By day, Meimi Haneoka is an ordinary student at St. Paulia`s Catholic school. But by night, she pulls off fantastic heists as the mysterious thief Saint Tail! All the while trying to avoid Asuka Jr., the young detective trying to capture her. Asuka is beginning to suspect that Meimi and Saint Tail may be one and the same and the clues keep piling up. Before and after........2003-09-19
This review{by the way} is for the last volume of saint tail. My first one was for volume 4.
This book includes:
The birth of Saint Tail -
When Meimi first becomes Saint Tail.
The Christmas Present-
The story that takes place after Saint Tail's adventure in volume #6.
Seira and Sawatari-
Seira and Sawatari spend time together.
It also has some character notes and sketches, plus two short stories.
Saint Tail & Ruby........2003-09-14
I don't think this book is boring at all, considering I look at it so much.
1st chapter:
Kids want to see a comet, but the parents won't let them. It's up to Saint Tail.
2nd chapter:
A brother and sister need one last ingriedent to make a perfume that their dad started before he died.
3rd chapter:
Meimi goes on a date the same day as she has to get the Greensleeves music box.
4th chapter:
Saint Tail steals a locket. Meimi and Lina compete in a shampoo contest.
Very cute.......2003-07-06
Saint Tail is a story of a girl from a Catholic school who is student by day, thief by night. She steals for "lost lambs," rescuing things that were taken and returning it to them. In the meantime, a cute young detective, who is also one of her classmates at school, is on her trail. In the fourth of this adorable and highly recommended series, things are beginning to develop between thief and detective if they haven't before. Does end on a slightly suspenseful note that will leave you wanting to read more.
One...Two..Three.....FINALE!.......2003-01-10
This volume, volume #7 is the last of the Kaitou Saint Tail series. The actual 'story' ends in vol. #6, this is filled with Tachikawa-san's little extra stories and a few of her other small one issue mangas.
The first story is about the birth of Saint Tail. About how Meimi and Seira became friends etc. etc. the second story goes back to present and it's Christmas again and Meimi and Asuka Jr. have just become 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend' and decide to go on their very first date. You could actually really concider THIS chapter to be the very end. Meimi becomes worried on who Asuka Jr. likes really, her or Saint Tail.
The second story is my favorite ^-^ It's the Seira and Sawatori special. I do not want to spoil this incredibly kawaii story for you. It's very...important though. That's all I'll say.
The last two stories are very cute. The first one was pretty predictable though, the second one is very cute though. No real big plot in them, just little fun fluffy stories.
I recomend this to all Saint Tail fans. This manga is not as popular as some of it's other kaitou conterparts.(Though it should, Kaitou Saint Tail started it all!) *ahem* anywas highly recomended. Very kawaii ending to this incredible series of Justice,Love, and Life.

This book is a Cool Manga!.......2004-11-13
This book is a great manga becuase it has mystery and romance and some comedy together so it makes it a great story just like every other manga like Love Hina,CardCapters,Ceres,Rurouni Kenshin, and even more!Still i have a big fan of anime and manga for a long time.!
Saint Tail, Book 7.......2004-10-11
I love this book. I like how she (Megumi Tachikawa) tells Saint Tails origin in this book. I don't care what the other person said about this book. I like the other stories by Megumi. I also like Megumi's artwork. So if you like all of Megumi's stories than this is a good book for you.
This volume [stinks].......2003-01-25
This volume is kinda boring. The cute shorts and Pretty cover are the only redeemable assets to this volume. I recommend you only buy the first six books unless you really want this one.
This text refers to Saint Tail volume #7 book. Don't buy this one unless you really want to read the other shorts by Ms. Tachikawa.

Book Description
By day, Meimi Haneoka is an ordinary student at St. Paulia's middle school, but by night she is Saint Tail, the magical thief who steals back treasures for their rightful owners. For months now, the aspiring young detective Asuka Jr. has been hot on St. Tail's trail. At first he thought he was doing it for justice, then because it was a game with a worthy foe, but now he's beginning to realize that his feelings may be more complex. Of course he's also got feelings for Meimi (not knowing that they're one in the same). Can he finally confess his feelings, and if so, for which girl?
Customer Reviews:
a nice endig for Saint Tail........2003-09-06
I think this is the best cover art out of all seven. I think this book is just great.
In the first chapter:
Asuka jr. and Meimi go to Maju's fortune telling place.
Maju finds out that Meimi is Saint Tail.
In the second chapter:
Rosemary kidnaps Asuka jr..
Asuka jr. finds out that Saint Tail is Meimi.
Third chapter:
Saint Tail saves Asuka jr.
There are also two other bonus stories that are great.
Highly recommened if you want to see the ending.
The "Last Volume" of Saint Tail..........2003-05-17
First of all, this is NOT the last volume. There is a seventh book which contains some very cute side stories about Meimi and Asuka, and Seira and Sawatari, as well as a few short stories.
This climactic ending of a much-loved story is wonderfully sweet, and has many moments that all the fans have been waiting for...plus, a small glimpse of what might happen to our favorite characters in the future! The action gets more intense; it's not just Saint Tail fooling the police again. She's having a battle of illusions with rival Maju and her mother, Rosemary, after they've kidnapped Asuka Jr!
The exquisite art and touching story in this manga make it well worth buying.
Nice Ending, but Could be Better.......2003-04-11
This is supposed to be the last volume of Saint Tail (where the story ends); volume 7 is full of little stories, and book 6 also contains a few...
I thought that this was a nice volume of Saint Tail, although it wasn't as funny as the first two. However, the new thief (and former enemy of Saint Tail's mother)Rosemary provided some humorous dialogue.
I only read volumes 1 and 2 before this, so I don't know a lot about the stuff in between.
The artwork is really cute and bright, and the characters are adorable, but I think that the ending was a little bit weak.
Oh well! Nevertheless, this should be very enjoyable for any Saint Tail fan!

The author really knows comedy!.......2003-06-06
I didn't know that this series would be so cool, magical, and hysterical. To think I was kind of scared to try this series out, to think I'd waste my money on it. But, boy, was I wrong. People who like chuch magic/magic shows, and just plain comedy might like this series. This author ranks up with naoko takechi and clamp.
In the first chapter S.T returns a doll to it's owner.
In the second chapter a new student joins Asuka Jr.'s attempt to catch S.T. And S.T steals a painting.
In the third chapter S.T steals a dagger.
In the fourth chapter S.T. steals back a baseball player's glove in time for his game.
In the sixth chapter S.T steals back a design and wedding dress. And a young girl wins a wedding dress contest with the help of Meimi.
Fun-FIlled, Adorable and incredibly Kawaii!.......2003-04-06
I thought that this was a very addicting and entertaining volume of Saint Tail (Saint Tail was originally Kaitou Saint Tail before it was translated, I think). To be honest, I used to avoid reading it because I thought it would be something like Sailor Moon, which I never bothered to read a single page of...(honestly!) because that sort of shojo style of drawing just didn't seem to pop out at me. (Explanation: I usually read manga from CLAMP)
So, I started reading Saint Tail because an article in a manga magazine recommended this as a delightful series. Now, Saint Tail is one of my favorite manga series, although I've only read volumes 1 and 2.
Please note that it might be annoying for people who absolutely can't tolerate repitition to read the "One...Two...THREE!"'s in every chapter, since that is how Meimi turns into Saint Tail and also how she performs many of her magic tricks. Also, Meimi's friend and nun-in-training, Seira, always says "The good lord will help you" after listening to people's problems.
However, the stories are very interesting to read over, and the artwork isn't very bad, either. The love/hate relationship between Meimi and Asuka Jr. is very tangled, which allows numerous bits of comedy to appear all over the place- usually in school. Also, the characters are sooo cute! (Um...except for Lina...) This is probably best for pre-teens, although young teens might like it as well.
That said, I'll sum everything up with a quick and poorly internally cited quote:
If you're looking for something sweet, Kaitou Saint Tail is sure to please (Animerica Extra Vol. 2.11, page 3?).
Honestly Entertaining.......2002-04-05
By day, Meimi Haneaka is an ordinary Catholic schoolgirl, struggling with boys and homework. But by night, she pulls off fantastic heists as the mysterious thief Saint Tail! With the guidance of her best friend, Seira, a nun-in-training, Saint Tail steals back Treasures that are unjustly taken from the innocent. Asuka Jr., the son of a famous detective, who is determined to be the one to catch the thief, pursues her.
As much as I would love to give all manga books five stars and a perfect rating I cannot. This book is very entertaining but it lacks some of the qualities that catch the older readers eye.
The art is very cute and it is a great story, but I would not recommend, "guess purchasing" this book, as I would call it unless you like a large variety of manga. But please don't get the wrong idea. It's a great book for people 15 and under. 15 might be the limit though. (I being 16 cannot give you the younger reader's review)
The Chase is on!!!.......2001-11-22
Well if you liked the first and believed it to hold more room for the 2nd one in the series you are correct. Even though the plot lines were still a little cheesy. I thought it was much better and now there is more tension between Asuka Jr. and Saint Tail(A.K.A Meime) It was really sweet and it's a little funnier than the previous. If you thought the first one was so-so or pretty good than this one is a must!!! It's just starting to get good and leaves off kind of on a cliffhanger, and like I said earlier the Asuka Jr. is pretty close to catching her. I won't get into too many details but it's a must have!!!!!

Book Description
When Hollywood Loved Britain examines the Hollywood "British" film--American feature films that were set in Britain, based on British history or literature and included the work of British producers, directors, writers and actors. "British" films include many of the most popular and memorable films of the 1930s and 1940s, yet they have received little individual attention from film historians and even less attention as a body of films. While the book is centered on wartime "British" films, it also investigates wider issues: the influence of censorship and propaganda agencies during Hollywood’s studio era, studio finances, the isolationist campaign in the United States between 1939 and 1941, and American perceptions of Britain at war.
Customer Reviews:
Revelations and Nostalgia in "When Hollywood Loved Britain".......2001-01-29
Dr. Glancy's book covers those American films during the war years, 1939-1945, that dealt with England and the English. I was 9-15 during that period and spent many nickels and dimes to see them. For me, and I would imagine for anyone of my vintage, this book is chock full of both nostalgia and a wealth of details about the making of those films, all the more fascinating for the behind the scenes documentation. I literally cut my moveigoing teeth, as, I am sure, did many other of my contemporaries, on "Mrs. Miniver," "A Yank in the RAF," "Eagle Squadron," and so many others. What is new, for me, is the details of the conscious, and well motivated, attempt to subtly marshall US public opinion behind the British, mostly during the time when they were struggling alone. This was effected, not only with the war movies, but also and perhaps more subtly, with others, such as "Goodbye, Mr. Chips," 'Pride and Prejudice," and "Waterloo Bridge." It is one of those things we may have assumed to be true, but find all the more interesting when we are shown the full story. I believe that for anyone interested in movies at all, but particularly for those interested in those films which for many of us are still the hayday of film making, this will be a fascinating book. I look forward to seeing more of this genre from Dr. Glancy, and, hopefully, from others who can, with the same degree of skill and industry, contribute to this entertaining and important topic.
Book Description
Acid discovers the explosion of LSD culture in the psychedelic sixties from new and controversial angles. David Black investigates the CIA's mind control trials using LSD and the people who turned LSD-tripping into a popular recreational pastime, including the entrepreneurs with links to organized crime. David Black unravels an extraordinary story of double-dealing, intrigue and betrayal as the drug's proponents became over night millionaires-and officialdom turned a blind eye.
Book Description
Chess can be an obsession that takes over your life, whether you are a wood-pushing novice or a superstar grandmaster. British journalist Sarah Hurst was infected with chess fever at the age of 20 and spent seven years exploring the mysterious world of the amateur and professional player. In pursuit of interviews she slid down an icy hill in Hastings to catch a Chinese women's world champion, chased Garry Kasparov around London, chatted cheerfully with a manic depressive in Budapest, and roamed the Russian steppe with Kalmyk Buddhists.
When a newspaper editor Larisa Yudina was murdered within a mile or two of City Chess, the pet project of millionaire dictator Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Hurst began to expose the darker side of chess politics. She urged professional players to boycott the World Chess Olympiad, pointing to Ilyumzhinov's corruption and possible involvement in the murder. But chess players had no desire to reject the millions of dollars Ilyumzhinov was pouring into prize funds, and the boycott campaign failed.
The historical articles in this book show that chess, insanity and politics have always been inextricably connected. Nikolai Krylenko, the founder of the Soviet chess movement, was a public prosecutor at Stalin's show trials. One of the greatest players of all time, Alexander Alekhine, was an alcoholic who wrote anti-Semitic articles in Nazi newspapers. America's chess hero, Bobby Fischer, the world champion who single-handedly defeated the Soviet chess battalions, gave up the game after his victory and only resurfaced to break sanctions in Serbia.
You will be captivated by Hurst's insights and observations. "The lasting impression of Sarah is of a fearless and humorous person for whom no challenge is insurmountable." Ken Whyld
Customer Reviews:
GOOD BOOK, ... ... packed with info on the chess world..........2005-09-06
A chess player is one who can, with almost feline-ease, remove one chess piece from the board, using thumb & forefinger, while at the same time, and with equal ease, shuffle a second piece to that square, using his middle two fingers without the slighest hesitation. It is an image of a more delicate athleticism, having an almost acrobatic quality, and it is the mark of the serious chess player. It matters not the rating, nor whether most games are lost or one. Only the experienced practitioner of chess, can do this.
"The Curse of Kirsan" (by journalist SARAH HURST) is a terrible title. Do not misunderstand me. The book is excellent; but it sounds like fiction of the "myth & magic" genre, and it took over an hour on the Internet to ascertain whether Hurst's book was actually NON-FICTION. Have you ever had that dillemma? You look all over Amazon and everywhere else, searching for the simple words, NON-FICTION, and cannot find them anywhere, and worse, they don't even print the words NON-FICTION inside the book, so...??? Suffice it to say, it is non-fiction. It is certainly NOT a terrible book.
Only a single, thick chapter gives consideration to Ilumzhinov Kirsan of Kalmykia (near CHECHNYA) which is the source for the book title, "KIRSAN". Here are a couple of quotes from Ilyumzhinov Kirsan the dictator, not from Hurst's book, by the way.
"Irrespective of what I tell people, I give them instructions on a subconscious level, a code...I am creating around the republic a kind of extrasensory field, and it helps us a lot in our projects." -KIRSAN
"In my country, there is only one man who plays politics, and that is me. The other men have to work, the women have to bear children, and the children have to play chess." -KIRSAN
{this is the President of FIDE? They couldn't get Homer Simpson to take the job??? }
Hurst is a young journalist whose childhood interest in chess is re-awakened in 1993. She launches into a chess writing career with the result that she is poorly paid, though Her loss is our gain. Hurst gives us the "human interest" side of the contemporary chess scene, covering chess clubs and players in Britain, Hungary & Eastern Europe and the far reaches of Asia.
Hurst's chess history goes back no further than Alexander Alekhine, and through that Soviet player's trials in Europe, as an expatriate Soviet citizen, we become acquainted with the state-sponsored Soviet chess system and its scandals and brilliancies.
Her interviews with scores of chess personalities, some of them now deceased, are highly illuminating, especially in an era when many chess foundations are eagerly seeking to introduce the oldest game in the world into elementary schools and middle schools, as an aid in development. It is a good idea.
Moreover, Hurst writes with a commitment to moral principle, being an outspoken critic of Kirsan Ilyumzhinov's corruption and shady dealings when many members of the chess-playing community were reluctant to look further than cash purses, human rights issues be damned. Her outspoken criticism of the world chess governing body, FIDE, expemplifies this commitment to ethical principle. [federation internationale of chess, is essentially the translation from French] Hurst called for a boycott of the chess "Olympiad" in Kalmykia, sanctioned by KIRSAN ILUMZHINOV, while the ordinary citizens of that tiny nation suffered from lack of basic necessities of life.
[Mothers on a hunger strike to protest conditions were beaten!]
What I found most intriguing about Hurst's chapters are the repetitive nature with which chess fascinates and absorbs the attention of ordinary people and prodigies alike. The photographs are surprisingly informative also. The photo of young Luke McShane at the London Chess Club (p. 123) is reminiscent of a young boy, a bit of a prodigy, at our local chess club here. [And there are a handful of child chess prodigies here as well!]
There are not as many chess articles written by world-travelers like Hurst. There are those who are more-traveled, and they may play more chess, but Hurst is a journalist first and only secondarily a chess player. She is capable of phenomenal shifts in tone, from deadly earnest criticism of human rights offenses, to child-like fascination with the Royal Game. Anyone who has observed the tinkling, clacking, rapping, cascade of sound emitting from the moving chess pieces will understand.
--Bruce R. Bain, President, Denver Chess Club
The "human" side of chess.......2004-03-16
I just finished reading "Curse of Kirsan" after having it strongly recommended by a friend. It is a fascinating read, especially Chapter 5 "Some Unusual Positions" which describes in some detail the story of the smitten author's relentless quest to corner her idol, Garry Kasparov (Sarah ultimately tracks him down at his hotel, and finagles her way into his room). This book is well worth reading, particularly for those interested in the more "human" side of the world of chess.
Absorbing Accounts from the World of High Stakes Chess.......2003-10-13
It would be reasonable to assume that the focus of this book is Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the controversial President of the world chess governing body (FIDE). Living up to the billing of its subtitle ("Adventures in the Chess Underworld") "Curse of Kirsan" does provide an engaging look into the seamier side of the money and politics which fuel competitive chess at its highest levels. (In fact, the book is dedicated to the memory of murdered journalist Larisa Yudina, a vocal critic of Ilyumzhinov).
However, for the larger part "Curse of Kirsan" is an immensely entertaining treatment of the divergent personalities populating the world of serious chess. Included are familiar names such as Alexander Alekhine and Andor Lilienthal, but also a host of lesser-known, but wonderfully unique, characters such as Andras Adorjan (a tireless proponent of what has been christened "Rainbow Chess").
My favorite chapter of the book is that dealing with Garry Kasparov. Hurst's humerous and self effacing recounting of her efforts to corner Kasparov for an interview provide both a highly amusing story and a captivating glimpse into the personality of perhaps the greatest player of all time.
Much of the book is in the form of personal interviews conducted by Hurst, and the personal touch she brings to the narrative makes it vastly more appealing than would be a simple recounting of people, places, and events. Hurst has a knack for effectively profiling her subjects in their own thoughts and words, and the result is a truly engrossing panorama. One needn't be a chess fanatic to enjoy "Curse of Kirsan".
Highly recommended.

Book Description
Designed in the highly regarded O'Reilly Cookbook format, ADO.NET Cookbook is strikingly different from other books on the subject. It isn't bogged down with pages of didactic theory. The ADO.NET Cookbook focuses exclusively on providing developers with easy-to-find coding solutions to real problems. ADO.NET Cookbook is a comprehensive collection of over 150 solutions and best practices for everyday dilemmas. For each problem addressed in the book, there's a solution--a short, focused piece of code that programmers can insert directly into their applications. And ADO.NET Cookbook is more than just a handy compilation of cut-and-paste C# and VB.NET code. ADO.NET Cookbook offers clear explanations of how and why the code works, warns of potential pitfalls, and directs you to sources of additional information, so you can learn to adapt the problem-solving techniques to different situations. This is a painless way for developers who prefer to learn by doing to expand their skills and productivity, while solving the pressing problems they face every day. These time-saving recipes include vital topics like connecting to data, retrieving and managing data, transforming and analyzing data, modifying data, binding data to .NET user interfaces, optimizing .NET data access, enumerating and maintaining database objects, and maintaining database integrity. The diverse solutions presented here will prove invaluable over and over again, for ADO.NET programmers at all levels, from the relatively inexperienced to the most sophisticated.

Tips and Tricks with ADO.NET unrevealed.......2006-06-02
The book explains the ADO.Net concept completely, with examples and also explains the advanced features that would other wise have been difficult to be brought in practice. While designing and developming an ASP.Net application, ADO.net plays vital role.
This book is THE MUST for applications that need large database interactions. This book acts as the bible to the ADO.Net techniques. Great work.

A real good one.......2005-11-08
I have read this book completely. If you are looking to develop your skills in ADO.Net or not feeling confident about your noesis you must have read this book. Once you finished it gives a huges amount of confidence in you. It doesn't cover each and every aspect of ADO.Net but it explains the various essential concepts behind ADO.Net in a clear way by dividing it into topics and more importantly it doesn't miss anything and it is a must have book for reference.
Example focused book........2005-10-05
This is the indepth example book I have seen for using ADO.NET for getting connected to databases. The examples in the book are just great and will give you a complete view of what goes on with database applications. Starting with the fundamentals of ADO.NET, walks through the basic principals of the new object model, and what you can do with the object model.
I would recommend this book to everyone - ADO.NET is such a fundamentally different approach to data access from Microsoft, that we will have to learn again from scratch, and this is the book to get the foundations right. I have found this to be invaluable in getting up and running with ADO.NET.
Problem - Solution.......2005-08-30
I find this book to be totally unsatisfactory at providing an understanding of ADO.NET. Rather than attempting to teach the reader the basics, the author provides a series of problems with possible solutions. Additionally, what information the author does provide to the reader is given in sequential order, bouncing around from fact to fact in a way that would make it extremely difficult to retain the information. It's a bit like trying to read a dictionary one word after the other and expecting that the readers memories are nothing less than perfect. The examples provided do provide readers with a reasonable solution; but, unless you want to thumb through the series of problems and solutions, this book just won't cut it. If you're after a real understanding of ADO.NET, look elseware. If you're after an example based understanding (one that can only get you as far as the examples took you), this might be the book you're looking for.
This book is a must have!.......2004-01-28
After reading many general ASP.NET books I found I still had many unanswered questions regarding ADO.NET. The ADO.NET examples provided in the general books were very simple and by no means "real world". I ran into many road blocks, most of which could not be solved even after extensive research on the web and many ASP.NET forums. I finally purchased the ADO.NET Cookbook. This book is truely amazing and I have now read it cover to cover. The author uses a unique approach whereby real world problems are described and then solutions are presented and the details are discussed. This unique format makes it very easy to search for, and identify the answers to specific ADO.NET questions. The book covers advanced topics and all explanations are clear and concise - a definite must-have book for anyone who is serious about understanding ADO.NET.
