THIS BOOK IS FOR EVERYONE.......2003-05-27

I want to start of by saying I am a student take electricity class. We got this book a few weeks ago. I thought it would be like any book. A book wrote to just get money. These book half the time doesn't make since. The person that wrote this book took the time to write in a way anyone can understand. This book is easy to follow, and has lots of pictures to help you understand. If you want to know alot about electricity or a little bit this is the book for you. I also like that the book follows the newest code 2002.

Not as good as "Todo Mafalda" .......2007-03-01

This book is good, but I bought it thinking it was the complete collection of comics as you can find in little books (12 issues). This is not the complete collection, therefore, I think that "Todo Mafalda" is better.

Timeless comic.......2006-07-04

I grew up reading Mafalda, and it is amazing to see how the political and social criticism that made us laugh 20 years ago still as valid today as it was back then. I was expecting the complete collection of stories, this volume provide you only with a sample of the best of them. But still a great collectors edition item.

Intelligent Humor.......2002-04-18

Just wanted to say that this is not only a book that tell you about the situation in Argentina in those days (in a very sutil way). This book is going to make you LAUGH. It is a briliant, smart and a sarcastic book. Its characters come to life after reading a couple of pages, and after reading the first one, you just can't stop reading the others.
I had all the book but lost them, and know I want to get them again. The problem is that the shiping lasts to long...
I don't know if I would recomend these books from people who are not spanish speakers.

Mafalda is my favority cartoon because of many reasons. First, it is a cartoon that will last forever even thought it was written in the '70s. Second, it represents the political and social reality of many developing countries. Actually, the cartoon is ambiented in Argetina but I heard that people from Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia enjoy the cartoon as well. Third, you can read it over the years and you will still find other interpretations to the stories. Definitely, it is a recommendable book.

This book was truely beneficial in interpreting and learning music history. The pictures and articles relate very much to college students in the modern day. It was an easy read and as a professor it was easy to make exam questions based on readings. Je l'aime bien!

At what went on behind the scenes of M*A*S*H, particularly during the final week or so of filming. I found this book at the Boston Public Library and, as it was in the reserved books section, read it in less than an hour. And I'm glad I did--I learned more about both M*A*S*H and the show's actors than I could have without interviewing them myself. Arlene Alda did a superb job with the photography, and Alan Alda's commentary is not only insightful, but also makes me wish I was old enough then (I was two in 1983) to appreciate the show, and lets me appreciate it--and the hard work of everyone involved--even more now.

Worth searching for.......2000-08-18

If you're a M*A*S*H fan--or just have one in your life--you'll want to go to the extra trouble of trying to find this out-of-print volume. It's a photo-journal of the last week of filming M*A*S*H, with all the pictures provided by Alan Alda's talented wife. She had unusual access to a very closed set and was therefore able to capture a lot of raw emotion. Her photos, combined with her husband's often poignant commentary, do much to convey a sense of what was happening to the group of players that had called the 4077th their home. Perhaps because the initial profits went to charity--though probably because it was genuinely there--a real sense of love permeates this work. THE LAST DAYS OF M*A*S*H was no attempt to capitalize on the hysteria surrounding the end of the series, but an authentic documentary effort.

Curtis is chief creative officer and founder of hillmancurtis, inc., a New York City design firm that has produced stunning Flash work for clients like 3Com, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, and even Macromedia itself.

The book deconstructs nine high-profile Flash projects created for real-life clients. Curtis takes time both in the introductions and throughout the project deconstructions, to emphasise the importance of thinking about and applying design-led principals to the job at hand.

One of the things that makes Curtis successful is his approach to motion, and it's here that the book has the most to offer. Curtis defines what he calls a Global Visual Language "comprised of simple symbology and motion," which makes it possible to communicate a powerful message across cultural barriers.

Projects include designing a $20,000 ad, animating a 3D wireframe and converting video to vectors in order to overcome bandwidth constraints. In the penultimate chapter, Todd Purgason provides an indispensible guide to producing print-based client presentations using FreeHand.

As a tutorial, the book is less successful. The project deconstructions take the form of numbered walk-throughs with accompanying illustrations and screen shots. The design is busy, and the lack of a CD showing finished projects makes it difficult to know what you're working towards.

Slick, but Not for Beginners........2002-07-26

I bought this book hoping it will help me to learn Flash 5. From a beginner perspective this book is very lacking and the examples are missing some necessary steps. Its certainly a nicely designed book but gives you no sense in what to expect from it. I expected the examples to be written in such a way that anyone can do it as long as the instructions are followed... and that didn't happen. Disappointed.

great inspiration, but outdated content.......2002-05-10

I give this a strong four because it is teaching me how and why to animate...and for me that's more valuable, but some of the examples are outdated. You're probably better off with a FlashMX book at this point.

overdesigned.......2002-03-29

I wouldn't listen to these guys when it comes to design. It's actually hard to read and find information because of their 'style'. And it doesn't look cool either. A lot of hot air, little substance.

Book that Inspire.......2002-03-13

This a book about design which I see very inspiring to anyone
who is a designer or want to be. Not only on technical aspect on how to get flash works in motion graphics but also how they got the idea. This is what other design's book lack off.
You can feel it's a real life project developement.
The book layout design is inovative. This what I called a book from a designer. Thanks to Hillman and friends for a great book.
