Book Description
The distribution of profits between corporations resident in different jurisdictions gives rise to significant tax planning opportunities for multinational enterprises. As cross-border transactions between corporations grow in number and complexity, the question of how a profit distribution is classified for corporate income tax purposes becomes increasingly important, particularly in the context of issues such as double taxation, non-taxation and tax neutrality. This unique and practical work covers the rules determining which transactions may be classified and therefore taxed as dividend income and how classification conflicts may be resolved. The author examines the classification of various inter-corporate transactions, including payments made under dividend-stripping arrangements, fictitious profit distributions, economic benefits in the context of transfer pricing, returns on debt-equity hybrids, interest payments in thin capitalisation situations and distributions following liquidation. The analysis of each transaction refers to international tax law, including tax treaties, European tax law and the domestic tax law of Finland, Germany, Sweden and the United States. The comprehensive coverage and practical nature of The Dividend Concept in International Tax Law make it an essential acquisition for tax practitioners, researchers and tax libraries worldwide.

Book Description
The year is 200X and everyone is now connected to the Cyber Network. People carry their own PET (Personal Terminal) and are paired up with an artificial intelligence program called a NetNavi (or NetNavigator). Computers have turned the world into a bright and shiny utopia but there's always trouble in paradise. While the invention of the PET and NetNavis has brought great benefits to the world, computer hacking, virus spreading and other high-tech crimes are becoming a major problem. A sinister organization by the name of World Three has appeared and theyÅfve vowed to destroy this technological wonderland. Enter our young hero, Lan Hikari, an intensely curious and cheerful fifth grader. Synchronized with his NetNavigator, MegaMan, he becomes a super-charged dynamo. Manohman! So, so much fun!.......2007-09-26
In the year 200X, the whole world is connected to the Cyber Network. People jack in to the Net using handheld PCs called PETs, and each person has their own artificially intelligent avatar called a NetNavi.
Lan Hikari's is MegaMan, a truly sophisticated and powerful NetNavi programmed by his father.
Like any fifth grader in DenTech City, Lan passes the time by having NetBattles with his fellow classmates, pitting MegaMan up against any who would challenge him. The problem is, NetBattling is illegal unless you have a special license. But that's only part of the Lan's and MegaMan's problem. An evil organization called World Three is infecting computers with sinister viruses with the hope of one day taking over the world.
Lan jacks in and sends MegaMan to stop these viruses before it's too late.
This manga, which is similar to the anime of the same name, was a blast to read. Ryo Takamisaki's storytelling is topnotch--quick, exciting and a whirlwind of adventure from beginning to end. His art is your classic manga but with a cartoon flare, and the dialogue is perfect, conveying to us everything we need to know about the story, without it coming off as long-winded explanations for "what's happening."
The banter between Lan and MegaMan is pricelss, even better than in the anime.
This volume also contains a very intriguing cliffhanger ending and fun bonus story.
Recommended.
Megaman is cool!!!.......2006-02-27
This book is really cool and fun! All the action and how he has to face his darloid copy is exciting. It really shows you all the details and is very dramatic for ex. when he has to perform the double soul with protoman. This is one of the best comic books i've ever read! All the Manga and the characters are reeeeeeally cool!
Recommended for all who like megaman!!.......2005-10-17
Except for the character names, this book is pretty darn close to the games. It is funny fast paced and Mega-cool. In Vol. 8 there are 2 Mega-men: the real one and a darksoul copy. That is awesome but confusing if you haven't read vol. 7. The action scenes are nicely done and you can atually read the sound effects which are realistic. I like how bubbleman attacks megaman thinking he is the darksoul version. The first nt warrior manga/anime I bought was #3 and i understood it fully even though i had never before heard of the battle network series. Really good comic
I LUV ROCKMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-09-21
ok, since they didnt change much of rockman(FINALLY) i REALLY liked this series. iv read all of the books in the "series". u can get these at borders and other book stores. they didnt take out much(as far as i can tell)and i highly recommend this. BUT TAKE NOTE: there is a LITTLE blood, so if u hav a little brother/sister, and even though the blood is black, DON'T SHOW THIS TO THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the first book is ok tho...otherwise...im not so sure. X(. finally, i dont suggest skipping books....not fun. but this thing is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehheh....enzan(chaud) as a chicken...i wonder how yaito(yai) thought of that...and i didnt know a portal could be a bed*snicker*...anyways...if u like this, then the regular rockman exe is for u...i highly suggest...
MegaManga!.......2005-06-23
The manga version of MegaMan NT Warrior is really good. It follows the games more than the anime, but all the characters have their names from the TV show.
I rather liked this (I never could get used to Maylu being called "Mayl").
So far I've read volumes 1 through 6. I liked all the volumes for different respects: volume 1 because it introduces you to the series, volume 2 because it introduces Chaud Blaze (my favorite character), volume 3 because it's really funny in some places (especially in these scenes between MegaMan and PharaohMan and MegaMan and GateMan) and really gets the series moving, volume 4 (this one is probably my favorite) because it introduces a kid named Sean Obihiro from the games (however, he is going around under the alias "Kei Yuki"), and he frequently annoys Chaud, who keeps giving him head noogies, plus there's this one really funny part where they make fun of Chaud's haircut (you have to actually see it), volume 5 because it introduces Mr. Famous (another one of my favorite characters), and Volume 6 because there's this one part where Chaud AND ProtoMan both start giving Sean noogies.
Yes, people have griped about the manga, although not as much as they've griped about the anime. But that doesn't change the fact that it's really good. It's also fairly inexpensive, compared to various other manga, but it's worth every cent.
However, I'm not sure that I'd recommend it for especially young children, because it's kind of violent at times and they're also allowed to use mild swear words occasionally (but only the mildest of swear words, nothing terrible).
Like I said, this manga is really good, and the drawings are also nicely done (although at times, usually during the battle sequences, it's kind of hard to tell what's going on), so if you like manga and if you like MegaMan, go ahead and buy it. You won't be disappointed, in all likelihood.

Essential for the conoisseur. . ........2007-08-23
This is one of the several Legman editions that
swept together a bunch of earlier printed sources
and blended them with a trove of oral tradions.
The one on my desk right now has a 1992 copyright,
but identical volumes are available from the late
1950's.
This one includes a list of sources and variants
and a limerick-slanted rhyming dictionary. If
you've ever wondered what could permissibly happen
to the young man from Saskatchewan, this is for you.
As for the poor fellow named Blaine, well you'll have
to look it up yourself.
As another reviewer has noted, virtually all the five-
line masterpieces in this collection are scurrulous. Except
for a few that are sadistic. Or disgusting. The prospective
reader should be reminded that:
A limerick's a rhyme anatomical
In a form that is most economical
And the good one I've seen
So seldom are clean
And the clean ones never are comical.
--Lynn Hoffman, author of THE NEW SHORT COURSE IN WINE and
the novel bang BANG. ISBN 9781601640005
A response........2005-06-30
While reading the reviews of this book I was struck by a response to the lady who referred to this book as pornography:
To the lady with a bit too much class,
Whose review was abysmal. Alas!
You know what I think?
You need a drink.
To loosen you up, you tight*ss!
NOT what I expected...........2004-09-22
Well, I was browsing in a used book store, and this big book of Limericks caught my eye again. I usually love limericks, but upon reading this collection, was shocked. I would dare to say that the word "pornography" kept popping up in my head while reading. I was sure that i had just read a few of the more extreme ones, so would turn to another area of the book. Again, just dirty and naughty words filled this book.
So, if you are looking for a laugh and really enjoy limericks with a naughty twist, then this is your book. I, for one, threw it in the trash once I realized it. One of only two books I ever threw away instead of giving to goodwill, etc. There are too many wonderful books to read out there. This did NOT belong in my library anywhere.

Delightfully Obscene.......2002-10-03
If you are concerned with politically correctness, and how people should function with one another... this book is not for you. It had never occured to me how many twisted things there could be about "A girl from Dallas named Alice." Yes, they are all here; chapters ranging from "abuses of the clergy" to "zoophily." Reading and reciting these cleaver verses is sure to expand vocabulary air in non-linear thinking. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
NONE ARE OTHERWISE.......2000-11-22
As it says on the cover: "This is the largest collection of limericks ever published, erotic or otherwise. None are otherwise."
The limericks that are included are often funny, some of them, however, are just plain raunchy for raunch's sake, but that's what limericks are. Limericks, like folk tales, come out of the oral tradition, and to be authentic, which these are, ought not to be sanitized, which these aren't.
I found one limerick in the introduction which gives a pretty good description of the 1700 plus limericks in the body of the book.
"The limerick is furtive and mean;
You must keep her in close quarantine,
. . . . . . Or she sneaks to the slums
. . . . . . And promptly becomes
Disorderly, drunk, and obscene."
That pretty well describes the content of the book. Have fun, I did.
The greatest book in the world!!!.......1999-06-06
If any book can come close to this is would be the bible. There is nothing on earth that can compair the wittieness of thought full insight as this book. I recomend it to all.
A Love of Limericks.......1999-05-22
The Limerick form (remember "Hickory, Dickory, Dock?") is given free reign here, with results both titillating, delightful and raucous and is, at times (most times) full of a scandalous repetoir of exuberance, life, and witt. If you don't have a favorite Limerick, you soon will.
A MUST BUY.......1999-01-31
If you appreciate limericks... good, bad... clean, dirty... you must have this book in your library. If you can't find plenty to laugh about, do not call yourself a limericks lover! The book also gives dates that the limericks were first published, and you'll be amazed at how long the Man from Nantucket has been hanging around.

Product Description
This is the largest collection of limericks ever published, erotic or otherwise. The seventeen hundred examples gathered here stem, about one-third, from some twenty printed sources dating from 1870 to 1952, most of which duplicate each other to a great extent. The rest are principally from three oral collections...

Book Description
Lee tells the story of Arlo and of the church belonging to Alice and Ray Brock.
Customer Reviews:
Entertaining but Flawed.......2007-04-24
This book has nice pictures of Arlo, Alice, and the church, but it unfortunately also has some serious flaws. Lee makes a few odd claims about Arlo Guthrie, the strangest being that his draft status was really 1-A. According to Lee, "The truth is he was not disqualified for the draft at all. His number simply never came up." (p. 102) I'd like to see Lee's source for this, but since she didn't footnote anything I have no idea where she got this information. Arlo Guthrie, in his commentary to the 35th Anniversary DVD of Alice's Restaurant, says that Lee is wrong: the army called him back several times and ultimately told him they didn't want him. Given Guthrie's denial, Lee's lack of evidence, and the general behavior of the US military in 1966 towards anyone classified A-1, I don't believe Lee. The book is entertaining, but I'd take it with more than a few grains of salt.
Groovy, man! I mean, like, Wow!.......2004-10-10
This book is more than it seems to be. It appears at first to be a rather dry history of a New England church, like many others, and the first few chapters nearly lose the reader in distant church history. But wait, this isn't just any church; it's Alice's church. You know, from the song "Alice's Restaurant." Cut to the 1960s, and you have a fascinating story of the intersection of hippies, media, folk music, idealism and the brutal demands of real life. At the serene center of it all is Arlo, who had the naivete, charm and good fortune to dump trash where he shouldn't have and write a quirky song to tell the world about it. What happens when an obscure 18-minute song becomes a hit becomes a cultural phenomenon becomes a movie? Things implode, that's what. Relationships disintegrate as the very act of recording destroys the thing being recorded (like particle physics). Author Lee is clearly a church supporter, but she is also a fine reporter who has the sense to let the story tell itself. Just when things get a little too sentimental or weird, Lee brings it back to center. Only in the last few pages does she gush uncontrolably (or lets the quotes do so). In the end, the early history of the church makes sense in the light of its afterlife. At least as portrayed in the book, the whole thing fits into a grand gestalt. Alice's Church is now the Guthrie Center, supposedly named for Woody but really an extension of Arlo. It is devoted to charitable works that are vaguely defined and seem in danger of disgressing into Sixties-like anarchy. Only the charismatic force of Arlo seems to hold it all together.
Really first-rate in every way. SURPRISINGLY well done........2000-10-14
I don't think I've ever seen a better piece of journalism.
I didn't expect too much from this book. I bought it for the usual tourist reasons (we were in Stockbridge to hear Arlo sing in the church). Published by Berkshire House, it graces the "local shelves" tables of every local bookstore and gift shop. This book didn't actually need to be GOOD. It just needed to have some scraps of fan information about Arlo and some old pictures of the Church and Officer Obie and so forth...
I cannot begin to describe how surprisingly satisfying this book is. It is really a first-rate job. It is so much more wide-ranging and thoughtful than might have been expected.
And Laura Lee covers the exact range of topics I was interested in, with just the right balance.
For example, about a quarter of the book is devoted to the "pre-Arlo" era. It's more than a lick-and-a-promise, interesting both in itself and as a jumping-off-point for musing on How Things Change. I never realized that the little fork-in-the-road Van Deusenville area of Housatonic was once a significant industrial town... At the same time, a quarter of the book is just about enough. I didn't want to wade through monograph on Great Barrington history, and after paying proper respect to the Bostwicks and the Van Deusens, we get to Ray and Alice Brock by page 65.
The thing that makes this book so splendid is Lee's sympathetic attention and reporting of _mild_ differences in opinion. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better piece of journalism. You see events refracted through different peoples' eyes--NOT a big-deal Rashomon conflict, just, well, different people saw things a little differently.
For example, Arlo's guru, Jaya Sati Bhagavati Ma, is seen through Arlo's eyes. She is also seen directly and with respect through Laura Lee's. However, Lee also reports the Berkshire Record's description of her as "a spiritual Ethel Merman wielding a Brooklyn persona" and Alice Brock's remark "Here is this dame, she's my age, she's from Brooklyn, she's Jewish, just like me, but she had this giant scam."
Thoroughly satisfying, absolutely first rate.
Lee closes the loop on "The Church".......2000-09-07
I finished Laura Lee's lovingly crafted book over the Labor Day weekend, having enjoyed it immensely. It becomes obvious that Laura Lee has a special love for the Trinity Church (now the Guthrie Center) because the history of The Church is exhaustively recorded in the first half of her book. I think it's safe to say that if you need more information about the history of Christianity in colonial Western Massachusetts than what Laura provides, you're likely well out of the general audience this book aims at. I think Laura hit the highlights as it pertains to the Housatonic/Lee/Van Deusenville area, and the Trinity Church.
The book springs forward in the second half to chronicle the uniquely strange and humorous events surrounding the Alice's Restaurant Massacree, the film "Alice's Restaurant" (itself a baffling blend of truth and fiction) and the subsequent history of the Church, having fallen out of the Brock's hands and ultimately into Arlo's. Lee closes the loop on all these wonderful events and brings us right into the modern era of the Guthrie Center, leaving the reader with an intimate feeling of hopefulness about the renewed Church and the lives surrounding it.
I suggest reading the book, listening to the song, watching the film, visiting arlo.net, and visiting Great Barrington. These are all the pieces of the puzzle. Thank you, Laura, for providing such an informative, entertaining, and loving overview of the Church that was, the Church as it is, and the Church that will be.
- J. Dock, Sept 2000
Outstanding Book!.......2000-07-27
Ms. Lee has really captured the enduring spirit of a community and a time in this book. The history of a church in the Berkshires seems like an unlikely topic, but add the fact that the church is the same one from "Alice's Restaurant" and an element of interest is added. What was a nice surprise was how interesting the history of the church and its surrounding community really is. Ms. Lee has given a slice of American life through the church from its beginning to its famous showing in the saga of Arlo Guthrie in the '60's and now. I sincerely hope that this book will help others to see the importance of understanding of our history and will help the Guthrie Center.

IDG and maranGraphics have come very close to the ideal "superdummy" format with Computers Simplified, Fourth Edition. This book explains personal computing technology to the complete neophyte, but unlike many books for nervous newbies, this one manages to provide a complete picture without drowning the reader in details.
This book does not cover the actual use of a personal computer--you won't find any explanations of how to manipulate a mouse or what the Windows 98 Start button does. Rather, Computers Simplified gives an overview of personal computing technology, from the components that make up an IBM-standard PC to the Internet and Web. After reading this heavily illustrated book, readers will know which aspects of computing interest them, and what they should look into next.
The great thing about Computers Simplified is that it explains pretty much everything a new user will wonder about. For example, even though digital cameras are a relatively new phenomenon, novices will have heard about them and want to know what they can do. This is also true for Zip drives, palm-size computers, scanners, fax software, Windows NT, and dozens of other aspects of personal computers that elementary books traditionally have neglected. Computers Simplified is like a child's science book in that it mentions lots of advanced stuff, but explains it in basic terms. --David Wall

A must for beginning computer students.......2002-04-21
This book is a must read for all of our computer students here at First Bytes Computer School. It is especially helpful for first-time computer buyers and beginning students. We keep copies on hand for reading before and after classes.
A thorough overview.......2001-05-15
I bought this to help my clients and friends that aren't techie at all. They own a computer and want to know more but the volumes of reading that can be done is overwhelming for many. I am a Microsoft Professional and I really enjoyed reading this from cover to cover. I found the information within to be accurate, informative, fun and fast. In fact while on vacation 2 of my relatives, who liked it as much as I did, bought it (with me in the store to be sure they found the right book)!
I can't imagine a better introduction: a must-have!.......2000-12-03
I really do owe the author of this book, as well as the book salesperson who included this book, without my asking, with two other books on computers which I had asked be held for me at a local bookstore for me ( all three of which I picked up later), many thanks, because I did not know that I needed this book and I absolutley did. At the time I was thinking of buying a computer for the fist time, knowing very little about computers at all, and this book provided me with information that I absolutey needed in order to make an informed choice about what kind of computer to buy. I am very happy with my purchase and don't know what I would have done without this book. The book provides a good overview of computers including hardware and software, how computers work, bytes, and types of computer systems(PC-personal computer, Macintosh, mainframe, set-top box) and then, using very helpful graphics-a typical computer, as well as operating systms, 9 pages on the Macintosh, plus a very nice introductions to the internet and web, including what the internet offers, e-mail, getting connected, web browser, multimedia on the web, web portal, children on the web, web pages and shopping, ), as well as buying a computer (considerations such as cost, Brand-name and clone, and after sale-service), upgrade(condsiderations such as cost and effective upgrades), mouse, keyboard, input and output, printer (ink-jet and laser),modem, processing ( memory-memory size, program requirements, memory chips, virtual memory,ROM and CPU, Memory Cache and Bus). If you are thinking of buying a computer, especally if you are new to computers, but even if you are not, I really can't recommend this book enough to help you in making your decision. The edition of this book that I have is the Fourth Edition © 1998 and it only goes up to the Windows 98 operating system and Windows NT in Windows and Mac OS 8 in Macintosh (UNIX is also covered, as is MS-DOS), however. It's time for a new edition.
Review.......2000-03-31
This is a great book to give to computer 'newbies' . I gave it to my parents who are buying a computer for the first time, they have never been on the internet, and barely know how to use the mouse. It explains things very well. It covers the basics without being too simplistic. Its an 'easy' read that doesn't intimidate computer 'newbies'. It does a great job explaining hard drives, RAM, chip sets, bus speed, modems, etc. It even tells how to make sure your phone is properly set up for the Internet - like turning off call-waiting. The illustrations are great! This is a great book to help a person decipher all the computer talk when it comes to buying a computer for the first time!
Excellent book for beginners.......1999-11-18
As a computer teacher of older adults, the "simplified" books are excellent for beginning students. I would like fewer "cutesy" graphics, but the information is good, and it works well for beginning students.
