into the first quarter of this century. The volume lists
hot prospects; such as,
- Secondary School Teachers

- Top Fashion Designers
- Cardiovascular technicians
- Cable TV technicians
Each job has a brief synopsis of the opportunities available
together with salary information and entry-level training
requirements and licenses. This book will assist you in
career planning and implementation at an appropriate level of
detail.
Don't judge a book by it's cover.......................2005-04-21
The previous reviewer didin't like the cover??????????? That's hardly a review. If you take the time to actually look inside the book, you will find some very good and helpful information!
Not with the times?.......1999-12-21
I'm very turned off by the book's cover. In this day and age, does everyone want to wear a suit to work and be a ladder-climber? The cover seems to me to be out of step with the times.

This was given to me as a bday gift by a band mate that knows I've been keeping my own list of jokes, but this is by far the most complete I've ever seen. Most of these I hadn't heard of, and I loved the quotes and the stories. Glad someone took the time to do this right!

Customer Reviews:
Motivation.......2006-07-24
"The struggle" has always been a mainstay that epitomizes the hip hop persona. Eminem is able to detail his struggle to make it (a.k.a. "the come up") in his book "Angry Blonde" through his descriptions of each of his songs off his first two albums and the complete lyrics to each song. His introduction paragraphs to each song are the best part of the book. These paragraphs reveal how he came up with the idea for the track, how he felt when he wrote it, and tell the reader a lot about the creative process.
Eminem's first two albums truly tell the story of the man; "The Slim Shady LP" when he was struggling just to get by and in "The Marshall Mathers LP" with his reaction to overnight celebrity. Two of the most successful albums of all-time (not just in hip hop history), these albums sold over 28 million records combined worldwide. To look into the mind of a man that could make music that would be heard by so many people and to read those words that so many heard is truly motivational. As an artist whose dream is to reach as many people as Eminem, his words and story are an inspiration and provide me with one of the driving forces behind my career.
:-):-).......2005-09-26
It's one thing to hear his music, but to read what's behind it makes us realize why he is the way he is and why he is one of the best in the game- a must-read.
nice.......2005-08-03
I went and bought this book and it was what i had expected it to be, very good but nothing excellent. It provides an excellent insight into what eminem was thinking and the circumstances surrounding him as to why he decided to write the songs and the songs beginnings. It's good because this is written by eminem in his own words and through his feelings. the pictures are a nice supplement and so are the extra freestyles that are provided at the end of the book. very good and an essentiality for all Eminem fans.
A True Artist.......2005-07-10
This is the only official book on Eminem out there. This is the reason it will always be important for Eminem fans and anyone else interested in learning about him. The misunderstandings, misinterpretations and unnessecary labeling has occured in the past because of people's lack of knowledge about this artist, therefore in this book you can find out about the real Marshall Mathers. Eminem represents a generation and his music will always be significant in popular culture and the way popular culture influences culture itself. Eminem has made a difference in a lot of people's lives and continues to be an influential figure in music. You can find a biography, analysis of lyrics from Eminem himself and other useful information. After reading this book you will be ensured (if you already were not) that Eminem is a true poet the intelligence behind the lyrics will leave you amazed and wanting more. I reccommend this book with all my heart. Enjoy :)
Dope book.......2004-09-06
I LOVE YOU EMINEM!! Thank you for this book!! You are brilliant, please keep going!! I'm hoping you'll make a book just like this about your Eminem Show album...this book is full of Marshall's thoughts behind his music...funny and from the heart.

Download Description
"Epic, ambitious, heartbreaking, and wholly original, T Cooper's Lipshitz Six, or Two Angry Blondes is a literary tour de force that spans the twentieth century with one family's search for a lost son. In Lipshitz Six, or Two Angry Blondes, author T Cooper chronicles the unusual history of the Lipshitz family, Jewish refugees who narrowly escape the bloody Russian pogroms of 1903. Upon landing at Ellis Island, Esther and Hersh Lipshitz lose their uncharacteristically blond-haired, blue-eyed son Reuven. Circumstances eventually force them to give up their fruitless search for Reuven and to join a relative living in the Texas panhandle. However, Esther never stops pondering the fate of her lost son, and when she sees a picture of the blond, blue-eyed Charles Lindbergh after his 1927 transatlantic flight, she becomes convinced that the aviator is her grown son Reuven. Esther's obsession with Lindbergh (Reuven) slowly destroys those around her and will leave far-reaching effects on the entire Lipshitz family. In 2002 in New York City, we encounter the character T Cooper, the last living Lipshitz, who has received an unsolicited box from his estranged mother. In it, he finds clippings and letters to Charles Lindbergh and his family, all once carefully preserved by his great-grandmother Esther. When he is forced back to Texas to bury his suddenly and tragically deceased parents, T finds himself the inheritor of a family history filled with loose ends, factual errors, and maniacal behavior. An ex-literary golden boy who has quit writing to pursue a career as a bar mitzvah entertainer who impersonates the rapper Eminem, T struggles to make sense of all that came before him and-in light of his wife's desire to have a baby-what legacy he might leave behind as well."
Customer Reviews:
a mess of a novel.......2007-03-30
i really wanted to like this book, especially after reading the glowing blurbs all over it and having it recommended to me by my favorite bookstore, but i found it to be a massive mess of a novel. it is basically two short stories and one novella posing as a unified work, and it does not flow well at all. the first 100 pages (one of the short stories) are brutal, and somewhat unnecessary. it would have worked better as a stand-alone work with more development and less violence. if you are a sensitive reader and you want to read this book, you truly can skip the first 100 pages and still get the gist of the next part (the novella). the details of a russian pogrom are not ones that you will easily forget.
i would have enjoyed the second section of the book--in fact if it had enormous potential to be developed by itself into a mature work had the author drawn out more of the other characters. i enjoyed this part of the work and would have like to have learned more about the characters from this period of esther's life. this part needed development.
the third part is a complete waste and absolutely destroys the flow of the book. there is so little connection to the previous 315 pages (aside from biology) that it disrupts any connection one may have felt previously. it definitely should have been a stand-alone work and would have been interesting as a short story, but instead it just sticks out like an indulgent literary exercise. and a badly written one at that.
overall this work reads like the author had three ideas for a work and couldn't decide which direction to go it, so all of them were used when two of them should have been discarded. do not waste your money on this.
enough horrors, already........2006-10-22
The writing's all right, for the first hundred pages or so, but the content was unrelentingly dismal so I left off. I don't really need to be shown in vivid detail what Russian bigots did to some poor Jewish girl, what a skull fracture looks & smells like, or what heartbroken women do to themselves with razors, or children, desperate to be liked, with whatever they can find. After a while I told myself, "If this character does X, I'm putting the book down," X being an obvious and ill-chosen action; he did, and I did.
A Worthy Read.......2006-07-04
This book should be read simply because Cooper knows how to tell a compelling story. Half way through, I found myself unable to put it down. The transition from third person historical narrative to first person, while abrupt, was pulled off deftly, and the latter part of the book was utterly convincing for me. Throw in moments of laugh-out-loud hilarity and authentic, moving scenes, and you have a richly entertaining tale. Highly recommended.
SOMEWHAT QUIRKY NONETHELESS INTRIGUING.......2006-06-14
This author's first book, Some of the Parts, established her as one who created strong voiced characters , and wove somewhat quirky nonetheless intriguing plots. She follows this pattern with her second novel - there's little self-effacing about Esther or T. Cooper.
Our story of the Lipshitz family begins with their escape from 1903 Russia and the cruel pogroms. Esther, Hersh and their four children gratefully arrive at Ellis Island only to discover that their son, Reuven, is nowhere to be found. They search all over New York City for their blond, blue-eyed son but are stymied at every turn. Finally, the family join a relative in Texas and establish a home in a place the most unlike Russia they've seen - the dusty panhandle of the
Lone Star State.
Esther continues to mourn the loss of her son, and when she sees a newspaper photo of Charles Lindbergh announcing his 1927 transatlantic flight she becomes convinced that he is her long lost son now grown and famous. She is so obsessed by this notion that she corresponds with the Lindbergh family and saves every scrap of news about the aviator.
Now, segue to New York City a half a century later and Esther's great-grandson, T. Cooper, a writer who is not doing much writing but earns his bread and butter by imitating Eminem at bar mitzvahs.
When Cooper's parents are killed in an auto accident he returns to Texas to make final arrangements, and it is there that he faces his strange family history.
Actor/musician Kirby Heyborne gives a notable reading to the Lipshitz saga, by turns imbuing it with dogged determination, consternation, and humor.
- Gail Cooke
Great read!.......2006-04-22
T Cooper manages to combine two very different (yet also quite
similar) stories with two very different voices into
one page-turning novel. Unique characters, combined
with a unique writing style make for a very
interesting, witty, and enjoyable read.

Business Process Execution Language for Web Services BPEL and BPEL4WS 2nd Edition
ASIN: 0596008430 |
Book Description
Ten years ago, groupware bundled with email and calendar applications helped track the flow of work from person to person within an organization. Workflow in today's enterprise means more monitoring and orchestrating massive systems. A new technology called Business Process Management, or BPM, helps software architects and developers design, code, run, administer, and monitor complex network-based business processes
BPM replaces those sketchy flowchart diagrams that business analysts draw on whiteboards with a precise model that uses standard graphical and XML representations, and an architecture that allows it converse with other services, systems, and users.
Sound complicated? It is. But it's downright frustrating when you have to search the Web for every little piece of information vital to the process. Essential Business Process Modeling gathers all the concepts, design, architecture, and standard specifications of BPM into one concise book, and offers hands-on examples that illustrate BPM's approach to process notation, execution, administration and monitoring.
Author Mike Havey demonstrates standard ways to code rigorous processes that are centerpieces of a service-oriented architecture (SOA), which defines how networks interact so that one can perform a service for the other. His book also shows how BPM complements enterprise application integration (EAI), a method for moving from older applications to new ones, and Enterprise Service BUS for integrating different web services, messaging, and XML technologies into a single network. BPM, he says, is to this collection of services what a conductor is to musicians in an orchestra: it coordinates their actions in the performance of a larger composition.
Essential Business Process Modeling teaches you how to develop examples of process-oriented applications using free tools that can be run on an average PC or laptop. You'll also learn about BPM design patterns and best practices, as well as some underlying theory. The best way to monitor processes within an enterprise is with BPM, and the best way to navigate BPM is with this valuable book.
Customer Reviews:
Good for understanding the technology and standards.......2007-05-12
This book is about Business Process Management, and its technical and standards sides. The book explains almost all the technical standards, who creates it and for what purpose.
So, I think the title of the book is not correct. I think it must be "Understanding the Business Process modelling technology and standards". With this title in mind I gave five stars. If you want to know what is BPM, BPEL, BPMN,BPML, WSDL, XLANG, WS-CDL, BPDM and other standards and want to know who creates it and why, buy this book.
People who search a "cookbook" for BPM wil be certainly disappointed.
Best Practice.......2006-07-31
Excellent combination of history, standards and methodolocical material related to BPM. On my wish list: a book of corresponding quality related to the business side of BPM.
what he says doesn't work does, what he says does doesn't.......2006-06-09
Gregor Hohpe should have read past the first 100 pages. This book is good on theory, poor on practice (does that remind you of any other SOA book?).
The examples Havey provides of "non-trivial" systems in the back are, in fact, quite trivial. What's worse is that when he ventures into the territory of "advanced" features, he gets lost. For example, on p.270, he provides an eventHandlers section, but comments it out saying that it doesn't work. I was able to get it to work as written with just a minor tweak, but he slags off the vendor instead (p.284) and proposes an awkward hack for a workaround (p.277). Then, on p.308, he presents us with a piece of parallelism that depends for its success on the use of a correlationSet. This is supposed to be clever, but is, in fact, just poor programming practice. Not only that, but it doesn't work! It can't possibly, not the way it's written. He just sent it off to the publisher without testing. We're not talking about simple syntax errors here... this is a fundamental conceptual flaw in what he's proposing. Pretty basic stuff for him to be stubbing his toe on.
Good attempt at covering a complex subject..........2006-03-27
Trying to document and model the business processes in your organization is an ever-changing target. There has been a lot of work in the industry lately to come up with a standard way to do that. Michael Havey attempts to cover that work in the book Essential Business Process Modeling.
Contents:
Part 1 - Concepts: Introduction to Business Process Modeling; Prescription For a Good BPM Architecture; The Scenic Tour of Process Theory; Process Design Patterns
Part 2 - Standards: Business Process Execution Language (BPEL); BPMI Standards - BPMN and BPML; The Workflow Management Coalition (WFMC); World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) - Choreography; Other BPM Models
Part 3 - Examples; Example - Human Workflow In Insurance Claims Processing; Example - Enterprise Message Broker; Key BPM Acronyms; Index
This isn't necessarily one of those subjects that sets my heart racing as a developer. There are a lot of acronyms and standards from different agencies all trying to interact and coordinate a very difficult subject. But I can appreciate the work that Havey has done in trying to tie together all this material into a single volume. I got the most out of the concepts section, as that's where I am in my experience/knowledge of BPM. Once you get beyond that level of understanding, the second part can add the details on the specific standards that come into play here. I also appreciate the real-life examples at the end, as it puts some flesh on the theoretical concepts.
Although not a book I'd pick up for an entertaining technical read, it does work well for its intended purpose.
BPM can be expressed in BPEL.......2006-03-17
As Web Services have grown in potential, the Web Services Description Language arose to describe them, as the name suggests. In turn, from this we have the Business Process Execution Language, which is better suited in which to write how to string together a bunch of Web Services. There have been books explaining, in part, how to use BPEL. But mostly from a syntactical viewpoint.
In contrast, Havey shows how to use BPEL in a top-down manner. The tenor of this book is that Business Process Modelling is conveniently expressed in BPEL. It may be easier to learn BPEL this way, given this motivation. The earlier books that include explanations of BPEL tend to use simpler business examples.
Also, quite aside from BPEL, Havey shows that BPM is a subject that has some theoretical rigour behind it. Not just high level concepts.
