I initially bought this book for my husband, who was having a difficult time at work with his boss. My husband has huge praises for the book and now that I have finished reading it, I've come to understand why. Arthur and Dayle have managed to consolidate and present strategies on how to deal with difficult people in a handy and easy-to-read book. Even if you don't find time to read, you can easily read some pages on the way to work in the train. A questionaire helps you to identify what type of person you are, and explains the different personality types, helping you to see why yome people react in certain ways. You will realise eventually why you seem to always clash with a certain personality group. This book gives you tips on how you can handle 'difficult' people and helps you to have a clearer picture of yourself. For all you know you may be the S.O.P. Excellent Coverage of Small Business Financing.......2007-09-27

This book provides a wealth of practical information about financing an early-stage business. It begins with a discussion of the various legal forms of entities, goes on to cover debt and equity financing techniques, introduces helpful approaches to valuation (not found in too many other books targeted to the early-stage entrepreneur), and then discusses exit strategies. There are also several helpful case studies, a sample term sheet, etc. I'd recommend this book as a great introduction to the subject of small business finance, and as a helpful guide to anyone seeking to raise money (with a competent business attorney by your side) from angel or venture capital sources.

Transnational organized crime poses one of the most serious threats to international security in the 1990s. Its significance was marked by the World Ministerial Conference on transnational organized crime held in Naples in November 1994. As a student, I used this book in both undergraduate and graduate study. It presented the theory and pratical design of hydrology, erosion/sediment control and various other topics in a straight forward manner. Higher mathematics are only presented in order to explain rationale behind theory. The material presented is the result of years of research by the foremost authorities in sediment & erosion control. The methods and designs are presently state-of-the-art. Furthermore, as an engineer, I find this book an invaluable reference in my library and refer to it on a regular basis.

Coronary blood flow is blood flow to the heart for its own metabolic needs. In the most common form of heart disease there is a disruption in this flow because of obstructive disease in the vessels that carry the flow. The subject of coronary blood flow is therefore associated mostly with the pathophysiology of this disease, rarely with dynamics or physics. Yet, the system responsible for coronary blood flow, namely the "coronary circulation", is a highly sophisticated dynamical system in which the dynamics and physics of the flow are as important as the integrity of the conducting vessels. While an obstruction in the conducting vessels is a fairly obvious and clearly visible cause of disruption in coronary blood flow, any discord in the complex dynamics of the system can cause an equally grave, though less conspicuous, disruption in the flow.

This book is devoted to the dynamics and physics of coronary blood flow. While it recognizes the range of clinical and pathophysiological issues involved, the book focuses on dynamics and physics, approaching the subject from a biomedical engineering viewpoint. With this approach, the book will complement other books on the subject that have so far focused largely on clinical and pathophysiological issues.

The author, originally trained in fluid dynamics, has been teaching and working on the dynamics of blood flow in general and coronary blood flow in particular for the past thirty years and has produced a book that will appeal to physicians, physicists and engineers.

Zuleika Dobson must be one of the strangest books ever written. Beerbohm's ornate prose cloaks a bizarre story that, while it starts innocently enough, marches toward its surreal fate with the same determination as the Oxford undergraduates it depicts.

But that isn't to say it isn't a marvelous satire. Beerbohm caricatures immature love by pitting a mysteriously alluring woman, Zuleika, who loves no man foolish enough to love her, against a pretentious nobleman known only as The Duke, who never thought himself capable of loving anyone but himself. Somehow, the author manages to tell their perverse story even as he reveals himself to be the servant of the Greek muse Clio; and the work loses nothing as it spirals into a comic fairy-tale featuring cameos by animated statues, supernatural apparitions--even Beerbohm himself!

This particular edition is (at least as of right now) my favorite. It is wonderfully printed, and the text is peppered with Beerbohm's original illustrations. He never meant to include them in the book, but they seem only fitting in a work that refuses to be categorized as a serious novel, or a typical satire, or a children's fairy-tale. Strongly recommended for serious readers with senses of humor who aren't disturbed by unexpected flights of fancy.
