How To Make $130,000 A Year.......2007-05-20
My copy just arrived today - couldn't put it down!.......2004-02-05
I say a advertisement on the internet for this book and tape offer and jumped on it, because I had heard of A.D. Kessler from a real estate buddy here in Florida. He acknowledged that A.D. Kessler was the grandfather of "nothing down" real estate deals. And he said that A.D. Kessler was more than just a promoter or a "mee-too" writer of books trying to capitalize on the popularity of real estate, he said that A.D. Kessler has done it! He knows this business inside and out and all points in between.
My copy arrived today along with the video. One of the first things that impressed me about Kessler is that he put the importance on people, not real estate. According to Kessler "The real key to real estate is people not property." And throughout the book the emphasis is on people. Makes sense, after all, who owns those properties and/or wants to buy them--people right?
I was also impressed to see the flaring reviews, in fact, raving reviews for Kessler by people like Robert Allen, Albert Lowry, Howard Ruff and Robert Bruss. In fact, Robert Allen wrote the forward to A.D. Kesslers book and attributed his success to what he learned from working with A. D. Kessler and refers to Kessler as "the real estate professionals professional." And isn't Allen supposed to be the King of Nothing Down?
While some of the information is not new, A.D. Kessler covers it in a way that is new and different. He writes in an easy to read style even though his system is quite complex. He makes it appear simple.
Kessler shows how to make money in good times and in bad times.
There is information on lease purchases, exchanges and more. The book is over 300 pages but reading it was such a breeze, that it seemed like 50 pages.
There is an advertisement in the back flap of the book for his seminars, but I didn't notice an arm forcing me to send it in. This one star reviewer (yeah it is really just one guy) makes me laugh. You get this book which is worth $19.95 retail and a video shipped for only $7 and he is complaining? Talk about the glass being half full!
I plan on using A.D. Kesslers advice to buy properties, all with nothing down. I'll let you know how I make out.
#1 of the 10 best books.......2004-02-03
A.D. Kessler says that you can make $250,000 per year on one deal a month using none of your own money. What is really exceiting is that his students have done it.
A Fortune At Your Feet is over 300 pages jamm packed with powerful information. It includes 21 chapters and 3 appendices. The millenium edition is updated to include the new tax laws.
I highly recommend A Fortune At Your Feet if your goal is true financial independence.
Did you get the letter offering the book & DVD for just $7?.......2004-01-25

Buck Wild Doonesbury : A Doonesbury Book
G. B. Trudeau Manufacturer: Andrews McMeel Publishing ProductGroup: Book Binding: Paperback Similar Items:
ASIN: 0740700154 |
Book Description
Actual events may provide plenty of grist for the cartoon mill, but it takes a mind like Garry Trudeau's to sift through it for the hilarious kernel of truth. From the Bill Clinton-Ken Starr face-off to high-flying Internet start-ups to new ways to plagiarize term papers, Trudeau hones in on the things we take so seriously and livens them up with craftyjolts of jocularity.
In this new Doonesbury collection, Buck Wild Doonesbury, Trudeau is at his best. We watch as Uncle Bernie pulls the plug on Mike and Kim's entrepreneurial venture, the virtual company that follows that rich tradition of losing money and lots of it. We sit in on a press conference with America's most famous special prosecutor who admits he spent four years "Leaking. Trolling. It's been hectic." And we behold Zonker as he passes along his long-held slacker philosophy to his young nephew Zipper.
Through it all, Doonesbury retains its fresh and innovative style. Cutting-edge-even though Trudeau first started penning the strip nearly three decades ago-Doonesbury has, over the years, tweaked everything and nearly everyone, from Donald Trump's aggressive real estate style to Dan Quayle's unblinking stance on family values to Newt Gingrich's ticking-time-bomb technique, while keeping us entertained with characters including Boopsie, Duke, J.J., B.D., and Earl. Buck Wild Doonesbury, like the strip, is guaranteed to be provocative, controversial, and hilarious.

I may be in the minority, but I truly dislike "Doonesbury".......2000-12-05
There was a time when I thought a big drawback to being famous was being lampooned in Doonesbury. I felt sorry for Trudeau's roommate, the Pillsbury heir who inspired this strip. I hate the way this strip puts people down and has an array of unappealing characters, like that talking cigarette, Mr. Butts. Stubb out Mr. Butts!
Boo, hiss, Doonesbury!
Wasn't the best but was still pretty good.......2000-10-25
good, but considering Doonesbury's rep for excellence..........2000-05-08

Elvis Culture: Fans, Faith, and Image (Cultureamerica)
Erika Lee Doss Manufacturer: University Press of Kansas ProductGroup: Book Binding: Paperback Similar Items:
ASIN: 0700613374 |
Book Description
It doesn't matter how you remember him--rockabilly rebel, all-American boy, B-movie idol, patriotic G.I., or Las Vegas superstar. Elvis Presley is the most enduring image in American popular culture. This book explains why.Other authors have explored Elvis's life and music, but Erika Doss now examines his multifaceted image as the key to understanding the adulation that has survived his death. She has talked with fans and joined their clubs, studied their creations and made pilgrimages to Graceland, all to explore what these images mean to those who gaze upon them, make them, and collect them.
In researching Elvis Culture, Doss discovered that the visual image of Elvis endures because it was so carefully constructed from the start. Sifting through the visual glut of Elvisiana, she looks at how fans collect, arrange, and display Elvis paraphernalia, make Elvis artwork, and participate in the annual August rituals of Elvis Week. By engaging in these acts, she explains, they continually reinvent Elvis to mesh with their own personal and social preferences and to keep his memory alive.
Doss examines Elvis in specific contexts: as a religious icon honored in household shrines, as a focus of sexual fantasy for women and men (both straight and gay), as an inspiration for countless impersonators, and as an emblem of whiteness held in disdain by many blacks--despite his having crossed racial lines with his music. She also looks at how Elvis has become a sanitized, legally protected image controlled by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., which bans the sale of black velvet paintings and licenses his likeness around the world.
As engrossing as it is informative, Elvis Culture strikingly demonstrates the power of the visual image in our culture and reveals much about American attitudes toward religion, sex, race, and celebrity-as well as about the construction of American identity in the late twentieth century.
This book is part of the CultureAmerica series.

Iconic Status.......2002-06-28
Doss's book was a revelation of sorts, close to the epiphany she recounts earlier on, realizing that people have come to worship Elvis as wholeheartedly as they do any god or cult leader. Doss also examines the elements of our own culture, which pave the way for such a dramatic recreation of image in this age of media saturation. She talks about the tight rein Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley Enterprises have kept on what they will allow his image and name to grace. Also outlining the myths involved in such a recreation, Doss shows us just how much we can trust the products and decisions of corporations whose inherent goal is pretty apparent: more and more profit.
_Elvis Culture_ also acknowledges the fans, perhaps the true creators of the Elvis image. Doss tells us about "Graceland Too" whose owner is devoted to the collecting of "Elvis stuff." She profiles an artist who channels her love for Elvis into sometimes room-size installations of kitschy devotion to the King, and another woman who has made (and charges no admission to see) a very miniature version of Presley's Memphis mansion.
Nowhere in the book, however, does Erika Doss ignore what such behavior suggests about us as a society. Whether we take the Graceland tour and support a multi-million dollar company committed to supposedly "preserving" the Presley name, or trust the fans to the more pure, downhome maintenance of Elvis's image,we must acknowledge that all of these people involved in Elvis culture are products of American society. Submission to the corporation exemplifies our culture's handing itself over to the Starbuck's and Wal-marts of the world, and the fans' collection perhaps even further shows America's servitude to a relentless materialism. Doss knows this, and she does a great job examining all of the different aspects of culture Elvis Presley and his image have invaded, and even more importantly perhaps, why we have let them.
The definitive word on Elvis fan-dom.......1999-05-27
