The Philippines play a major role in expanding the international Filipino community through its promotion of international labor migration-Filipinos can currently be found in over 130 countries throughout the world. As the first major work to conceive of Filipino immigration as a diaspora, this study analyses the diasporic nature of Filipino relations, identities, and communities and shows how these transnational phenomena are socially constructed by the everyday actions and activities of Filipino Americans. Instead of focusing on an ethnic minority and its relation to its host society, a diasporic perspective places emphasis on the transnational relations created and maintained among that minority, its homeland, and other diasporic communities. Transnational ties are evident in the movement of people, money, consumer goods, information, and ideas.
Diaspora represents a new and fluid conceptual image quite apart from the usual coordinates based on physical location, territory, and distance. Transnational relations and practices will continue to be an increasingly important dimension of the Filipino American community because of the ongoing family-based immigration from the Philippines, further technological advances in communication and transportation, the expansion of transnational capital, and continuing racism and discrimination, all of which have made it necessary for Filipinos in the United States, the Philippines, and throughout the world to create and maintain diasporic lives and culture.

+AH4-Allthough this certainly isnt my favorite design book of the year, i think its a fairly good purchase if you are interested in "dirty" graphic design material. Both the strength and weakness of the book lies in the decision to show the graphic material in its raw condition. before it is collected, digested and ends up as a designed product. This is to say that if you are looking for some real design works, like cd packagings, book sleeves and posters- forget about it. But theres a lot of+AH4-+AH4- nice things inside though, like some really cool grafiti works and wonderfull illustrations- but no design. +AOoAfg-

theres some really amazing work in here, the stuff by Delta, and She One is fantastic! Theres also some so-so work in here but overall a great fusion of graf, design, and fine art. Inspirational pages you just can't take your eyes off of. This is where graf is headed... definitely worth the money

Complex levels, challenging tricks and very very diverse in overall gaming experience or opportunities here. Much better than the x-rated version of this game. This will be a classic for a long time and much kudos to its makers for being as thoughtful as they were in its creation!

Useful...but not a walkthrough........2001-10-17

I bought this strategy guide assuming it would contain walkthroughs of every level and strategies for each level. However, this book does not truly contain walkthroughs. Sure it tells you where the items are and a helpful little snippet for each proquest stunt (its in the back of the book not with the level maps), but it is still far from a walkthrough. Also the maps don't look very professional and neither does the layout of the book. However, it does have its strong points and did show me how to get all the gaps. But it is not the most useful book ever.

Hint (not in book): The strat guide does not tell you the cheap way to get off 4-100 trick combo's. Simply do a nose manual, and then jump (x button) and then do another nose manual before you land. Rinse and repeat as wanted and you've got a cheap combo.

Great for Novice.......2004-11-18

I just took a job where I need to know Word and Excel backward and forwards. I thought I knew Word before but quickly found out it could do a lot more than I'd ever dreamed and I needed a good reference. I choose these books (I puchased the companion Excel 2002 book also) for both the color diagrams, examples and clear, non-confusing way it is written. Even if you thought you knew Word 2002 it is worth the price of admission to see all the fabulous features you can utilize to make your document a work of art.
