It's Misty of Cerulean City!.......2003-06-15
In this issue of Pokemon Adventures, Red and Misty travel through Mt. Moon, but on the way they run into Team Rocket, a strange organization who's bent on capturing other people's Pokemon. After that, Red and Misty arrive at Cerulean City, where Misty lives. Apparantly she lives in a huge mansion, and has a whole bunch of maids which Red falls instantly in love with. Unfortunately for him, he gets on Misty's bad side and causes her to challenge him, unexpectedly, to a Gym Battle. Soonafter, Red ventures off further into the Pokemon world, and runs into a freakish looking half-Pokemon half-human that calls itself 'Bill'. If you enjoyed the game, you should really get this issue of Pokemon Adventures, because you'll probably enjoy this as well.

disappointing pamphlet.......2004-02-08
a "collection" of one-liners more aptly describes this particular volume. not exactly the wealth of information i hoped to find in a book with such a pompous title.
that's not to say there aren't a few interesting tid-bits to be gleaned from the book, for there are... just not enough.
bottom line: parsons' slim offering is over-hyped and UNDER delivers. the research for this book is elementary at best.
there are a number books on this particular subject that are well worth reading... "facts & phalluses" is not among them.
my advice...save your money and check out a few more titles.
Smart, funny and informative guide to the Male Member.......2002-11-22
This book contains so many facts, myths and historical details of the Male Member, that you will be fascinated, and also greatly amused. Alexandra Parsons presents the information with some of the smartest remarks I've ever read. She pokes fun at the Kama Sutra, gives us the history of condoms, and tells us the real scientific facts on size, and whether it matters, and how it varies. A veritable cornucopia of amazing phallic facts. And, of course, legends loom large, and are portrayed with tongue firmly in cheek (no pun intended). We are also treated to things we never knew, such as the size and shape of the penis of other members of the animal kingdom. You'd be amazed at what you will learn in this short but informative and entertaining book. And, you'll laugh so hard your sides will ache at some of the smart remarks from the author. I consider this book incredibly entertaining, and quite a feast for the curious, both male and female.
A great little fact book.......2002-07-04
Ok, sure, maybe some of the entries may be myths, but that's fine. The book does good in covering everything from the weird/strange, to history, and a section devoted to animals. And while it may be short, it's full of interesting little tidbits that will make you and your friends go "Hmmmm...". I know I did, all in all a very interesting read.
Facts and Phalluses Review.......2001-02-16
This is a good book that will make you laugh wonder and learn. Although i thought some of the things that were said in the book were ludicrous I thought overall it was well written and enjoyable. If you are looking for some interesting facts and myths on the penis this is the book for you.

The increasing girth of Kirstie Alley's rear end has figured prominently (pun intended) on many a tabloid cover in recent years. At the peak of her career ("Cheers"), of course, her butt was indeed at its smallest. It's no surprise that she therefore sums up her life philosophy this way: one's level of happiness tends to be inversely proportional to the size of one's posterior.
With extremely salty language on par with what you might hear in a 50 Cent song, Alley has penned a self-deprecating Hollywood tell-all in the disguise of "note-to-self"-style diary entries. With many apologies to Bridget Jones, we learn that Alley is a former cocaine addict who once participated in the snorting of a six-foot-long trail of powder at a party. (She's says she's currently a Scientologist and credits L. Ron Hubbard with curing her of her narcotic addiction, as well as her issues with food.) We also learn--for better or worse--that she has the hots for John Travolta, Kid Rock, and Ben Affleck, and that she blames her weight gain for a super-extended period of unplanned celibacy.
As crass as she is (she kisses and tells, even including the sordid details of her losing her virginity in the front seat of a Chevy Impala), it's hard not to feel sympathetic for Alley. She admits that following a miscarriage in her third month of pregnancy and subsequent diagnosis of infertilitywhich were also broadcast in the tabloids--her weight started ballooning. And as much as she dishes about Hollywood actors such as Tim Matheson (of Animal House fame), she has the decency to leave Parker Stevenson, her ex-husband and father of their two adopted children, out of the gossiping. Even so, overall, this feels like a strangely extended endorsement of Dianetics. --Erica Jorgensen
Book Description
If anyone in Hollywood knows about weight obsession, it's Kirstie Alley. After she rose to fame on Cheers as the svelte and gorgeous Rebecca Howe, she watched as the tabloids mercilessly charted her fluctuating weight. Well, look out, Hollywood, because this beloved star is ready to strike back-with a starring role in a new, unscripted com-edy series on Showtime called Fat Actress. She plays a fictionalized version of herself as she searches for work and love in the land of glitter and glamour. The show, which prompted a huge media buzz when Showtime announced plans for it, premieres just as this witty and wry new book hits bookstores across the nation.

The real Kirstie.......2007-08-31
"What you see is what you get" with Kirstie Alley! This quick-read will make you laugh and realize that, celebrity or not, we all face the same dilemmas. I very much appreciated Kirstie's candor - she is real, down-to-earth gal!
good reading if you like Kirstie.......2007-08-23
Cute, just as Kirstie. There is no diet information in this book. Just Kirstie accepting her size. It was good and I enjoyed it. I think acceptance is what this book is about.
A funny little book with a misleading title.......2007-02-04
Kirstie Alley's How to Lose Your Butt and Regain Your Life is in no way shape or form a diet book. It's not really a story about how Kirstie regained her life, unless you count her thinly-veiled stories of how Scientology changed her life as inspirational. No, it's more a joke book, a humorous piece of nonfiction, a collection of stories from her past complete with photographs. And it's funny. Hilarious, occasionally, and her self-deprecating humor and ability to acknowledge her fall from grace is interesting to read.
Written in the form of a diary followed by a story from the past, Kirstie tells her readers about everything from her numerous failed diet attempts (the Master Cleanse, the grapefruit and boiled egg diet, strange herbal laxatives that once made her poop her pants), the boys who taunted her during her childhood and her hopes that they eventually got what they deserved, and how her children kept her grounded even as she read about her escalating weight in the tabloids.
Her story is every woman's story who has ever struggled with her weight, because for the most part she makes no reference to her years as a famous actress. We hear about her going to auditions and the fact that she might be on set during a particular entry, but as a whole it's more about her life, her feelings, and her struggles. The fact that she can laugh at herself and be so down-to-earth is one of the best parts of this story.
So despite the misnomer that is the title, HTLYARYL is a funny little book that will make you feel a little bit better when your favorite jeans get too tight. After all, at least no one's printing a picture of you in the tabloids claiming you weigh 300 pounds.
Funny but too short.......2007-01-14
Kirstie gives up snippets from her life that are totally funny. However she skips a lot. Was she ever married, why did they divorce? Is her son really named True or is that a nickname? You can't give us all these intimidate details about your sex life and popping in your car then leave out important events in your life. She doesn't tell the story in chronological order so it wasn't even clear she had kids until the very end of the book.
While I enjoyed the book and thought Kirstie to be someone fun to hang out with, I lost respect for her when she talked about Scientology. I felt like her little mentions of this Scientology event she went to or that was like advertising. Why do we need to know you had an awakening at one unless it's subtle advertising? I guess that's why she's such close friends with John Travolta. Still I thought her smarter than that to join a cult.
Misleading title & disappointing read.......2006-08-15
I was very disappointed with this book. Perhaps it was because I hoped Kirstie would discuss her Jenny Craig experience more, give some insight into her personal struggle and provide tips for struggling with significant weight loss based on her experiences. Instead, she jumped from topic to topic, focused more on her drug addiction history and sex life and barely skimmed the surface of the weight issue. Although her wonderful wit was apparent throughout, the book was poorly written and difficult to follow. If you're looking only for Kirstie's unique type of humor, you may really enjoy it. However, if you're more interested in finding some self-help tips or empathy for the struggles of the obese, forget it because you won't find anything in this one.

Book Description
In this book, one of the leading social theorists and cultural commentators of modern times, turns his gaze on consumption. George Ritzer, author of the famous McDonaldization Thesis, demonstrates the irrational consequences of the rational desire to consume and commodify. He examines how McDonaldization might be resisted, and situates the reader in the new cultural spaces that are emerging in society: shopping malls, casino hotels, Disneyfied theme parks and Las Vegas, the new `cathedrals of consumption' as he calls them. The book shows how new processes of consumption relate to globalization theory. In illuminating discussions of the work of Thorstein Veblen and the French situationists, Ritzer unearths the roots of problems of consumption in older sociological traditions. He indicates how transgression is bound up with consumption, through an investigation of the obscene in popular and postmodern culture.

Most Helpful Guide!!.......2002-04-30
When I got Oracle of seasons for my B-Day, after 8 straight hours of playing, I was on level 2. So, I went out and bought this guide. No, it isn't a "cheater's guide", but a helpful walk through. I haven't found the need to get any others, and from what I've heard, this is the best.It has very clear, detailed instructions, and a picture for every caption! And, as if that wasn't enough, in the back, there's a chart, listing every item you can receive, and it's purpose (the same goes for rings). There are also colorful, detailed maps in the back, there's even a map of Subrosia. This is definatly the most helpful guide for the oracle series. (If I hadn't bought this, I'd still be wandering around in the Level 2 dungeon)
Serious Errors in the Ages Section.......2002-02-10
I can only speak about the AGES guide. I found serious errors and mis-information starting at level 6. There are things omitted, erroneous, or out of sequence that leave you high and dry in the game. This also happened at level 7. (I have not yet moved to level 8.) I had to rely on web site guides to get me out of trouble. Use caution with this book! If you don't have access to other guides or friends who played the game, don't buy it for the AGES game. I don't know about any other guide books since this is the one I picked based on the other reviews. (I wonder if the other reviews are bogus! You can't finish the game with these errors!)
Best book out there for strategy.......2001-11-25
i have had bought my share of strategy guides in the past, but this one is the most usefull and helpful one out there!
Better of the two guides.......2001-08-29
If you should get this book, first try to find the lowest price you can. I myself have used this book so many times it's starting to look ancient. Of the two versions of guidebooks for the Zelda Oracle series, it is definitely the best. It is perfect for the Gameboy game. It has plenty of illustrations and hints. It has maps of every dungeon, season, and age. It is definitely the better of the two.
Good guide to two good games.......2001-07-12
This guide provides a lot of help with the game and a wonderful walkthrough to each game. The explanations in the guide are very helpful, however the one thing I didn't like is there aren't any side areas. For example, a seperate section showing where to find each heart container would've been nice. But otherwise this is a very good guide. I can't compare it to the other guides, but this seems to be the popular one.

Prima drops the ball.......2004-05-25
I must say that I've been playing Zelda games since 1987 when the first one was released. I've been using Prima guides for Zelda games since the first book came out in the early 90s covering "A Link to the Past". Since then I've been using Prima Guides ever since after beating the Zelda games at least once in order to find the secrets I just couldn't find prior, and I have always found Prima to be the BEST at making guides, particularly for Zelda games. In fact, I can categorically say that their guide "Link's Awakening DX" is one of the best ever released for any game in the industry.
Now I am faced with two very recent exceptions. One is their guide for "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker", and the other is this guide. In fact, this guide isn't just bad for Prima, it is possibly the worst Zelda guide I have ever tried to use.
As mentioned I had already beaten the games, each twice: Once starting with Oracle of Seasons, and then linking to Oracle of Ages, and then once starting with Oracle of Ages, and linking to Oracle of Seasons. Yet even after beating these games, and knowing most of the secrets and details of both of them, I found this guide EXTREMELY confusing. I couldn't easily map my experience to the guide's content, and often found it in error. It was difficult to view the maps, as they were very small, and usually sectioned off with little context. The details of game play were simply not instructive (or even comparable) to direct game play. The best thing about it was the cartoons, but that is the most cosmetic and least instructive thing about the whole guide.
I suggest skipping this guide altogether. Heck, even the Nintendo Power guide was better than this one. I won't be giving up on Prima, but I hope this latest trend doesn't continue.
Ummm.........2002-12-23
its a good guide. I think i could have managed w/o it though.
Too confusing.......2002-11-25
I was disappointed in this book. It's too much page flipping. If you don't do EXACTLY what the book says, you get totally lost!!! I quit playing the game early out of frustration. That's just me. OH well.. if you decide to buy this, have patience...
I STINKS MAN!!!.......2002-10-11
This book is the WORST zelda book EVER!!! The map are so tiny! I need a microscope to see the it! It make me and my friends so confused! I would suggest to get The Lengend of Zelda oracle of Ages&Seasons from Versus Books.
Could be WAY better.......2002-06-15
I'll list the pros and cons of this book one after the other; hopefully it's not too confusing...
Pros:
A great enemy list!
Okay boss strategies
Only guide so far to use coordinates (I find that fact surprising; the Zelda games are THE games to use coordinates with!)
Has an okay section about passwords
Nice cartoons
Cons:
Maps are TINY, boundaries not well marked, does not show inside of houses
Screenshots are small and blurry
Walkthrough is confusing; it might say something like, "In the next room, push the block and open the chest. In the next room, use the key," and it doesn't give details on WHICH keyhole to use the key on, and WHICH room is the "next" one. The could have used coordinates to their advantage way better than they did
The whole thing is somewhat monotonous
Cartoons, while cool, are VERY distracting. They are just plopped down anywhere; you might be in a section when you're encountering Zoras, and right there is a picture of a Goron!
Some AWFUL typos; it got me all confused about the Harp of Ages. It said that the Tune Of Currents made a temporrary Time Portal, that the Tune of Ages activated Time Portals, and that the Tune of Echoes gave you tital freedom to travel in time. Then it said that you wouldn't get the ToC until later on in the game. The real scoop on the Harp is this: The Tune of Echoes (the frist tune you get) activates Time Portals; the Tune of Currents (the second tune you get) lets you move from the past to the present (it does create a temporary Time Portal, but that's not it's main purpose) and the Tune of Ages lets you go from Past to Present and Present to Past. Those typos really got me mixed up.
Overall, this guide seemed like it was carelessely slapped together, and though it has some stuff you won't find in the Versus Guide, it has a lot more stuff that Versus does WAY better in.

Not for the beginner.......2007-06-08
I am new to any Photoshop version and this book is not for the beginner. This book leaves out too many important things that you need to know, and understand in order to use Photoshop. There are parts of the book where the picture examples don't even match up with the lessons. I can't believe these other peoples reviews, they must be friends with the author. Don't waste your money. Not recommended. Student at Kennesaw State University.
Great information, concise and to the point.......2007-05-18
This book was a requirement for a class that I took. Of all of the books we used for different topics, this was my favorite. It covers numerous topics, and does so in a "short, sweet, and to the point" manner. If you need lengthy explanations of topics, or are VERY new to any type of graphics program, this book may not be the best for you, as it covers an entire topic in a page or two. If you have experience or can catch on to new topics quickly and with ease, the book is perfect for you.
Each topic has an explanation that tells you what you are about to do. There is a side bar that gives you numbered steps on how to complete the task, accompanied by actual pictures and screen shots with numbers that point to what to click on.
Great book if dislike books that are lengthy in explanation and lack pictures. Perfect if you need a book to reference for topics only. Can also be very fast reading if you are trying to learn the software.
Great Guide.......2006-11-12
Great service by Amazon to list such good titles for purchase through the website. The book was not only good, but the CD (which was supplied separately for a nominal postage charge), was really useful. Presentation is neat and Options in all Menus and sub-menus, clearly set out. Serves also as a good reference guide at any time.Higly recommended. I am sure that any person who buys this product will not regret the decision.
Quick Reference with in depth information!.......2006-03-04
I researched various Photoshop CS2 instruction books through digtal photographers and photo forums and this is an excellent choice. I have found information in this book that I could not quickly find (needed the information for a project) in two other top rated Photoshop books. I know that I will reference this book often. Easy to use, quick, with color coded page edges and an actual index that leads to the information you need. Well written for those of us who are actuall photographers, and computer users, but new to Photoshop.
If I could only have two books on Photoshop CS2 I would get On Demand and PhotoshopCS2 One on One by Deke McClelland, one for quick reference with some instruction and one for full instruction. Both Excellent. Actually, the Photoshop CS2 On Demand was the first book that I bought. I have been borrowing One on One.
If you're an old 35mm user like me switching to digital, then Perfect Digital Photography (by Dickman & Kinghorn) is excellent with almost half of the book being dedicated to image processing.
I rated this book 5 stars because it is what it claims to be, On Demand instuction, with enough information to help you do the job without the need to read a large section of the book.
Really Great Read.......2005-11-12
I really love the way this book breaks down a complicated application and gives me ways to use it in the "real" world. I get so tired of Photoshop books that promise to get me "up and running" and then proceed to show me things that are cool, but that no one would ever use. The author seems to understand how to the relate to the real world, and he's given me a lot of ideas on how I can use this application... I would recommend it to any beginners, intermediate users, or anyone just wanting to think outside the box.
