Last Monday I got the book by Professor Thijs ten Raa (2005) The Economics of Input-Output Analysis. I like it. It's a very nice work, that provides a broad outlook about the Input-Output Analysis, and related issues: multiplier effects, linear programming, changing coefficients, National Accounts, efficiency, production functions, international trade, Environment, productivity and spillovers, dynamic inverse and stochastic IO Analysis. By the way, in this last chapter the work of our colleague of the Spanish Input-Output Group, Jos? Manuel Rueda Cantuche, is quoted. The presentation of the book is excellent. And it is not too expensive.
It is only a suggestion...

I enjoy reading the book very much especially. It talks about the details of Leontieff model and it explains clearly the stochastic models unlike any other books. Some topics are really technical, but yet interesting and inspiring. I highly recommend it. It worths the price.

This is the first comprehensive guide to green design using economic input-output life cycle assessment (EIO-LCA) models. It is a must-have for companies trying to improve the environmental profile of their products and processes, for regulators attempting to quantify life cycle implications of products and services, and for students and scholars of green design.
Environmental life cycle assessment is often thought of as "cradle to grave" and therefore as the most complete accounting of the environmental costs and benefits of a product or service. However, as anyone who has done an environmental life cycle assessment knows, existing tools have many problems: data is difficult to assemble and life cycle studies take months of effort. A truly comprehensive analysis is prohibitive, so analysts are often forced to simply ignore many facets of life cycle impacts. But the focus on one aspect of a product or service can result in misleading indications if that aspect is benign while other aspects pollute or are otherwise unsustainable.
This book summarizes the EIO-LCA method, explains its use in relation to other life cycle assessment models, and provides sample applications and extensions of the model into novel areas. A final chapter explains the free, easy-to-use software tool available on a companion website. The software tool provides a wealth of data, summarizing the current U.S. economy in 500 sectors with information on energy and materials use, pollution and greenhouse gas discharges, and other attributes like associated occupational deaths and injuries.

I think this book does a good job explaining the science of lifecycle assessment, including all the math behind those big tables, and has good examples to illustrate the things you're learning about.

This book, the first of its kind, presents a new Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) for the Indian economy for the year 1997-98. It provides detailed and consistent information on production for 60 sectors, and on income distribution for six categories of occupational households, separately for rural and urban areas. Using fresh figures from India’s Central Statistical Organisation, the authors also present the SAM for 2002-03. In addition, this book goes into details of the concepts, methodology and limitations of the construction of SAM.
The book is divided into three parts:
Part I deals with the input-output (I-O) model, which forms an important component of SAM. It discusses the basic analytical structure of the I-O matrix and reviews landmark applications of this model for various developing countries.
Part II evaluates the analytical dimensions of SAM and associated SAM multipliers, and reviews important and innovative applications of the SAM model, again for a variety of economies.
Part III discusses the problems encountered while constructing a SAM. It provides satellite accounts for the sectorwise distribution of employment by education levels, sex, and status for both rural and urban areas.

Well, if you are interested in learning to play piano to Ani's guitar rifts, than this is the book for you. Personally, I was too cheap to buy the guitar book for double the price, so I figured I'd work my way through the piano parts. I was wrong. Perhaps if you are someone very talented at converting [?] music, than this is the book for you. But for you novices, I'd rethink. However, I did learn her songs, strange tunings and all, and the book really led you inside her music. I'd recommend it somewhat highly. No matter what, Ani still rocks!

As a first year broadcast teacher, I found this book to be very helpful. It was user-friendly, not too technical for my students but loaded with information that they needed to make their classroom videos. Each chapter taught new skills and allowed the students to practice with the provided activities. My state does not have an adopted text-book for this class, and this book has been a life-saver for me.

This book gives very good information about iSCSI, it is well organized and with simple explanation. I recommend this book for people who just start reading iSCSI.
About the protocol not applications.......2006-03-22
The author writes detai about the iSCSI protocol but doesn't talk about applcations. Get it if you're into theory but not really useful for how to use iSCSI or manage a SAN.
Good Starting Point on iSCSI.......2003-07-03
John has done a very good job of covering the basics of the iSCSI protocol. This is a good book for someone who is trying to get an introduction to this protocol. However, the material is presented from the viewpoint of someone who has NEVER actually built a storage system. For those people who are trying to either build an iSCSI system or want to get a comparison of this protocol with either Fibre Channel or Infiniband, this is not the right place to start. This is an excellent book for starters but is not good for serious iSCSI implementors.
Highly Recommended iSCSI Source for Technical Reader.......2003-04-06
iSCSI is a new SAN architecture that combines two popular network and storage technologies into one. Many technical people found the IETF technical specifications hard to read, since it requires backgrounds from both the networking world and the storage world to fully understand them.
As one of the iSCSI authorities in the IETF, the author has done a very good job in describing the technologies and the ratioale of the specifications one step at a time in a very detailed and organized way. This makes them much easier to understand by the technical people from two different worlds.
I fully appreciate John's efforts for creating such a great works that will be highly recommended for the time to come.
The future of storage networking.......2003-01-17
This work is a thorough and insightful review of the iSCSI protocol by someone who has been a major contributor to the standard and knows the protocol parameters inside out. I highly recommend this work to anyone who wants to understand the future direction of storage area networking. Over the next few years we will see the convergence of SANs with mainstream IP networking, with iSCSI and IP SANs paving the way for much tighter integration of applications, operating systems, storage and networks. As stated in the book's title, iSCSI will be the universal connection for bringing storage into this synthesis.
