I met Allen Watkins when I was fairly young at a Scout Camp and I could see that he knows how to get things done.

I have now become intrested in Real Estate and have read his book. That is an excelent book that is not only informative but encouraging! Although I had a hard time catching on to some of the 'Lingo' Allen's experiences, that he shares in the book, make everthing eaiser to understand.

FOR EVERYONE INTRESTED IN GOING INTO REAL ESTATE THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!

Mr. Allen Watkins' book is very informative and educational. I choose the books I read and I am very happy I bought it.

My family got properties that I want to develop someday. And by reading "The Reality of Real Estate Investing" it opened my mind how we can make money out of it and also start a career in real estate full-time.

His writing style is simple and straightforward. I am not a book critic but I just noticed that there are misspelled words that I came across when reading it. But anyway, that's irrelevant and I still want to rate it a MILLION STARS not five stars (that's not enough!!).

I have read a few books on RE Investing and am currently doing my first rehab. This book is a nice intro to some areas I didn't know much about such as foreclosures and had some case studies of actual deals, however, it still seemed quite topical and could have had much more detail in many areas. The writer further attempts to share his experiences and provide motivation to anyone to get started, including himself, as this is his first book.

I had just finished reading Ralph Roberts book "Walk like a giant, sell like a madman" when your book arrived, I found "Ralph's" book to be a promo on how great he was with a few helpful hints on selling. When your book arrived It was one of the most informative books I have read. It seems to be written from the heart and because you write about actual experience it lets me know it can be done. THE GREAT REFORMATION.......2003-09-23

After being hired at the Holy Forest Academy by being handpicked by the chairperson that runs the school, GTO gets his first assignment. His homeroom is CLASS FOUR, the worst class that has ever come through the halls of the school. It has run off many a teacher, even caused one to be institutionalized. This third volume mainly has to do with the duel going on between GTO and this class.

At first, he thinks they're not that bad, but when a computer altered pornographic photo of GTO is pasted all over the school he decides to get even.

This series just gets better and better. This volume highlights the deception and the cruelty of young minds when they have no guidance. It also marks the beginnings of friendship between GTO and some of his students. He cleverly uses their own methods against them.

Highly recommended.

Not the best........2003-04-18

The humor in this book isn't the cute almost innocent humor of the first two. This book has a different and much more adult oriented plot line. However, it still has it's funny moments and is enjoyable. Be warned though: Not as good as the first two.

Great Teacher Onizuka has finally landed his first teaching job!!!
But he's assigned to the dreaded 4th class! You should see what these vicious kids have done to previous teachers and what they do to poor Onizuka! There's so much to say about this manga ("backwards" as it was origionally released, reading from right to left), but so little without spoiling anything!
If you're reading this review, I assume you've read 1 & 2, so there isn't much to say, you already know how great the GTO series is.
Pick it up!!!

This is an attempt to analyze football using sociological formalism. While written with serious intent, this book is a complete failure. The use of stilted sociological jargon and pseudoconcepts does nothing to enhance understanding of football as a social phenomenon or to enhance enjoyment of the game. Football might be an interesting entry point into the social life of socities that especially prize football, but this book does not say anything interesting about this aspect of sport and social life.

I've not bought this book yet, but after reading the review from 'Ole Richard Tuft "Tufturk"' here at Amazon.com I just had to show another, more professional, comment to "Gambit Guide to the Bogo-Indian" I've found at [...]:

"The Bogo-Indian (or Bogoljubow Defence, as it is occasionally called) arising after 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 e6 3 Nf3 Bb4+ is still something of a well-kept secret as far as the majority of players are concerned, as it is still perceived as the country cousin of the Queen's Indian (3 ... b6). It also has the reputation of being slightly dull. However, while it may not be what Ruud Gullit would exactly call 'sexy chess', it certainly gets plenty of sound positions and is used by a wide range of top players, from Korchnoi and Timman to Adams and Andersson. Steffen Pedersen's no-nonsense guide is a good introduction for the club player and serious student alike, with a good summary of pawn structures and typical plans for both sides at the start of each chapter. Variations are also given a certain character, so we also learn that 4 Nbd2 is 'ambitious', whilst the tricky line 4 Bd2 c5 is 'aggressive'.

Pedersen has gone a long way to attempting a complete repertoire coverage, as transpositions to the Nimzo-Indian after 4 Nc3 are covered, so that there is no need go and 'see another book'. This approach seems to have been followed throughout, but occasionally Pedersen does feel the need to draw his line in the sand, such as in the chapter on the Catalan Bogo (1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 e6 3 g3 Bb4+): '4 Nc3 is a 4 g3 Nimzo-Indian and really outside the scope of this book'. Despite this slight limitation (which would be hard to conquer within the allotted number of pages anyway), Pedersen's explanation of ideas really is first class, and should prove very handy for those who want a solid defence where knowledge of the key ideas is much more important than line-by-line memory work."

I hope this will convince people who are concidering buying this book not to let "Ole Richard Tuft "Tufturk" talk them out off it.

If I ever buy it myself, I'll be back to give you my own opinion regarding this book (by the way, if you wonna lay your hands on a book about the Bogo-Indian, this one is about the only one I've come across...).

Uninspired.......2005-01-04

In the introduction, Pedersen states: "I do not think that the Bogo-Indian is a difficult opening to learn. ...Very few precise variations have to be memorized and in most cases one can get by with a general understanding of the strategic principles." While this is true, it completely contradicts the contents of the book! Being a book in the Gambit "Guide to..." series, it shuns illustrative games in favor of presenting indexed variations. Each chapter is prefaced by a presentation of typical pawn structures and planning for both sides, but these explanatory passages are so brief and generalised that they are of little use at all.

Another problem is how the material is divided up: 4.Nbd2 gets 32 pages of coverage, while 94 pages are allotted to 4.Bd2. Obviously, 4.Bd2 is more common (my database suggests that it occurs about twice as often), but this seems a bit unfair. The important transposition to the Nimzo-Queens Indian hybrid after 4.Nc3 gets 16 pages, and the Catalan-Bogo a mere 7 pages.

I don't feel that this book has advanced my understanding of the Bogo-Indian, neither has it inspired me to play the opening. I get lost in subvariations and put off by the lack of clear recommendations from the author (lots of "possibles" and "maybe's"). Pedersens "Guide to the Benko Gambit" is a better book (though it uses the same format. Perhaps the Benko is more suited for it, anyway he seems to put more soul into it), and especially "Dutch for the Attacking player". For treatment of the Bogo-Indian, I encourage you to look elsewhere.

Windows automation books come in two styles - Recipe Book, where the reader needs only a remedial knowledge of scripting and has been given hundreds of task-based scripts, and Development Guide, where the reader is only given the tools and training to create the task-based scripts instead. This title falls closer to the first than the last.

Although the reader is presented with a quick overview of scripting concepts, you are not assumed to know how to script but have enough technical ability to look at the scripts and understand the gist of what you are reading and make small changes if needed. All scripts presented in the book (and found on the accompanying CD) are written in VBScript (sorry jscript users) and for the most part wrapped in the WSF XML format.

The first 35 pages which make up Part One are overviews of the principals of automation, general syntax and usage of the Windows Script Host, security thru digital certificates, and networking and remote considerations. From there, the remainder of the book presents the toolbox scripts in a fairly straightforward manner, with each task section listing a description of the task, how you would do it manually, example usage of the provided script, the usage syntax of the script, a general overview of the part of the script that accomplishes the task, troubleshooting for the particular task, and a "go here to learn more" section. A very broad array of toolbox topics for Windows administration are presented, including both client and server settings and management, hardware and software inventorying, password management, services and processes management, file and disk management, as well as network-specific services management and some IIS 6 tasks.

The included CD contains all the scripts and script components presented in the book with a companion help file, a PDF version of the book, a PDF version of a different Microsoft scripting book titled "Microsoft Windows Scripting Self-Paced Learning Guide", and a video presentation of "VBScript Essentials for Windows Administrators", which is an overview of how to script VBScript (sorry jscript users - no luck). A quick watch of the videos reminded me why I hate video learning, what with only fair sound quality and a small display size. Readers seriously interested in learning how to script are much better served reading "Microsoft Windows 2000 Scripting Guide" (ISBN 0735618674).

It is unfortunate that half-stars are not permitted; I would rather have given the title 3.5 stars. This title is not a resource to teach you the tools you need to fully script and automate administration on your network. As a toolbox, the provided scripts are very useful but fall short of being a very complete resource. The tasks the author has opted to include are indeed found in common use, but the true abilities of the underlying technology is really only lightly touched upon. Administrators already advanced in the area of task automation will not find this title useful. Beginning to intermediate administrators can gain value from this, but it most likely will not be your last purchase on this topic.
