Great job!.......2003-08-06
This book has helped me obtain my last two jobs! I applied for an internship about a year ago and received the job. I recently graduated from college and sent out applications for full-time employment. I sent out eight resumes and applications, and was called back on 7 of them. Ultimately, I was able to obtain the job I wanted with the company I wanted. I believe in this book and it will help you out a lot! Highly recommended. Buy your copy now because I won't give mine out to anybody! It's that good!
AMAZING!.......2002-09-05
Thank you, Walt, for writing this book. I could have spend hundreds of dollars having someone write my resume, but Walt's book helped me do the same quality work. It is easy to follow and understand and can help ANYONE in their job search.
THIS BOOK WORKS!!! I re-wrote my resume and the first company I sent it to called me for an interview! Plus, I was ready for the interview because the questions Walt lists in the back of the book helped me prepare and nail the job!!!
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, WALT--EVERYONE SHOULD BE SO KNOWLEDGEABLE!!!
Finding A Job Just Got A Lot Easier by Walt Schuette.......2002-08-09
This book really lives up to it's name!
Walt's quick and easy 4 step job search couldn't be simpler.
His "country-boy common sense" guidance gives me a feeling of
comfort in changing careers, and an understanding that age is
an issue only if I let it be.
In his book Walt tells the story of a retiree having to
return to the workplace. He helped that 83-year old get a job, and I'm confident his advice can help me too!
This book's a keeper.
Finding a Job Just Got a Lot Easier.......2002-07-31
This book gives professional and complete guidelines to follow when doing your own resume. Also the simplicity of the steps helps you to have complete confidence in editing your own resume. The professionalism of this book shows Walt's concern about people's needs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the author for writing this book because it gave me self-confidence in writing my own resume.
Cordially,
Carroll Casey

Book Description
"Constructing Early Childhood Science" focuses on teaching children how to actively engage in the scientific process, rather than learn about it passively. Each chapter begins with at least one hands-on activity, designed to help young science students begin to construct their conceptualizations. The activities include references to nearly 150 different children's literature titles; a feature designed to assist teachers in developing an interdisciplinary approach to instruction. Recurrent themes in the book include ways of utilizing technology, teaching multicultural populations, interdisciplinary approaches and involving parents and the community in the science program. Thoroughly researched, this manual cites the most contemporary publications on each topic.

Every Groom Should Read This Book.......2007-01-26
When I got engaged, an unanticipated array of social custom and expectation confronted me. This book helped me navigate the process, and deal with the potential challenges of such details as:
1. Familial expectations (hers and yours) - Who are you going to have in the wedding? Where/when is the wedding? Who is invited? What kind of ceremony, music, decorations, etc? Are there any "family traditions" you ignore at your peril? Where/what is the reception? What kind of food/drinks? Who pays what? How do you manage getting along with your new in-laws?
2. Wedding minutia - invitation stationery, church/reception locations/menus/decorations/catering, logistics, photographer, tuxedo rentals, honeymoon planning and travel arrangements, etc. Who are the "workers" who are going to set it all up at the church, reception hall, etc. If you hire a wedding planner, what will they do/not do for you? What's your backup plan if something falls through at the last minute?
3. Moving from "you and me" to "us" - deciding on living arrangements (whose place, or a new place?), household dishware and furnishings, understanding the social customs of bridal showers, wedding gifts, etc. Also such simple things as getting used to living with a new person's personal habits, etc.
4. Understanding how heavily-charged the whole milieu of the "wedding day" is for most women, and the general reality that grooms take a backseat in the planning of "her" perfect day that she's dreamed about all her life.
The book also has good advice for the distinctly "male" aspects of the process, such as dealing with second thoughts, wisecracking unmarried male friends chastising you about losing your "freedom," the potential minefield of bachelor parties, "old flames", college buddies expecting to be included, etc. The tone is like hearing advice from a good buddy who's already experienced it all and understands what you're going through. It's a quick and easy read, with amusing pictures that help maintain a light-hearted tone.
Above all, the book helps remind you to have a proper perspective about all the superficial details in order to "keep your eyes on the prize," that special lady you love, and the future you're starting together.
Whenever one of my friends gets engaged, I give them this book.
Useful. Funny. Just the right length........2003-08-29
No one book can tell you everything you'll need to know about being a groom. But, if you're like me and know (knew) nothing this one has a good amount of truly helpful info that you can actually use.
And this book is --thank God-- funny and pretty short (so we men with our short attention spans can actually get through it).
If you want a chatty wedding book with lots of details about flowers, colours, etc., get a book aimed at brides. If you take the view that to a surprisingly large extent grooms are just elaborate wrist decoration for brides on THEIR day, this book gives enough genuinely useful information to make it well worth getting.
If you know nothing about all this wedding stuff, I can assure you this book really helped me and can help you. So, I highly recommend it.
Save your money - you'll need it.......2003-05-15
I (the groom) bought this book because we were having difficulty deciding on a number of things for our wedding. I was immensely disappointed to find the book lacking utterly in anything truly helpful, anything new (you know all this stuff already), and I didn't laugh once. I also found it condescending, like the verbal pat-on-the-head our wedding planner gave me when I expressed an opinion (we fired her.)
Save your money - after you're married you'll need every penny.
Okay for fun, really already known information.......2003-04-11
This book is a humerous way to keep the nervous groom occupied. It's take on everything from choosing a ring to planning the big event are laid out in a easy to understand, fun format.
Though this book is informative and fun, a lot of the information is really already known to the saavy groom to be. This book was helpful for an occasional resourece, and to keep me occupied. My wife wouldn't let me do anything that had to do with the planning of the wedding, so at least by reading this book I felt involved.
For unserious grooms.......2002-07-30
This book does not give advice on how to help the bride, it makes fun of the whole wedding planning experience, and tells the groom what not to do, and this is not helpful. Whoever thinks that this book is written for a groom that wants to help, is kidding themselves.

Customer Reviews:
The book's title says it all.......2006-12-15
This book is a fast and easy way to learn Adobe Acrobat 7. Although a short book, at about 240 pages, it still covers many different topics such as handling commenting, working with forms and adding interactivity. Each lesson is divided into several short sections, with each including detailed steps and numerous screen shots. Much of the detail, including any extra information, is provided in the "Tips", "Key Terms" and "Notes" tidbits found in or around the margin areas. The book also uses "See Also" tidbits to provide page numbers to related topics. This makes it simple to navigate and find topics. In the end, this book is a good reference as well as a quick guide.
Like many other books, this one could have used a bit more editing as well. Occasionally, a minor step, a little information or even a word was missing. Such as neglecting to mention that an extra dialog box sometimes appears before the first one described in the steps. Also, from time to time the menu names were slightly different. For example: "Print with Comments Summary" instead of the book stated "Print Document with Comments Summary." Although I was using Acrobat 7, perhaps the book still had a few references to an older version. I am not certain, but this could have explained why the dialog boxes, steps and even menu names differed on occasion. Finally, the last issue with this book was that some of the steps were not very clear at times. However, the screen shots usually helped to clear up any uncertainty or confusion.
A few practice files would have helped for those who read the lessons in sequence as I did. However, I did not expect the deep coverage or extras that a longer book might have included. For a book of this size, it provides plenty of material and at a low price. As the name implies this is definitely a good way to learn Adobe Acrobat 7 in a Snap.

Acrobat made easy.......2006-05-11
Set out in steps that are easy to follow. Learn how to insert links to other pages, make better use of multimedia content, and add security to your important documents and articles. Acrobat is a very flexible programme and this book makes it easy to learn with clear instructions. Well worth the money.
Adobe Acrobat 7 in a Snap.......2006-03-06
Acrobat 7 has at least seven areas that are either new or significantly changed from Acrobat 6.
One of the biggest changes is Acrobat 7 is the creation of Acrobat Designer. This gives one the ability to design and create a PDF form completely within Acrobat. This enhancement is not available for Mac users, only windows users. However, this shouldn't be a show stopper - just create the form in Word or some other program, use the Acrobat distiller to convert it to a pdf file and then use the instructions from "Acrobat 7 In a Snap" to insert it into your pdf document.
Another impressive advance is Reader 7 that now allows document review of documents for those who do not have Acrobat but only Acrobat Reader 7. If Acrobat 7 Professional prepared the document then Reader 7 now allows the Reader 7 user to add comments. Another neat tool added is the Organizer. This allows you to easily locate and manage al the PDF files on your hard drive. The list goes on but what is really important to note is "Acrobat 7 in a Snap" takes you by the hand and walks you through these new powers in a manner that allows you to immediately take advantages of all the new enhancements as well as the old standby powers of Acrobat.
The first impression of this book can be very deceiving. It is approximately 9X8 and about a 1/2 inch thick. It looks so small but I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered it had 213 pages, not counting the index and table of contents, that articulated many of the extraordinary powers Acrobat 7 has to offer. What is really impressive is the content. Ms Nakano doesn't just fill in space but covers 80 different tasks that all who expect to utilize the power Acrobat 7 must know. The book does an exceptional job explaining the task, what it is suppose to do, and the necessary steps to accomplish the task. The book's layout is very intuitive. Each step is headed in bold, usually blue colors, if the task has special properties or powers then on the side bar "tips" are included. Then, to further assist the user, the author has screen shots of each window one sees as they process through the steps. In many programs this approach would not be useful for a Mac user but Acrobat's windows have the same feel and look for both the PC and Mac versions. If there is a negative in the author's process it is the screen shots are small, thus making it difficult to see clearly or read the various screen shots. However, when you compare the screen shots to the actual screen that you bring up on your computer for the task in question you can decipher enough to develop a feel for what you need to do.
If you need a quick reference to accomplish Adobe Acrobat 7 task this is a great tool. Acrobat 7 has a different feel from Acrobat 6. and this book does an excellent job of walking one through steps to accomplish the task and thus making the switch from Acrobat 6 to 7 a little easier. You will not become a "power user" using this book but you will be able to competently execute many of the essential tasks Acrobat 7 makes available to the user.
Understanding and Using Acrobat 7 starts here! .......2005-05-29
This superbly crafted book is unrivaled as an intro and overview to Acrobat 7. It belongs on everyone's bookshelf who desires a rapid understanding and working knowledge of the product destined to play an important part in Internet communication and collaboration. Shari's writing is light, crystal clear and her topic organizational skills are exceptional bordering on the extraordinary. I can think of no other book where I learned so painlessly so much about a complex software package while simultaneously acquiring an 80 part essential skill set. Adobe does Acrobat customers an injustice by not including "Adobe Acrobat 7 in a Snap" in their retail package. At approximately $13 (Amazon Price) this book is a steal; I suggest you steal it.
Addendum: May I suggest you also consider Donna L. Baker's "Adobe Acrobat 7 in the Office" as a simultaneous or subsequent purchase? You'll glide through the 220 pages of "Snap" which will prepare you for Donna's challenging and thought provoking case studies. You'll be well on your way to becoming a consummate Adobe aerialist. Happy Landings!
This book is an effective learning tool........2005-02-14
A great deal has been changed in Acrobat from version 6 to version 7. These changes now allow you to treat PDF documents as dynamic entities that can be marked with secondary insertions such as comments, bookmarks and multimedia files. It is also possible to treat a PDF as a web page, where executable Javascript code can be inserted. PDF files can now also be used to create presentations, where the pages are treated as a sequence of slides. This book demonstrates these new features and is the fastest way I have seen to learn how to carry out these operations.
It is now possible to insert security features into PDF documents and many options are available. You are not limited to password protecting an entire file, it is also possible to password protect particular features of the file. There are several different security permissions available, where it is possible to allow different read/write permissions. A document can also be assigned a digital signature, and all of these options are easy to do.
Each of the steps is demonstrated in a series of sequential images that are easy to follow. A list of numbered textual segments accompanies the images. One feature that most people will really appreciate is the ability to preflight a PDF, where you can test your PDF against a set of rules. Acrobat has a set of 50 preset profiles that can be used, for example the document can be tested against rules for newspaper articles and ads.
In reading this book, it was clear to me that Adobe is poised to become the tool of choice for creating fundamental web content. Now that you can insert links to other pages, insert multimedia content, include Javascript, apply security features and include more accessibility features it is very powerful. This book is an effective learning tool, efficient and clear presentations make it well worth reading.
