's legendary `French Defence 3.Nd2'. Just read this review and you will have a good hunch which `French Collection' should be yours to get.

A very nice card.. informative.. I received the card before I received the software so I can't comment to it's content yet. It appears to be a handy tool to avoid searching through menus to find a function.
