What I liked best about Maynard Rolston's approach is the simple and straightforward methods he advocates. Rather than long and lengthly chapters about why we need to get better organized, he cuts right to the chase. I was able to start implementing these techniques in less than 24 hours! Many of the other programs in other books I considered would have taken me weeks to implement. Within the first week of using this program, I started going home two hours earlier than usual. I even got to eat dinner with my family again. Now I need to get my secretary her own copy.

How Time Management Changed My Life.......2005-12-21

Before reading I was always two days behind schedule. After reading the book, I am now on schedule, or in many instances actually 2-3 hours ahead of schedule. The reason for this is that the book taught me how to delegate my work. To be precise, I am able to concentrate on those tasks that require my attention while delegating other tasks to three volunteers. This not only allows me to complete a heavier work load, but I am also able to provide better care to my patients. In closing, this book has taught me how to work smarter and more effectively and has helped to reduce stress in my life. I look forward to the sequel. Lord only knows that I still have room for improvement.

Recycled Cliches with Annoying "Conversation" Theme.......2005-12-07

If you know nothing about time management and have absolutely no control over your life, then this book is a great start. However, if you've been in the working world and had to make deadlines, you already know everything here.

I didn't find anything new in the book. These are the same techniques presented in virtually every beginner time-management book or course. The only thing clever here is the book's name. There's nothing wrong with the techniques (other than it is extremely basic), I just found the title misleading. It and the associated reviews imply that the author has found some sort of amazing new solution to time management. Nothing is new -- it's simply recycled.

The flow of the book is a "conversation" between the author and a hypothetical client. Personally, I found this annoying. What could be said in one paragraph spans an entire chapter as the author and his client read their respective dialog. This format has the advantage of increasing the number of pages, but doesn't add content.

I would suggest reading "The 7-Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey. Instead of spending time on how to set up a 31-day filing cabinet, Covey focuses on what consumes time, how to prioritize it and what to forgo.

Another route is to attend a local Time Management class. It might cost a few dollars more, but it will likely cover much a greater span of material (including the Covey's 7-Habits) and you'll benefit from the interaction with a live instructor.

Small to big; this one works.......2004-06-21

Maynard Rolston's book is a must-read. Even in today's email/voicemail/PDA/cellular world, some basics never change: take action, delegate or trash -- and if action is needed -- prioritize!

While I mostly work on small to medium sized projects as a consultant, the work habits Maynard promotes can help any person in any sized business. And the way to handle meetings, delegate, schedule and priortize can apply in a consultant-client relationship just as well as between employees.

My desk top (both real and virtual) will be getting cleaner and more efficient.

Maynard Rolston provides some great common sense organizational strategies to help you increase your productivity and save you time. It's an easy-to-read, enjoyable book that will help reduce your stress level. As a writer, small publisher and author of There Is Eternal Life For Animals, I can use all the help I can get to make the most of my time and become more efficient.

Marquis De Sade, lite.......2003-07-20

This was an excellent collection of some of De Sade's shorter works. The stories are quite funny and nice for a lite reading of Sade. I highly recommend this to those who dare not venture into some of his other more explicit works, but also to those who are looking to round out their Sade readings.

If you like this, or if you found it too mild, i highly recommend the 120 Days of Sodom and Justine, both fantastic books.

the book is kinda boring if you've already read his more explicit novels.i started out w/juliette,so the mytified magisrtate is vanilla compared to hi other novels,but for those who just want a peek,i recommend this book to the fulliest.but for those who want ot jump feet first into sadism,read the 120 days of sodom.

Yes, Marquis, Dat's da Way I Like It........2002-07-31

Yes, I've read "Justine" and "Juliette" and a plethora of other de Sade odds and ends, but this collection was true enjoyment. I think Donatien should have kept to short stories; these tales are priceless, devoid of the boring repitition of his novels; and ripe with evidence of self-supressed talent. I was mystified as to why he didn't apply this flare in "Justine" and "Juliette". A real shame, le Marquis.

A Wonderful Book.......2002-06-03

This is a fantastic collection of short stories. "Fraternal Cruelty," was probably my favorite "dramatic" story in the collection, and looks like it could be the basis for an Academy Award winning short film. "Love's Strategy," was interesting, I guess, and "The Teacher's Philosopher," was another strange one. "The Gascon Wit," was hilarious. These stories are for the most part easy to read, very funny, very dramatic, and at times exhilarating.

De Sade is not for the weak of heart.......2001-07-06

Although the Marquis De Sade was harshly judged for his works, people of this day and time shoud have more of an open mind. Napoleon burned De Sades books in outrage, and although our consitution is based on the Napoleonic code....we have freedom a speech and press. All of De Sade's writings can be taken librally but one does need an open mind. This book is sexually explicit as are practically all of his writings. But for those with a open mind....and no children looking over their shoulder, it is a wonderful read.

Description:
The South Nation River Watershed, in eastern Ontario, Canada, is an agricultural watershed impacted by excess nutrient loading primarily from agricultural activities. A constructed wetland for the treatment of agricultural wastewater from a 150-cow dairy operation in this watershed was monitored in its eighth operating season to evaluate the proportion of total nitrogen (TN) (approximated by total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) due to low NO"3^-) and total phosphorus (TP) removal that could be attributed to storage in Typha latifolia L. and Typha angustifolia L., which dominate this system. Nutrient loading rates were high, with 16.2kgha^-^1d^-^1N and 3.4kgha^-^1d^-^1P entering the wetland and loading the first wetland cell. Plant uptake accounted for 0.7% of TKN removal when the vegetated free water surface cells were considered together. However, separately, in the second wetland cell with lower N and P loading rates, plants accounted for 9% of TKN, 21% of NH"4^+ and 5% of TP removal. Plant uptake was significant to overall removal given wetland age and nutrient loading. Nutrient storage during the growing season at this constructed wetland helped reduce the nutrient load entering the watershed, already stressed by intensive local agriculture.

This books is hard to read because of the extensive and monotonous writing in addition to lacking variety of examples.

I took a semester of Hydrology Design, taught by Dr. Mc Cuen himself, in which he had to complement the lectures with numerous handouts with graphs, formulas, examples, and procedures that are not available in this textbook.

You would be better off checking your University's Library database for other authors rather than purchasing this textbook.

Excellent Hydrology Book.......2000-06-22

I seem to refer to this book over and over. I am always searching for answers and this book seems to have them all! I am a water resources engineer and feel that this book is well organized, applicable to real engineering problems, easy to read, and well indexed.
