                          Conventional measures of national income and product and its components have proved enormously useful as indexes of economic activity and as the empirical foundations of much of macroeconomic analysis. Robert Eisner's The Total Incomes System of Accounts (TISA) brings critical new dimensions to those measures. It offers systematic extensions and expansions in an effort to count all of the output that goes into economic well-being, now and in the future.

                          Eisner counts nonmarket as well as market production, including vast amounts of services produced by housewives and others in the home, capital formation by government and households as well as business, human and intangible capital invested in education, R&D, and health care, as well as tangible capital. He offers measures of net revaluations of tangible assets, redefines the critical boundaries between final and intermediate outputs, and presents separate sector accounts for business, nonprofit institutions, government, government enterprises and households, which make clear the major contributions of nonbusiness sectors to our total national income.

                          For these and other extensions, Eisner's TISA offers detailed and comprehensive income and product accounts in current dollars and product accounts in constant dollars for all of the years from 1946 to 1981, along with measures of capital stocks. Estimates of consumption, investment, and production functions with the new data sets, a review of other sets of extended accounts, and a detailed description of sources and methods are also provided.

                            Funny, uplifting and thought provoking, even if you aren't a church goer. Church signs do not reflect a particular denomination and are taken from church signs across the nation. This was one of those last minute finds that turned out to be one of the biggest gift successes. Gave this to several family members for Christmas and they all loved it and wanted to know where they could get more.

                            This is a must have for any DT fan that plays guitar. Whether or not you're capable of playing Petrucci solos (most aren't), the tab book is extremely useful for understanding the complexity and genius of John Petrucci. i highly recommend this product for guitar players or for people who enjoy understanding HOW things or organized/played.

                            If you've been playing guitar for 15 years, you should be able to figure it out yourself anyway. But besides that, the tab has never been perfect, but that's why you have ears, to hear if there's a mistake and correct it. Also, I have to mention that while the tab isn't perfect, the sheet music part of the book is. So if you know how to read music, then you don't need the tab.

                            I think this is a great book for any novice or professional guitar player. Artwork was good, and the book was amazing. And no, not all of the books are by Joe Schmos. I have Metropolis Part 2's book, for instance, which was edited by John Petrucci himself.

                            I have been playing guitar for over 15 years and have been into Dream Theater since Images And Words came out. All the tabs in this book (even in all the previous ones) have mistakes. I believe that the tabbers that do these books are Joe Shmoes that don't even listen to Dream Theater and just put something out just to put it out. If you want more acurate tabs for the songs, go to powertab archive and get them for free (tabbed by actual fans of the band)
                            If I could, I would give a rating of 0 stars.......eh....the artwork is nice...... The one star goes for the packaging.

Mythopoetics, erotic romance, and visual imagination are subjects of discussion, as is the commercial success of various television series and movies, musicals, and plays based on the Anne books. Scholars are equally concerned with the challenges and disputes that surround the translation of Montgomery's work from print to screen as well as the growth of tourist sites and websites that have themselves moved Avonlea into new cultural landscapes.                               I am a big fan of Anne of Green Gables. This is a great compilation of essays which discuss different issues of the Anne phenomenon and L.M.M. I found it really interesting to learn about the ways the books/movies impacted the world, like the popularity in Japan so much so that there's a Green Gables Theme Park there! The involvement of Disney in the movies and Road to Avonlea series and the way Canada and Disney approached their advertising etc in their respective countries was very surprising to me. I thought Anne was all Canadian! Other essays talk about Anne and Diana and hidden lesbian desire in L.M.M.'s books and another on descriptions of the island being erotic. (I personally don't agree with either of these thoughts and thought they were too over-the-top). Overall an interesting read. A lot of the essays seemed too detailed for me, as I'm just a general fan and not studying it for school or something like that. So I skimmed a lot. Overall a nice book for the general Anne fan but more appropriate for someone who really wants to analyze it.

                              The plan was to convey to American audiences a 'behind the scenes' look at ITV's accidental hit. However in addition to the many informative facts the author has included so much syrupy praise, that I was just about ready to go into insulin shock as I finished.

                              While the idea was good and it was nice to find out some of the fact not available back in the pre-internet days, I would have to say that even for a die-hard 'up-down' fan like myself this book was way too 'over the top'

                                Handheld organizers rapidly are becoming more important than the PC as a computing device, in large part due to the popularity of the PalmPilot. True, the beauty of these devices--aside from their portability--is that they're easy to use. Nonetheless, you still could use a guide to show you how to get the most out of them--and this is a good one.

                                The book keeps its focus on organizers that run on the Palm OS. Although this obviously includes the various PalmPilot models, it also covers the Handspring Visor, the IBM WorkPad, and the TRGPro. Author Jeff Carlson could've done a better job of delineating the subtle differences between these devices, as How to Do Everything with Your Palm Handheld did. But he does a good job of providing detailed usability and productivity tips, such as how to improve the accuracy of the Palm OS Graffiti handwriting recognition tool.

                                Given the ascendancy of wireless Internet access, Palm Organizers Visual QuickStart Guide devotes sufficient space to a discussion of the Internet features of the Palm VII, including a brief rundown of the wireless modems currently available. And all PalmPilot users should read the chapter on security, given that most people store sensitive contact information in their organizers.

                                This is a complete reference for PalmOS PDAs. The form is a step-by-step walkthrough of each function. Each page is cut in half with text on one side explaining the screenshots on the other side of the page. The chapters go through each function from managing contacts, using the calendar, reading and writing email, to surfing the web and synchronizing with your Mac or Windows box. This is very thorough and up-to-date book for Palm users who like the step-by-step approach that is thick with screenshots.

The author details the product offerings, basic features, more advanced features, and third party offerings that increase the value of the Palm. With this book as a primer, I knew exactly what I was doing when I first picked up a Palm.

                                I scanned the Palm For Dummies book before settling on this book. In my opinion, the Dummies book was comparatively confusing and overly brief.

                                I work in a customer service organization which provides training and online support for Palm OS devices. In my opinion, this book is the best hands-on learning tool you can buy for Palm OS devices; it is a ready-made course on Palm OS Organizers and how they interact with your computer & wireless networks. The book does a great job making the material helpful for both geeks and newbies. It has a great format: 50% visual and 50% text. It differentiates the Palm OS variants very clearly and it presents lots of numbered step-by-step instructions which can be used to describe procedures to clients on the phone. The O'Reilly series of books are good but do not cover all the newer devices and OS variants (Tungsten, Zire, Treo and older handhelds).
